* OddFriendship: Irony enough he has become this with Shu. By the time COTE roll in. Masaki has completely put a trust on Shu and view him as allies. (Though if things goes wrong he has no problem blaming it on Shu first however.)

* SeriesMascot: One of the major contenders for the title of "most iconic original" created by Banpresto, largely by dint of his meta-series age (he's literally been there since [=SRW=] bothered to include pilots) and the sheer number of appearances. Masaki has appeared in eighteen separate titles - a good number more than runner-ups Lune and Shu, with quite a few more than many other characters whose franchises have sold millions of copies[[note]]If WildMassGuessing regarding Asakim's origins prove to be true, this number could go even ''higher''.[[/note]] What prevents him from definitively taking the title is the majority of his appearances are cameos - while originals like [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsAlpha Kusuha Mizuha]] and [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsAlphaGaiden Sanger Zonvolt]] have fewer games under their belt, both are central to their respective titles, thus have more presence in the zeitgeist.

* MyDeathIsJustTheBeginning: Subverted; Shu intends his death to be a FinalDeath, but his resurrection certainly works to his favor.
