Though it's averted again as while she admits to herself to have been jealous, Haruhi had already figured out her feelings for Tamaki before, with her jealousy towards Kanoya only serving to reaffirm those feelings.

* ObliviousToLove: Tamaki is convinced that he thinks of Haruhi as a "daughter" when in reality he is actually ''in love with her''.

* AscendedExtra: A minor character in the original manga. She gets more scenes in the anime, though in the manga most of those scenes were originally Tamaki's.

* MistakenForGay: Variation. Ryouji IS genuinely attracted to men, and he would rattle off so often about guys he liked to her that Kotoko couldn't understand why he kept inviting her to have meals with him. Ryouji was a bit disgruntled to learn that the idea he was bi and actively trying to pursue a relationship with her hadn't crossed her mind.
