* ArcVillain: Hood is the main antagonist of the Pro Hero arc, as he's sent to fight Endeavor by Dabi in a field test of the High-Ends. Dabi himself doesn't get too involved, and leaves before he can start fighting.

* TheDragon: For Dabi in the Pro Hero arc. Its entire brawl with Endeavor was just a field test conducted by Dabi.

* TheFaceless: His face is hidden, with only his eyes (and sometimes [[SlasherSmile teeth]] visible). [[spoiler: Even the reveal of what he looks like under his hood counts as this since his ''entire head'' is an exposed brain with eyes and a massive fanged mouth that takes up the rest of the head's space.]]

* HealingFactor: He possesses the "Super Regeneration" Quirk, like the U.S.J. Nomu. [[spoiler:He's even able to survive after tearing off its own neck and head to dodge Endeavor's fire blast.]]
* HistoryRepeats: Hood's attack is rather similar to that of the U.S.J. Nomu. Both put a scar on a pro hero's face; with the U.S.J. Nomu bashing Aizawa's head into the ground enough to scar his cheek, and Hood [[spoiler:nearly taking Endeavor's eye]]. Both fight the Number One hero and come close to killing him; the U.S.J Nomu when it traps All Might in Kurogiri's [[PortalCut portal]], and Hood when [[spoiler:he deals Endeavor a severe enough blow to leave him immobile and assumes him to be out of the fight]]. And both are firsts for Nomu; with the U.S.J. Nomu being the first Nomu, period, and Hood being the first High-End Nomu. Both are also accompanied by handlers with a fairly similar aesthetic, Shigaraki and Dabi, respectively.

* LifeOrLimbDecision: [[spoiler:Tears his own neck and head off to avoid being incinerated by Endeavor's fire blast, trusting his "Super Regeneration" Quirk to restore his body before Endeavor can recover. It works, but Endeavor doesn't give him a chance to do it again by making sure he's holding Hood by the head as he unleashes another blast]].

* NoNameGiven: "High-End", what he's referred to throughout the Pro Hero Arc, is a moniker for his ''kin'' overall, not a distinctive label for him as an individual. It's just an indicator of [[EliteMook what he is to other Nomus.]] It's later revealed that his name is "Hood".

* WhamLine: His very first line, quoted below. The line is quite simple in and of itself, but the simple fact he can speak is shocking, since it shows that Hood is much more intelligent than any Nomu seen before.

* MakingASplash: Her "Liquification" Quirk allows her to partially transform into a liquid, which she uses to rapidly reposition herself and avoid attacks.

* TheHeavy: While Kurogiri and Shigaraki are by no means weak and ''do'' get involved, Nomu is easily the biggest threat in the USJ arc. However, due to his nature as the UpToEleven DumbMuscle, he's basically a mindless, living [=WDE=] for Shigaraki to bark orders at.

* ArcVillain: Of the Pro Hero arc, [[spoiler: with Dabi as the ManBehindTheMan]].

* AwesomeButImpractical: Retroactively he was deemed this. While he has the strength and Quirks to match All Might, he won't do anything without a direct order meaning he can't be sent on his own like the later Nomus. Kyudai later states that too much modification to the body will take its toll on the brain, which likely why the USJ Nomu can't act on his own and why no Nomu after him has the same level of physical strength or speed.

* WomenAreWiser: Downplayed. The male High-End Nomu aren't depicted as being stupid, but Woman is shown to be more strategic than they are.

* FatBastard: Befitting his name, Cubby is fatter than most Nomu, but just as violent and bloodthirsty.

* NonstandardCharacterDesign: Unlike every other prior Nomu, he doesn't have a visible brain.

* SmallRoleBigImpact: It has very little screen time, barely totaling a minute. But because Yaoyorozu's tracking device was merged onto it, it is an essential aspect of the the next arc. Also, in the minute it was active, it was easily the ''most'' dangerous foe out of all the villains attacking the training grounds and would have no doubt struck down Yaomomo and Awase had a withdraw order not been signaled once the League captured Bakugo. It was also the one who beat down Ragdoll, allowing All For One to take her Quirk.

* EarlyBirdCameo: Woman, Robot, and Chubby can be spotted in their test tubes in chapter 221, though they aren't activated until chapter 261, a full forty chapters later.

* WolfPackBoss: Woman, Ribs, Robot, and Elephant all fight together against Mirko. Chubby, meanwhile, attacks Crust and blocks other heroes from interfering with the fight.

* SuperPrototype: Played with. Hood was, if not the first, one of the earliest forays into creating thinking Noumu. Years prior to the main series, and thus years prior to the standard unthinking Noumu, he was already seeing use as a pawn for All For One after undergoing enough modifications to render him less than human while still allowing him to maintain most of his original mind. He was, however, still a prototype, and encountered such issues as a poor meshing of his new Quirk and his traditional fighting style, as well as a rapid drop-off in strength and healing once combat began.

* SpiritedCompetitor: He's fixated on finding a strong opponent. He unleashes its weaker Nomu brethren specifically to keep Hawks and other heroes from interfering with his one-on-one battle with Endeavor.

** Next, there Middle Tier Nomu, like the Chainsaw Nomu, who are slightly stronger than Lower tier ones. They possess stronger Quirks and have more unique skin coloration.

A trio of Nomu that Shigaraki sent to attack Hosu to show up Stain. They're comprised of a Lower Tier Nomu with white skin and four eyes, an Upper Tier Nomu with black skin and no facial features save a lower jaw, and a Lower Tier Nomu with a mask integrated into its face and a large set of wings.

A group of Nomus kept in The Doctor's lab, hidden under Jaku Hospital. He releases them all at once in response to being raided by heroes. Most are Lower or Middle Tier, with a few Upper Tier mixed in.

* FluffyTheTerrible: Daruma Ujiko calls him Hood-chan, despite being a deranged monster that caused mass destruction. Note the -chan honorific, which is used for things the speaker finds endearing, like babies or cute animals.

A quintet of Nomu kept in The Doctor's lab under Jaku Hospital that he is forced to activate in order to push back against the raiding heroes, namely Mirko

* HorseOfADifferentColor: Shigaraki uses the winged one as his personal mount when he [[spoiler:attacks Tartarus]].

A group of imperfect High-End Nomus that Shigaraki avoided decaying and activated with his "Radio Waves" Quirk. According to the Doctor, they haven't even entered the testing phase, so they can't think for themselves like other High-Ends, though they're just as strong and completely obedient to Shigaraki's will

* ArcVillain: Of the Pro Hero arc.

* UncertainDoom: It can be seen in Mount Lady's hand during the after the Pro Heroes find the Nomu Factory. [[spoiler: And it's still in her hand when All For One blows the Pros away. While it is known the pros all survived, we never see the Nomu's fate.]]

* SuperStrength: Eraserhead says Nomu's strength is incredible, even while he is trying to use his Quirk on Nomu at maximum.

* AwesomenessByAnalysis: Becomes this as she starts to stabilize. When the other heroes interrupt her battle with Mirko, she quickly takes note of the other heroes' Quirks and quickly deduces that Eraserhead must be the one that neutralized her own Quirk since he's the only one who hasn't displayed an obvious power. She then, just quickly, figures out that his Quirk must be sight-based since he's hiding his eyes and never came in contact with her. Using this information, she immediately gets out of sight to launch a wide range attack from a distance.
