* CorruptTheCutie: Once he realises her potential, Swan gleefully seduces her [[spoiler: in the hope of taking her voice for his own]].own]] after the opening concert.
* DealWithTheDevil: Phoenix, still riding the high from the crowd's adoration after her first show, says she'll do anything for Swan if he can only give her a crowd like that again.
* DoingItForTheArt: Phoenix wants to be a singer, and she's particularly enamored of Winslow's songs. It's implied that one of the reasons she came back after her first [[CastingCouch disastrous]] audition was to keep singing them, even if it was only as a backup singer. And when she actually does a show, the feeling is so great she wants to keep on going, even in the face of the Phantom's seeming threats.

* PluckyGirl: Although she was nearly forced onto the CastingCouch by Philbin in her first audition, she went back a second time--and floors everyone with her singing.

* EveryoneHasStandards: At least when it comes to music--when Beef's concerned that singing a song meant for someone else would change the meaning Philbin says nobody cares about music or lyrics having any meaning anymore and Beef (who's been in the industry awhile) is genuinely offended, telling the consigliore to dry up and calling him "tubbo".

The trope, "Darth Vader Clone" was attributed to the Phantom. The description itself acknowledges that the Phantom was released first. Someone acknowledging that the trope doesn't fit excuses the fact that the trope doesn't fit? The description of the trope Darth Vader Clone states: "A character archetype inspired by the eponymous Star Wars character." If anything, Darth Vader took inspiration from the Phantom. The trope, "Darth Vader Clone" doesn't fit. In fact, it's the complete opposite. Removed due to being factually wrong. Listing Darth Vader Clone as a trait of the Phantom leaves the impression that the Phantom is a ripoff of Darth Vader. This sets a dangerous precedent of confusion and misinformation. Furthermore, describing things that have nothing to do with Star Wars in terms of Star Wars tropes seems like a strongarm tactic by the Star Wars fandom to accept Star Wars as the standard for art. There are tropes and art that exist outside of Star Wars. We do not need to explain things in terms of Star Wars tropes, especially when they don't fit.

* DarthVaderClone: Despite this movie coming out four years before ''Film/ANewHope'', The Phantom fits this trope perfectly, with black costume, helmet and heavy breathing.
