* TheAhnold: Looks and acts like a comedic parody of your typical big-muscled gun-toting brainless action flick. In the first issue alone, when Ichicun and Asrial are having a tug of war over Jeremy, he leaps through a window dual-wielding a shotgun and a submachine gun before firing them at random. When the girls stare at him in shock, he gets sheepish and apologizes, explaining that he thought he he heard an explosion.

* GirlyBruiser: Despite being a Salusian princess and well-trained in diplomacy and etiquette, Asrial does genuinely enjoy fighting. Even motherhood fails to dull this fiery spirit of hers; in the Shidoshi story "Tales of Quagmire", she takes up ''amateur pro wrestling'' as a hobby.

* AbsenceMakesTheHeartGoYonder: Zigzagged. After spending a year trapped in another dimension, followed by Heidi being PutOnABus for much of the starting portion of ''Shidoshi'', Ricky acknowledges to an interested Sora that he's starting to wonder if he's still in love with her, and the two become rather close. However, when Heidi finally returns during the "Blue Food 2" storyline, he immediately tries to pick up their relationship as if it had never been interrupted. But at the same time, he and Sora still spend a lot of time together. It culminates in Heidi confronting him in the storyline "Family Ties" and deciding to break up with him.

* HardWorkHardlyWorks: Subverted. Although Ricky definitely has plenty of natural talent, the Shidoshi arc in particular drives home that mere talent is not enough.
* LampshadeHanging: When his mother asks him how he would feel about having more ninjas living in the Feeple house in the Shidoshi issue "Heartbeeps", Ricky immediately asks if his mom is setting up an ArrangedMarriage behind his back. When she asks why, he points out Jeremy's own dealings with Ichikun and Asrial when he was younger, and then brings up his own near-relationship with Yumei, who came to Quagmire under orders to [[BestHerToBedHer wed him if he defeated her in combat]], only to leave him behind for first a blind samurai and then a robot double of Ricky during his time spent trapped in another dimension.

When battling with his self-proclaimed {{Archenemy}} Slade, after hearing Slade's backstory, Boscoe even offers to let Slade kill him. The sincerity of his offer convinces Slade to give up on his vendetta.

He laughs when Slade informs him that he wants to kill Boscoe because Boscoe accidentally caused the child Slade to trip and drop his fishbowl, resulting in the death of Slade's beloved pet goldfish Henry. Then he apologizes for that outburst and tries to make amends, ultimately offering his own life in atonement.

A German MadScientist obsessed with [[SteamPunk the untapped potentials

* AccidentalMarriage: He believes he has the right to claim Ichikun as his wife due to a combination of how lowly his tribe regards women and the fact a bottle bearing a message of Ichikun's extending her hand in friendship to whoever found it washed up on Guri-Guri Island when he was little, and he's the one who found it.
* CharacterDevelopment: After being defeated by Jeremy (thanks to a Salusian "fruit drink" that gave him SuperStrength), he settles down at the Feeple household and starts learning more about the outside world, which causes him to become a lot nicer and less sexist.
* GiantSquid: Keeps a massive squid named Sigmund as his loyal pet and assistant.
* GreenThumb: He has the ability to create rapidly growing vines by sowing seeds from his homeland, which seem to obey his verbal command.
* HeManWomanHater: He hails from a tribal culture which views women as only suitable for, in his own words, "doing chores and bearing children". He is thusly openly contemptuous of all women he meets.
* JerkAss: He's an arrogant, rude, aggressive and sexist individual who treats everybody he meets with contempt; men for not being "manly" enough, women for just being women and thusly inherently inferior.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: He's introduced as an antagonist whose most defining trait is easily his scornful attitude towards women.
* SuperStrength: He's strong enough to literally rip Asrial's PoweredArmor apart with his bare hands.

Ricky's three best friends. Francis is Mikey's little brother, whilst Chester is Howard's cousin. All three become the second generation team of Zetramen, known as the Zetra-Rangers due to including the girl Joanna amongst their ranks.

to:

* AccidentalMarriage: BeenThereShapedHistory: He believes met Jeremy's paternal grandfather when he has first migrated to the right USA, and Jeremy's father when he first took up residency as the science teacher at Quagmire High. He met Count Boscoe whilst working for the US government during the 2nd World War and empowered Terry with her cyber-body.

to claim Ichikun as the mutagenic steam fumes created by boiling the mysterious radioactive element Zetranite.
* CaptainErsatz: Between
his wife due to a combination of how lowly genius, his tribe regards women background (a German of Jewish descent who became a scientist in pre-WW2 Germany), and his appearance (on the short side with wild hair), he's highly reminiscent of Albert Einstein.
* CatchPhrase: "Steam will save the world!"
* FanServicePack: For most of the series, Steamhead is not exactly a looker. "Midget Albert Einstein with ScaryShinyGlasses and somewhat crooked teeth" is probably the easiest way to sum him up. But after leaping through dimensions in Volume 3, he becomes much younger and handsomer looking, with his outfit changing into something that resembles [[WesternAnimation/InvaderZim Professor Membrane's.]]
* FriendlyRivalry: The fact that Steamhead values steam while Beanhead values beans inevitably results in the two getting into arguments when they get together. That said, between frequently being on the same side
and the fact a bottle bearing a message of Ichikun's extending her hand in friendship to whoever found it washed up on Guri-Guri Island that the two still respect the other's discipline (mostly just arguing over which is better), the two are steadfast friends and very easily work together when he the situation arises.
* HerrDoktor: Downplayed. Despite actually being a German who
was little, and alive during UsefulNotes/WorldWarII, he doesn't really fit any of the stereotypical elements, even lacking the iconic accent. Not least of all in that he's a German Jew (sort of) who fought for the one ''Allies'' during the war.
* InformedJudaism: Although issue #24 of the comic reveals his backstory as a German
who found it.

fled in the early 1930s because he was ostracized for his Jewish ancestry by Jeremy (thanks to a Salusian "fruit drink" the newly empowered Nazis, he never performs any "obviously Jewish" acts in the series. It's justified in that gave him SuperStrength), he settles down at the Feeple household and starts learning Steamhead is clearly more about interested in science than religion, and didn't even think of himself as Jewish; he simply fell afoul of the outside world, which causes him to become Nazi "blood purity" laws, having a lot nicer and less sexist.

MadScience: He's an arrogant, rude, aggressive and sexist individual who treats everybody he meets a brilliant scientist, but absolutely obsessed with contempt; men steam, even trading his assistance to Asrial in her initial duel against Ichikun for not being "manly" enough, women for just being women and thusly inherently inferior.

"steamology", particularly if they believe in rival power sources like solar power. Despite being crazy, he's very much a heroic character.
* SuperStrength: MiniatureSeniorCitizens: He's strong enough barely waist-high on an average teenage girl like Asrial. Flashbacks show, however, that he's always been that short - even as a young man, he was always only about half the height of most others.
* {{Nephewism}}: His niece Joanna, daughter of his long-lost sister, shows up
to literally rip Asrial's PoweredArmor apart live with him during the 4-year timeskip.

late 70s at the earliest when the series starts, but is full of vim and Jacob

!!Professor Hossenfeffer
An old rival of Professor Steamhead's who works for Rivalsan Lendo as his personal MadScientist.

* BlackAndNerdy: Francis, the African-American member of the trio, and clearly the most nerdy.
* DarkSecret: Jacob treats his father's homosexuality as a shameful secret, trying to hide it from his friends for fear of their reaction.
* ElementalPowers: As the Zetra-Rangers, they have elemental powers just like their predecessors.
* FatBestFriend: Chester is the most portly of Ricky's three friends in volume 1, but gets fitter after the 4-year time skip to volume 2.
* HasTwoMommies: Jacob's father is gay and has a live-in boyfriend, if not husband.

evil enough, issue #27 reveals a BadFuture created to be when Hossenfeffer secretly plundered Rivalsan Tetsuo's personal underling. Looks like a hulking warrior resources under Lendo's nose and then used them to start his own megacorp, which sold out Earth to the Zardon Empire. Then in issue #29, he steals a TimeMachine and tries to travel back in time to help the Nazis win UsefulNotes/WorldWarII with his advanced technology.
* GoneHorriblyRight: Attempts to brainwash Jeremy in order to make him forcibly reject his ArrangedMarriage to Ichikun in the third issue. Instead, it gives him a SuperpoweredEvilSide that persists for the rest
of the series.
* HerrDoktor: Downplayed. Like Professor Steamhead, he's
a post-apocalyptic manga, German MadScientist who has been around since UsefulNotes/WorldWarII, but he doesn't look stereotypically German or use the accent, at least unless he's particular annoyed. He ''is'' a former Nazi scientist, however.

* MadScientistsBeautifulDaughter: Granddaughter, actually; the tall, blond and sultry sexpot Brunhilda, who also works as one of Rivalsan Lendo's goons,
is actually established in the 3rd issue as Hossenfeffer's granddaughter.
* MiniatureSeniorCitizens: He's just as short as his rival.
* SolarPunk: Whereas Professor Steamhead is obsessed with the untapped scientific potential of steam, Professor Hossenfeffer is fixated on solar energy.

!!Professor Beanhead
An old colleague of Professor Steamhead's, Professor Beanhead is
a robot built from chocolate.MadScientist who is obsessed with "beanology", the use of irradiated beans. He is the science teacher at Gundam High School in Japan, the home school of Ichikun and Hitomi Ichinohei.

Added DiffLines:

* FriendlyRivalry: Unlike with Professor Hossenfeffer, Steamhead and Beanhead get on spectacularly well and are clearly close friends, even if they do argue over whether steamology or beanology is superior.
* MadScientist: He's the founder of "beanology", which attempts to make useful technology by using irradiated beans as a base.
* MiniatureSeniorCitizens: He's as short as Steamhead and Hossenfeffer.

[[folder: Side Characters]]
!!Arnie
A teacher at Quagmire Hire who looks like he could have stepped out of an 80s ActionHero movie you care to name. He's effectively been Jeremy and Ricky's surrogate father since their biological dad vanished.
----
* TheAhnold: Looks and acts like a comedic parody of your typical big-muscled gun-toting brainless action flick.
** In issue 2, he interrupts an impending brawl between Ichikun and Asrial by (harmlessly) blowing them up with a bazooka at the request of Principle Weasel.
* BadassNormal: He's TheAhnold, but taken just seriously enough to be a serious badass when the chips are down. He's fearless, incredibly strong, and very adept with weaponry. Issue #11 reveals he's basically Quagmire's on-call superhero. This is taken further in issue #20, where it's revealed that Arnie's elder brother was part of a regular duel between champions of good and evil that sways the cosmic balance between those forces, and that's a position that Arnie has inherited.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Arnie's beloved elder brother was nearly killed during the Great Contest when Arnie was young. He also lost his girlfriend Julie when she insisted on being on the shakedown cruise for the experimental Space Battle Fortress-1; the Earth Defense League made the mistake of testing its "star-jump drive" during that cruise, and since its only power source was Professor Hossenfeffer's solarbeam power matrix, it didn't have enough power for a return jump and became lost in deep space.
* FunetikAccent: Talks in a distinctive accent that reads like an attempt to transcribe Sylvester Stallone's diction. Interestingly, a flashback shows that this is a relatively recent development for him.
* HiddenDepths: Despite looking and acting like your standard muscle-brained action hero, he's actually surprisingly caring and thoughtful. In issue #27, he even gets into a debate with Professor Steamhead about steamology mathematic equations.
* ShoutOut: He's basically a parody of Creator/SylvesterStallone, and looks more or less like an expy of John Rambo.

!!Mikey, Howard and Phrank
Three trouble-making students at Quagmire High, and Jeremy Feeple's friends.
----
* BadassNormal: Despite being students, they are surprisingly capable fighters; when Jeremy needs to attack Rivalsan's headquarters in the first few issues, they grab some guns and join Arnie in making a guns-blazing motorized assault, tearing through Lendo's ninja underlings. Their first thought when Terry goes off to fight after meeting her is to grab some guns and tag along.
* DudeWheresMyRespect: They defeat Dog Supreme in their first outing as the Zetramen in issue #11, albeit in the series' usual comedic manner, but end up being slapped around by Terry for lechery, shot with a bazooka and scolded by Ms. Celande, and then forced to clean up the rubble left by their fight.
* ElementalPowers: After being turned in Zetramen by Professor Steamhead in issue #11, each of the trio gains a unique elemental ability as part of the process.
** Mikey, as Zetra One, has the power of [[MakingASplash Water]].
** Howard, as Zetra Two, has the power of [[DishingOutDirt Earth]].
** Phrank, as Zetra Three, has the power of [[BlowYouAWay Wind]].
* EmpoweredBadassNormal: They get turned into the first of a new generation of Zetramen in issue #11, which grants them increased physical abilities and ElementalPowers.
* {{Fartillery}}: In an IncrediblyLamePun, Phrank mistakes his powers as Zetra Three as the ability to make super-nasty farts in issue #11.
* GiantRobot: As the Zetramen, they have access to a giant battle robot they can use for superheroing.
* HiddenDepths: Despite being kind of thuggish, when they stumble across a crashed alien baby in an escape pod being pursued by murderous aliens, they immediately change into their Zetramen forms and save the baby.
* MadeOfIron: Howard catches the flying Terry, who weighs several hundred pounds due to her cybernetic augmentations and armor, and is only mildly stunned for a moment.
* ThanksForTheMammary: The first thing Howard does after snapping back to consciousness after being squashed by Terry? Take advantage of her concern to grab one of her boobs.

!!Hokuto no Kenterminator
A hulking and fearsome cyborg mercenary who works for Rivalsan Lendo.
----
* TheAhnold: He's a gruff, no-nonsense, gun-toting mercenary who looks like a combination of Kenshiro and Arnold Schwarzenegger in his role as the T-800 Terminator.
* CompositeCharacter: He's basically a blend of blend of [[Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar Kenshiro]] and [[Franchise/{{Terminator}} the T-800]], even looking essentially like the T-800 with Kenshiro's distinctive North Star scars.
* HollywoodCyborg: As part of his T-800 homage, he looks like a grizzled human mercenary, but underneath a fake skin, he's a battle-ready robot.
* RivalsTeamUp: He's sent to join The Great Contest, which affects the inclination of the cosmic balance between good and evil, on the side of the heroes in issue #20.
* RocketPunch: One of his battle components is an extendable arm, allowing him to deliver punches or a FacePalmOfDoom from an extended distance.

!!Mimi Masters
A librarian descended from a family of witches whose ancestor was hanged by one of Jeremy Feeple's ancestors, Jeremiah Feeple. As her ancestor died, she cursed the firstborn of the Feeple family to suffer terrible luck upon reaching the age of 16. When she learned that there was such a Feeple alive, she sought to undo her ancestor's curse, feeling it was no longer a fair punishment.
----
* TheAtoner: Downplayed example. She doesn't feel a lot of personal attachment to the issue, but she does enter the comic after learning the Feeple line still exists and feeling that the SinsOfOurFathers treatment is unjust.
* CuteWitch: She's both an attractive young woman and a fairly skilled magic user.
* DrunkOnTheDarkSide: [[spoiler:Whilst battling the demon siblings Stanley and Lillith for the fate of Jeremy's soul in Hell -- long story -- she invokes the demonic patron of her family and is transformed into a super-charged BlackMage version of herself, only to end up forgetting all about her mission and becoming a ravenous fiend who seeks to ascend to the Queen of Hell.]]

!!Sammi Kondo
A girl who was brought up as a boy by her father, who had boasted all throughout her mother's pregnancy that she would be a strong son and was then humiliated when she gave him a daughter. He promptly trained her to be a great martial artist and then sent her to live with her uncle in Quagmire, telling her that her uncle didn't know she was a girl and would die of shock if the truth about her gender came out..

** During the Great Contest arc, [[spoiler:she disguises herself as "Ramen Rider", a ramen-based parody of ''Franchise/KamenRider''.]]
* {{Irony}}: [[spoiler: She finally learns in the volume 2 issue "Walk like a man! At this point, Sammi has been upholding her secret and living in fear of her uncle having a heart attack for over ''four years''. Needless to say, she is '''livid''' when she learns the truth.]]
* PoorCommunicationKills: Lampshaded when she first meets the Quagmire Koala Cheerleaders and gets into a fight with them; she admits that she could probably solve the matter without violence by just ''telling them'' that she's a girl and that's why she's rejecting Sandy, but she refuses to do so for fear of that information getting back to her uncle.
** Subverted with Leatherwings; she comes clean to him about her true gender, and clears up the romantic entanglements before they can truly form.
* MartialArtsAndCrafts: [[spoiler:Her Ramen Rider identity uses a fighting style that takes its philosophical cues from the common ingredients of ramen, and is even able to cook spirit-boosting bowls of ramen to eat.]]
* MistakenForGay: She falls in love with Leatherwings, a member of the Y-Men, only to learn that a) he's gay, and b) he's attracted to her as well because he thinks ''she'' is another gay boy.
* TemptingFate: After Ichikun is forced by her sense of honor to agree to fight Sammi on behalf of the Quagmire Koala Cheerleaders, and then takes her homework back from Sammi, who hadn't finished hers before class, Sammi makes the mistake of asking what else can go wrong. Cue Professor Steamhead showing up right at that moment, [[HyperspaceMallet Incomplete Homework Hammer]] in hand, and asking her ''where'' her finished homework is.
* WholesomeCrossdresser: She's been brought up as a boy her whole life, and dresses like a guy, but she knows she's a girl and has no interest in other girls.
* WouldHitAGirl: She has no qualms about beating up anyone who picks a fight with her, even if they are openly female.

!!Terry
A former desk clerk at the American superhero organization task force deployment office, she got bored and volunteered for a position in cyernetic law enforcement, being rebuilt as a powerful cyborg police-officer and then shipped to Quagmire. She was found and activated by Jeremy's delinquent friends Mikey, Howard and Phrank after being unknowingly stored in the police station basement.
----
* ChainmailBikini: Of the "Boob Plate" subtrope; what makes Terry's gender obvious even when she's wearing her Robocop-style helmet is that her armored torso bulges in a distinctly boob-like fashion. The student Howard even cops a feel of one of her breasts in issue #11, despite the armor plating.
* {{Expy}}: She's a female version of ''Film/RoboCop'', at least when dressed up in her armor.
* MegatonPunch: In classic anime fashion, she hates being perved on, and responds with comedically powerful punches and kicks that send the improper souls flying.

!!Fujiko
Hitomi's best friend.
----
* CovertPervert: When it's announced the boys are in the showers in issue 12, she is ''first'' at the peephole, eager for the chance to see Jeremy Feeple "in the flesh".
* CrashIntoHello: Invoked in chapter 12; she ''deliberately'' trips at their first face-to-face meeting in hopes of getting a hug and perhaps a kiss out of Jeremy when she stumbles into him. Subverted when Hitomi blocks her by using her bookbag to slap Fujiko in the face.
* FriendlyRivalry: Though she and Hitomi are good friends, they're also fiercely competitive over boys, and when both of them try to stake a claim to Jeremy Feeple, things get heated.

!!Jaka, Baka and Nestor
Three male Salusian commandos sent to Earth to keep an eye on Jeremy Feeple and make sure he marries Asrial once the Salusians learn that the Zardons have sent their own agent to Earth.
----
* DumbMuscle: None of them are particularly bright.
* LittleBitBeastly: As with all Salusians, they sport their true skunk ears atop their head when in human form.
* MeaningfulName: Baka, the biggest and dimmest of the trio, has a name that is literally Japanese for "fool" or "idiot".
* NinjaLog: To give them credit, they do manage to rescue Jeremy from Leeanna's arms in issue 13 by switching him with a dummy without her initially noticing.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Jaka starts dreaming big when he believes they have successfully completed their mission in issue 13, even imagining they might name him as the new Salusian God-Emperor!

!!Miki, Asashi, and Numuri
Three female students from Gundam High School who are Hitomi and Fujiko's friends. They're all skilled fighters and often act to back them up in a crisis.
----
* ActionGirl: They're all skilled enough fighters that Hitomi trusts them to have her back.

!!Count Boscoe
A sweet-natured vampire who got kicked out of his ancestral castle for forgetting to pay property taxes and promptly had to move in with his only living descendant, his "niece" Jesibell, who just so happens to live in Quagmire, USA.
----
* BeenThereShapedHistory: Downplayed, but he actually met Professor Steamhead during UsefulNotes/WorldWarII and helped him find his first samples of Zetranite.
* CharmPerson: He has the traditional "hypnotic vampire gaze", but it can be easily avoided.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Despite being a vampire, Count Boscoe is a very sweetnatured, easy-going and extremely reasonable fellow who shuns feeding on blood and seeks to avoid conflict. When battling with his self-proclaimed {{Archenemy}} Slade, after hearing Slade's backstory, Boscoe even offers to let Slade kill him. The sincerity of his offer convinces Slade to give up on his vendetta.

* HollywoodCyborg: She's a [[Franchise/{{Terminator}} T-800 style]] cyborg; a seemingly human synethetic skin wrapped around a FemBot body.
* LittleMissBadass: Looks like a cute young girl, but is actually a time traveling cyborg warrior with SuperStrength.
* SetWrongWhatWentRight: Zigzagged. She believes that this is her mission, but then discovers she was actually sent on a SuicideMission, as her creators believed she was obsolete.

!!The Quagmire Koala Cheerleaders
A team of five martial arts-practicing cheerleaders for Quagmire High's official sport's team, the "Quagmire Koalas" Led by Dane, they include Minerva, Kay, Cleo and Sandy. After the time skip, Dane goes on to become an action movie star.
----
* ActionGirl: They all practice martial arts and take them as seriously as they do their cheerleading. They're actually skilled warriors, to the point they've frightened off every applicant to the team other than Ichikun with their rigorous combat-based tests.
* MartialArtsAndCrafts: They're Combat Cheerleaders, which means they practice a mixture of martial arts and cheerleading routines, with weaponized cheerleader equipment, that could have come straight out of ''Manga/RanmaOneHalf''.
* SeriousBusiness: Being stronger and better fighters than any of the guys around is this for the Cheerleaders as a whole, and Dane in particular, who believes it is her family legacy to stand up for female empowerment. It's lampshaded by the others that her way of thinking is kind of loony.
* SweetOnPollyOliver: Sandy inadvertently falls for Sammi Sasuke due to mistaking her for a boy. This causes them to get into a fight with Sammi to avenge Sandy's honor when Sammi refuses her affections. [[spoiler:Sammi ultimately comes clean to her, whereupon the enraged Sandy beats Sammi senseless with a HyperspaceMallet.]]

!!Akaru Kaiju
A savage wild boy from a lost tribe who live on Guri-Guri Island. He arrives at Quagmire in issue #35, seeking to make Ichikun his wife. As a result, he and Jeremy fight a duel over the right to her hand.
----
* AccidentalMarriage: He believes he has the right to claim Ichikun as his wife due to a combination of how lowly his tribe regards women and the fact a bottle bearing a message of Ichikun's extending her hand in friendship to whoever found it washed up on Guri-Guri Island when he was little, and he's the one who found it.

!!Francis, Chester and Jacob
Ricky's three best friends. Francis is Mikey's little brother, whilst Chester is Howard's cousin. All three become the second generation team of Zetramen, known as the Zetra-Rangers due to including the girl Joanna amongst their ranks.
----
* BlackAndNerdy: Francis, the African-American member of the trio, and clearly the most nerdy.

!!Sventerminator
A replacement for Kenterminator created to be Rivalsan Tetsuo's personal underling. Looks like a hulking warrior out of a post-apocalyptic manga, but is actually a robot built from chocolate.

* CaptainErsatz: Between his genius, his background (a German of Jewish descent who became a scientist in pre-WW2 Germany), and his appearance (on the short side with wild hair), he's highly reminiscent of Albert Einstein.

* FriendlyRivalry: The fact that Steamhead values steam while Beanhead values beans inevitably results in the two getting into arguments when they get together. That said, between frequently being on the same side and the fact that the two still respect the other's discipline (mostly just arguing over which is better), the two are steadfast friends and very easily work together when the situation arises.

[[folder: Volume 1 Protagonists]]
!!Jeremy Feeple
An average guy introduced as a high-schooler living in the American Midwestern town of Quagmire, Jeremy believed he was just like any other kid, even if his family had a fairly checkered past. He was to be disillusioned of this fact as he found himself pursued by a beautiful ninja heiress and an exotic alien princess.
----
* {{Animorphism}}: When Jaka, Baka and Nestor first arrive on Earth, they transform Jeremy into a Salusian against his will. He is ultimately restored to normal. Then, during the 4-issue "We're Off to Outer Space!" storyline, Jeremy is forced to voluntarily transform himself into a Salusian in order to better blend in Salusia. [[spoiler:So he can hunt down a conspiracy plotting against the royal family.]]
* DidTheyOrDidntThey: The first part of the 4-issue "We're Off to Outer Space!" storyline ends with Jeremy and Asrial retiring to Jeremy's room to "talk", with the final panels being a "do not disturb" light going on over the door and a shot of the ship from space. The next issue has Jeremy goiing through his morning toilette before being hugged by an underwear-clad Asrial, who addresses him as "lover-boy" and hopes she wasn't too rough the previous night... before Jeremy replies that she warned him that Salusian chess would be difficult to master, leaving it ambiguous if anything actually happened or not. [[spoiler:Then the Volume 2 issue "The Long Good-Bye" confirms that they did indeed sleep together, and Asrial got pregnant as a result.]]
** [[spoiler:It happens again in Volume 2, where it's implied that Jeremy slept with Ichikun at the end of the issue "Talk like a man! Walk like a man!", but he insists in the issue "Battles" that nothing happened and they just talked.]]
* EvilTwin: [[spoiler:In Volume 2, an insane version of Jeremy from another timeline where Asrial was killed by Lorna shows up, attempting to "save" all versions of Asrial by preventing her from having ever been. Fortunately, Ricky defeats him.]]
* HappilyMarried: [[spoiler:It takes until the Volume 2 issue "All Good Things", but he and Asrial do get married after Ricky stops Jeremy's EvilTwin from obliterating time.]]
* HiddenDepths: Jeremy reveals over the course of the series that he is surprisingly clever, wise and courageous for somebody introduced as "just an average joe". [[spoiler:The kicker may be in the issue "The Politics of War", which has him try to shoot down the Zardon traitor's escape pod himself, only to be shot in the process.]]
* HollywoodHomely: Jeremy is supposedly very plain looking, if not outright ugly; Ichikun recoils in disgust when presented with a picture of him and informed of her ArrangedMarriage, whilst when the computer randomly selects him as Asrial's mate, the whole Salusian crew falls about laughing at her being saddled with such an ugly spouse. The art style certainly doesn't really convey this, and he seems no more or less attractive than any of the other guys in town. Seems to be downplayed as the series progresses; during his stint at Gundam High School, girls are shown to find him quite attractive.
* LiteralSplitPersonality: In issue #25, he falls afoul of a malfunctioning, Asrial-repaired copier that splits him into about a hundred different Jeremys, each of which is dominated by one particular aspect of his personaltiy.
* MartialPacifist: Downplayed. Jeremy is a skilled fencer, but prefers not to fight. However, he does have limits to his temper and can get violent if provoked -- he just won't default to attacking somebody to sort a problem out, even if he's attacked first.
* OnlySaneMan: Jeremy has an incredible ability to stay calm and reasonable whilst keeping things in perspective, no matter how crazy his life becomes. It's this side of him that causes Asrial to start falling in love with him for real.
* OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent: Jeremy is, when introduced, just your everyday high school student. In fact, he's almost aggressively normal, since it's open knowledge in the family that his mom is a retired ninja warrior, but Jeremy never was interested in training.
** Steadily subverted over the course of the series. He gains a SuperPoweredEvilSide in issue #3. In issue #6, it's revealed that Jeremy suffers a familial curse that dooms him to extreme bad luck, with his engagements to both Ichikun and Asrial explicitly called out as symptoms of the curse. In Issue #9, he reveals he's actually an expert fencer, despite his disinterest in violence.
* RageBreakingPoint:
** When corrupt nobles seeking to return King Rat to the throne of Dimension X poison his father, Jeremy forgets his normal pacifistic ways and immediately tries to attack the ringleader of the conspiracy.
** After the Zardons torture Asrial during their invasion of Earth, he vows revenge against them and does his best to fight them. [[spoiler:He even shoots down a Zardonian official's escape pod.]]
* SuperpoweredEvilSide: After a brainwashing experiment by Professor Hossenfeffer in issue #3 GoneHorriblyRight, Jeremy develops a split personality with both SuperIntelligence and a malevolent, domineering nature, determined to conquer the world and able to defeat Rivalsan Lendo effortlessly.
* UnluckyEveryDude: Is changed into this from issue #6 onward, with the explanation that the firstborn Feeple of each generation always suffers extreme bad luck when they reach the age of 16.

!!Ichikun Ichinohei, aka "Itchy Koo"
Heir to the Ichinohei ninja clan, Ichikun was eager to assume the mantle of leadership from her grandfather, Kudasai, but lost to him in a challenge for the title. He instead decreed that she must travel to the city Quagmire in the American Midwest and convince the boy Jeremy Feeple to marry her; if she couldn't, then she would not inherit the position.
----
* ArrangedMarriage: Her engagement to Jeremy was decided by her grandfather and Jeremy's parents before either she or Jeremy were born.
* AwfulWeddedLife: [[spoiler: Marries Lendo during the 4-year timeskip between volumes 1 and 2, and is absolutely miserable, as Lendo is a cold, distant spouse who spends all his time trying to earn more and more money and pays her little attention.]] [[spoiler:It does improve after Lendo risks his life to rescue Ichikun from demonic mind control in "Getting Axed", and they end up genuinely falling in love.]]
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: Uses the DangerousForbiddenTechnique of "the Ninja Mind Meld" to undo Jeremy's brainwashing in issue 3, despite the danger it poses to her own mind, because of how nice Jeremy has been to her since they met.
* GoldDigger: Initially, Ichikun intended only to marry Jeremy so as to be decreed the Ichinohei leader, with her plan being to divorce him immediately after she was confirmed.
* HyperspaceMallet: She uses one of these in issue #2 when Asrial starts flirting with Jeremy in front of her. Unusually for this trope, she actually uses it ''on Asrial herself'', instead of hitting Jeremy, as would be the case in ''Manga/RanmaOneHalf'' or similar series. She goes on to use it repeatedly through the series.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Most people refer to Ichikun by her nickname, "Itchy Koo", to the point it's actually not until issue #3 that we learn what her first name really is.
* PerfectlyArrangedMarriage: Zigzagged. Initially, Ichikun hated the idea of being in an ArrangedMarriage with Jeremy, and only went along with the idea because it was the only way to become clan leader, like she wanted. But over time, she feel genuinely in love with him... only to then surrender gracefully when he chose Asrial as his wife over her instead.
* SecondLove: Lendo was her dogged would-be pursuer up until Jeremy chose Asrial, whereupon Ichikun finally accepted his feelings for her. She came to love him back and ultimately married him.
* {{Seppuku}}: She threatens in issue #2 that she will have to do this due to being dishonored if Jeremy refuses to marry her should she win her duel with Asrial.
* ShoutOut: Her nickname, "Itchy Koo", is a reference to the 1960s song "Itchykoo Park" by the Small Faces.
* SympatheticAdulterer: [[spoiler: She sleeps with Jeremy despite being married to Lendo in the volume 2 issue "Walk like a man! Talk like a man!" She's treated sympathetically for this behavior because she is miserable married to Lendo, having only wed him to get back at Jeremy for sleeping with Asrial. That said, Jeremy states in the subsequent issue "Battles" that they actually didn't have sex.]]

!!Asrial
A princess of the Salusian Imperial Conglomerate, Asrial was sent to Earth by her father to Earth with a simple mission: marry a randomly selected human so that the Conglomerate could legally claim Earth as a protectorate planet, and block the maneuvering of one of their political rivals. The computer chose Jeremy Feeple, and she was sent down to convince him to wed her.
----
* ArrangedMarriage: Zigzagged. Initially, Asrial is sent to Earth to marry a randomly chosen Earthling in order to formally mark Earth as part of the Imperial Conglomerate. Then issue #3 reveals both that the plan was called off and that the computer glitched and wasn't supposed to select Jeremy. She keeps these facts to herself and continues to pursue Jeremy because she likes him, though.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Asrial is introduced as a calm, polite, well-behaved girl... and then the crew makes her mad by laughing about her selected mate, whereupon she intimidates them into silence by bending a random girder.
* CompositeCharacter: She mostly comes off as an {{Expy}} of Lum from ''Manga/UruseiYatsura'', being an alien princess who is technically invading Earth and who wishes to marry the main human protagonist, getting involved in a LoveTriangle with his would-be human girlfriend as a result. However, her SuperStrength calls to mind Shinobu, Lum's rival, or perhaps Akane Tendo from ''Manga/RanmaOneHalf'', Shinobu's spiritual successor.
* DidTheyOrDidntThey: The first part of the 4-parter "We're Off to Outer Space!" storyline ends with Jeremy and Asrial retiring to Jeremy's room to "talk", with the final panels being a "do not disturb" light going on over the door and a shot of the ship from space. The next issue has Jeremy going through his morning toilette before being hugged by an underwear-clad Asrial, who addresses him as "lover-boy" and hopes she wasn't too rough the previous night... before Jeremy replies that she warned him that Salusian chess would be difficult to master, leaving it ambiguous if anything actually happened or not. * HappilyMarried: [[spoiler:It takes until the Volume 2 issue "All Good Things", but she and Jeremy do get married after Ricky stops Jeremy's EvilTwin from obliterating time.]]
* PoweredArmor: Dresses up for battle in the hightech equivalent of a ChainmailBikini, which makes her look like a [[MoeAnthropomorphism mecha musume]] that reference various mecha anime, some more obliquely than others.
* RoyaltySuperpower: As a direct blood member of the Salusian royal family, Asrial has incredible SuperStrength, as this level of kinship comes with the highest possible amount of superpowered genes.
* SentIntoHiding: [[spoiler:She is forced to send her twin children away for their own safety after Lorna threatens them. She gives her daughter Kassy into the safekeeping of her half-brother Kalen, before he in turn gives her over to fellow SpacePirate Lisa. Her son Lexus is given into the safekeeping of the Ja Kell family, with Solora being brought up believing he is actually her little brother to add to the deception.]]
* SpacePirate: [[spoiler:Spends three years hiding from Lorna by pretending to be the "Space PirateQueen Lisa Ta'veren, wearing an eyepatch and changing her hair & eye colors to disguise herself.]]
* SuperStrength: She can effortlessly bend iron girders or uproot huge trees with her bare hands.
* TeenPregnancy: [[spoiler:She and Jeremy have sex during a trip to Salusia they undertake just before Jeremy's 17th birthday, during the "We're Off to Outer Space" four-parter storyline. Her discovery of this pregnancy, and subsequent return to Salusia, is revealed in the Volume 2 issue "The Long Good-Bye".]]
* WrenchWench: As a Salusian, she's a mechanical and engineering genius, to the point that she can take a rundown, clapped-out junker of an Earth car and turn it into a fully functional hovercar.

[[folder: Volume 2 Protagonists]]
!!Ricky Feeple
Jeremy's younger brother who, unlike his big brother, has always dreamed of being a superhero and has been training to fight all his life as a result. After the four year timeskip after his brother's 17th birthday, he finds himself inadvertently falling into a similarly chaotic life as his brother had "enjoyed" four years previously.
----
* {{Animorphism}}: An encounter with the warlocks Leonard and Gregory and exposure to Neptonite mixed with magic turns Ricky temporarily into a humanoid tiger.
* BadassNormal: Thanks to his ninja training, after the time skip between volumes 1 and 2, Ricky is such a skilled ninja warrior that Yumei Katana finds him both impressive and scary. For example, he defeats her effortlessly whilst being drugged up with enough sleeping potion to put a sumo wrestler out cold.
* BareHandedBladeBlock: Pulls this off against Yumei's sword.
* ContrastingSequelMainCharacter: Becomes this in the Volume 2 stories. Whereas Jeremy was a MartialPacifist who ''could'' fight, but would much rather talk or scheme his way out of trouble, Ricky is a masterful fighter who can even handle the likes of Yumei with ease. The issue "VR Bloopers" even reveals that he actually joined a team of junior superhero would-bes called "The Others" under the tutelage of Arnie.
* McNinja: American by blood and grew up in America, but still a skilled ninja. He learned it from his mom, who was adopted by a ninja master.
* MyGreatestFailure: As revealed in the issue "Manipest Destiny", when trying out to become a fully fledged superhero as part of the sidekick team "The Others", he was told by Arnie that he had failed his final test. Heartbroken, he accused Arnie of betraying him for Tomorrow Lad and then ran away, only to learn from Tomorrow Man shortly thereafter that Arnie telling him he had failed was the ''actual'' final test; a test of humility, to remind a would-be hero that they must do heroics for the sake of others and not selfishness. But when Ricky returned to apologize to Arnie, he found that Arnie had been kidnapped by the Iron Lady, and he never saw his mentor and friend again. He's regretted his behavior ever since.
* NakedFirstImpression: He first meets Solora by accidentally walking in on her in the shower whilst only clad in his underwear.
* OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent: Subverted. When we are first introduced to Ricky Feeple, he's a grade-schooler and actively studying ninjitsu under his mother. We learn in issue #9 that he's also been learning combat skills from Arnie as well.
* SecretKeeper: At the start of the series, he knew that Ichikun was after Jeremy's hand in marriage, but was forbidden from telling him.
* SecretSecretKeeper: [[spoiler:He reveals in the volume 2 issue "On the Path to Demolition" that he's ''always'' known about his girlfriend Heidi being Tomorrow Girl, he's just been waiting for her to build up the trust/confidence to confess to him.]]
* TrappedInAnotherWorld: [[spoiler:Ends up trapped in another dimension as a side-effect of defeating the insane EvilTwin of Jeremy in the volume 2 issue "All Good Things".]]
* WouldHitAGirl: He has no problems with violently defending himself from Yumei's attacks.

!!Yumei Katana
A skilled ninja despite only being in High School, half-brother to Lendo and Tetsuo Rivalsan on her mother's side.
----
* {{Animorphism}}: An encounter with the warlocks Leonard and Gregory and exposure to Neptonite mixed with magic turns Yumei temporarily into a humanoid {{tanuki}} (or possibly a brown fox).
* BestHerToBedHer: Invoked; her half-brother Tetsuo manipulates her into accepting a challenge where she would duel with Ricky Feeple -- if she wins, then she gets Tetsuo's two shares of ownership in the Rivalsan Ninja Corporation, which will give her mother's clan control over the MegaCorp. If she loses, however, she has to marry Ricky.
* HairTriggerTemper: It's part of what makes her a {{Tsundere}}; she has a tendency to fly off the handle and start yelling and at least threatening violence at the slightest provocation.
* ParentalAbandonment: Her mother abandoned her after she was defeated in battle by "The Red Ninja".
* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: Despite being a proud ninja, she loves collecting a line of stuffed toys called "Weenie Babies".

!!Solora Ja Kell
An arrogant and obnoxious Salusian noble heiress banished to Earth in hopes of teaching her better manners.
----
* ArmorPiercingSlap: Thanks to her Salusian SuperStrength, and a bit of feminine indignation, she can actually slap Ricky around when he does things like walk in on her naked.
* AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever: An encounter with the warlocks Leonard and Gregory and exposure to Neptonite mixed with magic causes Solora to grow into a 50ft tall version of herself. As it causes her to grow out of her clothes, leaving her a giant ''naked'' version of herself, she's rather ticked off about it.
* ContrastingSequelMainCharacter: Whilst Asrial has her faults, mostly a bit of a temper and a flirtatious attitude, she is largely a polite, well-mannered, diplomatic, friendly person who takes a great deal of pleasure in learning about other races and dislikes leaning on her family background. In contrast, Solora is shamelessly arrogant, throws her money and social status around like a club to achieve what she wants, is openly dismissive of humanity, and is generally a JerkAss. The contrast is even lampshaded in the final panels of the volume 2 issue "The Long Goodbye", where once Anna Feeple declares of Asrial that she has never met a more "noble, honorable, gentle, intelligent and graceful being"... Solora wanders into view wearing a skimpy top that's almost falling off, scratching herself openly and belching loudly.
** Another contrast; whereas Asrial was the crown princess by blood of the Salusian Imperial Conglomerate, Solora is ''noveau riche'' -- she's a colonial-born daughter to a wealthy diplomat who bought his way into the ranks of the nobility.
** Asrial was explicitly sent to Earth to marry Jeremy Feeple as part of her diplomatic mission, although that aspect was later called off. Solora was never assigned to wed Ricky and doesn't express any attraction to him. [[spoiler:Openly, at least; she does come to develop something of a crush on him.]]
* DefrostingIceQueen: Whilst initially stand-offish, snobby and an all-around JerkAss, over the course of volume 2, her ongoing interactions and adventures Ricky and the others cause her to grow and mature. [[spoiler:Ironically, having hated Earth when she was stranded there, when her family tells her that she can finally come home, she's actually reluctant to leave because she'll miss her friends.]]
* NakedFirstImpression: The first time she meets Ricky Feeple, she's wearing nothing but a towel around her waist and he's only wearing his underwear.
* RoyalBrat: She is introduced as a very standard "bratty noble's daughter" archetype.
* SpoiledBrat: When introduced, she is literally screaming at a servant and throwing her dinner at the wall because it didn't include an ingredient she asked for... an ingredient it's actually now illegal to serve. She's all too willing to throw her money and social rank around to get what she wants, and even her father fears he has spoiled her too badly. This is what gets her exiled to Earth under the pretext of a "diplomatic mission"; her family is desperately hoping that staying under the Feeple roof will imbue her with some of the manners and grace that Asrial has shown since ascending to the throne.
* SuperToughness: She takes a full-on punch from the super-strong Sailor Puff Girls, which slams her into a building that then falls down on top of her, and she comes out of it more annoyed than hurt.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Unlike Asrial, who had blonde hair, Solora has blue hair in both her natural and humanified forms.

!!Heidi Yfory, aka Tomorrow Lass
An average seeming student at Quagmire High, and Ricky's girlfriend prior to Yumei and Solora showing up, Heidi is actually part of a family of super-powered {{Human Alien}}s living on Earth in disguise. In her costumed identity of Tomorrow Lass, she fights super-criminals.
----
* BlowYouAway: By inhaling a massive amount of air (giving herself a literal BalloonBelly in the process), she can unleash a [[BreathWeapon super-concentrated exhalation that can demolish buildings]].
* ClarkKenting: She literally wears glasses in her civilian identity to try and obfuscate her status as Tomorrow Lass.
* DePower: Exposure to magic-charged Neptonite strips her of her superpowers for a good chunk of volume 2.
* {{Expy}}: She's basically ComicBook/SuperGirl.
* EyeBeams: One of her superpowers is that she can fire heat rays out of her eyes.
* FlyingBrick and FlyingFirePower: She has {{flight}}, SuperStrength, SuperToughness, SuperSpeed and EyeBeams as her powerset.
* {{Irony}}: Despite being a superhero, really loving the superhero life when she was younger, and being girlfriend to Ricky Feeple, who can kick as much ass as she can without the explicit superpowers, she's introduced considering quitting the superhero business so she can focus more on being Ricky's girlfriend. Then she gets {{depower}}ed by exposure to magic-charged Neptonite and she finds herself missing her role as Tomorrow Girl. Her uncle replacing her with the defecting R.N.C synthoid "Sailor Puff Green" doesn't help.
* LetsYouAndHimFight: Her first meeting with Solara swiftly devolves into a duel, as she mistakes Solara for attempting to kidnap Ricky and Solara has little interest in explaining that she was actually interrupted rescuing the unconscious Ricky from Sventerminator.

!!Henrietta Porter
A young blonde witch who is Mimi's niece, she becomes her aunt's apprentice in volume 2.
----
* BigEater: Because she has the unique ability to CastFromCalories, she is constantly snacking.
* CastFromCalories: Her magical affinity of "soul magic" means she requires calories as fuel for her spellcasting.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: Whilst she is an arrogant little snot, she doesn't really ''mean'' to insult people so much as she doesn't think about the implications of her words or actions. Like when she tells Professor Steamhead that "only a complete idiot would ever believe that steam could save the world!"
* MundaneUtility: Despite her aunt's chiding, she uses her magical abilities to do even the simplest tasks all the time.
* SweetTooth: She loves sweets above all other foods.

----
* AwfulWeddedLife: Zigzagged. [[spoiler:After marrying Ichikun during the 4 year time skip, he proves a very unsatisfying husband to her, being more focused on his business and profits than being a spouse. Things come to a head in the issue "Getting Axed", where he makes a HeroicSacrifice to rescue Ichikun from demonic mind control, apologizes to her for being a bad husband, and declares that he really has always loved her. * CasanovaWannabe: He's been very openly seeking Ichikun's hand in marriage since they were children, and Ichikun's mother actually approves of the idea. Unfortuantely, Lendo is arrogant, obnoxious, entitled, boastful and possessive, which alienates Ichikun for most of the series. He's not much better when trying to "woo" Sammi Kondo, either. [[spoiler:Even though Ichikun weds him after the timeskip, she admits to her little sister Hitomi that she was largely doing it to hurt Jeremy for falling in love and having sex with Asrial instead of her.]]
* DyingDeclarationOfLove: [[spoiler:Invoked in the volume 2 issue "Getting Axed". Subverted when it turns out he was hurt, but not actually dying.]]
* {{Expy}}: Lendo is very heavily based on Shuutaro Mendo from ''Manga/UruseiYatsura'', being a wealthy Japanese megacorp heir who carries a samurai sword and is caught up in a LoveTriangle with the main male protagonist.
* FirstLove: Surprisingly, he and Ichikun actually get married during the four year timeskip. [[spoiler:Although it takes a lot longer than that before they end up HappilyMarried.]]
* LoveDodecahedron: He starts out in a LoveTriangle with Jeremy Feeple over Ichikun Ichinohei. Then he spends some time lusting after Sammi instead, whilst still bearing a torch for Ichikun. [[spoiler:Then, in volume 2, despite having married Ichikun, he reveals he's actually in love with Sammi and has been pining for her from afar for the last four years... and then several issues later, he makes a big dramatic speech to Ichikun apologizing for being a bad husband and professing his eternal love.]]
* ILoveYouBecauseICantControlYou: Lendo's attraction to Sammi Kondo is largely rooted in Sammi's absolute indifference to Lendo's wealth and power, which causes her to treat him as just any other guy she knows -- a rare experience for Lendo.
* MistakenForGay: Sandy sees Lendo trying to embrace and kiss Sammi, who she believes is a boy, and wonders if either or both of them are gay.

!!Rivalsan Tetsuo
Lendo's little brother, who quickly becomes Ricky's sworn enemy.
----
* {{Animorphism}}: An encounter with the warlocks Leonard and Gregory and exposure to Neptonite mixed with magic turns Tetsuo into a humanoid rat.
* CantCatchUp: Unfortunately for Tetsuo, Ricky is a far better ninja warrior than he is.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: He was a witness to Ricky's failure to pass Arnie's final superhero exam and the disappearance of Arnie. Despite having a perfect opportunity to attack Ricky as he grieved for his seemingly dead mentor, he chose not to, as he felt it was wrong.
* TheRival: He loathes Ricky, blaming the Feeples for his brother's own misery, and is constantly arguing or trying to pick fights with them.
* SuperStrongChild: He can slice through a massive tree with one swipe of his trusty katana, despite being only in grade school.

!!Leeanna
A mysterious transfer student that shows up at Gundam High School during Jeremy Feeple's trip to Japan. She's actually a princess of the Zardon Empire, and an old enemy of Asrial.
----
* CatchPhrase: "You are no match for a Zardon of imperial birth!" It matches her rival Asrial's tendency to boast about her being an Imperial Salusian.
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: Issue #38 reveals that she and Asrial were childhood friends, and she's been in love with her Salusian counterpart since they were kids.
* DepravedBisexual: She's a villainous character who is ultimately established in the issue "Countdown to Armageddon" to be sexually attracted to both Jermy and Asrial.
* FaceDeathWithDignity: [[spoiler:Meets her execution in the issue "The Politics of War" with gravitas and dignity, refusing to be scared and encouraging Asrial, Jeremy and Ichikun to accept her end with the same grace.]]
* FacialMarkings: A tiny upside-down triangle on her forehead signals her true nature as a Zardon.
* GroinAttack: She literally threatens to rip Jeremy's balls off in chapter 13 in an attempt to force him to [[ItMakesSenseInContext kiss her forehead]].
* HandBlast: She can fire energy blasts from her clenched fists.
* HumanAliens: Leeanna looks like a human girl with pointed ears and FacialMarkings.
* ILoveYouBecauseICantControlYou: She admits during her appearance in the "Prom Formula" special side-story that Jeremy's refusal of her advances during their first meeting in Japan has increased her desire for him.
* TheRival: To Asrial, as the Zardons and Salusians are rival spacefaring powers. Also to Hitomi during Hitomi's time when she was trying to seduce Jeremy.
* LastKiss: When Asrial refuses her "final offer" to spare herself torture and excution by wedding Leeanna, the Zardonian princess gives Asrial a final kiss before telling the royal inquisitor to resume his torments. [[spoiler:She then gives Asrial another kiss as she lays dying after being executed by the Zardon traitors.]]
* TheVamp: She does ''not'' mess around when trying to seduce Jeremy, arranging for him to meet her in the gym storeroom in issue 12... where she's waiting for him in literally nothing but a set of lingerie, a smile, and a seductive pose. When Jeremy tries to escape at the start of the next issue, she literally pins him against a wall, shouts at him to shut up, and then all but throws him onto the bed whilst telling him to sit back and "take it like a man".
* WackyMarriageProposal: Played with at the start of issue 13. She demands that Jeremy kiss her forehead, declaring this will make them husband and wife... but it actually has to do with her having the power to brainwash him if he touches her "royal emblem".

!!Lorna
A Zardon Princess, and the younger sister of Leeanna, she comes to earth seeking the secret of resurrecting the dead.
----
* BackupTwin: [[spoiler:She claims in the issue ""Till Death Do Us Part" to actually be Leeanna, restored in a new clone body and having pretended to be Leeanna's sister to get the drop on her enemies.]]
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Her initial goal is to revive her dead elder sister.
* EvilerThanThou: Because of willingness to threaten Asrial's children, Asrial believes she is far more evil than her sister was.
* HandBlast: Like Leeanna, she can fire blasts of energy from her clenched fists.
* NonActionBigBad: Despite her antagonistic role and inheriting Leeanna's powers, she shuns fighting physically, preferring to use trickery and deception, or letting her loyal underling Cat Supreme do the fighting for her.
* NotSoAboveItAll: In the issue "Spaceships, Salusians and Swimsuits", she is momentarily distracted from her plans to kidnap Princess Kassy when she is seemingly presented with the opportunity to take part in a swimsuit contest. Then the judges inform her that, as a Zardon, everybody hates her and she can't enter, so she goes right back to her villainy.
* PsychoLesbian: Attempts to force Princess Asrial into marrying her in order to gain control over both the Zardon Empire and the Salusian Conglomerate.
* WorstWeddingEver: Zardon weddings involve a bloody swordfight between the spouses before the ceremony. [[spoiler:A BigBad for Volume 2 is a Jeremy from a timeline where Lorna ''killed'' Asrial during this duel, which drove him insane.]]
* WouldHurtAChild: She threatened to expose Asrial's twin children, which would cause great political instability due to their being illegitimate and half-human, in order to force Asrial into lifting trade restrictions on the Zardons. She later attempts to track down Asrial's twins and capture them herself.

[[folder: Family Members]]
!!Anna Ichinohei nee Feeple
Jeremy and Ricky's mother, and the ultimate cause behind Jeremy's ArrangedMarriage to Ichikun. When her parents were killed in UsefulNotes/WorldWarII, she was adopted by Kudasai Ichinohei and trained in the Ichinohei's school of ninjitsu, but she abandoned that life when she fell in love with an old friend of Kudasai's, the rat exterminator Bob Feeple, and moved to Quagmire with him.
----
* AlmightyMom: A variation: In issue 2, after reminding Ichikun about their being technically related, she asks Ichikun to promise her that she will be a good wife to Jeremy when she wins his heart. Ichikun, who had originally planned to divorce Jeremy as soon as she was officially in charge of the clan, squirms with guilt as Anna stares at her, before finally breaking down and promising she'll be a good wife.
* AsYouKnow: Explains to Ichikun about her being the adoptive daughter of Kudasai in their first interactions during the second issue.
* BerserkButton: After the 4 year time skip between volumes 1 and 2, she keeps Jeremy's room ''exactly'' how he left it. Her warning to Solora to '''never''' enter that room is enough to rattle even the spoiled Salusian's nerves.
* HappilyAdopted: She knows that Kudasai Ichinohei is her adoptive father, but she loves him greatly.
* McNinja: She's an American woman who is trained in the arts of the Ninja, because she was orphaned in UsefulNotes/WorldWarII and subsequently was raised by the ninja clan master Kudasai Ichinohei.
* SecretKeeper: Never told her son Jeremy about his ArrangedMarriage, and when she appears in the first issue, she tells her younger son Ricky about it, and then instructs him to keep it a secret from Jeremy.

!!Kudasai Ichinohei
The patriarch of the Ichinohei ninja clan, adoptive father of Anna Feeple and biological grandfather of Ichikun. Starts the whole series by sending Ichikun to Quagmire under orders to get married to Jeremy or else forfeit the position of heir.
----
* HappilyAdopted: Kudasai is the parental portion of this trope. Having taken Anna in out of sympathy when her mom was killed aiding the Ichinohei during UsefulNotes/WorldWarII, Kudasai came to love Anna like his own. In fact, he only agreed to let Bob Feeple marry her because they both swore to an ArrangedMarriage between their son and Kudasai's biological granddaughter, so as to cement Anna's position in the Ichinohei.
* SleepModeSize: Normally, Kudasai is a [[MiniatureSeniorCitizens little old man shorter than his granddaughter]]. When he feels inclined to fight, however, he bulks up into a towering mountain of muscle, complete with a HeroicBuild.

!!Kuma Rivalsan
Eldest son of Kenjo Rivalsan, the Rivalsan patriarch, Kuma has dedicated his life to serving Kudasai as a personal servant.
----
* {{Expy}}: He looks like M. Bison from ''Franchise/StreetFighter''.
* SinsOfOurFathers: Invoked. Kuma serves as Kudasai's personal servant because he feels that when his father abandoned his former partnership with Kudasai to found the Rivalsan Corporation, he has refused to pay a debt of honor that he owes Kudasai. Thus, Kuma believes he is obligated to fill that debt in Kenjo's place.

!!Hitomi Ichinohei
Ichikun's little sister and would-be rival for her position as heir to the Ichinohei clan.
----
* CovertPervert: She's one of a ''stampede'' of girls who flock to spy on the boys using the shower room during Jeremy's trip to Japan in issue 12.
* KillerYoYo: Uses a seemingly ordinary yoyo to kill a [[Franchise/{{Alien}} Xenomorph]] {{expy}}.
* TheResenter: When introduced, her goal is to seduce Jeremy Feeple whilst he's in Japan and Ichikun is over in America, as she resents her sister always being "the first at everything". She later admits to Fujiko that she actually resents Ichikun promising to always be her best friend and supporter, only to then [[ArrangedMarriage being arranged to marry Jeremy]], which she fears will take her away from her.
* WoundedGazelleGambit: Feigns being injured by Jeremy "stepping on her foot" (she actually stuck it out in front of him) in issue 12 as part of setting up a MeetCute and CryCute scenario to begin her seduction.

!!Yoshi and Hana Ichinohei
Ichikun and Hitomi's parents.
----
* BattleCouple: Played for laughs; they're both skilled ninja warriors, but they mostly express that fact by dueling each other when they disagree.
* DemonHead: Yoshi is capable of doing the "make your head giant to emphasize your anger/disapproval" trick, as seen during an early argument with his wife.
* LadykillerInLove: In his youth, Yoshi was a CasanovaWannabe, but since marrying his wife Hana, he seems to have settled down remarkable.
* MundaneUtility: Taken UpToEleven; Yoshi would rather use his ninja training for party tricks and gags than actually do anything serious with it. This is why his father Kudasai decides not to pass the leadership of the clan on to him.
* OverprotectiveDad: Zigzagged; Shoji subverts it, whilst Hana, the girls' ''mother'', who plays it straight, complete with warning Hitomi to stay away from Jeremy in issue 12.
* ViewerNameConfusion: When introduced in issue 12, Hitomi's father is referred to as "Shoji" by her mother. But in issue 15, Kudasai's diary states that his only son is named ''Yoshi''.

!!Kalen
Asrial's half-brother (same father, different mothers), who became a pirate and mercenary after being exiled from Salusia for his friendship with a Zardon.
----
* IControlMyMinionsThrough: Played for laughs, but Kalen's claim his men follow him for the sake of his wonderful cooking, combined with his displayed attitude, shows that he is well-respected for his kindness.
* ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight: When his father the emperor demanded that Kalen abandon his friendship with a Zardon free trader or risk exile from the royal family, he turned his back on his people without a second thought to stay true to his friend.
* SeriousBusiness: Sweets and pastries are the key to Kalen's heart. What convinces him to return to the Salusian Interstellar Conglomerate during the war is not the 50,000 credits, the plunder, or even the full pardon, but the promise of a recipe for Angorian Moon Pie.
* SpacePirate: He ran away from his life as a prince to become the captain of a space pirate ship.
* SupremeChef: Kalen is renowned as an excellent cook. He even half-jokingly claims that he keeps his men loyal through his skill at cooking.

!!Bob Feeple
Jeremy and Ricky's father, husband of Anna Ichinohei nee Feeple. A rat exterminator for many years, he vanished mysteriously when Jeremy was very young. He turns up in the 18th issue, where he reveals that he was accidentally transported to the world of Dimension X, a realm inhabited by RatMen which had crumbled into ruin and was under invasious by the murderous and barbaric roach hordes. Out of a sense of compassion, Bob became a general, forging an army from the ruins of rat civilization and leading them to victory against their roach enemies before helping them to rebuild their civilization. Unfortunately, his long years of exposure to the rat-killing poison "Pregneto Conoxide" means he cannot safely use the dimension-traveling technology to return to earth, as it would interact with the energy used and fatally destabilize his molecular structure.
----
* DisappearedDad: Spent many years lost in Dimension X, with his sons and wife having no idea where he'd gone.
* DaddyHadAGoodReasonForAbandoningYou: Even Jeremy admits that "trapped in another dimension, had to lead a war to save an entire race from extermination, and then found he was fatally incompatible with the dimension traveling tech" is a pretty valid excuse for being gone for so long.
* TheGoodKing: As ironic as it is, Bob is a very good ruler who is devoted to the welfare of his subjects. In return, they largely adore him, although there are some corrupt nobles who wish to usurp his place.
* PowerfulAndHelpless: Invoked by Bob himself, who points out that he is the absolute ruler of Dimension X, with literally everything he could possibly want ready to be taken, with an entire civilization that loves and adores him... but he can never have what he really wants, which is either to return to his home dimension or to bring his wife to him -- the technology is potentially deadly to older targets.
-->'''Bob:''' Now look at me, Jeremy! Here I am, the most powerful being alive in Dimension X! I could have '''anything''' I desire! But I would gladly give it '''all''' to return to you and your mother! Power is '''nothing''' if you have no one to share it with!
* RagsToRoyalty: Downplaying the "rags" part, he was fairly well off and respected as a rodent exterminator, but still, a former rat-catcher is the last person you'd expect to become the king of a world-spanning empire. Much less one composed of RatMen.

!!Mita Celande
A time-traveling descendant of Jeremy Feeple and Ichikun Ichinohei who first appeared in issue #6, having traveled back in time to watch her father in his youth. She temporarily takes up a job as a teacher in Quagmire High, but ultimately is forced to return to her proper place in the timestream.
----
* HyperspaceMallet: It's one of the first clues she's Ichikun's time-traveling daughter, as Ichikun was the only person to use such a weapon prior to her using it in issue #11. This unique trait was then lost as the HyperspaceMallet began appearing as a more regular gag in the series.
* {{Irony}}: [[spoiler:Professor Azland notes that her insistence on staying in the present, outside of her timeline, basically led to the temporal destabilization that nearly wiped her from existence.]]
* PutOnABus: [[spoiler:After Jeremy is nearly killed by a Zardonian during the invasion storyline and the forces of Hell try to claim his soul, it destabilizes the timeline, which combined with the presence of Mita results in the near-erasure of the continuity of Jeremy marrying Ichikun and fathering Mita. As a result, her teacher, Professor Azland, has to rescue her from the present and retreat with her to a safe time stream to prevent her being {{Ret Gone}}d or even suffering an in-universe RetCon.]]
* SadistTeacher: Played for laughs, but in issue #11, she considers it an appropriate way to scold Howard, Mike and Phrank by ''blowing them up with a bazooka''.
* SmallGirlBigGun: Pops out of nowhere wielding a huge bazooka in issue #11.

!!Miyoko "The Golden Shadow" Katana
A legendary ninja mercenary, mother of Yumei, Lendo and Tetsuo.
----
* GoldDigger: Her own daughter Yumei proclaims that her greatest loves were ninjitsu, power and money. She wed Rivalsan Kenjo and bore him two sons, Lendo and Tetsuo, strictly for his wealth. He recognized her greed and they became fierce competitors, with Miyoko seeking to usurp control of Rivalsan Ninja Corporation from him. He ultimately annulled the marriage by playing on her greed, manipulating her into taking on a fearsome foe known only as "The Red Ninja"; defeated, Miyoko vanished from society, abandoning her children.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Mad Scientists]]
!!Professor Johann Steamhead
A German MadScientist obsessed with [[SteamPunk the untapped potentials and mysteries of steam]], who defected and assisted the Allies during UsefulNotes/WorldWarII. Is introduced at the series' start as the Quagmire High science teacher, and becomes Asrial's host after she arrives in Quagmire.
----
* BeenThereShapedHistory: He met Jeremy's paternal grandfather when he first migrated to the USA, and Jeremy's father when he first took up residency as the science teacher at Quagmire High. He met Count Boscoe whilst working for the US government during the 2nd World War and empowered Terry with her cyber-body.
* BigGood: To the Zetramen, a {{Sentai}} team he created through exposing volunteers to the mutagenic steam fumes created by boiling the mysterious radioactive element Zetranite.
* CatchPhrase: "Steam will save the world!"
* HerrDoktor: Downplayed. Despite actually being a German who was alive during UsefulNotes/WorldWarII, he doesn't really fit any of the stereotypical elements, even lacking the iconic accent. Not least of all in that he's a German Jew (sort of) who fought for the ''Allies'' during the war.
* InformedJudaism: Although issue #24 of the comic reveals his backstory as a German who fled in the early 1930s because he was ostracized for his Jewish ancestry by the newly empowered Nazis, he never performs any "obviously Jewish" acts in the series. It's justified in that Steamhead is clearly more interested in science than religion, and didn't even think of himself as Jewish; he simply fell afoul of the Nazi "blood purity" laws, having a Jewish maternal great-grandmother.
* MadScience: He's a brilliant scientist, but absolutely obsessed with steam, even trading his assistance to Asrial in her initial duel against Ichikun for ownership of a SingleBiomePlanet comprised entirely of boiling oceans. He's also extremely disparaging of anyone who refuses to accept the legitimacy of his "steamology", particularly if they believe in rival power sources like solar power. Despite being crazy, he's very much a heroic character.
* MiniatureSeniorCitizens: He's barely waist-high on an average teenage girl like Asrial.
* {{Nephewism}}: His neice Joanna, daughter of his long-lost sister, shows up to live with him during the 4-year timeskip.
* {{Steampunk}}: As a MadScientist obsessed with steam, naturally he builds elaborate and impossible devices based around steam. Including a steaming process that gives you superpowers.

!!Professor Hossenfeffer
An old rival of Professor Steamhead's who works for Rivalsan Lendo as his personal MadScientist.
----
* AccentSlipUp: Normally, Hossenfeffer speaks normally, like everyone around him, but when he's stressed, he slips into the stereotypical HerrDoktor "German" accent.
* EvilOldFolks: He's a former Nazi and still one of the most amoral individuals in Quagmire. If that's not evil enough, issue #27 reveals a BadFuture created when Hossenfeffer secretly plundered Rivalsan resources under Lendo's nose and then used them to start his own megacorp, which sold out Earth to the Zardon Empire.
Instead, it gives him a SuperpoweredEvilSide that persists for the rest of the series.
* HerrDoktor: Downplayed. Like Professor Steamhead, he's a German MadScientist who has been around since UsefulNotes/WorldWarII, but he doesn't look stereotypically German or use the accent, at least unless he's particular annoyed. He ''is'' a former Nazi scientist, however.
* MadScientist: At least as capable and as crazy as his rival.
* MadScientistsBeautifulDaughter: Granddaughter, actually; the tall, blond and sultry sexpot Brunhilda, who also works as one of Rivalsan Lendo's goons, is established in the 3rd issue as Hossenfeffer's granddaughter.
* MiniatureSeniorCitizens: He's just as short as his rival.
* SolarPunk: Whereas Professor Steamhead is obsessed with the untapped scientific potential of steam, Professor Hossenfeffer is fixated on solar energy.

!!Professor Beanhead
An old colleague of Professor Steamhead's, Professor Beanhead is a MadScientist who is obsessed with "beanology", the use of irradiated beans. He is the science teacher at Gundam High School in Japan, the home school of Ichikun and Hitomi Ichinohei.
----
* FriendlyRivalry: Unlike with Professor Hossenfeffer, Steamhead and Beanhead get on spectacularly well and are clearly close friends, even if they do argue over whether steamology or beanology is superior.
* MadScientist: He's the founder of "beanology", which attempts to make useful technology by using irradiated beans as a base.
* MiniatureSeniorCitizens: He's as short as Steamhead and Hossenfeffer.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Side Characters]]
!!Arnie
A teacher at Quagmire Hire who looks like he could have stepped out of an 80s ActionHero movie you care to name. He's effectively been Jeremy and Ricky's surrogate father since their biological dad vanished.
----
* TheAhnold: Looks and acts like a comedic parody of your typical big-muscled gun-toting brainless action flick.

* GiantRobot: As the Zetramen, they have acces to a giant battle robot they can use for superheroing.

----
* TheAhnold: He's a gruff, no-nonsense, gun-toting mercenary who looks like a combination of Kenshiro and Arnold Schwarrzennegar in his role as the T-800 Terminator.

----
* ActionGirl: She's a skilled and deadly efficient martial artist.
* {{Expy}}: She's basically Ryuunosuke Fujinawa from ''Manga/UruseiYatsura'', albeit with a living mom, a decent uncle, and a slightly less crazy/abusive dad.
** During the Great Contest arc, [[spoiler:she disguises herself as "Ramen Rider", a ramen-based parody of ''Franchise/KamenRider''.]]
* {{Irony}}: [[spoiler: She finally learns in the volume 2 issue "Walk like a man! Talk like a man!" that her uncle ''knew she was a girl the whole time''; he and her dad had a bet on about how long she would pretend to be a girl.

* CrashIntoHello: Invoked in chapter 12; she ''deliberately'' trips at their first face-to-face eeting in hopes of getting a hug and perhaps a kiss out of Jeremy when she stumbles into him.

* SillyReasonForAWar: Zigzagged.
* VegetarianVampire: He doesn't drink blood, but instead uses a special formula in pill form to transform glasses of water into a nourishing blood substitute.

!!May
A female cyborg from a BadFuture created by Professor Hossenfeffer conquering the world, allying with the Zardons, and then transforming Earth into a polluted cityscape, forcing humanity to upgrade themselves into robots to survive. She was sent back in time by her creators to help ensure their future came to be, only to learn she had been tricked, leaving her stranded in the past. She ultimately became a time-traveling assistant to Profesor Azland.
----
* HollywoodCyborg: She's a [[Franchise/{{Terminator}} T-800 style]] cyborg; a seemingly human synethetic skin wrapped around a FemBot body.

!!Sventerminator
A replacement for Kenterminator created to be Rivalsan Tetsuo's personal underling. Looks like a hulking warrior out of a post-apocalyptic manga, but is actually a robot built from chocolate.
----
* BlobMonster: Being made of chocolate, he can shift the makeup of his body from solid to liquid and back as he sees fit.
* {{Expy}}: Just like how Kenterminator is based on the T-800 from ''Franchise/{{Terminator}}, Sventerminator's amorphous semi-liquid body is based on the T-1000.
