Her only redeeming characteristic is her love for her son, but even that drives her to do terrible things to Raphael, his mother, and even the dark magic user she employed. Also, as the fourth volume reveals, she was involved in despicable experiments utilizing dark magic, most of which [[WouldHurtAChild involved children]], showing that Raphael wasn't the only one who was victimized by her and her conspirators.
* IHaveYourWife: She claimed that she was holding the dark magic user's family hostage to force him to perform the ritual for her. In reality, she had them killed off as [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness she had no intention of letting him return to them]].
* KarmaHoudiniWarranty: She gets away with conducting a dark magic ritual and having the man responsible murdered for years, but all this ends when Raphael informs the authorities about her crimes.

In a series where the intended HateSink was simply a bully who tried to murder ''one'' innocent teenager in a fit of rage, Marchioness Dieke premeditated the murder of her husband's ex-lover, a dark mage's entire family along with the dark mage himself, attempted to have the body belonging to the child of her husband's mistress possessed by her own child, and accidentally caused that child to be possessed by the murderous spirit of the wizard. Raphael and the dark mage were relatively tragic victims compared to her, and no doubt that the only reason she didn't steal the HateSink crown from the original Catarina is because of her relatively minor role.
