The T tetrimino just turns into a longer version of itself, not an X.

* MeaningfulName: The letter X is generally used in Japanese media to indicate a crossover[[note]]Just look at ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros''.[[/note]]. [[spoiler:Given that he's the one responsible for the worlds of ''Puyo Puyo'' and ''Tetris'' combining, it's a very apropos name.]] That being said, if you were to put a single block over a flat T-Tetrimino, you'd get an X-Pentomino (which can happen in-game if one is afflicted with the "Pentominoes" item effect), further strengthening his relation to Tee. The Letter X is also the 24th letter of the alphabet, referencing his status as the 24th character in ''Puyo Tetris''.

* TranquilFury: Right after Ess yells at him in ''Tetris'', Tee yells back. However when Ess calls him "Useless" His voice goes quiet and he adopts a more monotone expression but it's clear that he's ''pissed''. This is the angriest we've ever seen him.

* BlackAndWhiteInsanity: Squares genuinely doesn't understand why everyone is fighting against him. He sees a world of absolute order as the best possible solution, and their actions are confusing at best and downright malicious (to him) at worst. In the EX chapter, he laments having behaved this way.
* BornAsAnAdult: Marle created him in his current form, and this leads to the major reason ''why'' he is so petulant and specific about Order. For all intents and purposes, Squares is basically a child in an adult body.

* EasilyForgiven: For all his past misdeeds and his threats to erase the cast from existence, the protagonists warm up to him pretty easily near the end.

* EasilyForgiven: For all his past misdeeds and his threats to erase the cast from existence, the protagonists warm up to him pretty easily near the end. Much of their reason for this is his FreudianExcuse (see below).

* GooGooGodlike: By the end of the narrative, just as everyone manage to start defeating Squares in a series of battles to weaken his power, the group realizes that Squares ''physically'' resembles a grown adult man, but is no different than a baby. He lacks any form of self-awareness, life experience, or moral understanding, and his actions are that of a confused child trying to give his mom exactly what he thinks she wants mixed with the mentality of an adult's abstract reasoning

It's only towards the end of the story that she realizes she was basically his mom, and he never got the proper moral framework or context to understand why things don't have to be absolutely orderly.
