The Big Bad of Shadowhunter Peril, Valentine is a Nephilim gone bad who brought about the near-destruction of his own race and is now the subsequent ruler of the planet. He remained largely invisible during the first half of the story, but has since begun to take a more active role.

Lilith is another of the few canon characters to appear in Shadowhunter Peril (the other two being Valentine and Abbadon). She is one of the most powerful demons to ever walk the Earth, and (arguably) the most powerful of them all. She provides Valentine with his demon resources to use as an army, and much of the Resistance hates her.

* MookMaker: ALL demons are born from her blood. This makes her dangerous in a fight--the more you wound her, the more demons automatically are born to come to her aid.

Possibly one of the most powerful characters on the RPG (no one's ever really sure who is the strongest), Oblivion is an Ushubaen, a human who was experimented on by the demon Chaos and infused with enough demonic energy to give him superpowers, while still allowing him to retain a soul (in Shadowhunter Peril, if you have a soul, you have the potential to be much more powerful than a being who doesn't have a soul).

Veronica is probably the zaniest member of the Resistance--she is a warlock, and therefore has near-limitless potential for magical power, but chooses not to use it for as-yet-unexplained reasons. It has been confirmed she is clinically insane, but what kind of mental disorder she has remains to be seen.

* MamaBear: One of the few moments where Veronica got scary rather than crazy. When Ethan was poisoned twice in succession by the incompetence of other members of the Resistance, Veronica ''lost it'', threatening to cut out every single one of Dave's organs while still keeping him alive, and then finally slicing him into pieces. She even scared Puriel.
* ManicPixieDreamGirl: Too many examples of this to list, really.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: The Masculine Girl to Bezaliel's Feminine Boy.
* MotorMouth: To the point where Lilith wanted to impale herself on her own sword.

* TriggerHappy: Stalling a fight with Veronica may keep you alive longer, but it also manages to piss her off more, and she'll more than likely try to shoot you. If you survive an encounter with her but are now marked as an ArchEnemy in her book, and you happen to meet her again, expect to be greeted by a ClickHello.

Flirty, cunning, and quick-witted, Etzel is a vampire who owns a lavish underground mansion in the sewers of New York City. This is somewhat ironic, considering Etzel's perfectionist personality and distaste for anything dirty or less than fashionable.

* AnythingThatMoves: Etzel's previous encounters largely remain unknown, but it's been made apparent that he has ''certainly'' gotten around. He tried, several times, to drop not-so-subtle hints to Nicholas MUCH to Umbra's annoyance. As of late he's been unable to do anything of the sort, though, thanks to Kyle.

* LovableSexManiac: Etzel is easily the most promiscuous of the Resistance, and while the rest of the characters take it in stride, the creators of Shadowhunter Peril find it hilarious.
* MoodWhiplash: With the facility to jump from jokey to wistful to furious to... welll, you name it, Etzel is the most changeable of the Resistance next to Veronica, making him serviceable ComicRelief.
* Really700YearsOld: Etzel is much older than any normal human would be able to live for, thanks to being a vampire. Yet he appears to be in his twenties.

Nicholas, who prefers to be called by his Etzel-bestowed human name, is the sweetest, most stereotypically angelic angel in the cast.

* ComicallyMissingThePoint: Nicholas is past master at doing this (unintentionally, of course), especially when it comes to anything involving sex.
* ElementalPowers: Several, some overlapping. Nicholas is naturally good at PlayingWithFire, although his assigned position in Heaven gives him the ability to BlowYouAway with [[WindFromBeneathMyWings Wind From Beneath His Wings]]. He also can generate [[LightEmUp blinding light]] as a side effect of using.
* HealingHands: Oddly enough, he discovered this power long before his own self-HealingFactor.
* HellYesMoment: Not long after his introduction, Nicholas takes out a horde of demons with a dragon-shaped blast of superheated wind and debris. After insisting he's no good at fighting.

The first of two demons to not be completely AxCrazy, Umbra is the Greater Demon of Energy, and the third demon to be born into existence. Until the arrival of the angels, Umbra was the most tactically knowledgeable of the Resistance and would often play peacemaker. Since the angels arrived, however, he's taken more of a backseat role, although he can still [[BadassBystander kick some ass.]]

* AccidentalInnuendo: With Nicholas. Umbra was trying to teach him how to fight in hand-to-hand combat. Nicholas displays much more prowess then Umbra had anticipated and throws him into a wall and falls to the ground moaning in pain. Nicholas starts frettting over him and starts repeating the words "Oh" and "Umbra". Cue Bezaliel and Veronica, who are standing on the other side of the wall. All they hear is sex. Bezaliel then moans about how his son is going to hell. Could be considered a CrowningMomentOfFunny.
* AlwaysChaoticEvil: Averted with Umbra specifically, and the aversion is used the defining characteristic of his personality: Demons are SUPPOSED to all be like this, but Umbra was an anomaly that got him locked up for thousands of years and tortured.

* BigBrotherMentor: To Theo, especially after Alex dies. He's just shy of being PromotedToParent.

** LickedByTheDog: Children are mysteriously drawn to Umbra and seek comfort in his presence--this was apparently immediately with Theo, who orbited Umbra like a moon when they first met. Less so with Jez, but she was older and more focused on the war.

* HellishPupils: His pupils had orange pentacles in them. These are kept after he becomes an angel, signifying his demonic origins. Averted since Umbra isn't evil.
* HeroWithBadPublicity: Starts out as this.
* NeverAcceptedInHisHometown: His hometown being Hell, this really sucks. Also, since he doesn't have a soul, when he dies he gets sent back to Hell, where they all hate him and will gladly torture him. This is fixed upon becoming an angel.

* PowerGivesYouWings: After [[spoiler:Nuriel gives him to drink of the angelic HolyRelic called the Soul Chalice, which transforms him into an AscendedDemon]], Umbra sprouts four black-feathered wings.

** Later becomes MySpeciesDothProtestTooMuch with the introduction of Ignis, Umbra's little sister who also joins the rebel cause despite being a demon.

* SuperPoweredEvilSide: Once, when Theo was endangered, Umbra turned into his true demon form--and promptly blew up a section of the city. It's only been revealed once, because he then became an angel and the demon form was lost.

* ActionSurvivor: After the Apocalypse, he fights his way across the country with only two sidearms and a motorcycle, in a land populated by inhumanly strong demons. He has apparently killed a pack of rogue werewolves who were trying to eat him, with a pistol.
* BadassAngster: The first time he tried to save an alternate Earth, he was cocky and arrogant and the entire world died because he failed to protect them.
* BadassLongcoat: He wears a tan duster.

* GuardianOfTheMultiverse: Without the omnipotence. The Architect describes it as because he is the only person so far who is able to hop between dimensions and visit other worlds, he's in charge of watching over them. This means that he's often involved in many plans to destroy a planet and stop them. It also requires him to befriend the locals of whatever planet he's trying to save to get them on his side.

Kyle Vivoka is the only phoenix-human hybrid in existence, and he is the adopted son of the Phoenix King Ra. He is next in line for the throne, should Ra die, but Kyle isn't ready for that responsibility. He's a joking, sarcastic 15-year-old who displays an insane amount of carelessness for his body, due to his regeneration.
