!Main Characters

An experienced solo Vanguard and the main character of Sacred Earth - Promise.
----
* BrokenAce: She's one of the most powerful and skilled Vanguards, but she's also carrying a lot of guilt over unwittingly goading Perrine into venturing into Icefall Labyrinth when they were younger, causing their father to get injured. Having to put up with other Vanguards' jealousy also caused her to become distrustful of other people and unwilling to show weakness. She opens up more to Perrine in the ending, making the broken part downplayed.
* CoolSword: Or hot sword, since her blade is made of lava.
* CripplingOverspecialization: Her only earth elemental moves are magic-based, but her magic damage is the lowest, meaning she doesn't fare well against late game enemies that resist fire. Fortunately, very few bosses have fire resistance, making her the best damager in most cases anyway.
* ElementalPowers:
** PlayingWithFire: Her main element is fire, and the majority of her skills are of that element.
** DishingOutDirt: She can use earth EP Arts and has some slight resistance to earth attacks.
* MightyGlacier: She has low agility, but has the best physical damage output of the party while having good defenses.
* TallPoppySyndrome: Many of her fellow Vanguards ostracize her for being a powerful dragonkin and refuse to work with her.

Priel's younger estranged sister, who often attends church.
----
* ElementalPowers:
** BlowYouAway: Her main element is wind and her physical attacks are all wind elemental.
** LightEmUp: Her secondary element is light.
* MutualEnvy: It's often noted that Perrine feels inferior to her more accompished sister, but Priel admits that Perrine's ability to admit weakness is something she lacks.
* SaveTheVillain: After she and Priel defeat Isole, she heals the harpy and tries to come to an understanding with her. Unfortunately, Isole immediately tries to attack her again.
* SquishyWizard: She has low physical defense and all of her offensive actions, including her chain attack, rely on her magic stat. Her high magic stats make her ideal for using spell chains to deal group damage to the enemy.
* Tsundere:
** Despite being estranged from Priel and having an inferiority complex towards her, she does want her to return home and gets along with her better towards the end of the game.
** Downplayed towards Gunnar, who she has a crush on. While she rarely gets angry with him, she does get agitated whenever anyone brings up her obvious crush.

A former student who is currently teaming up with Caith to catch the people who robbed their academy.
----
* TheChosenOne:
* ElementalPowers:
** MakingASplash: She can use water magic and her first EX Art is a water/magic damage skill.
** CastingAShadow: Her normal attacks, second EX Art, and one of her spells deal dark damage.
* FriendlyNeighborhoodVampire: She became a vampire through unknown means, but is a trusted ally of the Aylin sisters.
* LifeDrain: Her second EX Art drains LF while dealing dark damage.
* MagicKnight: Relima has both a magic based EX Art and a physical based EX Art, unlike the other two Promise party members who have EX Arts of the same type.
* TheStraightAndArrowPath: She wields a dark elemental bow.
* SupportPartyMember: Her Arcane Barrier and Inspire Skills are the most powerful support EP Arts in Promise. Though she can do good damage against those weak against her elements.

A rookie vanguard and the elder Myrrine twin.
----
* CoolSword: She wields an ice elemental sword.
* OnlyFriend: She's one of the few Vanguards who gets along with Priel.

A rookie vanguard and the younger Myrrine twin.

* ObliviousToLove: He has no idea Perrine has a crush on him and mistakens her flustered behavior for hostility.

![=NPCs=]

Perrine and Relima's childhood friend, who returns home in the hopes of taking down Forneus. His real name is Lucis.
----
* DefeatMeansFriendship: Or refriendship. After the party defeats him and drives away Forneus, he realizes he was foolish to push away his friends in order to become strong, and decides to make up with them.
* DualBoss: In Promise. He fights alongside a controllable suit of armor, the Adjudicator. When either of them falls, the other gets a permanent buff.
* EnemyMine: Like Relima and Caith, he holds Balcruade and Zuleika in contempt for stealing from the academy, but teams up with them in order to stand a chance against Forneus.
* FreudianExcuse: He was nearly killed by Forneus in the past, causing him to become even more obsessed with power so he can defeat the beast and overcome his past.
* GameplayAndStorySegregation: He claims he wasn't going to kill the party, yet his victory will still result in a game over. This could be justified due to Forneus being nearby, who could potentially finish off the weakened party.
* IJustWantToBeYou: Combined with IJustWantToBeSpecial. He admits he always admired and envied Priel's strength, and wanted to be just as badass as her. He chose his nickname, "Fate," because of his desire to be seen as strong and cool.
* LightEmUp: He has light spells and EX Skills.
* LimitBreak: On Nightmare mode at least, he can use an unnamed Exceed Limit during his boss battle.
* NotSoDifferent: Priel notes that he shares her flaws of trying to project strength at the cost of properly connecting with others and claiming to be a lone wolf while actually relying on others.
