* BadBoss: Orders his men to fire at an immobilized A-Laws ship that is blocking his fleet from firing at Katharon, completely unconcerned with how many of his old soldiers would be killed.
* ColonelKilgore: If he can cause terrorist acts, he will.

* DirtyCoward: He's confident so long as he has an overwhelming tactical advantage. Once things turn against him, his cowardly nature shows itself. [[spoiler:His last act is futilely trying to run away when Setsuna blows up his bridge.]]

* {{Expy}}: A brutal second-in-command, tasked with hunting down the government's enemies, who goes way too far in doing so? He's Bask Om to Homer's Jamitov Hymem.

* HateSink: He embodies the A-Laws arrogance and [[{{Jerkass}} jerkassery]] without the competency, style, or sympathetic backstory of its individual members to get in the way of rooting for his demise.

* RedEyesTakeWarning: Red eyes and not a good person in the slightest.

* TheStrategist: Kati even states that he is reasonably skilled, but as his methods are usually practical and conventional, he can be quite predictable. This makes him easily picked apart by Sumeragi and outperformed by Kati, both of whom are far more bold and unorthodox tacticians.

An A-Laws MS commander. He pilots an Ahead. Initially looking down on Louise Halevy, [[AFatherToHisMen he often shows a great concern]] for her due to her young age and questionable heatlh, often chastising her for her reckless behavior on the battlefield.

* AFatherToHisMen: His cares for his underlings and tries to something of a father figure to Louise.

* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler:Is amongst the first major A-Laws member to be killed.]]
* LargeAndInCharge: A very tall man and is Louise’s commander.
* SacrificialLion: [[spoiler:Dies at the end of episode 13, but he proves to have been a big character.]]
* SmallRoleBigImpact: While Louise already hated Gundam because of Nena's action, his death ultimately made her desire of revenge slowly blind her moral and affected toward her health become worsen.

* TokenGoodTeammate: Heavily downplayed. While he do care with his underling and quietly reasonable person, he still follow A-Laws ideology.

* HateSink: Before his redemption and his HeroicSacrifice moment in the Movie, he is nothing but a delusional JerkAss. In Season 2, he receives this thanks to his convincing Louise to kill Saji and killing his own father due to his own misunderstanding.

* UngratefulBastard: [[spoiler:He killed ''his father'' and the man ''who helped him in joining the military'']] ''for cryin' out loud''! And when [[spoiler:his adoptive sister hunts him down to pay for it, he is spared because one of her comrades stopped her. In the end of the episode, he plans on ''killing that guy too!'']]
