* HearingVoices: Hinata often hears Komaeda speaking in his dreams as part of his ''Komaeda Theatres'' though he doesn't tend to remember it. Later, Komaeda talks to him even when he's awake, which becomes especially freaky when Komaeda starts compelling Hinata to do things, though he never acknowledges that it's Komaeda.

* AdaptationalVillainy: Since his motiveless murder attempt goes awry again in a fashion that doesn't allow him to present or defend his case ([[BlueAndOrangeMorality not that he has much]]) he comes off a lot darker this time. * DeadPersonConversation: Being dead doesn't stop Komaeda from talking to people, though what he does is closer to going on a monologue in someone else's dream. Only in the Funhouse does he engage in actual conversation with Hinata when he tries to convince him to play Russian roulette.
* DemonicPossession: Komaeda is able to take control of Hinata either through outright possession or by subtly manipulating his thoughts and actions. He does this to break into the amusement park castle and to force Hinata to go the Final Dead Room. What's horrifying about this ability is how Komaeda is able to easily overpower Hinata when he resists.
* VoicesAreMental: While possessing Hinata, Komaeda does not speak like him and uses a soft and slow voice in contrast to Hinata's sharp and fast one. Everyone else finds this very unnerving given the situation.

* YouAreNotAlone: Komaeda attempts to convince Hinata to play Russian roulette in the Final Dead Room, though Hinata understandably panics. He first tries forcing it before assuring Hinata he'll live, and that he isn't alone. In the end, Hinata survives.

* DemonicPossession: Komaeda is able to take control of Hinata either through outright possession or by subtly manipulating his thoughts and actions. He does this to break into the amusement park castle and to force Hinata to go the Final Dead Room, though the fact that Komaeda can easily overpower Hinata's resistance is frightening.
* SomethingOnlyTheyWouldSay: It's at first ambiguous who is controlling Hinata, as it seems to be Kamukura. However, while it talks with Hinata later on, it becomes clear the one responsible for possessing Hinata is Komaeda, due to their frequent speeches about hope and apparent disdain for normal people.

* JerkassFacade: They may try to present themselves as aloof but it is clear to most students they aren't as cold as they appear. [[spoiler: This is because they aren't the real Togami but the Super High School Level Impostor posing as him.]]

* WeHardlyKnewYe: Since the story doesn't cover the introduction and the first chapter from before the party there isn't too much to say about him that isn't covered on his [[Characters/SuperDanganRonpa2 original character page.]]

* {{Irony}}: He likes talking as he doesn't care about others, which he did ''show'' he didn't in the first investigation, and act like he's an evil overlord type when he is normally a very considerate person as shown by [[spoiler: trying to make a HeroicSacrifice to protect his other students]] despite having troubles connecting with them. [[spoiler: But now that he's ComeBackWrong he may genuinely be as dark as he wanted to be before judging by how he attacked those he tried to "save".]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He may not make it clear often but he does grow to care about his fellow students. [[spoiler: Gold enough to the point he stayed behind to try and keep the Impostor from going after the others (and his four dark devas) despite both seeing how they killed Nidai and the fact that the fall out from the second trial had made him connecting to the other students even harder.]] Comparing this to how in both canon and in the first case [[SkewedPriorities he made it clear he valued his missing "Devil dog earring" over the lives of those around him]] by focusing on finding ''that'' instead of even try to help find out who killed Togami/Komaeda respectively when not helping could have put ''his'' life at risk too, you can see quite the character shift.

* AdaptationalVillainy: While she doesn't see it as "Villainy" per say this Sonia definitely isn't as nice as her canon counterpart. [[spoiler: Mostly because she's the second trial's murderer.]]

* CrushBlush: In [[ADayInTheLimelight Ibuki's Greatest Ambition]] during the girl only party and Koizumi [[DamnedByFaintPraise disses most of the guys on the island through half hearted compliments]] when she gets to [[ShipTease Hinata]] and his "decent face" Ibuki makes note of the fact she is blushing and avoiding eye contact as she says it.

* AdaptationalVillainy: While in the original game she never needed to be loyal to anyone aside from Kuzuryuu here her [[spoiler:allowing Kuzuryuu to play Twilight Syndrome]] is a direct betrayal of the trust Byakuya and Hinata put in her. [[spoiler:Her later trying to play the LadyMacbeth to Kuzuryuu to try and convince him to graduate and having this scene be played to her intended victim Koizumi while the photographer made it clear she thought of the swordswoman as a friend only makes her seem worse.]]

* BigBad: Since their strain of the despair fever caused them to regain their memories (just like Tsumiki's case did), they have returned to their Super High School Level Despair state and seemingly have taken the reigns from Monokuma.

* BigEater: Enough to challenge Byakuya to an eating contest. [[spoiler: That she ''won'' since it was speed-based.]]

In short this boy can ''not'' catch a break.

Possibly played with since as a member of Ultimate Despair, their villainy is assumedly identical to the sort of things they are currently doing, but as we never saw them in their Ultimate Despair state before it still counts.
