* ThrowTheDogABone: Even though his modern-day portrayals tend to be less-than-flattering, he's been given a chance to shine in COVID-19-centered comics as he's had one of the best responses to the pandemic to counteract his catastrophic infection rate. His multiple victories in 2021 ranging from [[UsefulNotes/EuropeanChampionship EURO 2020]] to the Series/EurovisionSongContest have also been noted.

* UnclePennybags: Has far more money than even "[[FanNickname Germoney]]".

* NonstandardCharacterDesign: Poland (or [[FanNickname "Polan"]]) is almost always drawn upside-down (ie. red over white). Drawing him correctly is considered "cancer" and is prohibited on r/Polandball.
** The original artist probably drew the Polish flag incorrectly in his first few strips. The depiction caught on quickly due to it drawing ire from Polish users, and the rest is history.

* ButtMonkey: Ever since the famous comic made by /u/FVBLT [[http://i.imgur.com/BPxF5TV.png Portugal]], both in-universe nations and Polandball fans have loved dumping on the [[FanNickname "worthless shit-rectangle"]].

* InSeriesNickname: Eesti.[[note]]"Estonia" in Estonian[[/note]]

* [[IJustWantToBeSpecial I Just Want To Be Nordic]]: One of Estonia's most recurring character traits is a desire to be considered one of the Nordic countries[[note]]normally, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Greenland, the Faroes, and Finland are considered to be Nordic countries[[/note]].

* RealMenWearPink: Manages to be a sensitive, Music/{{ABBA}}-loving progressive and a hard-drinking neo-viking simultaneously.

* NotSoDifferent: While his general attitude toward Sweden is beleaguered resentment, he has a prominent Swedish-speaking minority.

* MixedAncestry: He has Arabic ancestry mixed with Italian, French and British. Though he really loathes his Arab roots.
