* AffectionateNickname: "Charming" originally was a pet name used exclusivly by Snow before becoming widly known by the inhabitans of Storybrook and developing into his general InUnicerseNickname.

* AdaptationalBadass: In ''Literature/SnowWhite'' and the [[WesternAnimation/SnowWhiteAndTheSevenDwarves Disney animated adaptation]], the Prince is portrayed as a NonActionGuy who saves Snow White via TrueLovesKiss. In the series, Charming is a very capable swordsman and one of the best warriors of the show.

* AdaptationalBadass: In [[WesternAnimation/SnowWhiteAndTheSevenDwarfs the original movie]], she is just a pure princess who has been taken in by the dwarfs and only has her happy ending through true love's kiss. Here, not only is she a bandit who survives the harsh woods before meeting Prince Charming, she is also a warrior who won't hesitate to fight for her loved ones. She still kept her sweet nature but in battle, you wouldn't recognize her.

* SweaterGirl: As Mary Margaret, which fits her wholesome image.

* DyingDeclarationOfLove: His last words are to reiterate his love for his son, Emma, and, finally, his father.]]
* EasilyForgiven: He has his problems with his father, no doubt, but he seemingly bears no ill will towards him being the one to kill his mother.

* ShipSinking: Sunk with Emma as of Series 2. Particularly now he's been turned back into a young child, and Emma already has two other love interests (Neal and Hook).

* DarkChick: As Lacey, Belle is attracted to darkness and violence and ends up only encouraging Rumplestiltskin to give into his worst desires.

* HasTwoMommies: To the extent that the war between Regina and Emma sometimes feels like a custody battle. As of Season 3, it appears that they've finally come to terms with this trope; they refer to Henry as "our son". Eventually, he has ''three'': Emma, Regina and the serum-created Evil Queen, and two daddies: biological (and deceased) father Neal/Baelfire and stepfather Killian Jones/Captain Hook.

* HasTwoMommies: Baelfire has two important father figures in his life. Granted the only time they're all in the same room is when Hook is unconscious and Rumplestiltskin is dying of poison.

* OverprotectiveDad: Takes on this whenever Emma is around Hook, or any guy, really. In fact, his response to Emma's ex turning into a monkey was that she was engaged to him in the first place.

* ShipperOnDeck: For Emma and Neal, albeit more subtly than Snow. He gives Emma some advice on repairing her relationship with Neal. She's pretty sure it's because Hook has feelings for her and Hook's mere existence sets Charming's teeth on edge and into OverprotectiveDad mode.

* SexSlave: Once his heart is removed, he is this to the Evil Queen / Regina in both worlds.

* RaisedByWolves: In the Enchanted Forest, it's to the point that he doesn't acknowledge having a name, though he's somehow learned human speech and is literate.

* LikeBrotherAndSister: [[WordOfSaintPaul Meghan Ory]] sees Prince Charming as a sort of brother figure to Red; "He's the younger brother sometimes, and sometimes he's the older brother."

** DemotedToExtra: WordOfGod is that they planned to do more with her, but the show's ever-increasing character roster meant they just couldn't find any room for it. Ory was released from her contract after Season 2 and quickly got a lead role on [[Series/{{Intelligence2014}} another series]], but remains on good terms with the crew and says she hopes to still make an occasional appearance. She does manage to turn up thirteen episodes into Season 3, and an explanation for her absence is given when she returns in Season 5.

* BigBrotherInstinct: WordOfGod has said that they've moved August into big brother territory with Emma. However, this was subverted in Season 1 when August asked Emma out on a date and Creator/EionBailey's audition material was Bonnie & Clyde.

* DeaderThanDead: He's hit by Zeus' lightning, supposedly preventing him from having any afterlife. However, Henry suggests that Hades was lying (and WordOfGod eventually confirmed it).

* NotGoodWithPeople: As the Huntsman, he prefers the company of animals to that of people. The Evil Queen mistakes this for ruthlessness.

* MeaningfulName: Henry means "House of Rulers", which is fitting, since his most of his fairy tale family have royal blood in them. In-universe, it's the name of Regina's dead father, whom she sacrificed to enact the Dark Curse.
