The YouTube hosts returned for another shot at the Race. As expected of a team who only finished above 4th once in their original season, they struggled, never finishing higher than 9th place. Leaving the Pit Start last in the third leg, they got stuck on the later flight to Malaysia, a full three hours behind the lead teams. They compounded their troubles after the Roadblock, as they made the fatal mistake of not keeping their cab, and had to walk down a rural road to find a new one. This put them so far behind they were eliminated in 9th.

* GenreSavvy: When they saw Caroline & Jen show up at the Guangzhou Cultural Center without their toy car, they put the pieces together and figured out that Jet & Cord had handed over the second Express Pass.

* GenreSavvy:
** When Jen started begging Cord for the second Express Pass, instead of trying to extract some value out of it like Marie, he waited until Jet was done with the Roadblock (so the girls didn't pass them and leave them in last), then they immediately handed it over in order to burn it and get it out of the Race.
** In Leg 8, they knew that they had a potential target on their back due to their Express Pass, they used it immediately to bypass the Detour, and went to the Detour choice they found harder just in case Brendon & Rachel had already used it on them. This probably wound up being the wrong decision, as with as difficult and detailed the Roadblock ended up being, they probably could have done both Detours faster than Jet did the Roadblock.

* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: They started Season 20 with Rachel whining at the drop of a hat, and Brendon constantly getting frustrated and yelling at her. However, they became much more sympathetic when Art & J.J. and Vanessa started bullying her, tilting them back towards a Face. They then started off All-Stars being portrayed as a far nicer team than in Season 20, completing their move towards being a Face. However, the Heel portion started to creep up during Leg 7 (see AlphaBitch), and got worse in the next leg with the team U-Turning Dave & Connor, who were well liked among the other teams, to win a leg, making them outcasts once again. Rachel's whining came back in leg 10, and they completed their move back to villain in the final leg, where tensions burst with the other two Final 3 (starting fights with Jen & Caroline at the airport, and with Dave & Connor by shoveling sand into their hole at the digging task), and then tried to steal Jen & Caroline's cab at the Las Vegas Neon Museum Boneyard.

It\'s the way it was presented on the show, with Caroline explicitly saying Rachel had pushed her and cut in line, this isn\'t a page for casting aspersions at the edit and Dave & Connor for making Rachel out into some horrible villain, that\'s the YMMV page, that is, unless there\'s some specific proof there was manipulative editing, but since the camera\'s couldn\'t record there, we have to write the trope example by how the \"he said, she said\" was presented, and relegate any legitimate doubts to a note

But do we see it? The camera never had time to film the fight (what we only know is that they fought). And the editing (and Dave & Connor) will want us to root against Brenchel.

** Big Easy's size and notable struggles with mental tasks in previous seasons caused them issues with several Roadblocks during the race. Rachel pushed Jennifer in line, sounds like starting to me. 2) the Cowboys poor performance is important to note, as it shows they performed poorly previously, but were still seen as huge threats despite this, which is part of the fizzle out trope. 3) Big Easy did not do all the Roadblocks listed above, in fact, he only did the sewing of the ones listed. 4) real people don\'t get out of character moments for something like that

* TheCharmer: Given that they were able to rally up with the other contestants to go against Brenchel (who at that time were rather neutral with each other prior to the U-Turn fiasco), having a same season ally in Caroline & Jennifer helps as well.

The Series/BigBrother couple were back for another honeymoon at the Race, now married. After an entire season's worth of whining in Season 20, Rachel started off All-Stars as a much nicer person, acting as a calming influence on both Brendon and other teams. However, this only lasted through half the season, as they U-Turned Dave & Connor to win the 8th leg, putting them at odds with the other teams once again, and their more negative traits slowly started reappearing. While they won three legs, they also spent a lot time scraping along at the bottom of the pack, working their way into the Final 3 on the back of several lucky breaks. This luck ran out in the finale, as the combination of a bad cab driver and missing the clue at The Mirage doomed them to 3rd.

** This was even worse in the Deleted Scenes, where all their talk of strategy showed that a lot of their logic was skewed, such as Rachel thinking that her hiding their bags at the Ballz Detour, so that Leo & Jamal wouldn't know they were there, might have led to them not getting U-TurnedNot thinking that if Leo & Jamal thought they were far behind, which was the goal, the Afghanimals would U-Turn them anyway to ensure their elimination. Because it\'s padding, Season 18 is Season 18, no need to bring it up in this season just to belittle the Cowboys. And for the Big Easy it\'s already mention that he had sewing problems. Plus, we don\'t know who started the fight in the airport scene.

* TheCharmer: Given that they were able to rally up with the other contestants to go against Brenchel (who at that time were rather neutral with each other prior to the U-Turn fiasco), having a same season ally in Caroline & Jennifer helps as well.

* RejectedApology: They refused Brendon's apology for the U-Turn.

* RejectedApology: They refused Brendon's apology for the U-Turn. And in a deleted scene where they are on a train trip to Switzerland, they and Brenchel tried to clear out the air, but it definitely doesn't work out either.

The Series/BigBrother couple were back for another shot at the Race, now married. After suffering through an entire season's worth of whining in Season 20, Rachel started off All-Stars as a much nicer person, acting as a calming influence on both Brendon and other teams. This luck ran out in the finale, as the combination of a bad cab driver and missing the clue at The Mirage doomed them to 3rd place.

* AlphaBitch: Averted for the first six legs, but Rachel's bitchiness started popping up again in leg 7, when, after pointing Dave & Connor towards the clue at the Spanish Steps, she seemed to think they should thank her for not pointing them in the wrong direction. This got progressively worse up until the finale, when she was downright nasty when talking about the other teams.

* BabiesEverAfter: Averted. Brendan promised Rachel that if they won the Race, they could have children. This got brought up more and more as they neared the final leg, with the two of them mentioning it seemingly every five minutes in the finale. Once it became clear they weren't going to win, Rachel started crying about not getting her baby, and their 3rd place finish resigned Rachel to having to wait until Brendon got his doctorate before they could make a "Brenchel Baby". One would wonder what they did with Rachel's winnings on BigBrother, but it is rumored that they used the winnings to rent a house in L.A.

* DisproportionateRetribution: Even though their logic for U-Turning Dave & Connor weren't advantageous to them. It's not fair to Dave overreact into having an alliance to boot them over a U-Turn, a rule that has been going for 10+ seasons.

The loud, energetic Twinnies were back for another shot at the million. They started off strong by getting on the first flight to China, but, when they landed, they had trouble finding the designated bridal shops, negating their hour lead on the second flight. Then, the twins had a breakdown at the Ferris Wheel, and due to Joey & Meghan being able to find their clue to the Roadblock first, the twins were the first to go. After the season, they were immediately cast on Characters/SurvivorSanJuanDelSur, which aired the following fall.

I think we\'re far enough away from the season now that opinions have settled and we can be a little less neutral about the mess that was All-Stars.

However, despite a number of issues, including a disappointing course that might have been too easy for returning teams, an elimination order that was much more predictable than previous All-Star seasons, and the teams mostly getting along and keeping to themselves, leading to a definite lack of Conflict in the first half of the season, the season never became quite the disaster that many fans feared.
