* AdaptationalVillainy: In the manga, he undergoes a HazyFeelTurn at best but still ended up [[spoiler: being one of Usui's acquaintances and allies who helps Usui out with off-screen matters]]. As the anime ended after a single season, Igarashi ends his tenure as a villain without any significant changes to his character and doesn't remotely become anything resembling a somewhat helpful ally.

Added DiffLines:

* HazyFeelTurn: In the manga, he undergoes this when he chooses to [[spoiler: help Misaki get back with Usui who was overseas but still opts to rub it in by surprise kissing Misaki in front of Usui at the end, with Usui and Igarashi coming to blows later on after Usui helped him fight off a gang. In the epilogue, he becomes an ally of sorts to Usui when they help each other business-wise but other than that, it's hard to tell how much his inner moral compass has changed or if he has any genuine remorse for his past actions, including attempted rape]].

We're not supposed to put spoilers in character descriptions.

Student council president of the high-class and expensive Miyabigaoka Academy. He initially presents himself as a gentleman who admires Misaki's reforms at Seika and offers her a scholarship to Miyabigaoka, but it's quickly revealed that he's a lecherous young man who's used to being able to manipulate people thanks to his wealth and his family's high social status. He also seems to be familiar with Usui's background. [[spoiler: Maria Miyazono is an acquaintance of his, and he'd hired her to come to Seika to lure Usui to Miyabigaoka]].

* WakeUpCallBoss: For Misaki. She finds out for herself that he's the first antagonist she's gone up against who can't be overcome with her strong personality, martial arts, or a rousing speech.

* KnightOfCerebus: His presence doesn't make the story excessively dark but by the standards of a RomanticComedy anime, he's probably treated as the most serious antagonist in the story, being willing to commit AttemptedRape. And though Misaki gets into plenty of conflict with other men who harass her or have bad intentions for her, Igarashi is treated more seriously than them because while Misaki can mostly handle those other men, she most definitely can't handle Igarashi and needs Usui's help to deal with him. And in final contrast to all of Misaki's other male antagonists, Igarashi's presence tends to draw out more fear and revulsion from her than any other foe and it's a something that never really goes away until the end of the series.
