[[spoiler:It's later on revealed that he is the legendary gladiator Kyros, who won three thousand straight battles in the colosseum without suffering a single blow. He eventually married one of the princesses of the kingdom -- Scarlett, and they would have a child together: Rebecca. However, everyone forgot his existence when Sugar turned him into a toy, and Scarlett would later on be killed by Doflamingo's forces. [[folder:Nefertari Vivi]]
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Nefertari_Vivi_3668.jpg
->Voiced by: MisaWatanabe (JP), Karen Neill (EN, 4Kids), Creator/CaitlinGlass (EN, Funi)

The princess of Alabasta, Nefertari Vivi is a very close friend of the Straw Hats, and loves her country very deeply. She has a very kind nature, to the point where she has trouble coming up with insults and tries to solve problems non-violently, which is somewhat ironic as she was something of a troublemaker as a child. She often gave little speeches about responsibility while traveling with the Straw Hats, but she does not like public speaking.

When it became clear that the organization Baroque Works was egging on a rebellion in her country, she and her caretaker, Igaram, went undercover and infiltrated the organization as Ms. Wednesday and Mr. 8, respectively, in order to find out who was pulling the strings. She eventually discovered that the Warlord of the Sea Crocodile was behind everything, but her cover was blown and she joined up with the Straw Hats and enlisted their help, ultimately resulting in Crocodile's defeat and peace returning to her homeland.
-----
* ActionGirl: When she actually gets to fight, she's this. And it is awesome.
* AffirmativeActionGirl: Was this to the Straw Hats until she left, and was promptly replaced by Robin. Of course, like her successor, she was a genuinely good, multifaceted character.
* ArtEvolution: Surprisingly enough happened [[http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120101212216/onepiece/images/b/be/Vivi_wednesday.PNG over the course of]] [[http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120904223758/onepiece/images/8/84/Vivi_wednesday2.PNG a few chapters]]. Though it's justified by the fact that she was undercover at the time, so she obviously had to make herself look older.
* ArchEnemy: ''Really'' doesn't like [[TheChessmaster Crocodile]].
** Vivi's practically an angel, but when it came to Crocodile, he's the only person she has ever desired to kill and would've killed him had it been possible for her. Then again, the man has ''more'' than earned her hatred.
* ArcVillain: Technically, of the Laboon Arc (See HeelFaceTurn below).
* {{Badass}}: Let us count the ways that Vivi can kick ass:
** BadassAdorable: The adorable, soft-spoken princess of a desert kingdom. Who would expect that she's packing razor sharp whips that she can aim with perfect precision?
** BadassNormal: While the weakest of the crew during her time with the Straw Hats, she was easily able to fend off waves of [[EliteMook Millions]] and [[{{Mook}} Billions]].
** BadassPrincess: She infiltrated Crocodile's organization and climbed pretty high in the ranks. Again, she's also very competent in hand-to-hand combat.
* BreakTheCutie: Gets slapped with this ''hard''. After several {{Plan}}s that Crocodile placed on her, leading to a civil war within the capital and culminating in a bomb in the town center with a blast radius of five kilometers set to explode even though she defeated the ones who were to fire it; this led to Pell, Royal Guardian of Alabasta, sacrificing himself to save everyone from the explosion by flying the giant bomb to the stratosphere ([[spoiler:he got better, though]]). After witnessing this and seeing her people ''still'' killing each other, Vivi ''snaps'' and starts yelling at the top of her lungs for them to stop fighting. It was a very emotional and painful sight to watch.
* CantCatchUp: By the end of her time on the crew, even Nami has outpaced her in terms of combat ability. Not entirely her fault, and she even acknowledges this after the Enies Lobby arc.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Remember when we first met her, eager to kill the whale Laboon for meat?
** Said meat was needed to feed an island that was starving and dying of thirst, so it's not totally out of character, even though it may seem weird at first.
** She also had to keep up the charade of being a ruthless killer so she wouldn't get found out.
* CompetenceZone[=/=]TeenGenius: She's an accomplished double-agent, bounty hunter ''and'' assassin; able to infiltrate the very organization creating chaos in her country. She did this at ''14 years of age'' and was in it for ''two whole years'' before her cover was blown. Considering said organization's leaders were [[DiabolicalMastermind Crocodile]] and [[TheDragon Nico Robin]] ([[MysteriousBacker Though it's probably]] ''[[EnigmaticMinion because]]'' [[ReverseMole of Robin she was able to go unnoticed for so long...]]), this is very impressive. Apparently, after the Timeskip, the Royal Family has enough confidence in her as a capable ''statesman'' as well.
* CoolPet: Carue, her giant duck.
* DanceBattler
* EverythingsBetterWithPrincesses: ...and upon first learning this, Nami tried to use this to extort money from the kingdom.
* {{Expy}}: Her design (Especially in the Alabasta arc, with her blue robes and sandals) resembles another princess: Schala, from ''VideoGame/ChronoTrigger''. Since this game's characters were designed by Akira Toriyama, of whom Oda is a huge fan, it wouldn't be too much of a surprise if it turned out to be true.
* FanService: On the cover of chapter 610 a literal example of 'fanservice', Oda actually responded to some guy's specific fetish[[note]]his editor, in fact[[/note]] on the manga cover for 610, which involved none other than Vivi scrubbing the floor while drenched in water.
* ForeheadOfDoom: Undeniably so. Enough to rival Hancock.
* GetAholdOfYourselfMan: Basically what she says to Luffy after he very nearly loses his temper over her getting shot
* GeniusDitz: She has an encyclopedic knowledge of her country, including the surprisingly vast dangers. However, she only ever remembers to bring up said dangers when they're already occurring.
** And then there's the time she infiltrated Baroque Works and discovered the identity of its leader, something which only one other member of the organization was aware of, between the ages of fourteen and sixteen. And then, after describing in very intimate detail just how much she shouldn't tell the Straw Hats the man's identity, she gets so caught up in what she's saying that she ''shouts the revelation that the boss is Crocodile at the top of her lungs''.
* [[GuestStarPartyMember Guest Star Straw Hat Pirate]]
* HeelFaceTurn: Yes, she was GoodAllAlong, but she did start off as the de facto main villain of the Laboon Arc, and she did try to ''kill Laboon''.
* HonoraryTrueCompanion: She joined not too long after the firm FiveManBand had been established with [[TheHero Luffy]], [[TheLancer Zoro]], [[TheSmartGuy Nami]], [[TheChick Usopp]], and [[TheBigGuy Sanji]].
* IChooseToStay: Was invited to stay with the Straw Hats after Crocodile's defeat. Though she nearly considered it, she chose to stay at Alabasta to help rebuild it.
* ImpossiblyCoolWeapon: [[http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20070501110403/onepiece/images/thumb/6/62/Vslashers.png/250px-Vslashers.png "Peacock Slashers,"]] small blades that are connected to her pinky fingers by wires. She twirls them around in the style of chakrams. No human pinky would normally have the strength or dexterity to pull that off, but RuleOfCool okays it.
** She actually managed to cut [[OffWithHisHead Crocodile's head off]] with those weapons, but his [[NighInvulnerability Logia abilities]] allowed him to easily survive it. Plus, his automatic sand abilities make it easy for anyone to cut through him. Still, to do able to do that with just a pinky is practically a CharlesAtlasSuperpower. Clearly, Vivi is a lot stronger than she looks.
*** And even though she didn't exactly cut Crocodile's head off, she DID manage to make a clean cut on the chair he sat on. That's gotta take some strength there.
* LadyOfWar: Maintains a level of grace until her [[spoiler:HeroicBSOD at the end of the Battle in Alubarna.]]
* ModestRoyalty: The only time she's ever seen in anything fancy is for a specific formal occasion. She's dressed pretty casually everywhere else.
** It's revealed in the Dressrosa arc that the Nefertari family is one of the twenty royal families whose kings found the World Government. Meaning that technically speaking, Vivi is a World Noble -- she doesn't live in Mariejois because her ancestors refused to move there. That's probably why Vivi is so down-to-earth in the first place.
* NiceGirl: To the point that she can't stand the idea of a single person dying in a war (though it is, as Luffy pointed out, almost inevitable).
* NowYouTellMe: A RunningGag with her in the Alabasta arc is that she tends to forget telling her friends about the dangers of the desert (Like giant animals and the like) until the problem's already showed up or been dealt with.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: She's generally a very nice person, and while she has her moments of panic and worry, only Crocodile has managed to make her ''very'' angry, as anything related to him sets her off (Though she was fine with Nico Robin joining the Straw Hats, saying that she completely trusts Luffy's choices in crewmates), swearing to kill him if she ever got the chance. Heck, trying to mess with her country brings out this reaction.
* OvershadowedByAwesome: She has quite a bit of competence and combat ability for a princess, but is going up against an organization in which the majority of those who outrank her have Devil Fruit powers, and most of her allies are similarly stronger than her; she, Igaram and their partners all lose to Zoro.
* PluckyGirl: She'd need a lot of pluck to last as long as she did undercover.
* PoliticallyActivePrincess: After the Alabasta arc, she became this, [[spoiler:eventually representing her country in Reverie in place of her ill father]].
* RapunzelHair
* RedHerring: Her GuestStarPartyMember status in the series led a lot of people on to believing she would end up joining the crew permanently after everything was solved in Alabasta. Turns out it was a RedHerring and Nico Robin, the ''NumberTwo'' to the BigBad of the arc would be the one to join the crew. Vivi would end up being the first in the long line of characters who would get teased with joining the crew.
* ReverseMole: Joined Baroque Works to find out who the leader was.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: She was a mole in the secret organization trying to destabilize her country for two years of her life before getting found out. That's pretty awesome.
* SecretlyWealthy: Until her HeelFaceTurn.
* SlipknotPonytail: Courtesy of Miss Valentine.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Her family names sometimes gets romanized as "Nefeltari", which is the case with the English manga and 4Kids dub.
* SpoiledSweet: Quite possibly one of the most selfless characters in the series.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: She looks just like her late mother, Queen Titi. Cobra even mistook her for her mother when she was dressed for her coming-of-age ceremony.
* TheReveal: [[spoiler: An after-timeskip chapter reveals, almost as a anecdote, that Vivi's Family lineage is actually one of the 20 Kings that founded the World Goverment, but Vivi's ancestors chose to stay behind and rule the Kingdom. This makes Vivi a possible World Noble, if not a proxy Celestial Dragon. Whether she knows this information or not, or how, if ever, she will find out, seems to be up in the air at the moment.]]
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: GirlyGirl to Nami's {{Tomboy}}. She's a noble princess while Nami slides toward rogue.
* TookALevelInBadass: Even if it was a short-lived battle, her [[spoiler:defeat of Mr. 7 and Miss Father's Day showed that, yes, she did pick up pointers from watching the rest of the crew fight.]]
* TrueCompanions: An honorary Straw Hat member for the time they spent together.
** To further prove this, Vivi is the only one (aside from the Straw Hats) who noticed something was off with Luffy [[spoiler:ringing the bells in honor of Ace's death]].
* VariableLengthChain: One interpretation of her signature weapon. Those string slashers seem a bit long to just wrap around her [[ImpossibleHourglassFigure tiny waist]].
* WhipItGood: Her weapons can function like an extremely sharp whip that she's also ''very'' accurate with.
* WiseBeyondHerYears: A trait seen as early as ten years old when she didn't make a scene when Wapol slapped her trying to provoke her, so that he doesn't incite an international incident. She also reminded Luffy about the responsibilities of a leader. In fact, this trope tipped [[ReasonableAuthorityFigure Dalton]] off that not only are the crew she's with decent fellows, but made him figure out who she was after remembering the aforementioned Wapol incident. Also, as mentioned before, she's going to Reverie to represent her kingdom... did we mention she's now 18?
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Sky-blue, actually.[[/folder]]

[[folder:"Mr. 2" Bon Clay]]
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Bon_Clay_tv_tropes.png
-->"Straw-chan...!! I came to save you...'''in the name of friendship!!!'''"
->Voiced by: Creator/KazukiYao (JP), Kevin Konlack (EN, 4Kids), Barry Yandell (EN, Funi)

Real name Bentham, Mr. 2 Bon Clay (or "Bon Kurei") is one of the more eccentric characters in the series, and that's saying something. A transvestite with a dance-based fighting style called ''Okama Kenpo'' (Crossdresser Martial Arts), the Clone-Clone Fruit (''Mane Mane no Mi'') that enables him to copy others' appearances, an incredibly fruity and over the top personality, he is much more dangerous than he may appear, as he was the sole member of the second highest tier of the Baroque Works Officer Agents. Mr. 2 is prone to breaking out in song and twirling around, annoying those nearby to no end, and he shows a surprising level of loyalty towards his friends.

He first met the Straw Hats while they were en route to Alabasta after he had fallen overboard off his own ship, and got along quite well with the more easily amused Luffy, Chopper, and Usopp. After being defeated by Sanji, he was deeply moved by what he saw as an gesture of sportsmanship, resulting in he and his flunkies distracting the Marines long enough for the Straw Hats to escape Alabasta. Afterwards, after a series of misadventures, Mr. 2 was eventually arrested and sent to Impel Down.

[[spoiler:During Luffy's attempt to rescue Ace, he was freed and ended up fighting alongside him, Buggy the Clown, and fellow Baroque Works agent Mr. 3. After Luffy was defeated by the warden Magellan and left to die in Level 5, Mr. 2 set out to save him and find the imprisoned Emporio Ivankov, a transvestite king who allegedly had miraculous healing powers, dragging the unwilling Buggy and Mr. 3 along for the ride as well. Afterwards, in a truly epic TearJerker moment, he stayed behind and disguised himself as Magellan so that the Gates of Justice would open and the rest of his comrades could escape]].

[[spoiler:With the reveal that Magellan was beaten within a inch of his life, but no info about him alone, Mr. 2's fate was uncertain until Chapter 666, where it is revealed that not only is Bon Clay still alive, but now the new Queen of level 5.5 on Impel Down]].
-----
* {{Badass}}: Part of chapter 548 personifies this trope. No other word can describe facing down a man of poison with such a lack of fear.
** AgentPeacock: Magnificently!
** BackToBackBadasses: He and Luffy pull this off epically in [[spoiler:Impel Down]].
** [[BadassGay Badass Crossdresser]]
** {{Determinator}}: He's definitely earned his credentials in this area during the Impel Down arc. The man took a GIANT WOLF to the FACE and kept on going.
** TookALevelInBadass: Holy hell, did he ever, both in moral fiber and pushing himself to his limits.
* {{Bowdlerise}}: In the anime, the kanji on his coat are the characters for the Japanese word for ballerina rather than Okama Way, as in the manga (Okama is slang for transvestite), and his fighting style, Okama Kenpo, was renamed Ballet Kenpo.
** The 4Kids dub went one further and named his fighting style Crazy Karate.
*** Movie 8, however, has the "Okama" kanji on his coat. Funimation naturally did not censor it.
** [[InconsistentDub Inconsistent Adaptation]]: After the censors gave up on covering transvestites in the anime (due to their prominent role from the Impel Down arc onwards), his fighting style was allowed to regain its manga name.
* CampStraight: Considering how he briefly flirted with Vivi on the Going Merry...
* CatchPhrase: "Stop joking around!"
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: He kicked a giant lion in the face and brought it down! And we're not talking "giant" like the size of your average car. No, we're talking giant like the size of your average ''house''.
* {{Crossdresser}}: Actually, despite the ballerina-inspired early outfit, and okama meaning such, he hasn't actually done any crossdressing, though he does claim to be both a man and a woman. His fellows in the Kamabakka Kingdom, however, go all-out drag (as do the Newkama's of Impel Down... at least the ones retaining their original gender, the rest having been gone through a gender-swapping transmogrification using Ivankov's equally ambiguous gender bending okama-fitting powers).
* DanceBattler: Okama Kenpo is largely based on ballet moves, all of which involve his feet.
* GenderBender: He once impersonated Nami and ''flashed'' the Straw Hats to prove his, er, 'completeness'. Nami was not amused.
* HeelFaceTurn: At the end of the Alabasta arc, thanks to ThePowerOfFriendship.
* HeroicSacrifice: Somehow manages to pull this off in every arc he appears in. First, he impersonates Luffy to distract the Marines at the end of the Alabasta arc. Then, in the manga-only cover story 'Meet Baroque Works', he took on Hina again, along with a fairly large force of Marines, to allow his fellow members to rescue Miss Valentine from execution, which led to his becoming imprisoned in Impel Down. [[spoiler:Then, at the end of the Impel Down arc, he decides to stay behind so that he can impersonate Magellan and have the Gates of Justice opened so that Luffy and the rest of the escapees can sail away to freedom. He only tells Jimbei this to prevent the others from finding out, and while he's discovered by Magellan, he gets to bid a teary farewell to the entire group of escapees]]. Luffy actually complains to this effect, annoyed that Bon Clay is always the one doing the sacrificing.
* HotBlooded
* LargeHam: And holy goddamned how!
* NiceGuy
** TokenGoodTeammate: Of Baroque Works.
* ThePowerOfFriendship: Oozes this from his pores at the end of the Alabasta arc, and [[CrowningMomentOfAwesome goes into overdrive in Impel Down]].
* RealMenWearPink: Putting his ballerina-inspired Baroque Works outfit aside, he also wore a pink overcoat and later on a more fashionable, yet still fruity, suit jacket.
* ShapeShifter: He can transform into any person he touches.
* ShapeshifterMashup: Parodied. His Clone-Clone Montage is supposed to be this (taking aspects of different people he's touched to make a new face) which he tried to use on Sanji to make the world's weirdest face to make him laugh. 90% of the "new face" was his own with the only difference being his nose which was that of Usopp's.
* ShapeShifterGuiltTrip: At first subverted when he tries turning into Usopp and Sanji still kicks his face in, but as soon as he turns into Nami, Sanji turns into lovestruck goo. Mr. 2 himself mentally comments that he can't believe it's that easy.
* ShowingOffTheNewBody: Played for laughs when he turns into Nami and flashes Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper, taking their collective breath away. Nami was not amused.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: His name should actually be spelled "Bon Kurei", a reference to a Buddhist festival, yet "Bon Clay" is far more deeply ingrained in the fandom due to early fan translations and later official ones—in both English and Japanese—using Clay. Part of the rationale, apart from sounding similar, is that Clay references his morphing abilities.
* TrueCompanions: AND HOW! He never lets his friends behind; however, he ran away [[spoiler: when Luffy faced [[PoisonousPerson Magellan]]]], but he came back to save him. Without Bon's cheers, Luffy would have died [[spoiler: by Magellan's poison]]. Heck, he even [[spoiler:has sacrificed himself ''twice'' to save Luffy & Co., the last time he even faced Magellan witout any regrets.]]

* DangerousForbiddenTechnique: He also has a Reject Dial which, like Impact Dials, absorbs attacks and fires them back at ''ten times'' the original force. This is known to kill not only the target, but also the user.

* [[DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?]]: Manages to actually ''kill'' Eneru through the use of the deadly Reject Dial.

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: His name has been spelled in a number of ways. Fans aren't sure if it's supposed to be Gan Fall, Gun Fall, or Ganfor.

* TheGamblingAddict: He seems to get himself in a lot of debt.
* HeelFaceTurn: He initially starts off OK, but begins to antagonize the crew once they are believed to have tried to assassinate Iceburg. It all changes when the truth is revealed and they go to Enies Lobby to get Robin and Franky back.

http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Hatchan_1259.jpg
->Voice by: ToshiyukiMorikawa (JP), SeanSchemmel (EN, 4Kids), George Manley (EN, Funi)

Hatchan, often called "Hachi" is an octopus [[FishPeople Fishman]], and a former member of the Sun Pirates. After the crew split up, he joined Arlong's faction and became the handler of the sea cow Momoo. When the Straw Hats came to take down Arlong, he was defeated by Zoro, and was imprisoned by the Marines. However, he managed to escape, and met the mermaid Camie after saving her from Sea Kings and Fishman slavers. He opened up a seafood stand with her, fulfilling a childhood dream.

Later on, he crossed paths with the Straw Hats once again while they were heading for Fishman Island. He revealed that he felt bad about what had happened at Arlong Park, and decided to try and make it up to them and Nami by guiding them to the Sabaody Archipelago where they could have their ship coated for the underwater journey by Silvers Rayleigh, an old friend of his from before his pirate days.
-----
* AcceptableTargets: All Fishmen are this, according to the citizens of Sabaody Archipelago in-universe.
* AffablyEvil: During his time as a villain.
* AllLoveIsUnrequited: Hachi has feelings for an octopus fishwoman called Octopako, but she rejects his proposal. He gets over it pretty soon and opens a takoyaki stand with Camie.
* TheAtoner: In order to make it up to Nami and the other Straw Hats, he's even willing to take them to the most dangerous places in Sabaody Archipelago for a Fishman to go. He reveals this after getting pummelled for his efforts (although he was fairly obvious about it when making fritters for the Straw Hats).
* BreathWeapon: As an octopus, he can squirt ink from his mouth.
* CarnivoreConfusion: One way to look at the fact that he's an octopus-man who makes takoyaki. Although this is arguably justified, since octopuses ''do'' eat other octopuses.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Not only did he pull a HeelFaceTurn, he must have gained 70 IQ points in the process. He went from DumbMuscle to MrExposition, and all he had to do was to help a mermaid.
* DayInTheLimelight: He got his own cover page series that detailed his adventures starting from his escape from the Navy and ending with him opening his own takoyaki stand. The cover page series revealed Hachi's HiddenDepths and prepared readers for his ultimate HeelFaceTurn.
* DumbMuscle: He was initially this when introduced.
* FriendlyTarget: Misfortune always seems to be coming Hatchan's way. As if being defeated handily by Zoro wasn't enough, after his HeelFaceTurn, karma decides to have his friends kidnapped, [[spoiler:him losing his girlfriend]], him being captured in the process of rescuing them, [[spoiler:him being shot by a World Noble, his ass getting kicked while defending the Thousand Sunny from the Marines, with Duval and Kuma, and being attacked with a hail of arrows by Van Der Decken putting him close to death]].
* GoodFeelsGood: Hachi's cover page story is basically an averted trope of NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished. Every time Hachi helps someone, they are grateful and give Hachi something that helps him to help someone else. In the end, Hachi is able to save a whole town of catfish, who in turn build a ship for his floating takoyaki stand.
* HeelFaceTurn: Nami wasn't convinced until he got shot, and revealed he tried hard to earn their forgiveness but managed to mess that up. Luffy told him not to worry about it [[UnstoppableRage in his own way]].
* HeroOfAnotherStory: Let it be known that this guy has ''single-handedly'' saved Camie countless times. It just so happens that the people he clashes with when the Straw Hats are around are so much stronger than him...
* ImAHumanitarian: His job at Sabaody Archipelago is making ''takoyaki''. {{Subverted}}; he claims he uses other tentacled species.
* [[spoiler:ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: By multiple arrows and a dagger. Darn You, Decken!]]
* MrExposition: Ironically, he becomes this in Sabaody Archipelago, despite his previous status as DumbMuscle.
** Justified, as the only thing he's expositing is the social position of fishmen on Sabaody Archipelago, which was where he grew up. Plus, that sort of thing is really hard to ignore when it's the sort of cultural conditioning akin to being black under Jim Crow (arguably worse, as slaves could actively still be taken). The fact that he survived there as long as he did means he HAD to be aware of it. And after witnessing first hand what Luffy did in Arlong Park, he was more than aware how the Straw Hats would react to it.
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: Being a octopus-man... ''with swords''.
* MultiWielding: Actually ''sextuple''-wielding.
* NiceGuy: After his HeelFaceTurn. Actually, even before that to an extent.
* NobodyTouchesTheHair: Parodied in his fight vs Zoro, when he cuts a piece from his hair.
** '"MY HAIR! You jerk! I'm gonna... I'm gonna... forgive you. I mean it's only hair, it'll grow back!
* ObliviousToLove: To Camie, unless he [[AlternateCharacterInterpretation notices but doesn't want to encourage/embarrass her]].
* PetTheDog: His kind treatment of Camie and Pappagu.
* ReformedButRejected: While the Straw Hats accepted Hatchan and Nami was fine with him aboard since he would [[HarmlessVillain pose no threat even if he was still evil]], she was still distrustful of him [[spoiler:until he got shot]].
* SimpletonVoice: In the 4Kids dub.
* SupremeChef: His fried octopus is apparently quite delicious.
* TokenGoodTeammate: When he was with Arlong's crew.
* TrueCompanions: This is the major reason he was with the Arlong Pirates: He was in the original Sunny Pirates before it broke up, and went with Arlong towards the East Blue.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: At the beginning, Oda planned to make him a Squid Fishwoman named Marly Reed.

[[folder:Camie]]
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Camie_2_Years_Later_6023.jpg
->Voiced by: Creator/HarunaIkezawa (JP)

A young [[OurMermaidsAreDifferent mermaid]] who dreams of being a fashion designer. She has a tendency to be eaten by sea monsters and kidnapped by slavers, having met Hatchan when he rescued her from one such incident. She helps him open a seafood stand after he saved her ''again'' from a group of Fishman slavers. When she and Hatchan take the Straw Hats to the Sabaody Archipelago, her being kidnapped by slavers (yes, ''again'') sets off a series of escalating FromBadToWorse moments for the pirate crew.

She is accompanied by a talking starfish named Pappagu, who constantly frets over her safety. Hatchan's friend Shakky teases her occasionally for having a crush on the octopus Fishman.
-----
* AllLoveIsUnrequited: Poor girl... made worse by how it's probably the only sympathetic depiction of romantic love in the story.
* BeautyIsNeverTarnished: Completely averted; she's cute, alright, but also executes some of the most excellent [[JawDrop Jaw Drops]] ever for a female in the series.
* BrainBleach: Invoked in-universe when the Straw Hats meet her. As the last mermaid they met was decidedly less attractive, they bleach their memories of that mermaid so good-looking Camie is the first one that comes to mind.
** Especially Zoro, who literally ''wiped his own memory on the spot'' of their first mermaid encounter!
* TheChewToy
* DistressedDamsel: Pretty much her designated role in the story.
** Also turned UpToEleven [[PlayedForLaughs For Laughs]]. She notes that Pappagu and her have been eaten by sea monsters ''20 times'' and captured by slavers (the same slavers, no less) about ''30 times'', and Hatchan always rescues them. Usopp calls her out on it, too.
* NeutralFemale: Considering that she's a DistressedDamsel par excellence...
** To be fair, there wasn't much she could actively do about it since she was [[spoiler:stuck in a fishbowl with an [[ExplosiveLeash exploding collar]] around her neck]]. Try picturing yourself like ''that'' and wonder if you could EVER do something.
* NiceGirl
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Camie? Or is it Caimie? Or maybe even Keimei?
* WildTake: She has probably the craziest [[http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120226021615/onepiece/images/5/50/Face_fault.png take]] in the series (which is saying something) and it takes very little to set her off.

[[folder:"Iron Mask" Duval]]
quoteright:250:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/250px-duval_anime_infobox_2844.png

->Voiced by: Creator/ToshihikoSeki (JP)
A former bounty hunter and kidnapper based in Sabaody Archipelago, leader of the Rosy Life Riders (formerly known as Flying Fish Riders) turned ally of the Straw Hats. Initially, his relationship with the Straw Hats was very hostile, particularly Sanji, as the crew's raid on Enies Lobby made them world famous, and turned his (comparatively) "quiet" life of being a small-time mafia hood into a nightmare as he was hounded by Marines and bounty hunters, as he [[MistakenIdentity looked remarkably like Sanji's terribly drawn wanted poster]].

Eventually, he was forced to wear an iron mask, to protect his identity, and live the life of a kidnapper as part of the biker gang, The Flying Fish Riders.

After antagonizing the Straw Hats, by kidnapping their friends Camie and Pappagu, the Flying Fish Riders were easily defeated, and Duval personally had his face rearranged (literally) by Sanji. However, upon Duval's recovery, he found himself looking beautiful, and no longer held a grudge on the crew; personally thanking Sanji for beating him ''pretty'', and declares he is now in their debt. His new outlook on life changed, he began calling himself "Handsome", and changed his crew name to the Rosy Life Riders. He was of some use during the middle of the Sabaody Archipelago arc, and after the crew were vanished by Kuma, he swore to protect the ship until they returned. [[spoiler:During the TimeSkip, he received several injuries from a battle with the Marines after they discovered the Thousand Sunny and fought alongside, Hatchan and ''Kuma'' until the Marines retreated. He is last seen covered in bandages with the rest of the Rosy Life Riders in the back of Shakky's Ripp-Off Bar]].
-----
* AbusiveParents: Upon being born, his mother looking at this face, exclaimed that his ugliness was due to "the curse of the Age of Pirates".
* BerserkButton: The mere mention of the Straw Hats, especially Sanji, was enough to have him rant at length about his revenge, which in turn brought out [[TheIdiotFromOsaka his accent]]. That was all sorted out though.
* {{Biseinen}}: Thanks to Sanji.
* CasanovaWannabe: At becoming a {{Bishonen}}, he soon went around trying to hit on girls, to no avail. Sanji mentions that he may have repaired his face, but not his screwy personality.
* AFatherToHisMen: His crew are very loyal to him, and he doesn't mistreat them in any way. Before and after his HeelFaceTurn.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: Sorta. He was a small-time hood who became a notorious slave ringer.
* {{Gonk}}: At first.
* HeelFaceTurn: He was the enemy of the Straw Hats because he happened to look like Sanji's poorly drawn wanted poster. When his face was fixed, he became their ally because of thanks.
* LargeAndInCharge: This guy must be around 10 feet tall.
* MagicPlasticSurgery: Received one courtesy of Sanji. He is very pleased with the results.
* ManInTheIronMask: Initially.
* MistakenIdentity: He looked like Sanji's poorly drawn wanted poster (which, in turn looked nothing like Sanji). Gave him grief from bounty hunters and Marines. Until Sanji caved his face in several times.
* {{Narcissist}}: Nowadays, he is. He's taken to call himself "Handsome", and injecting his new name in his sentences.
* TheReveal: One that was as shocking as it was ''hilarious''.
* YouShallNotPass: To the bounty hunters [[spoiler:and Marines]] who wanted to seize the Thousand Sunny.

->[[SchmuckBait "Who'd want to buy me as a slave? I'm an old man!"]]
->Voiced by: KeiichiSonobe (JP), Bradford Hutson (EN, Funi)

A ship-coating master in Sabaody Archipelago and First Mate of Gold Roger. Given the RedBaron "The Dark King" during his days as a pirate. During this time as a pirate, he acted as [[NumberTwo a supervisor of the crew]], [[PromotionToParent having a disciplinary role]] to [[spoiler:Shanks and Buggy, especially when they argued]]. Having long since retired from piracy [[spoiler:after Roger disbanded his crew]], he hid in the Sabaody Archipelago and became infamous for coating ships, gambling, drinking, and partying with women. He has a good relationship with his business partner of twenty years Shakuyaku ([[EpilepticTrees perhaps more so than some think]]), and is good friends with Hatchan, who saved his life when he was a kid.
-----
* AwesomenessIsAForce: Knocked out an entire crowd of watchers with this when the Straw Hats caused a scene in the Auctioning House. Even a member of the Heart Pirates, which is assuredly a BadassCrew considering their captain is Supernova Trafalgar Law, nearly fainted from his awesomeness.
* {{Badass}}:
** BadassBeard: See the picture.
** BadassGrandpa: The most badass old man in the series after Whitebeard.
** BadassNormal: It came as a shock to many fans that he doesn't have a Devil Fruit, despite fighting an Admiral to a standstill after twenty years of inaction. He's just ''that'' good.
* BigDamnHeroes: He got an '''epic''' one against Kizaru as the latter was about to finish off Zoro.
* BigGood: Took over after [[spoiler:Whitebeard's death in the Marineford arc]].
* CoolOldGuy: He is around Garp's age, able to still throw down with Admirals, plays mentor to Luffy, and all around badass.
* DirtyOldMan: Shakky suggests that he loves women, and this is implied to be the thing that actually motivates him to do anything to his captors after they force an explosive collar around Camie's neck.
** ChivalrousPervert
* DeathGlare: Did this against some ringers when Camie was in trouble, leaving them knocked out and foaming in the mouth.
* TheDreaded: Enough so that Garp (the man who took down ''Roger himself'') outright told his men to not engage him or tell Sengoku when he found out that he was on Sabaody, as he didn't want to risk the consequences of the Marines having to deal with both him and Whitebeard at the same time. Bear in mind that Whitebeard, in addition to being the WorldsStrongestMan also had massive BadassCrew supporting him. Rayleigh is alone. Yet Garp's worry is justified in that anybody less powerful than an Admiral would probably just get in the way against Rayleigh and the Marines needed ''all'' of their Admirals for the upcoming war against Whitebeard.
* FanNickname: [[IncrediblyLamePun Rayleigh Silvers]], since it has a pretty nice ring to it.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: One of the more infamous examples in ''OnePiece''. [[spoiler:In Buggy's flashback, Rayleigh is the one ordering Buggy and Shanks to stop fighting]]. Oda made sure when Toei Animation produced this episode that the script would [[NumberTwo not have them refer to him as captain]]. Nearly ''five hundred chapters later'', he turns out to be the special coating mechanic the Straw Hats wanted.
* IOweYouMyLife: Hatchan saved his life when he was a kid. That might be why he offered to coat the ''Thousand Sunny'' for the journey to Fishman Island for free, after Luffy saved Hatchan's life at the slave auction.
* KiAttacks: He's an OldMaster of all forms of Haki, and is also the one who taught [[spoiler:Luffy]] how to use it.
* ManlyTears: He's strong enough to take an Admiral, feared by the Marines, and the Pirate King's second-in-command. Yet he's still not afraid to show his emotions. Can definitely count as a CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming.
* MeaningfulName[=/=]PunnyName[=/=]PropheticName: Silvers Rayleigh is Gold Roger's First Mate. Was their Second Mate named Copper Jones?
** Also, "Rayleigh" refers to "Rayleigh scattering", an optical phenomenon characterized by the ''scattering of light''. As the first and only character able to break up Kizaru's light beams, it's fitting.
** Also a possible historical ShoutOut to British explorer/entrepeneur Sir Walter Raleigh.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: See RedBaron below. If that doesn't do it, how about "'''''Right Hand of the Pirate King'''''"?
* NumberTwo: To Roger.
* OldMaster: He is around Garp's age but a master of Haki and other fighting forms.
* PreAssKickingOneLiner: When the Straw Hats are making it back to the ''Thousand Sunny'' [[spoiler:post time-skip]], he cuts off the Marines who are pursuing them, and then draws a line in the ground:
-->"My apprentice is setting sail. Do as you please. But I would suggest that you do not cross this line."
* RedBaron: "'''''The Dark King.'''''"
** The swedish translation made him "Dödens Konung" -- the King of Death.
* RetiredBadass: He has since quit piracy, but he's still awesome enough to go toe-to-toe with an '''Admiral''' even in his old age and even ''cut him'' despite him being a [[NighInvulnerable Logia-type]]. And all this after twenty years of non-action.
* {{Trickster}}: He gambles his money away, and to pay off old debts, he allows himself to be captured and sold as a slave. Because he looks like an unassuming old man, no-one notices that capturing the Roger Pirates NumberTwo is playing with fire, so he would usually steal the money of whatever schmuck with more cash than brains once he's bought off, pay off his old debts, and start gambling again. [[LampshadeHanging He actually highlights]] that buying him is bona-fide SchmuckBait as in his words: "Who'd want to buy me as a slave? I'm an old man!"
* SchmuckBait: He plays the role of helpless old man when at auction just to be purchased.

[[folder:Emporio Ivankov]]
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Picture_48.png
--> "We have crossed this barrier called 'gender!'"
->Voiced by: Norio Imamura (JP, episodes 438-460), Creator/MitsuoIwata (JP, episodes 461+)

The former ruler of Kamabakka Kingdom, Emporio Ivankov, or Iva for short, is a transvestite known as a "Miracle Worker" for saving the lives of several people. However, because he's also a commander of the Revolutionaries trying to overthrow the World Government [[spoiler:and a comrade of Dragon]], he was captured and put into the world's worst prison, Impel Down. Iva is flamboyant, like Mr. 2 Bon Clay, and has a habit of panicking, then saying the opposite of what he said earlier. He is very proud of being a transvestite and of the the people he ruled over in a hidden level of Impel Down, even expressing his ideals about it, and doesn't care if anyone disagrees with his views. In fact, he has made enemies of people who were furious that spreading this view had affected them personally, but doesn't seem to care about that either, and dealt with it in his own, [[GenderBender unique]] way.

Ivankov's power comes from eating the Horm-Horm Fruit (''Horu Horu no Mi''), which allows him to inject hormones into the human body. These hormones can cause sex changes, increased adrenaline, bodily growth, and other things, which in his words make him an "engineer of the human body". This is the reason that he was able to heal many people from the brink of death. However, he claims he's not a "Miracle Worker," and merely allowed people with the "[[{{Determinator}} Will to Live]]" to go on. He can't help those who don't have the drive to help themselves. He is also a master of ''Newkama Kenpo''.
-----
* AgentPeacock: To the core!
* AttractiveBentGender: While [[{{Gonk}} damn weird-looking]] as a man, his female form is both attractive and well endowed. [[StupidSexyFlanders You know it's true]].
* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: Don't let Iva's body or weird habits fool you, this Revolutionary is as deadly as they come and is not shy from getting his hands dirty.
* {{Badass}}: Yes, [[AgentPeacock really]]!
* BerserkButton: He hates it when people forget his face, on the completely logical grounds that it's damn hard. [[{{Gonk}} No matter how hard you try....]]
* BigHeadMode: Thanks to hormones.
* CatchPhrase: "HEEHAW!"
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: The guy sent Kuma groggy with a dropkick. He was also ''the only'' one to actually wound Magellan in a confrontation during the Impel Down arc, [[spoiler:and after meeting Sanji, he kicked his ass in ''less than a panel'']]. Also, having this is pretty much a [[RequiredSecondaryPowers required secondary power]] when he can quintuple the size of his already massive head.
* CloudCuckooLander: Even Bon Kurei, an eccentric himself, thinks he's nuts. And this is Bon Kurei the CampGay, extremely eccentric ballerina!
** UpToEleven: Bon Kurei was very weird and campy, Ivankov, is even '''MORE''' campy and weird than him.
* DemonHead: ''Weaponized.''
* {{Determinator}}: Is one himself, by virtue of coming back after getting poisoned by Magellan, and can bring out this quality in others; specifically, his "Healing Hormones" allow a terminally ill patient to survive by drawing on their willpower, even if it is a rather slim chance.
* EyeBeams: Technically his "DEATH WINK", although it's not a 'beam', but a [[BlowYouAway blast of air pressure]].
** ShockwaveClap: Basically how Death Wink works, only replace hands with thick eyelashes.
** BeamSpam: Can't think of another way to describe his ultimate attack, Galaxy Wink.
* FingerpokeOfDoom: As previously mentioned, his main form of offense is the "DEATH WINK!"
* FunnyAfro: Which is so epic he ''carries people around by hiding them in it''.
* GagLips: One of his attacks (anime only) involves propelling himself towards his opponent lips-first in order to slam them.
* GenderBender: His Devil Fruit ability allows him to change the gender of the manliest of men to the shapeliest of women and vice-versa, ''including himself''.
* {{Gonk}}: The male form.
* GratuitousEnglish: He calls the Newkama his "Candy Boys" and uses English for his attack "Death Wink".
* InkSuitActor: While the [[NoCelebritiesWereHarmed resemblance to]] [[RockyHorrorPictureShow Tim Curry]] is uncanny, he is really based on Norio Imamura, one of Mayumi Tanaka's dance troupe. Ivankov's name comes from the occassion when Oda first met Imamura, he thought his face looked like a boulder, and thought his name was ''[[PunnyName Iwa]]''[[PunnyName mura]]. ("Iwa" means "boulder"). When Imamura found out the character was based on him, he immediately auditioned for the voice role of Ivankov and got it.
* LaResistance: A commander of the main Revolutionary army opposing the World Government and got jailed for it.
* LargeAndInCharge: Formerly the ruler of Kamabakka Kingdom and ruler of "New Kama Paradise". He's at least twice as tall as an average person and has a giant head, which he can enlarge even further for maximum intimidation.
* MadeOfDiamond: [[spoiler:He flew lips-first into Akainu's magma fist and yet survived.]]
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: [[RockyHorrorPictureShow Dr. Frank N Furter]].
* NumberTwo: Even though there's more than one commander in the Revolutionaries, it's implied he was specifically this to Dragon.
* TheOtherDarrin: Ivankov was originally voiced by Norio Imamura, who turned out to be the original inspiration behind the character, but he was [[RoleEndingMisdemeanor arrested for posting pictures on his blog showing off some body art, which counts as indecent exposure in Japan]]. And so the role had to be recast.
* RefugeInAudacity: ''His entire existence.''
* TheRevolutionWillNotBeCivilized: Being with the Revolutionaries will inevitably lead to their ideas going through violent means. [[spoiler:His experience with violence was probably the reason that the prison breakout was so successful..]].
* StockingFiller: Fishnet stockings are valued by male, female, and other Newkama alike. Ivankov is no exception.
* StupidSexyFlanders: You saw that picture up there, right? Damn, that's... it's not ugly, but kind of disturbing to some people. [[http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ldg7etFJTz1qbgt3lo6_250.png Now, this is what he looks like as a woman.]]
* {{Transvestite}}: And damn proud of it.
* UncannyValleyMakeup: Applied so thick as to provide a significant deterrent to ''stone melting acid''.
* VerbalTic: He usually says "able" at the end of his sentences.
* WartsAndAll: Bon Clay had a tough time believing Ivankov was the miraculous person he thought he was after seeing the guy's eccentricity (and this is compared with ''Bon Clay'', so that's '''really''' saying something), only changing his mind when Ivankov deflected a [[FingerPokeOfDoom cannonball with a wink]] and turned the guy who fired it [[GenderBender into a woman]]. A lesser version of this happens a little later, when Ivankov dismisses Bon Clay's claims that he is a miracle worker and a god among Okama, saying that in the stories Bon Clay mentioned, he didn't miraculously heal people, he only brought out their [[{{Determinator}} inner will to live]].
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: A color-spread and the anime show his hair is indigo.

[[folder:Inazuma]]
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Inazuma_8470.jpg
->Male Voice: KenjiHamada (JP)
->Female Voice: UmekaShouji (JP)

Inazuma is a Revolutionary commander and Ivankov's right-hand man. He ate the Snip-Snip Fruit (''Choki Choki no Mi''), which allows him to turn his hands into large scissors that can cut solid objects like paper. Thanks to Ivankov's Devil Fruit Powers, he sometimes appears as a woman.
-----
* AttractiveBentGender: Like his boss. Though he is one of the few Okamas who are not {{Gonk}} in their male forms, so the difference is not that striking.
* CoolShades: orange ones.
* CulturedBadass: He is almost always carrying a wineglass.
* GoodScarsEvilScars: Has a lightning bolt-shaped scar going down his forehead and right eye.
* MultiColoredHair: The left side is white, the right side is orange.
* OnlySaneMan: He's the only okama who relatively acts normal.
* PunnyName: "Inazuma" is Japanese for "lightning bolt". Notice the the shape of the scar on his face?
* SatelliteCharacter: To Ivankov.
* ShoutOut: His multi-colored hair and clothing are reminiscent of Cruella de Vil from Disney/OneHundredAndOneDalmatians. More so in the manga, which is black and white.
* TheStoic: His male persona, his female personality is noticeably a bit more warm.
* WineIsClassy: Never seen without a glass in hand.

[[folder:"First Son of the Sea" Jinbe]]
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jinbe_anime_infobox_3487.png
-->"It's not my body that hurts! Ace... what hurts is my heart... that can't enforce justice!"

->Voiced by: DaisukeGouri (JP, episodes 430-432), KatsuhisaHouki (JP, episodes 440+)

The last of the Seven Warlords to be formally introduced. Jinbe is a whale-shark [[FishPeople Fishman]] and the former captain of the Pirates of the Sun after the death of Fisher Tiger. His becoming a Warlord eight years before the events of the main story saw the crew split up, with one faction headed by Arlong. He is also a master of ''Fishman Karate'', the most skilled user in the series in fact.

He claims to be indebted to Whitebeard, as because of that man's declaration Fishman Island was spared from the marauding slavers that often kidnapped Fishmen and Merpeople for sale in the slave trade. He also has a grudging respect for Portgas D. Ace, having apparently fought him some time in the past. Possibly as a result of this, Jinbe doesn't seem to hold humans in such low regard, or at least isn't as open about it, rather presenting himself as someone who wishes to keep events at a relatively peaceful equilibrium.

[[spoiler: Luffy has asked him to join his crew. However, Jinbe turned him down for the time being, stating there was some business he needs to do first (said business turns out to be wanting to break ties with Big Mom). ''Then'' he will join if Luffy still wants him (like that needs to be said).]]

-----
* AnimalMotifs: The shark, being a whale shark fishman.
* {{Badass}}: He can make shockwaves in the air with a punch, thrust the sea into the air with his bare hands like it was silk, [[spoiler:fight Portgas D. Ace]] for ''five days'' to a standstill, knock out ''a fellow Warlord'' with one punch, and [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking talk to whale sharks]] (something that's rare of his species). He's basically ''One Piece'''s answer to Aquaman.
* BadassBaritone: Initially with DaisukeGouri who has a natural tough sounding voice; also with his replacement, KatsuhisaHouki who despite voicing the higher pitched Gekko Moriah, a fellow Warlord, manages to pull it off well.
* BaitTheDog: COMPLETELY inverted! Considering that he was Arlong's former captain and the one who let him run wild in the East Blue, it seemed like Oda was setting Jinbe up to be a major villain. Who would've thought that he would not only be one of the Straw Hats' biggest allies, but also [[spoiler:get invited to join the crew]]?
* BlowYouAway: His ''Karakusagawara Seiken'' creates a shockwave that [[CaptainObvious blows away]] enemies.
* CallASmeerpARabbit: He looks less like a whale shark and more like a guardian lion with gill slits and blue skin.
* CoolOldGuy: He's like a third dad to Luffy.
* [[spoiler:DeathSeeker]]: [[spoiler:He makes it clear a number of times that he expects to die during the Marineford battle]].
* DelayedCausality: His ''Karakusagawara Seiken''. After throwing the punch the shock wave takes a couple of seconds to take effect. In the anime this is stretched out and has the shock wave build up to its full effect.
* EscortMission: Finds himself on one in Caribou's cover story, in that he finds him in the process of trying to [[StupidEvil kidnap mermaids]] [[WhatAnIdiot AGAIN]], beats the tar out of him, and then promptly takes him to G-5 so he can imprison him and gain his HUGE bounty for the sake of Fishman Island.
* [[ThreateningShark Everything's Worse With Sharks]]: Subverted. He's the ONLY shark fishman thus far that hasn't been a Jerkass.
* GetAholdOfYourselfMan: [[spoiler:To Luffy, to make him realise that even if he has lost his brother, he still has to get his crew back together]].
* IKnowKarate: ''[[FantasticFightingStyle Fishman Karate]]'' to be exact.
* LargeAndInCharge: He's a whale-shark fishman, so naturally he looms over most normal characters.
* LightningBruiser: Obviously becomes one underwater, but this applies even in land battles. Gecko Moria [[LampshadeHanging lampshades]] it: "You're fast for a big fellow!" [[spoiler: He is also able to keep up with Luffy in their brief skirmish, although to be fair, neither opponent really wanted to seriously injure the other]].
* LostInTranslation: His title is a pun on a Yakuza title and the word for a channel. This doesn't carry into English, leading to the "First Son of the Sea" approximation.
* MadeOfIron: No explanation is given on how he survived [[spoiler: Akainu's lava fist through the chest]].
* MakingASplash: When he finally gets into the water, he uses his karate moves to throw around torrents of water as if they were silk.
* ManlyTears: He cried when [[spoiler:his captain Fisher Tiger died]], when [[spoiler:Ace died]], and when [[spoiler:Nami told him that she forgave him.]]
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: He let his hatred for humans get the best of him and wound up indirectly responsible for Arlong comitting his atrocities, which includes causing Nami's tragic past. He feels quite ashamed of this.
* MyGreatestFailure: He feels this way about how his becoming a Warlord of the Sea basically allowed Arlong to run free in the East Blue. It's what leads him to be...
** TheAtoner: For allowing Arlong to rampage in the East Blue. Nami even notes how much it was eating him up inside.
* NiceGuy
** TokenGoodTeammate: Of the Warlords, being the only one that isn't cruel, [[AxCrazy out of his mind]], [[JerkAss a prick]], or [[TrueNeutral not caring]] about anyone.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: At one point during the breakout at Impel Down, he's fighting to take over a Marine battleship alongside Crocodile and Mr 1. He tries to support them with his Fishman Karate, only to wreck the ship instead.
* NotSoStoic: While usually one of the most focused characters in the series, he can occasionally lose his cool, [[spoiler:as shown in how he dealt with Ace's death.]] On a lighter note, see the OhCrap entry below.
** In chapter 650, after telling the Straw Hats some vital information, he gets a face fault at Luffy being more concerned about food. When he berates Luffy for not taking the news seriously and Luffy cheerfully replies that he likes to leave things to chance, Jimbe bemoans to the others how hard it must be to have Luffy as a captain.
* OhCrap: [[spoiler:His [[CrowningMomentOfFunny face fault after the timeskip]] when he sees Shirahoshi and a wounded Hachi with Luffy.]]
** A more serious example is shown in the anime, when Sanji reveals to him how badly Nami had suffered under Arlong's tyranny.
* OnlySaneMan: He and Hatchan are this to both the Sun Pirates (after Fish Tiger's death) and the entire Fishman race so far.
* TheOtherDarrin: He was initially voiced by the late DaisukeGouri. Starting from episode 440, Katsuhisa Houki (Moria) took over the role. A similar case has happened with his fellow Warlord Dracule recently.
* [[spoiler:ProngsOfPoseidon]]: [[spoiler:His weapon during his days in the Neptune Army]].
* PunnyName: ''Jinbei-zame'' means "whale-shark" in Japanese. Also, he wears a type of traditional Japanese tunic called a ''Jimbei''.
* RedOniBlueOni: He's the Blue, Ace the Red.
** He's also the Blue in relation to Arlong's Red. Jinbei decides to take a reasonable approach to help the Fishmen/Merfolk relations to accept the World Government's request to be a Warlord, while Arlong chose to make himself "the wrath of the Fishmen" to humanity. Interestingly, they were both pretty firm Reds in the Sun Pirates, with ''Arlong'' being the calmer one.
* ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight: [[spoiler: In full defiance to Fishman Island's laws, Jinbei gives blood to Luffy. He lampshades it himself while stepping forward, reasoning that since he is a pirate he shouldn't really be expected to follow the rules anyways.]]
** Really, this is what Jinbe is all about. He refused to answer the World Government's call to fight Whitebeard because his homeland owed a debt to Whitebeard, which lead to Jinbe being arrested and sent to Impel Down. But by doing so, he befriended Luffy and defected to help Luffy and Whitebeard in rescuing Ace from his execution.
* SharkMan: Specifically whale shark.
* SpeaksFluentAnimal: He can communicate with whale sharks, a trait that's unusual for fishmen to possess.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Due to different ways you can romanize Japanese, his name can be written as either ''Jinbe'', ''Jinbei'', or ''Jimbei''.
** The One Piece Databook Green decided to go with "Jinbe".
** Viz and Funimation use "Jimbei".
* [[spoiler:TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou: At first, he seems to feel this way with regards to Hody Jones, as he feels if a human (Luffy) were to defeat him, the CycleOfRevenge would create some new tyrant like Jones was when Arlong was defeated. It turns out that he's merely opposed to Luffy beating up Hody without the support of the citizens of Fishman Island. If Luffy can come out of the ordeal looking like a hero to fishmen and merfolk, and not like a domineering human (the kind with which the island has plenty of experience), then Jinbe has no problems whatsoever.]]
* WeWillMeetAgain: Heroic version done twice. First was when Jinbe said he'd see Luffy on Fishman Island. Second, [[spoiler: when he said he'll be back to join the Straw Hats]].
* [[spoiler:WellIntentionedExtremist]]: [[spoiler:He was one when he was a member of the Sunny Pirates, championing fishman/merfolk rights, and he in particular was especially brutal during their battles with the Marines, to the point where even ''Arlong'' thought he was too rough]].
* WhatKindOfLamePowerIsHeartAnyway: He considers himself useless on land. This is not really true despite him being a One Piece version of Comicbook/{{Aquaman}} - even without water to throw, he is still a huge fishman karate master capable of taking on top tier pirates and marines.
** HeartIsAnAwesomePower: [[spoiler:As he explains to Luffy during their skirmish in the most recent chapter, the principle of Fishman Karate is that the user can manipulate water for their attacks, even if that water is in the atmosphere or in a person's body -- which means his very punch can create shockwaves potent enough to knock back Luffy, whose rubber body normally makes him immune to blunt attacks]].
* [[spoiler:TheWorfEffect]]: [[spoiler:During said YouShallNotPass moment below, Mihawk deals with Jinbe in a single blow]].

-----
* BeardOfEvil: Three of them, actually.
* {{BFS}}: And he's already a giant of a man.
* CaptainColorbeard
* DumbMuscle: Caesar Clown sees him as this.
* [[spoiler: AFatherToHisMen: For all his faults he does care for the health of his men.]]
* {{Gonk}}
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: Almost. Seems that his fight with Hawkins ended with his legs being cut off [[spoiler: which law later replaces with a crocodile body.]]
* [[spoiler:HeelFaceTurn: After surviving Caesar's assassination attempt and learning the truth he decides to save his men and side with the Straw Hats.]]
* LargeAndInCharge
* MoralMyopia: Hates the "Worst Generation"... except for Law, who he claims "is different". However, even listening to his own speech about it, it sounds like Law had been involved in the same kinds of world-shaking stuff the others were over the past two years(and even now has some rather grandiose plans in mind), the only difference being that Law helped Brownbeard personally.
* MrExposition: He plays this role during the Punk Hazard arc, [[spoiler: though his version of the story is tainted.]]
* [[spoiler:NeverSmileAtACrocodile]]: [[spoiler:Brownbeard is now an crocodile centaur, or "croctaur", as Luffy puts it. Somewhat subverted in that he's not much of a threat]]
* [[spoiler: NotQuiteDead: He survived long enough to save Usopp and Nami-in-Sanji's-body and calls Clown out.]]
* TheOtherDarrin: He was initially voiced by Yasuhiko Tokuyama, who was replaced by Kazunari Tanaka in later episodes.
* [[spoiler:OurCentaursAreDifferent]]: Post-timeskip, [[spoiler:he's now a crocodile centaur]].
* UnderestimatingBadassery: Didn't quite know who he was dealing with when he decided to threaten Basil Hawkins.
* [[spoiler: UnstoppableRage: After he learns the truth about Caesar Clown. When he learns from the latter's mouth that the incident that occurred four years ago on Punk Hazard was ''his'' doing, and not Vegapunk's, he flat out loses it.]]

* CloudCuckoolander: He has several quirks, such as his tendency to repeatedly introduce himself.
* TheFaceless
* GreenThumb: He is an expert in the use of Pop Greens, seeds that grow to full sized plants in an instant.
* LargeHam: ''I'M THE HERO OF THE FOREST, HERACLESUN!''
* MaskPower
* TestosteronePoisoning: He is always gabbing on about "manliness".
* TwentyFourHourArmor: He is ''always'' seen wearing his armor.

->"It was the promise I made with mother on her deathbed!! That no matter who the criminal was, not to hate them!"
->Voiced by: {{Yukana}} (JP)

The princess of the Ryuugu Kingdom. Was locked up in the castle tower to keep Vander Decken from killing her with his Devil Fruit ability. A surprisingly huge Giant Smelt-Whiting mermaid. I mean ''really'' huge.
-----
* AllLovingHero: She inherited this from her mother. [[spoiler:She knew who her mother's murderer was and she kept it to herself for ''10 years'', to honor her mother's promise not to bear ill will against her killer, and prevent the others looking for vengeance. However, this takes an even more disturbing twist when we find out that the one who killed Otohime was not one of the humans she was trying to make peace with, but ''a Fishman who was sick and tired of this very quality''.]]
* BareYourMidriff: She IS a mermaid after all.
* [[spoiler:TheBeastmaster: It is actually revealed that she has the power to summon and control huge (and I ''mean'' '''HUGE''') Sea Monsters in case of distress. That's why Vander Decken wants to marry her.]]
* [[BigLittleBrother Big Little Sister]]: She is the youngest child of the royal family, and yet the only the one who got her father's size. Even ''as a baby'' she was much bigger than her brothers.
* BlushSticker
* BoobsOfSteel: Seemingly averted until you realize that [[spoiler: she's the modern incarnation of the Ancient Weapon Poseidon and possesses the power to control Sea Kings and possibly use them to tear islands apart - fitting considering she has one of the largest pairs in the series]].
* CowardlyLion: When [[spoiler: the collosal ancient vessel Noah, now targeted towards her, flies careening into Fishman Island]], Shirahoshi unhesitantly prepares to give her life to save her people by [[spoiler: swimming away from Fish Island so the vessel will crash into her and her alone.]] Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the definition of courage itself.
** Even Luffy notes that she's not a coward, just a crybaby.
* CryCute: So much.
* CuteGiant
* DoomedMoralVictor: As pointed out by Hordy, her [[spoiler: concealing that he killed Otohime]] allowed him to grow in power to the point that he could easily overcome Fishman Island's military and attempt a coup, no matter how noble her intentions were.
* EverythingsBetterWithPrincesses
* FragileFlower: For someone so huge she's quite fragile, she cries easily, and doesn't take being yelled at very lightly. She inherited this trait from her mother, but completely UpToEleven.
* GenerationXerox: Her personality is quite similar to her mother's.
* GentleGiant
* GiantEqualsInvincible: Complete aversion. Despite being the largest member of the royal family alongside her father, she has no fighting skill whatsoever.
** [[spoiler: She promised to Luffy to stop being a crybaby, and considering her power to command Sea Kings, she '''will''' improve a lot]]
* GirlInTheTower
* HeroicSacrifice: Attempted. [[spoiler:As soon as she realizes the ''Noah'' is coming after her specifically, she hightails it off Fishman Island to lure the ship away from the people. It almost works, but then Decken goes unconscious and the ship begins falling down to the island]].
* TheIngenue
* {{Irony}}: The smelt-whiting are usually tiny, but Shirahoshi is the largest mermaid so far.
* ItRunsInTheFamily: [[spoiler:Neptune is a pretty big guy, so her size is not that surprising]].
** Could also apply to [[spoiler: her powers, which are the same as with a previous mermaid princess: Poseidon.]]
* JapaneseHonorifics: Uses "-sama" on most people. Amusingly enough, she calls Nami "Namichin-sama", based on hearing her name from Caimie, who points out that it's just a nickname.
* {{Kawaiiko}}
* NiceGirl: Every home should have one. Unfortunately, too big to [[{{Omochikaeri}} take home with you.]]
* [[spoiler:PersonOfMassDestruction: She has the ability to summon and communicate with Sea Kings, a power that is said, if used incorrectly, can destroy entire islands. Shirahoshi isn't the first to have this power, as the Poneglyph of Shandora describes a weapon called the "Poseidon", which was actually the Mermaid Princess at the time it was written. In such a sense, Shirahoshi is the new Poseidon.]]
* PrincessClassic
* RapunzelHair
* RoseHairedGirl
* SeashellBra: Rather pearls.
* ShelteredAristocrat: Due to being locked up in the castle tower most of her life, Shirahoshi has very limited knowledge of the outside world and asks Luffy about the sun, animals, and forests.
* SilkHidingSteel: Do ''not'' underestimate her just because she is a kind-hearted crybaby; it takes ''strength'' of character to [[spoiler: KEEP the promise of not hating your mother's murderer]] and when the lives of her people are on the line she is ''braver'' than '''any''' warrior in the OnePiece universe.
* SpoiledSweet: She's very polite to everyone, even her stalker.
* StatuesqueStunner
* TenderTears: Tends to cry a lot. Though given the current situation, it's kind of understandable.
* TheSoCalledCoward: Like daughter like mom, it is her ''kindness'' that makes her a hero. See CowardlyLion above for more details.
* UglyGuysHotDaughter: Neptune is [[{{Gonk}} no looker]], but Shirahoshi is very lovely and absolutely ''huge''.
* WhatBeautifulEyes
* WorldsMostBeautifulWoman: Many claim that her beauty rivals that of Boa Hancock.
* [[YouGottaHaveBlueHair You Gotta Have Pink Hair]]
* YoureNotMyType: She says this is the reason that she won't marry Vander Decken.

A samurai from Wano Country the Straw Hats meet on Punk Hazard. He is looking for his lost son, Momonosuke. [[spoiler:When he arrived on the island, Trafalgar Law sliced up his body parts (head, torso, and legs), which were then scattered throughout the area. He also ate a still unnamed Devil Fruit that he believes allows him to use sorcery.]]
-----
* AntiquatedLinguistics: Speaks in a very archaic way. For example he uses the JapanesePronoun "Sessha" (lit. my humble self) for himself, a very old and now exctinct pronoun used by samurai.
* {{Badass}}: Stormed Punk Hazard just to retrieve his son; [[spoiler: it took a Warlord to stop him and even as a legless, headless torso he can fight Brook on equal ground.]]
** [[spoiler:Oh, and his slashes [[IncendiaryExponent set things alight]]. And can cut through ''explosions''.]]
** BadassBeard
* CallingYourAttacks: Among others, Homurazaki (Fire Split) and Karyuu Issen (Fire Knife Flash).
* DirtyOldMan: Chastised Nami for her revealing clothes, only to admit that he didn't mind her dressing like that.
** He also got ''really'' jealous of his son when he used his cuteness to not only charm Nami and Robin, but also sleep in their room.
* DualWielding: So skilled that even as a legless-headless torso he can still fight back against Brook, using one of the sword to stand still.
* FunctionalMagic: He ate a Devil Fruit that granted him the ill-defined ability of sorcery, which is activated by saying "poof". He uses this to turn rocks into winter clothing, though he warns the transformation will only last so long as the clothes are being worn.
* [[spoiler:HalfTheManHeUsedToBe]]: [[spoiler: Technically 1/3rd the man he used to be. * JerkWithAHeartOfGold
* KatanasAreJustBetter: He uses ''two'' of 'em.
* [[spoiler: LiterallyShatteredLives: Happened when Brook accidentally knocked him over in chapter 696, though he inexplicably survives. Sanji immediately lampshades it and kicks him, saying he should be dead.]]
* [[spoiler:LosingYourHead]]
* MasterOfDisguise: Implied to be the intended use of his Devil Fruit ability.
* [[MyNameIsInigoMontoya My Name Is Kin'emon]]: You kidnapped my son. PrepareToDie.
* NewPowersAsThePlotDemands: Played for laughs. When he reveals his powers, he's berated for not using them earlier. He admits that he didn't because he liked seeing Nami's cleavage.
* TheNicknamer: Refers to the Straw Hats as various things from Japanese culture. For example, he calls Usopp a Tengu, and calls Robin a courtesan.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Based on the late Japanese actor Nakamura Kinnosuke, who Oda is a fan of.
* PapaWolf: See the {{Badass}} entry above.
* [[spoiler: PlayingWithFire: His fighting style allows him to cut with, and even ''through'', fire]].
* {{Samurai}}
* SpannerInTheWorks: His attempt to rescue his son has led to [[spoiler: The Straw Hat-Law team up, the end of Caeser Clown's years of SAD production, and a budding war between Kaido and Doflamingo.]]
* SuicideAsComedy: Threatens seppuku at the slightest embarrassment.
* [[spoiler: TakenForGranite: Courtesy of Shinokuni, as revealed by chapter 692. He gets better.]]
** [[spoiler: TooDumbToLive:...Because the dope tried to go back and rescue what he believed to be his son (the dragon they had encountered earlier which of course wasn't him, but he didn't know that).]]
* UngratefulBastard: Rages at the Straw Hats for being pirates as they rescue him, then blatantly takes advantage of Sanji being unwilling to leave him behind to harass him further. Grows out of it when they help him put himself back together.

[[folder: Momonosuke]]

Kin'emon's son, brought with the other children to Punk Hazard to be experimented on by Caesar Clown. Hid himself after accidentally eating an imperfect, man-made Devil Fruit made by Vegapunk and turned into a little eastern dragon as a result.
-----
* BalefulPolymorph: Driven by hunger, he ate a man-made Devil Fruit and got turned into a Dragon, but has no idea how to control the transformation. In chapter 696, he finally turns back into his human form, but soon turned into a dragon later.
* BrattyHalfPint: Apparently comes with being a KidSamurai. He quickly gets on the male Straw Hats' nerves, but puts up a cute and innocent facade to stay in the female Straw Hats' graces.
* CovertPervert: Uses his cuteness to get away with hoggling the Straw Hat ladies' breasts and get to sleep in the ladies bedroom with them.
** And to protect him from the insanely jealous Sanji, Brook, and Kin'emon while taunting them by hoggling Nami's breasts.
* {{Determinator}}: He spent ten days without eating anything at all, aside from the above Devil Fruit.
* HowDoIShootWeb: Hasn't exactly got a hold on how his powers work, changing from a dragon to his human form and back again without even realizing. There's also the fact that the Devil Fruit was one of Ceaser's SMILES and the story has yet to explain the mechanics of these fruits [[spoiler: There also seems to be some form of mind control involved as Momonosuke didn't start flying until Luffy suddenly mentions Doflamingo. Which activated some form of imagery of him in the boy's mind. Momo doesn't even remember flying when Luffy tells him later on. As such Doflamgino is ''VERY'' interested in retrieving him.]]
* KidSamurai
* MeaningfulName: The "momo" in his name comes from the Japanese word for pink, which is reflected by his dragon form being mostly pink.
** His name also refers to an old Japanese fairy tail about a boy who was born from a peach and went on to become a great samurai. When he gets hit by [[MadArtist Jola's]] powers, his head humorously changes into a peach shape.
* NewPowersAsThePlotDemands: While struck in dragon form, he has a vision of Doflamingo and suddenly becomes able to fly.
* NotQuiteFlight: As a dragon, he shows the ability to "fly" by grabbing clouds he produces.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: Unlike those seen so far, he's an eastern type, and quite small. Luffy also mistakes him for the user of the "Eel Eel" fruit.

-----
* [[spoiler: BloodFromTheMouth: After eating the drug-filled candies to prevent her friends from eating them. The poor girl ended up ''writhing on the ground in agony'', spitting blood from her mouth.]]
* CuteGiant: She is absolutely adorable, and Caesar's experiments made her huge.
* GentleGiant: She is one of the nicest of the giant children.
* IllGirl: Caesar's lie to her that she needed to stay because she and the other children were ill. [[spoiler:It was a lie, but he is poisoning her and the others with the candy. She becomes even more ill after eating all of the remaining "candies" to prevent her friends from eating the damn things.]]

* UnstoppableRage: Because of the effects of the candy [[ArcVillain Caesar Clown]] fed her and the other children. It's later subverted when she snapped out of it, unlike her friends. -----
* AwesomeMcCoolname
* FailureKnight: He seems like one to Rebecca's mother - Scarlet, but it may be implied that he knew her much longer.
** [[spoiler: Played straight: He's Rebecca's father which means, he failed to protect the mother of his child.]]
* HandicappedBadass: He may have lost one leg, but he can still escape the police and get around effortlessly.
* HiddenDepths: He knows Rebecca from his past, but judging from the latter's tears upon seeing him again, and the fact that he himself is UnableToCry, their past isn't a pretty one.
* IHaveNoIdeaWhatImDoing: When Usopp ask him what the Operation Dressrosa SOP ([[spoiler:defeating Sugar of Donquixote Family and supposedly turning every toy back to normal]]) will entail, he says he doesn't know. He only suspects that everything will turn upside down once it happens.
* LivingToys
* NiceGuy: Scaring children away from the Corrida Colosseum is rather harsh, but justified, seeing how violent the fights can get during tournaments. He's also really kind overall, helpful, and as a toy, loves making people laugh.
* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: He saved Rebecca from kidnappers when she was a child, but because he stepped in a human's house in the process, he was branded a criminal.
* ParentalSubstitute: To Rebecca.
** [[spoiler:DisappearedDad]]: His true relationship to Rebecca.
** PapaWolf: He punched a playground bully and a boy for proposing to Rebecca. And of course, saving her from more violent dangers, including a pack of wild dogs and a pair of kidnappers.
* RedBaron: "Thunderous Soldier of Rage" is actually an alias. His real name hasn't been revealed yet.
* TheReveal: [[spoiler:He's Rebecca's biological father, presumably Scarlett's husband, and King Riku's son-in-law, making him a member of the Riku royal family and one of the main targets of the Donquixote family, just like his daughter.]]
* RollerbladeGood: His only leg is fitted with this, to aid in his movement.
* TrainingThePeacefulVillagers: He realized he couldn't protect Rebecca forever given his fragile body, so he trained her so she'd be able to protect herself. Also a bit of form of ToughLove as Rebecca was kinda a brat when she was little.
* UnableToCry: Due to being a toy and all. He was more than willing to when he saw Rebecca crying herself, though.
* [[spoiler:WasOnceAMan]]: Just like every other toy in Dressrosa.

A beautiful dancer from Dressrosa, who Sanji met shortly after the crew arrived on the island. She has eaten the Glare-Glare Fruit (''Giro Giro no Mi''), a Devil Fruit that allows her to see through people, both [[XRayVision literally]] and [[LivingLieDetector figuratively]].
-----
* AlwaysVSexy
* AnimalEyeSpy: Not literally, as she doesn't need to be near birds to do it, but her Devil Fruit also allows her to have different "viewpoints", one of which is a birds-eye view which spans 40 kilometers, or roughly 24.85 miles. This means she can observe anything on and near the island (which, to put into perspective, is almost [[HeartIsAnAwesomePower the same range as Eneru's Observation Haki]] pre-timeskip).
* [[spoiler: BadassPrincess]]: A fallen one but still.
* CombatStilettos: She wears them and isn't afraid to use them as weapons.
* DidntSeeThatComing: [[spoiler:Violet was ''absolutely crucial'' to Doflamingo's scheme to defeat the Straw Hat-Law Aliance, and her defection wasn't even considered by Doflamingo's higher ups and thus has thrown a huge wrench into Doflamingo's plans... And now they can't catch her, because Violet's Devil Fruit allows her to literally see them coming from miles away, ''and'' she can read their minds to see their revised plans, allowing her to stay ahead of them.]]
* DirtyMindReading: Accidentally, when she read Sanji's mind and found out what his mind was mostly filled with.
* DoesNotLikeMen: She has great cynicism towards men, mostly because she has often been lied to. [[spoiler: She seems to make an exception for Sanji after he tells her he'd never doubt a woman's tears.]]
* [[spoiler: HeelFaceTurn: Because of Sanji's genuine belief in her and her tears, she turns against the Donflamingo family.]]

* [[spoiler: HiddenHeartOfGold: She may be an assassin, and [[WomanScorned doesn't take kindly to men doing her wrong]], but she is unwillingly working for Doflamingo, and she's actually a rather nice young woman. Sanji saw through her facade and noticed that side of her, causing her HeelFaceTurn.]]
* ImprobableWeaponUser: See SwissArmyTears below.
* KickChick: She likes kicking.
* LivingLieDetector: She can read other people's minds, allowing her to easily see through any lies.
* LostInTranslation: The reason why she can turn her tears into whales is due to a Japanese pun - The word "Mekujira" (literally Eye Whale) which stands for "eye's corner".
* MagicalEye: Her Devil Fruit powers basically turns her eyes into this.
* MeaningfulName: Her name can either be a nod to "ultraviolets" (which is often used to see things normally invisible to the human eye) or to Violet Gibson, the woman who tried to assassinate Benito Mussolini.
%%* MsFanservice
* PerceptionFilter: By holding her hands into a goggle shape and putting them over her eyes, she can "see intently" the different nature of the world and the people in it. Granted, it looks rather silly, but it's effective as hell.
* TheReveal: [[spoiler:Violet's true name is Viola, and she is the daughter of King Riku Dold III, making her a member of the Riku royal family and a princess, and the aunt of Rebecca. * {{Telepathy}}: The mind-reading type. She can also make other people read ''her'' memories.
* WhenSheSmiles: Like Robin, she actually smiles relatively often, but her genuine smiles make her look really cute.
* XRayVision: One of the powers granted by her Devil Fruit. She can see through people's clothes and skin easily.

A Super Rookie that became a contender of the Corrida Coliseum. He won the Block B battle and basically acts like a {{Heel}}. He ate the Barrier-Barrier Fruit (''Bari Bari no Mi'') which allows him to generate barriers at will.
----

* AnimeHair: Luffy's nickname of "Rooster Head" is well-deserved.
* AxCrazy: He cuts off the '''tongue''' of a guy who just talks shit about Luffy.
* BarrierWarrior: Thanks to his Devil Fruit, which he can even use as projectiles. It's strong enough to NoSell Elizabello's MegatonPunch.
* BerserkButton: Don't you dare [[spoiler:talk shit about Luffy]] in front of him. Just ask the man who got his tongue cut for doing so (if he can still say anything, that is).
* [[spoiler: BigDamnHeroes: Saves Bellamy from Dellinger.]]
* BilingualBonus: Bartolomeo's title "The Cannibal" ("Hitokui" in Japan) can also idiomatically mean "an annoying person".
* [[spoiler:FireForgedFriends: A variant: As they've fought together in the colosseum, he considers Bellamy his friend (even if the latter denied it at first). Probably as a tribute to Luffy who often did the same thing.]]
* {{Fanboy}}: Of the Straw-Hats, Luffy especially.
** AscendedFanboy: After hearing Luffy's exploits in Marineford, Bartolomeo becomes a pirate himself and managed to amass a high bounty, a reputation as a Super Rookie, and go to the New World in the span of a year, not unlike Luffy himself.
** TheKnightsWhoSaySquee: Despite the above, he still tends to become completely awestruck whenever Luffy is mentioned.
* {{GIFT}}: Replace "internet" with "barrier" and you get the idea. Complete immunity to any form of reprisal makes him not give a damn what anyone thinks of him, and he seems to have pretty much zero impulse control.
* {{Heel}}: In-universe example. The crowd hates him and he loves it, going out of his way to make the crowd hate him even more.
* HeroWorshipper: Of Luffy.
* InelegantBlubbering: Bartolomeo is reduced into this whenever he got a closer look to Luffy or one of his crewmates.
* JerkAss: And he wouldn't have it any other way.
** JerkWithAHeartOfGold: The Straw Hats, as well as his own crew, are the only people he cared about and he'll act less of an ass around them. He also considers Bellamy a worthy friend after their battle.
*** Some of his actions seem heinous but there are more pleasant interpretations possible. Did he brutalize a marine insider for kicks, or because said insider roughed up one of his crew? Did he tank Elizabelio's MegatonPunch to {{Troll}} him, or to shield the tournament audience behind him? He could've just put a barrier around himself, but chose to shield the entire audience.
* NoShirtLongJacket
* PersonalityPowers: The rare type of BarrierWarrior who lets his 'invincibility' go to his head and delights in annoying those unable to hurt him.
* RefugeInAudacity: He throws fake bombs at the Colosseum audience, pees in the pool of Fighting Fish and constantly goads the other participants.
* SempaiKohai: He uses sempai when referring to Luffy and Zoro. And eventually [[spoiler:Sabo]], when Bartolomeo discovers that he's [[spoiler:Luffy's adopted brother]].
* ShrinkingViolet: Around Luffy. When he's nearby Bartolomeo often gets teary-eyed and catatonic, and can only bring himself to talk when he's not looking directly at him.
* TheSociopath: He's basically an even worse version of Eustass Kid. Even in his best mood he's a anti-social Troll, and he's introduced by throwing a bomb at the audience members so they would stop booing him ([[CrossingTheLineTwice which, of course, was a dud so they could boo him louder]])
* TokenEvilTeamMate: Very possibly the flat-out ''nastiest'' person on this page, he nevertheless has a strong personal code of honour and is a selfless ally to the Straw Hats [[spoiler: and Bellamy.]]
* '''{{Troll}}''': Much like his real-life counterparts, Bartolomeo gets away with a lot of his antagonistic behavior with the protection of the impenetrable barrier that he erects between himself and his targets. Also, just look at that hair.
** As a demonstration, he constantly trolled Dellinger while he puts up a barrier to protect himself and Bellamy, and Dellinger gets angry over him until Diamante called him off.
