Luca is a shy, studious, cowardly nerd from a rich family in the Kingdom of Regnum who is being raised to inherit his dad's lucrative merchant business... so pretty much the exact opposite of every other ''Tales'' main character, except maybe Luke. The story kicks off when he meets Iria Animi ([[CrashIntoHello concussively]]) and, in trying to protect her from the soldiers chasing her, discovers his own Tenseisha powers.

As a side note, none of the other Tenseisha in the game can seriously believe Ruca is really General Asras. The player is then free to beat them to death.

The general of the Census Army. Wants to get the Souseiryoku to [[Main/MakeABetterWorld reunite Heaven and Earth into one world]]. [[spoiler:When he reincarnated, his anger and pain at being betrayed by Inanna and Durandal formed into Maou/Mathias, and the rest became Ruca]].

Iria is a [[{{Tsundere}} loud]][[HotBlooded mouthed]] girl from a small town which was attacked by the Alka cult. As a result, she has sworn revenge on the cult and on its leader, Mathias. A small critter named Coda follows her around, but is never explained in the plot. Iria probably has the most [[AmnesiacDissonance conflict of memories]] out of all the characters.

* AmnesiacDissonance - [[spoiler: Inanna was the one who caused Asras's death and the fall of Heaven. Iria, of course, knows nothing about this.]]

A talking holy sword forged by Vulcan. Durandal was actually born to fight Vulcan's previous creation, [[Main/AIIsACrapshoot Gae Bolg]], who turned out to be somewhat [[Main/AxCrazy violent]]. Durandal, of course, defeated Gae Bolg with the help of Asras, his wielder. Gae Bolg was then reborn into the world as (the insane) Hasta. When Spada meets Hasta, Durandal's memories unlock, and Spada swears to continue the battle that didn't get finished in Heaven.

Durandal then helps Asras with the war against the Latio, [[spoiler:but is apparently against it, and willingly helps Inanna kill Asras by being the murder weapon]].

A young girl from the Kingdom of Regnum. Hermana runs an underground school for Tenseisha children who would be captured for study by the Imperial Capital. She has a heavy [[TheIdiotFromOsaka Kansai dialect]], but is actually quite clever and savvy, and in every adaptation knows more about the war in Heaven than the party. The manga adds a greedy streak: she won't stop charging and crediting the party for her tips.
