* KarmaHoudiniWarranty: Thanks to their [[VillainWithGoodPublicity public reputation]], they never got any comeuppance for their actions, ''at all''. However, that changed in Lúcio's backstory, [[KickTheSonOfABitch where he stole their stuff and drove Vishkar out of his favela]].
* KickTheSonOfABitch: Is on the receiving end of this by Lúcio. He stole one of their technologies to drive them away from the favela they're trying to renovate, [[TheDogBitesBack which he happens to be from]]. Most people outside the company who would otherwise think that stealing is bad would instead side with the thief and think, "Serves Vishkar right for making people suffer."

** Anubis is thought to have turned for the nuclear option as a solution for its task, which was conservation of nature. That is, it saw that it could not complete its task as long as humans existed, and set out to remove the obstacle for its goal.

Moved to a better fitting trope.

* EveryoneHatesHades: For those who know Myth/EgyptianMythology, Anubis is actually a neutral and fair, if eerie, Death God. In here, it's an evil, malicious AI program.

For Want Of A Nail cleanup, finding appropriate new trope.

* ForWantOfANail: There are two things that led to Overwatch's downfall — the kidnapping and brainwashing of Amélie Lacroix and the leaking of Blackwatch's files to the public by Gabriel Reyes. These resulted in a chain of events led to the elimination of key member Gérard Lacroix, as well as Ana Amari and Reinhardt as active members, and turned the United Nations against Overwatch. From that point forward, terrorist organization Talon was able to reign unopposed due to the fact that Gérard, their biggest opposition, was handily eliminated by his wife Amélie. As stated by Mercy, from that point onward, the downfall of Overwatch was inevitable.
** However, the fall started even earlier — Jack Morrison being picked as leader of Overwatch for his charisma and idealism, and Gabriel, [[WeUsedToBeFriends Jack's best friend]] with actual leadership experience who was the strike team leader until that point, being put in [[NoSuchAgency Blackwatch]]. This led to Gabriel's (very) slow development of jealously and resentment, feeling starved of the recognition he deserved. Combine the above two events with Ana's "death" and Reinhardt being forced into retirement due to advancing age, and you've got a lot of shit hitting the proverbial fan.

* ForWantOfANail: The revival of their ArchEnemy Overwatch after the failure of Reaper's mission can be attributed to the one Talon operative who [[BananaPeel slipped on a banana peel]] by accident while restraining Winston, allowing him to break free and thwart their plans. If it wasn't for him, the whole operation would've gone on without a hitch and all former Overwatch agents could very well have been killed.

They've been periodically fought and put under "quarantine", but it's clear that they're still out there, ready to strike and bring the Crisis back at any given moment. removing outdated Five Man Band tree, dewicking The Chick

* FiveManBand: Before it grew into an international peacekeeping organization, Overwatch started as a five-person strike team:
** Jack Morrison is TheLeader, acting as the "face" while leading and coordinating missions, and also stepping into the fray when necessary.
** Gabriel Reyes is TheLancer, Morrison's best friend who is exceptionally ruthless and not known for his good personality. He is however very skilled and acted as the Strike Commander while on operations, as well as being the one who'd do the DirtyBusiness for the team.
*** When the first Omnic Crisis started out, the position was reversed: Reyes was TheLeader, while Morrison was TheLancer. However, Morrison's charisma and idealism caused him to be designated as the leader with Reyes as his NumberTwo. [[spoiler:Resentment at this eventually caused Reyes to betray the team.]]
** Reinhardt Wilhelm is both TheBigGuy and TheHeart, the hulking knight who soaks up damage for his friends as well as the one who kept the moral fiber of Overwatch. His retirement marks the start of where Overwatch would fall apart due to inner quarrel.
** Torbjörn Lindholm is TheSmartGuy, with a brilliant mind for mechanical devices including his famous turrets. His history of working with Omnics helped the team know the best ways to combat them.
** Ana Amari is TheChick, not only because she's the sole female but also because of her conflicted emotions whenever she has to take a life. She prefers keeping her distance in combat as a sniper.
