* [=~Hey, It's That Voice!~=]: His English voice actor is [[MichaelMcConnohie Michael McConnohie]], who you may recognize as {{Darwinist}} [[TheEmperor Emperor]] [[CodeGeass Charles zi Britannia]]. His Japanese seiyuu is AkioOhtsuka, aka [[MetalGear Solid Snake]].

* [=~Hey, It's That Voice!~=]: In the English version she's voiced by MichelleRuff, who played [[{{Bleach}} Rukia Kuchiki]] and [[GurrenLagann Yoko Littner]].

* FetishFuelStationAttendant: let's see, she's got:

** In English, it's Jessica Strauss, known for roles like [[{{Bleach}} Chizuru Honsho]] and [[{{Eureka7}} Gidget]].
*** [[HilariousInHindsight Hilariously]] [[FridgeHorror creepy]], since Chizuru is ''another'' PsychoLesbian. (Admittedly, there, it was PlayedForLaughs.)

* AlternateCompanyEquivalent and CaptainErsatz: Her backstory and appearance mirror Vanessa from ''{{The King of Fighters}}''.

* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: He seems to be based on MMA star Fedor Emelianenko. Abel shares Fedor's style of address [[GoodScarsEvilScars and cut on his cheek]] may be a reference to one Fedor had at one point.

* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: A rather odd case. Most characters in ''Street Fighter'' who are clearly human in appearance run the entire gambit of naturally occuring hair colors. Hakan's is ''turquoise'' colored, probably as a result of oils.)

* [[GratuitousEnglish Gratuitous]]... ''[[AsLongAsItSoundsForeign Something]]'': His voice in English has a particularly muddled accent that randomly switches from English to French to German to...
** Seriously, [[NotEvenBotheringWithTheAccent you wouldn't know he's French if not for the flag in his selection screen picture]].
*** He sounds like [[JeanClaudeVanDamme Jean-Claude Van Damme]]... perhaps an intentional ShoutOut?
*** Oh I get it, that's why his rival is Guile!
** [[WildMassGuessing So he used to be]] [[TeamFortress2 the Spy?]]

* AmericansHateTingle: Mexicans aren't too thrilled with him.
** Considering that he's an over-the-top depiction of Lucha Libre... However, ''Street Fighter'' tends to exaggerate ''everything''.

* {{Eagleland}}: Type 2. Morbidly obese, arrogant, kinda dim, has moves with sci-fi names (Galactic Tornado, SpaceOpera Symphony). The fact that he's an American is ''obviously'' coincidental...
** Before anybody thinks of this as an insult, remember that the entire point of Rufus is a fighter who's way, WAY more capable than he looks. Which is a fairly logical thing to say considering how alot of countries view the U.S. right now.

* [[UglyGuyHotWife Ugly Guy Hot Girlfriend]]: Rufus' girlfriend is a hot little number named Candy who thinks he's super awesome.
** Doubles as a HugeGuyTinyGirl couple.
* UnknownRival: Inverse example. He counts himself as Ken's rival, but doesn't know who Ken actually is.
** Also played straight, as Ken has no knowledge of his existence prior to their match.

* DefeatMeansPlayable: Seth can be selected after he has been defeated at least once by every character.
** Starts off as playable in ''SSFIV.''

*** Listen to his TheReasonYouSuckSpeech in ''The Ties That Bind'' in English. The hamminess is virtually overflowing.

** GlassCannon: Despite his paper-thin stamina, his combos and setups are very powerful, and a ''really good'' Seth player can give anyone, even a Sagat player, a run for their money. Cruelly subverted with his Ultra Combo, which does horribly low damage, even when charged up to maximum.
*** And now completely averted with his new Ultra in ''Super'', which does about as much damage as every other character's Ultra. Good luck fighting the [[SNKBoss CPU Seth]] when he has it.
* MegaManning: His movelist, except for one special, his super and his ultras, consist of Guile's [[EnergyBall Sonic Boom]], Dhalsim's [[TeleportSpam Yoga Teleport]], Chun-Li's [[RapidFireFisticuffs Lightning Kick]], Ryu's {{Shoryuken}}, and Zangief's SpinningPiledriver.
** Note that he flings the Sonic Boom with one hand, like Charlie did.
** One hand, yes. But he throws them like ''Remy''. Curiouser and curiouser...

** BareYourMidriff: And ''what'' a midriff is that! I mean, ''[[EvilIsSexy damn]]''!

* {{Expy}}: Not obvious at first, but her moveset as well as the idea of a combat suit were actually taken from CaptainCommando (Capcom's original mascot, who reappeared in [[CapcomVsWhatever titles]] such as ''Marvel vs. Capcom'' and ''Namco x Capcom''), not to mention the shades.

* ShoutOut: To CaptainCommando, not only does she share some similar moves and normal attacks, her third alternate outfit from SuperStreetFighterIV bears a not so visible star emblem similar to [[FanNickname CapCom]]'s. The fact that the latter's game takes place in the future of the same SharedUniverse has led some fans to speculate that her gear is an early version of what will eventually become CapCom's armot.

* {{Expy}}: His alternate outfit in ''SSFIV'' has been compared to [[MetalGearSolid Solid Snake]].
** [[YourMileageMayVary Your Mileage May Definitely Vary]] on this one.
** If anything, it's more ''{{Rambo}}''-themed.

* {{Expy}}: Sort of. He's like the {{Shotoclone}} version of Charlie; his projectile attacks are different from Ryu, Ken and Akuma, just as Charlie's sonic boom is different from Guile's. Also, Gouken taught Ryu and Ken their trademark moves, much like Charlie taught Guile his trademark moves. To top it off, Gouken throws his Hadoukens (except for the Denjin Hadouken Ultra) with one hand, just like Charlie throws his sonic booms with one hand.

* {{Expy}}: People think he's the love child of Gill/Urien and [[{{Terminator}} the T-1000]].
** Or even better, the Monitor Cyborgs from the Animated Movie.
*** Also, there is the visual resemblance to [[{{Watchmen}} Doctor Manhattan]] which didn't go unnoticed.
**** But we have yet to see a blue wang. [[NightmareFuel Hope we never do]].
***** Take a look at his 8th color palette. Seth '''IS''' Dr. Manhattan.

* ShoutOut: Seth was named after Seth "[[FanNickname S-Kill]]" Killian, the current community director for Capcom and former ''Street Fighter'' tournament champion
** [[spoiler:MeaningfulName: Additionally, in TheBible, Seth was the name of Adam and Eve's third son, born after Abel was slain. There was no "Cain" in ''SFIV'', but it certainly leaves room for him in the inevitable ''[[CapcomSequelStagnation Ultra Hyper Street Fighter IV ZX Epsilon Double Prime Turbo]]: [[OverlyLongGag The Ultimate Grand Challenge Championship Edition]].]]''
** His green color pattern combined with his first alternate costume makes Seth look a little like a bald, less bulkier [[TheIncredibleHulk Hulk]].

* {{Expy}}: In a way, Juri is a GoneHorriblyWrong WhatIf take on Chun-Li (both are skilled martial artists, both of their fathers tried to take on Shadowloo and died). The only difference is that Bison took it to a higher level with Juri and the end result was, well...

** Her similarities to [[JoJosBizarreAdventure Jolyne Kujo]] have also [[http://fightingstreet.com/folders/variousinfofolder/ripofffolder/ripoff_pics/Juri_Jolyne_Kujo.jpg not gone unnoticed]].
*** Considering how much Capcom has borrowed from other animé series in the past (including ''[[JoJosBizarreAdventure Jojo's]]'') she might actually be more of an {{Expy}}.

* ShoutOut: She has two attacks called [[StreetFighterIII "Second Impact" and "Third Strike"]]. Please don't make me have to explain this one.

* {{Expy}}: This ''might'' be a coincidence, but he seems to have a lot in common with Arslan, one of the honor roll of Contenders from the White Wolf ''SF'' RPG. Arslan is an oil wrestler from Turkey, and his name means "lion", an animal Hakan has a strong association with.
** He also looks like Darun Mister from the ''EX'' series, only with a sunburn and silly hair.

* ShoutOut: His default outfit looks like a barefoot [[FinalFight Mike Haggar]], with a different skin tone and hair style.
** One of his taunts is "I haven't even begun to fight." This is very similar to [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Paul_Jones John Paul Jones]]' iconic BadassBoast, "I have not yet begun to fight!"

* ExtremityExtremist: Averted. She, despite being a Takwondo practictioner, uses punches. However, she's still a KickChick, more or less.

* Shoutout: Both of El Fuerte's ultra resemble a move from ''{{Kinnikuman}}''. The Flying Giga buster resemble's Big Body's Maple Leaf Clutch, and the Ultimo Spark (I think that's it's name) is a clear shout out to the incomplete Muscel Spark.

* ShoutOut: Wears a yellow jumpsuit, similiar to the one worn by BruceLee's character in ''Game of Death''. Except he's so fat that he can't zip it up above his navel.

* ShoutOut: His second alternate costume in ''SSFIV'' looks a little like [[MortalKombat Raiden]].
** One of his winquotes in ''Super''? [[UrbanLegendOfZelda "You must defeat me to stand a chance!"]]

* Complete Monster: Unless her [[BreakTheCutie tragic]] [[ParentalAbandonment past]] makes her exempt from this trope, she fits the bill perfectly.

** This also [[UnfortunateImplications could be seen as]] a RealLife TakeThat; the Japanese and Koreans aren't too crazy about each other.
*** Jeez, people are reading to much into this. Justice-obsessed Koreans are so universal in videogames, it could be it's very own trope. Juri breaking that mold has nothing to do with racism and everything to do with Capcom wanting to make a Korean character who breaks the mold. If anything, she's a TakeThat on other Korean characters. Korea is also a VERY big market for fighting games, and specifically the Capcom and SNK flavor of them, so pissing them off is not a wise business decision.

* DeusExMachina: The Power of Nothingness (or Mu no Ken in Japanese), a technique ''never spoken of'' before ''IV'', is the reason behind Gouken's survival of the Shun Goku Satsu and subsequent coma. [[WildMassGuessing Perhaps Gouken was]] HoldingBackThePhlebotinum.

*** Furthermore, he's only the second martial artist character in the franchise ([[StreetFighterIII Makoto]] being the other) [[TheCombatPragmatist that does not use padded gloves]].

** One of his winquotes in ''Super''? "You must defeat me to stand a chance!"

** Yeah, he [[IncrediblyLamePun definitely loves Candy...]]
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Some of his rants are really random and have nothing to do with anything.
** His taunts are more sensible than his win quotes. For example, his win quote versus C. Viper has him complaining about poorly made furniture. [[FlatWhat What]].
