* EvilIsSexy: InUniverse, Chanda thinks he was pretty good-looking as a young man, when she finds a portrait of him when he was in his twenties or thirties.
-->'''Chanda:''' For goodness' sake, don't tell anyone I called a mass murderer handsome--they'll come for me with torches and pitchforks.

* PatriotInExile: Ezra Squall loves the titular city more than anything, considering it to be the greatest place in the world, and the ''only'' place that's worthy of him. He's also [[BannedFromArgo exiled for life]] because of the Courage Square Massacre, and most of his {{Evil Plan}}s are related to him trying to find a way around the ban so he can take over.

* InnocentlyInsensitive: Due to not growing up in Nevermoor, Morrigan sometimes misunderstands or says something ignorant about the politics there, especially where Wunimals are concerned, but it's never out of malice and she always tries to do better after being corrected. In the second book, it's mentioned that she accidentally seriously offended a bearwun by calling him a bear. By the third, she's always the first to correct someone who does the same.

In the second book, it's mentioned that she accidentally seriously offended a bearwun by calling him a bear. By bear.\\
In
the third, third book, she's always the first to correct someone who does the same.\\
By the end of the third book, the pendulum has swung back the other way just a little bit - Morrigan won't allow Anah to say her workplace "smells like a zoo". [[spoiler: Anah's workplace does smell like a zoo, and she is doing a fantastic job under difficult circumstances.]]

* AbsenteeClubMember: Both {{Exaggerated|trope}} and PlayedForLaughs in the second book, which mentions Wunsoc has several social and academic clubs, including Introverts Utterly Anonymous. It promises its members no meetings, of any kind, ever. [[SociallyAwkwardHero Morrigan]] immediately thinks this is a club she could actually join.

* NiceToTheWaiter: In stark contrast to her father and stepmother, Morrigan is always polite to employees she meets. The staff at the Hotel Deucalion are [[HiredHelpAsFamily essentially family]] to her, and she's often seen casually hanging out with them when they're off (or on) the clock.

* BenevolentBoss: He's a ''wonderful'' employer, treating his staff as friends and being genuinely good to all of them. As a result, anyone at the Deucalion would follow him to Hell and back.

* VillainsNeverLie: A variant. He lies like ''crazy'', and he admits as much to Morrigan... but he insists he has never lied ''to her''.
