* GoddamnedBoss: He's a pain in the ass to dispatch in ''Samurai Heroes'' thanks to the fact he rarely uses basic attacks, instead almost exclusively using an "attack" where he pinballs around randomly on his back. The move is loudly telegraphed but has such high priority it's almost impossible to interrupt, can't be stopped prematurely, knocks you airborne while only doing pitiful damage, and ends with one last shockwave that will just give him time to start it over again. He'll do this every time he escapes from a combo, dragging to fight with him out for way longer that it has to.

!!Itsuki
[[quoteright:200:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/itsuki_2604.bmp]]
-->Voiced by: TomokoKawakami[=/=]MiyukiSawashiro (Japanese), JanyseJaud (''Devil Kings'')

A cute young girl leading a peasant rebellion with a [[DropTheHammer Hammer]] gifted to her from the gods.

She is known as ''Puff'' in ''Devil Kings'' and speaks with a strong [[DeepSouth southern accent]] for some reason.
-----
* CryCute
* CuteBruiser: Although she herself isn't that strong, her hammer sure packs a punch.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: After she defeats him, Masamune convinces her not to give up on her dreams, and shows her that not all samurai are evil. In ''Battle Heroes'', he goes to rescue her from the Toyotomi and will take revenge for the village.
* DropTheHammer: Which she swings awkwardly.
* ExposedToTheElements: Her outfit is hardly appropriate considering she's running around in ''sub-zero'' temperatures. There is no way she's not cold! However, it's all part of [[{{Lolicon}} her appeal]].
* GaiasVengeance: Her hammer is apparently gifted to her from the gods, and a good amount of her techniques are snow-based.
* GirlishPigtails
* GlacierWaif: Has one of the slowest attack speed of all the characters.
* GoodOldFisticuffs: One of her attack options has her ditch the hammer and whale on the opponents with her fists. Similar to Masamune's Claws in that while she gets a new combo, she's unable to block.
* HarmfulToMinors: Saw her village burnt to the ground and people slaughtered, then got sucked into the horrors of war.
* AnIcePerson
* ImprobableAge: So why is a twelve year old girl the leader of a violent peasant uprising?
* ImprobableWeaponUser: It's a freakin' giant ''mallet''!
* InstantFanclub: They wear pink jackets and exist to scream her name.
* JapanesePronouns: 'Ora'
* LittleMissBadass
* MagicalGirl: Some of her attacks, as well as her alternate costume, resemble this. She even has a ''wand'' as one of her weapons.
* MissingMom: Implied to be dead.
* OnlyOneName
* TheOtherDarrin: Following TomokoKawakami's death in 2011, she will be voiced by MiyukiSawashiro.
* PluckyGirl
* PrecociousCrush: It's sometimes implied she has one on Masamune.
* PutOnABus: She isn't so much as mentioned in the third game. The manga seems to imply that Masamune convinced her to stop fighting.
* RebelLeader
* LaResistance: Heads a peasant rebellion against the oppressive samurai.
* TheRival: To Xavi, apparently...
* TohokuRegionalAccent: Makes her sound rough, crude and somewhat boyish.
* WhiteHairedPrettyGirl: Looks more silver than white in-game.

!!Imagawa Yoshimoto

-->Voiced by: KozoShioya (Japanese), BrianDrummond (''Devil Kings''), Barry Yandell (anime)

->''"Is my face so overwhelmingly refined?"''

An influential, yet idiotic man, and a coward to boot, who lives in a flamboyant fantasy world. Essentially, everybody wants to kill him.

Known as Muri in ''Devil Kings''.
-----
* DirtyCoward: Will substitute mooks for himself, while he runs away.
* EverythingsFunkierWithDisco: His basara involves him attempting some highly dangerous disco dancing.
* ImprobableWeapon: A giant folding fan.
* JapanesePronouns: 'Maro'
* JokeCharacter: Between this and the one in the ''SamuraiWarriors'' games it's easy to guess that the real Yoshimoto isn't the most highly regarded historical figure in Japan
* KilledOffForReal: In the third game, supposedly for the sake of canon.
* LightEmUp
* TooDumbToLive: Did he really think it would be a good idea to take on Masamune AND Yukimura?
* UpperClassTwit: Constantly talks about how he's from a good family and BlueBlood and all that, while being one of the weakest characters and a bumbling idiot at that.
* VerbalTic: Says "oja" a lot.

!!Hojo Ujimasa
[[quoteright:200:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hojoujimasa2_9743.bmp]]
-->Voiced by: Tadashi Miyazawa (Japanese), Louis Chirillo (''Devil Kings''), Jerry Russell (anime), William Knight (''Samurai Heroes'')

->''"I can hear it! I can hear the laughter of defeat approaching!"''

The old master of Odawara Castle and habitual employer of Fuuma Kotaro. Is constantly overshadowed by the others BadAss characters around him. Becomes a playable character in ''Utage''.

Known as Orwik in ''Devil Kings''.
-----
* ButtMonkey: He even lampshades this in his boss opening in ''3'', where he states that he just wants to win ''once''.
-->''"What's the problem? Why am I angry? I'll tell you why! Why can't I be the one who wins?!"''
* CrackOhMyBack: His bad back and its habit of giving out at the worst possible moment is a RunningGag.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: One of his main flaws. When accused of kidnapping Ieyasu in ''[=SB3=]'' and having Tadakatsu and the Tokugawa army knocking his door down, Ujimasa's response is to ''send Kotaro out to explain'' (for those of you who haven't read that far yet: Kotaro is ''[[TheVoiceless mute]]''). It works altogether less-than-stellar.
* GivingUpTheGhost: When he sneezes, his spirit momentarily leaves his body, then goes back in.
* GrumpyOldMan: Admittedly he has a hard time of it.
* AnIcePerson
* JapanesePronouns: 'Washi'
* JokeCharacter
** LethalJokeCharacter as of ''Utage''
* LargeHam
* MightyGlacier: He can however boost himself into a LightningBruiser.
* {{Necromancer}}: He can summon the ghosts of his ancestors to fight. Not that they help him in the anime...
** His 'Past Glory' Super art in ''Utage'' has him being possessed by one of his ancestor's spirit, greatly improving his moveset.
* NiceHat: Can wear a moxibustion hat to speed up his movements.
* RamblingOldManMonologue: Loves reminiscing about the days of yore to whoever happens to be there at the time.
* ShoutOut: If he performs said move while on his 'Past Glory' mode. He ends up surfing on his spear ala [[DragonBall Tao Pai Pai.]]
* SuperMode: His Past Glory mode, which, like Masamune's Six Claws stance, give him a more powerful moveset in exchange of being unable to block.
* [[ThrowingYourSwordAlwaysWorks Throwing Your Spear Always Works]]: One of his new moves in ''Utage'' has him throw his spear. He forgets to let go and ends up flying after it.
* TookALevelInBadass: Gameplay-wise in ''Utage'', where he can actually cause pretty bad damage.
* [[BladeOnAStick Twelve Blades on a Stick]]: His weapon is literally a bunch of swords stuck at the end of a pole. Needless to say, he wields it with difficulty.

!!Fuuma Kotaro
[[quoteright:200:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fuumakotarou_4803.bmp]]

->''"..."''

A mysterious legendary {{Ninja}}. He usually, but not always, works for the Hojo clan. Known specifically for being very good at his job, if a little ruthless (he doesn't seem to care who he kills as long as he completes his mission). He [[TheVoiceless never speaks]] and his face is [[HiddenEyes never shown]], so it's hard to tell what he's thinking. He's back in ''SengokuBasara 3'', siding with the Eastern Army since the Hojo allied with them. He even went as far as saving Tsuruhime, but it's still not clear what his purpose is.
-----
* AscendedExtra: From NPC to PC in the second expansion.
* {{Badass}}
** BadassArmFold: His idle animation.
* BlingOfWar: His belt, visor, shoulder guards and graves are intricately engraved with FlowerMotifs.
* BlowYouAway
* [[spoiler:BrownEyes]]
* CareerKiller: It seems his primary function (aside from delivering messages and stealing valuables) is an an assassin.
* DualWielding: Wields two [[EveryJapaneseSwordIsAKatana ninja-to]].
* EnigmaticMinion: Who he's working for varies from time to time, but particularly under Hisahide.
* FacialMarkings: Red markings on his cheeks and chin, which appear to be paint seeing as how they change with his outfits. In one case the stripes look like flames and he is given demonic fangs.
* FashionableAsymmetry: His left sleeve is inexplicably absent.
* FeatherMotif: Black feathers surround him wherever he goes. It's never explained why, however he is sometimes depicted with black wings and rumored to be a demon.
* FragileSpeedster
* FuumaShuriken: It's only natural he should wield one considering that they're ''named'' after him. Used a pair as an NPC, and a single much bigger one later on.
* HiddenEyes: Hidden beneath his helmet (though he does have eye slits).
* HiddenHeartOfGold: Somewhat implied in his devotion to protecting Tsuruhime, and the fact that he comes to Ujimasa's rescue despite the old man's pleas to retreat. Although, he ''could'' just be thinking about his money...
* ICanStillFight: When defeated, he'll try to stand up and continue fighting. He looks almost surprised to realise he's been hit.
* ItsProbablyNothing: Because of his speed most people just assume it's the wind passing through.
* LegacyImmortality: It's said that he's [[spoiler:not the first Fuuma Kotaro]].
* MysteriousProtector: Becomes this for Tsuruhime for some reason.
* {{Ninja}}
** FlashStep: His main asset, which borders on teleportation.
** WalkOnWater
* NonverbalMiscommunication: As he literally only either stares blankly or kicks ass, it's no wonder Ieyasu thought he was initially an enemy.
* PunchedAcrossTheRoom: Happens to him in the anime, when Takeda Shingen [[HomeRunHitter megaton punches]] him in the face. He probably would've flown a lot further if there hadn't been a wall in the way...
* ReverseGrip
* TheSpock: Whether he actually has feelings or not, he shows no emotion ''whatsoever''.
* TheVoiceless: It's implied he's mute, but not explained why.
** VisibleSilence: "............" is his only reaction.
* WingedHumanoid: As noted above, he is given four black wings in [[http://i979.photobucket.com/albums/ae279/hollowchan/img077.jpg one of his outfits]] from ''Heroes''.

!!Matsunaga Hisahide
[[quoteright:200:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hisahide_1219.png]]
-->Voiced by: KeijiFujiwara (Japanese) KentWilliams (anime)

->''"It is good to have desires... no matter how you look at it, all men will die soon."''

Known as the "Villain of the Sengoku Era" and rightly so. A very shrewd man who will stop at nothing to get what he wants, he's responsible for most of the bad karma hanging around in ''Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes''. Seems to like kidnapping people and tying them to pillars. ''Utage'' will mark the first time he's been playable.
-----
* AlasPoorYorick: At one point in the anime he plays around with [[spoiler:Nobunaga]]'s skull while monologuing. Apparently planned to make it into a ''sake'' cup.
* AntiquatedLinguistics: In the anime dub.
* AscendedExtra: Hisahide is a fan favorite despite not being playable in his appearance. His inclusion in ''Utage'' as a playable character is met with MUCH praise.
* BeardOfEvil: Like Nobunaga, he has some evil facial hair.
* BetterToDieThanBeKilled: He'd rather blow himself up than give his enemy the pleasure of offing him.
* ButForMeItWasTuesday: In the anime, claims to have no memory of the incident that proved Hideyoshi's StartOfDarkness. Then again, he could've just been screwing with Keiji.
* CardCarryingVillain
* CoolSword: Among the various {{Improbable Weapon User}}s of this universe he uses a long, fashionable longsword.
* TheCollectorOfTheStrange: Collects various different antiques and famous artifacts, but also collects ''people''.
** Taken to an extreme in ''Utage'', where he's now collecting metaphysical objects like bonds and names, like his [[spoiler:taking Mitsuhide's real name and turning him into Tenkai]] and [[spoiler:robbing Mitsunari of his bond with Ieyasu by killing him in his story mode.]]
* CombatPragmatist: Strong opponent poses a threat? Poison them!
* CompanionCube: His beloved teapot, named 'Hiragumo'. He even talks to it and carries pieces of it around with him after it shatters.
* CrazyPrepared: Blows himself up when [[spoiler:Kojuro]] ultimately bests him in the first season of the anime... [[spoiler:only to turn up at the ruins of Azuchi, completely fine, in the second season, with no more than a HandWave as to how he survived.]]
* DramaticPause: He speaks very sloooowly and often leaves overly long gaps in between words or even syllables.
* EvillyAffable: He's polite, sophisticated and genteel. Shame he's such an ass...
* EvilLaugh
* FashionableAsymmetry: His alternating black, white and yellow outfit.
* FingerSnapLighter: The claws on his left hand serve this purpose.
* FoeYay: He certainly seems to relish the idea of beating up Kojuro a little too much in the anime. There's also the way he whispers salaciously to Mitsunari [[spoiler:when he's got him pinned underfoot]] in ''Utage''.
* ForTheEvulz: He doesn't have a whole lot to gain by ruining everybody else's life or stealing their things, as he believes nothing lasts forever. He's just doing it because it's fun and because he can.
* {{Guyliner}}: The latest renders of him seem to sport this quite thickly.
* HannibalLecture: Gives one to Yukimura in the anime (while playing with [[spoiler:Nobunaga's]] skull for added effect). It doesn't quite stick, but nevertheless it helps [[BreakTheCutie break Yukimura's confidence]].
** As a playable character he's spewing them out left, right and centre.
* HavingABlast
* HistoricalVillainUpgrade: While the historical Hisahide was a villainous trickster, he certainly wasn't as much of a dick as he is here.
* [[IHaveYourWife I Have Your Mooks]]: He kidnaps several Date soldiers in order to get his hands on Masamune's swords. Also, he was bored.
* JapanesePronouns: 'Watashi'
* KatanasAreJustBetter: Subverted: He carries one (a [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tachi tachi]] specifically) but his real weapon is actually a straight longsword.
* {{Leitmotif}}: In the anime he has a pretty awesome, if rather eerie, theme that follows him whenever he appears.
* ManipulativeBastard: He's the reason Hideyoshi became DrunkWithPower and [[spoiler:killed his wife]]. He also saps Masamune's will to fight and almost drives Kojuro to [[{{Seppuku}} suicide]].
* NeckLift: One of his moves in ''Utage'' consists of lifting the struggling character by the neck one-handed before immolating them. He picks up Ieyasu this way in story mode.
* NietzscheWannabe: Constantly waxes about how fleeting and transient the world is and at the end of the day everything and everyone is just a disposable object that will eventually vanish into obscurity.
* NonchalantDodge: He moves extremely quickly but makes it seem like little effort.
* OminousWalk: The only character who can walk as well as run. Looks like he's just taking a leisurely stroll through the battlefield.
* PlayingWithFire
** KillItWithFire: [[spoiler:What he does to Ieyasu.]]
* SkunkStripe: Several, probably due to aging.
* StuffBlowingUp: Happens a lot when he's around, probably as a reference to the historical Hisahide's death (he's said to have [[BetterToDieThanBeKilled blown himself up]], becoming Japan's first ever bomb victim).
** [[spoiler: After defeating Nobunaga he blows him up at the end of his story.]]
* SuicideAttack: How he dies in the anime. Also a case of BetterToDieThanBeKilled. [[spoiler: The second season reveals it was all a ruse.]]
** In ''Utage'', his death animation has him blowing himself up.
* WickedCultured: He's erudite with gentlemanly manners, very knowledgeable about these priceless artefacts he collects and genuinely appreciates them aesthetically. Also seems to be a Buddhist.
* WithMyHandsTied: Specifically, he always keeps one of his arms behind his back, only using it for [[FingerSnapLighter snapping]] or [[NeckLift choking]].

-->Voiced by: DaisukeNamikawa (Japanese), Sean Michael Teague (anime)

->''"I'm the strongest ever, you moron!"''

A young swordsman who can be randomly encountered throughout ''Sengoku Basara 2''. He is eager to prove that he is the best in the world, and as such ambushes anyone he comes across and makes them fight him. Thinks everyone else is an idiot.
-----
* AnimeHair
* AscendedExtra: Briefly becomes playable in the ''Heroes'' expansions.
* BatterUp: His Basara Attack, which has him not only swing what might be a tree trunk as a bat, but chucks it at the enemy.
* BrattyHalfPint: He's so annoying most characters can't stand it long enough to even duel him.
* CatchPhrase: "[[{{Baka}} BAKA!]]"
* CherryTapping: His taunt, which is a spit to the ground can actually cause some damage. He even has an item that boosts its power.
* ConfusionFu: In the anime Yukimura finds him difficult to fight since he can't predict Musashi's next move.
* DualWielding: Though he seems to have a limitless supply of weapons, which he chucks randomly at the enemy.
* FacialMarkings: Red stripes on his cheeks, rather like warpaint.
* IShallTauntYou
* JapanesePronouns: 'Ore-sama'
* MightyGlacier: A majority of his moves are either rather slow or have lengthy recovery time.
* OddNameOut: He's probably the only playable character without an element.
* PutOnABus: No word on his whereabouts during the events of the third game onwards.
* SurferDude: He talks like one in the anime dub.
* ToBeAMaster
* TrouserSpace: Activating his Basara Attack causes him to pull some sort of giant broom from the front of his pants. That thing's gotta scratch...
* ThrowingYourSwordAlwaysWorks: Yes. Yes it does.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: All he wears are his sleeves and a {{sarashi}} after all.
* WalkingTheEarth: Travels far and wide in his search for strong opponents.
* WildCard: He's technically a {{ronin}} and doesn't answer to anyone, doing things his own way.
* WoodenKatanasAreEvenBetter: As with his historical counterpart, he wields a pair of these. His best weapons however are a pair of plain-looking katanas though.
* WorfEffect: In one scene of the anime he's fighting soldiers along with Yoshihiro... and is send flying by ''a bunch of mooks'' as soon as he's distracted.
* WorthyOpponent: The reason he goes round challenging everyone is so he can find one of these. He appears to have discovered them in the form of Naoe Kanetsugu.

!! SasakiKojiro

Introduced in ''Battle Heroes'' as NPC. The man who fought a legendary duel against MiyamotoMusashi at Ganryujima.
-----
* AnticlimaxBoss: He is the last boss in Musashi's story mode, so he must be hard, [[SarcasmMode right]]?
* [[spoiler:DefeatMeansFriendship: Musashi befriends Kojiro after defeating him. They shake hands before ending credits.]]
* EliteMook.
* {{Expy}}: Of Naoe Kanetsugu, who is absent in this game. He shares the same personality and "I am invincible!" CatchPhrase.
* JokeCharacter: EliteMook as a last boss.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Musashi calls him only by his alternate name "Ganryu."
* TheRival: To Musashi.

!!Honganji Kennyo
[[quoteright:200:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kennyo1_4780.PNG]]
-->Voiced by: Shinpachi Tsuji (Japanese)

Leader of the Ikko monks, he's a huge, fat man who cares only about gold and wealth and stores lots of gold in his fortress.
-----
* CarryABigStick: His weapon is a "khakkhara", a huge monk staff with a large iron ring attached to it.
* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome
* FatBastard: According to him it's all muscle though.
* [[HistoricalVillainUpgrade Historical Jerkass Upgrade]]: Well, Kennyo was supposed to be the leader of the anti-Nobunaga monks but here he's just a fat jerk who has only money in mind.
* HomoeroticSubtext: He sure has a lot of fun admiring the other male characters' muscular physiques.
* HumongousMecha: Keeps two huge, moving golden Nio statues in his fortress.
* JapanesePronouns: 'Sessha'
* LargeAndInCharge
* LightIsNotGood: Not really evil, just greedy.
* MrViceGuy: He's really, ''really'' obsessed with money.
* NunTooHoly: He's supposed to be the chief abbot of the Ikko sect....
* SacrificialLamb: Gets killed off in the first minutes of anime episode 1, just to show what a sick bastard Mitsuhide is.

!!Saika Magoichi
[[quoteright:200:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/saikamagoichi_4340.bmp]]
-->Voiced by: SayakaOhara (Japanese), KarenStrassman (English)

->''"Let the bell toll for the proud Saika Faction! Soon, you will know the superior strength we possess!"''

A new playable character in ''[=SB3=]''. The third leader of the Saika Ikki, a group of gun-toting mercenaries and... apparently female. Seems to be the SpiritualSuccessor to Nouhime. A strong and independent woman with great pride and honour, she has relationships with many other characters in the series.
-----
* ActionGirl
* AnachronismStew: Even for this game. Machine gun? Heat seeking rocket launcher? One of her Super Arts involves calling in air support!
* AnimalMotifs[=/=]AnimalThemeNaming: Her skills and weapons are named after birds. She also has a habit of giving people bird nicknames.
* {{Badass}}: Oh is she ever.
** BadassBoast
--> '''''"Oda Nobunaga, I will fill you up with lead and send you back to hell!!"'''''
* BareYourMidriff and SexyBacklessOutfit
* BloodKnight: War is the Saika's way of life, as she will never fail to remind you. However she does admit it's a harsh and undesirable one.
* ChewingTheScenery: When facing Nobunaga... boy oh boy, Maggie's having a hell of a time screaming on how she's going to kick his ass back to Hell...
* CoolBigSis: To Tsuruhime.
* [[spoiler:TheDanza: Motochika implies her former name, before she took up the title of Magoichi, was Sayaka.]]
** [[spoiler:[[DoNotCallMePaul Don't Call Me Sayaka]]]]
* DopeSlap: Punches Motochika on the head and tells him to get a grip during his HeroicBSOD. It's really kinda adorable.
* FieryRedhead: She's calmer than most, but definitely fits when she gets her ActionGirl on.
* FingerlessGloves
* GenderFlip: Through loophole exploitation; the three men historically known to have used the name Magoichi Saika appear as officers in her stage
* GlassCannon
* GunFu: One of her skills involves spin-kicking her opponent upwards then shooting them full of holes while they're still airborne. And that's just ''one'' of them.
* TheGunslinger: Type B - [[MoreDakka The Vaporizer]] and Type C - [[GunFu The Woo]].
* HiredGuns: Has worked for both the Oda and the Toyotomi in the past. Neither ended well (Toyotomi's reasons are unknown but Nobunaga [[spoiler:personally killed the previous Magoichi]]).
* HotAmazon: At least for Keiji, who falls in love with her immediately after she delivers a flying kick to his face. Masamune also admits that her strength and attitude are major turn-ons.
* HyperspaceArsenal: She carries enough things that go boom in {{hammerspace}} to equip a small infantry platoon.
* JapanesePronouns: Interesting example, she always uses the plural pronoun 'warera', since the Saika see themselves as one individually and collectively.
* LadyOfWar: Her moves are dynamic but at the same time extremely graceful.
* MaleGaze: The shots of her in the game opening are pure, unabashed {{fanservice}}.
** And when Keiji meets her, the camera zooms straight in on the first three places that catch his eye: boobs, belly, and butt. It happens again at the end of his story when he's "checking for injuries".
* MacrossMissileMassacre
* MoreDakka: She carries six pistols strapped to her thigh (which she uses [[BeyondTheImpossible all at the same time]]), a shotgun, a [[AnachronismStew machine gun and a rocket launcher]].
* MsFanservice: Not as blatant as Kasuga, but Maggie sure as hell is fanservicey.
* {{Nakama}}: The Saika Faction.
* OfCorsetsSexy: And she apparently keeps it on with sheer willpower.
* PlayingWithFire
* ShipTease: With Keiji, who is madly in love with her but, depending on which path you choose, still has far to go. Surprisingly quite a bit with Motochika too.
* ShowgirlSkirt: Makes her outfit look more feminine and elegant. And swishes dramatically in the wind.
* TheStoic: Normally appears serious and unflappable, and speaks with an almost robotic tone. She doesn't even blink when Mitsunari puts his sword to her throat.
** NotSoStoic: Shows obvious terror when Nobunaga comes back and has a hard time calming herself down.
* StuffBlowingUp
* SugarAndIcePersonality: Has a much softer side underneath her cold exterior, which she only keeps up due to her position.
* ThrowawayGuns: Her pistols are this. They can even cause damage if they hit enemies when she throws them.

!! Kobayakawa Hideaki
[[quoteright:200:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kobayakawahideaki_8207.bmp]]
-->Voiced by: JunFukuyama (Japanese), TonyOliver (English)

->''"Oh no! You shouldn't count on me!"''

New NPC introduced in ''[=SB3=]''. He is a young and cowardly relative of the Toyotomi, who famously betrayed Mitsunari at Sekigahara. Afraid of war, he seeks advice from the monk Tenkai and his guardian Motonari, unaware that he is little more than an intrument to their plans. Likes gourmet food and preparing hotpot.
-----
* AscendedExtra: To become a PC in ''Utage''.
* AnimalMotifs: His helmet and the giant saucepan on his back make him resemble an atlas beetle, which are highly prized in Japan.
* ApologisesALot: Sometimes tries to stand up for himself, only to fall to the ground and start begging to be spared.
* BigEater: Prefers to eat the stress away...
* ButtMonkey: ''Everyone'' treats him horribly. Aside from [[TheMessiah Ieyasu]] (who still has Tadakatsu shoot artillery cannons at him, to ensure that he betrays Mitsunari).
** [[http://spikefetish.tumblr.com/post/2905788944/sengoku-basara-samurai-heroes-ps3-wii-good Motonari]] and [[http://spikefetish.tumblr.com/post/2905345808/sengoku-basara-samurai-heroes-ps3-wii Mitsunari]] though are the worst offenders.
* ConfusionFu: In ''Utage'', he fights with a combination of his own clumsiness and weaponizing his eating habits.
* CuteShotaroBoy: Baffling as it sounds, when he's not being a gutless coward there are moments he's so cute it's ''painful''.
* DirtyCoward: It's hard not to [[LovableCoward sympathise with him a bit]], since he's surrounded on all sides by [[WorldOfBadass people much stronger than he is]] bullying him into fighting for them, and only wants to eat his hotpot in peace. However he [[TemptingFate does himself no favors]] by acting self-important, and is so pathetically weak and indecisive he becomes [[TheLoad a burden to everyone else]].
* EdibleBludgeon: Can throw vegetables as weapons.
* ExtremeDoormat: So much so that Motonari actually walks over him in one scene. In high heels no less.
* FragileFlower: A male example, played for comedy. He cries at the slightest provocation, but it makes him more annoying than {{moe}}.
* FryingPanOfDoom: Fights with the pot he uses for cooking.
* GetBackHereBoss
* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: Pulls one of these at Sekigahara, though he's not given much of a choice since Tadakatsu is firing cannons at him.
** [[spoiler:Averted in the movie]]. He's [[spoiler:trying to do good]] but his own failure to realize that [[spoiler:Tenkai is manipulating him]] causes him to be a UnwittingPawn.
* HomoeroticSubtext: He really ''really'' looks up to Kojuro-san.
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: '''How''' does he not realise Tenkai does not have his best interests at heart?!
** He realizes it in the movie when [[spoiler:he sees the dark hands Oichi uses rampage across Sekigahara]].
* JapanesePronouns: 'Boku'
* TheKlutz: About 80% of his moveset consists of falling over.
* LethalJokeCharacter: Despite the above method of attack, he's a great crowd-clearer.
* MistakenForBadass: Thanks to Tenkai, most of the characters he meets during his story think he's some legendarily strong warrior and want to fight him.
* OddFriendship: With Tenkai, who Hideaki seems to genuinely consider a friend and care for.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Like Yoshitsugu, he's known by his court title "Kingo" to almost everyone in the Japanese version.
* PlayingWithFire
* ScreamsLikeALittleGirl
* SelectiveObliviousness: During his story mode it takes him so long to catch onto the situation he becomes borderline TooDumbToLive.

!! Mogami Yoshiaki
[[quoteright:200:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mogamiyoshiaki_3225.bmp]]
-->Voiced by: TetsuShiratori (Japanese), Christopher Smith (English)

->''"There are none in this world that compare to me, the renowned, the feared, lord Yoshiaki!"''

Yet another NPC introduced ''[=SB3=]''. He is the daimyo of Ushuu and Masamune's uncle, though they dislike each other. An extremely pompous man who seems to think he's number one, fabulous and likes to get his men to look fabulous and well-cultured. Has a funky moustache and wields a rapier. Likes tea.
-----
* AnnoyingLaugh: A high-pitched "Ahahaha!"
* AscendedExtra: Becomes playable in ''Utage''.
* CloudCuckoolander
* CombatPragmatist: His fighting style is based mostly upon using feints, counterattacks and generally being unpredictable.
* CunningLikeAFox: Describes himself as such. In the English version, he's called as a weasel instead.
* TheDandy: Ironic, considering he's much less attractive than most.
* DastardlyWhiplash: If only he had a top hat...
* DefensiveFeintTrap: One of his techniques has him groveling on the ground for forgiveness only to counter-attack when hit.
* DisproportionateRetribution: He refuses to give [[spoiler:Kanbe]] his key back, simply because the latter called Yoshiaki's pet hawk "stupid".
* EntitledBastard: Thinks that, after causing Masamune so much trouble, he should consider it an honour that Yoshiaki wants to team up with him.
* EverythingsBetterWithSpinning: His final attack causes a huge, tornado-shaped blizzard.
* EvilUncle: He plans to usurp Masamune's province first chance he gets.
* FeatheredFiend: His falcon, Starlight Starbright, which seems to go out of its way to troll Kanbe.
* AnIcePerson
* IdentityAmnesia: After [[NoOneCouldSurviveThat landing head first]] in the Nation of Xavism, Yoshiaki loses his memories and styles himself a guardian angel. Sorin buys it.
* ISurrenderSuckers: One of his moves involves insincerely pleading for his life before delivering a wicked strike
* JapanesePronouns: 'Wagahai'
* LookBehindYou: One of his new moves.
* MartialArtsAndCrafts: Can carve ice sculptures of himself around opponents.
* NotSoHarmless: He was the one who [[spoiler:kidnapped Matsu and blamed it on Ieyasu.]]
* ObfuscatingStupidity: Essentially his fighting style, especially in ''Utage,'' where he has such moves as LookBehindYou, playing dead, and pretending to stumble before attacking.
* OverlyLongName: Has a habit of giving his pets, weapons and attacks these in the Japanese version.
* RoyalRapier: Which he claims is [[BlatantLies much heavier than it looks]].
* RunningGag: His story mode has him being punched/thrown/[[HumanCannonball fired out of a cannon]], becoming a TwinkleInTheSky and flying (sometimes across the whole country!) toward his next destination.
* SissyVillain: When it comes down to it he's really not that brave.
* SmallNameBigEgo: He's almost impossibly arrogant, despite how he always fails pitifully, going on and on about how wonderful and amazing he is and how everyone loves him (when they clearly don't).
* SpotOfTea: Will even offer it to his enemies.
* TermsOfEndangerment: Calls Masamune "my dear boy" and other fond names, concealing their dislike of each other.
* TwinkleSmile
* UpperClassTwit: What his persona seems to be based on, due to his high-and-mighty mannerisms.
