* DeadpanSnarker: Julia has a sarcastic and biting way of talking, even when referring to her superiors.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: When Rey is discussing his disagreements with the way Anarchs manage things, Julia muses that it doesn't sound too bad to her. [[spoiler:In one of the endings of ''Shadows of New York'', Julia flees the city for the Anarch Free States.]]
* SmokingIsCool: Julia constantly has a cigarette with her; she even teaches Rey that he can use the Blush of Life to enjoy cigarettes again.

** In his interaction with Simone, he confirms that he struggles a lot with self image, while she reassures him that the opinions of kine are beneath him

* ArmoredClosetGay: Downplayed in that while he isn't outwardly homophobic, but Brawn definitely struggles with his orientation, and no doubt plays up his rugged, horrific exterior as a means to wall himself off from unwanted feelings. This insecurity in his masculinity is best shown [[spoiler:in his trip to Club Crimson in Episode 6, where after embracing a male patron and being startled at just how comfortable it made him, Brawn snaps out of his reverie and demands his paramour to act scared instead of blissful]]

BewareTheSillyOnes: Glassjaw is consistently lighthearted and jovial, never taking things too seriously and always cracking jokes in every scene he's featured in. [[spoiler:However, when Brawn presses him for information on Amadeus' disappearance, Glassjaw flat-out admits he killed the Toreador in cold blood, his tone not shifting whatsoever]]
BokeAndTsukkomiRoutine: Plays the goofy BunnyEarsLawyer to Brawn's (relatively) more serious businessman approach in their illegal dealings.
FacialHorror: As a Nosferatu, Natch. In [[MeaningfulName Glassjaw's]] case, his lower jaw is horrifically distended to the lower part of his chest. Brawn even wonders how he's able to feed with it.

BokeandTsukkomiRoutine: Plays the goofy BunnyEarsLawyer to Brawn's (relatively) more serious businessman approach in their illegal dealings.
