-->'''Tsuyoshi''': How lame. Giving up before trying is the most lame thing. Did you learn that in school?
* FragileSpeedster: His combat style focuses on carefully defending himself and dodging attacks to hit the weak spots of his opponents.
* MeaningfulName: His name means "strong-willed" and oh boy, is he determined to leave Shibuya by any means necessary.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: Tsuyoshi is significantly shorter than the rest of the cast, but that doesn't stop him from going mano-a-mano with the local gang members.
* TomatoInTheMirror: [[spoiler: He's actually the reincarnation of Revu, the mysterious individual who wrote the message that instructed him to escape Shibuya in the first place.]]
* {{Ubermensch}}: Tsuyoshi ''refuses'' to obey the oppressive rules of Shibuya and wholeheartedly believes that the Shibuya 15 should have the freedom to control their own lives.

!!Ryuugo
* AmbiguouslyBi: He dates Miu for a short period of time but was previously seen checking out DJ's... organ and touching his face in a public toilet, much to the latter's discomfort.
* AmbiguousDisorder: Ryuugo's ruthlessness, fits of laughter and exaggerated facial expressions indicate that there's something really, really wrong with him.

* ChainPain: His weapon of choice.

* GenkiGirl: The ''most'' energetic, quirky and hyperactive character of the show, surpassing even her boyfriend, which is saying something.
* HateSink: Moreso than Ryuugo himself; Miu is sadistic, manipulative and most of all, cruel to not only her enemies but also her own gang.
* InLoveWithYourCarnage: Miu is the ''only'' gang member who likes watching Piece doing what he does best.

* MauveShirt: She appears in a total of three episodes but her actions and death are what made Tsuyoshi question the moral ambiguity of Piece.
* MurderIsTheBestSolution: Basically her only way of dealing with the enemies of Lovegen.
* TyrantTakesTheHelm: Nami assumes leadership of Lovegen after Asagi is marked for death by Piece and quickly becomes just as bad as Ryuugo.

!!Chiko

* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: [[spoiler: DJ abandons his own gang to assist Lovegen and defects to Palhands but then conspires with Miu to overthrow Ryuugo.]]
* DanceBattler: The members of Bunkamu incorporate break dancing into their fighting style.
* GeneralFailure: He's easily the least competent gang leader in Shibuya and his gang is pretty much overshadowed by the other two.
* NotSoHarmlessVillain: [[spoiler: Who could have guessed that DJ, of all people, would come the closest to actually taking down Ryuugo.]]
* SweetTooth: DJ is nothing without his lollipops, to the extent that he seriously thinks he can use them as a form of payment.

!!BM
* CoDragons: With his own Bunkamu partner; [[spoiler: fittingly, both of them would later become Palhand's newest Shoutas, still working under DJ.]]
* WeHardlyKnewYe: [[spoiler: He and his partner end up falling to their deaths after separate encounters with Nami, they do come back some episodes later though]].

!!Other Characters
!Piece
* BarbarianLonghair
* TheDreaded: He's feared by ''everyone'' in Shibuya, well, except Miu.
* TheHeavy: Piece is the most active antagonist of the show, but he's only an instrument acting on behalf of the real bad guys.
* ProfessionalKiller: Literally programmed to hunt down and kill any and all "criminals" within the confines of Shibuya.
* SerialKiller: Piece goes after those who break the laws of Shibuya, ranging from murder to rebelling against the system.
* WarriorPoet: Piece will often spout random philosophical sentences and questions for no discernible reason other than to invoke this trope.
* WouldHurtAChild: His victims are exclusively fifteen-year-olds.

!Igaya
* BigBad: [[spoiler: As the chairman of the group that's responsible for "treating" the characters, Igaya is the real mastermind behind the events of the show.]]
* EvilIsPetty: [[spoiler: He's all but stated to have murdered Professor Otomo for getting in his way, and when the students finally revolt against him, Igaya tries to "punish" them himself for the breakdown of his academy.]]
* NotSoWellIntentionedExtremist: [[spoiler: He is ostensibly trapping teenagers in Shibuya to make them functioning members of society, except for the fact that he's worse than all of them combined.]]
* PsychopathicManchild: [[spoiler: He does his best to hide it behind a MaskOfSanity, but this is what Isaya truly is, a sadistic and childish who sees the virtual Shibuya as his own personal playground.]]
* ShadowDictator: [[spoiler: Igaya lords over the virtual world but rarely appears in person.]]

!!Kengo
* AffablyEvil: [[spoiler: He lets Asagi, Ema and Tsuyoshi eat, work off debts and rest in his tattoo parlor/restaurant despite keeping them in the virtual Shibuya]].
* EasilyForgiven: [[spoiler: His acts as TheDragon are immediately forgotten after the Shibuya 15 regain their memories.]]
* EvenEvilHasStandards: [[spoiler: Seeing his boss for what he truly is was enough for him to help his students escape.]]
* MoleInCharge: [[spoiler: He's the well-known owner of a neutral zone in Shibuya and also the overseer of the virtual world.]]

!![[spoiler: The Original Ema]]
* CopKiller: Flashbacks show her shooting at the officers who tried to arrest her.
* FaceOfAnAngelMindOfADemon: [[spoiler: Ema's angelic nature is nowhere to be seen here, the original Ema was a violent sociopath who didn't even care about the lives that she took.]]
* GreaterScopeVillain: [[spoiler: Her heinous crime was inadvertently the reason why virtual world of Shibuya had to be created as a way to treat delinquents like her.]]
* TeensAreMonsters: ''Yes'', she manages to be the worst example in a show about JapaneseDelinquents.
