Her ambition prompts her to initiate, and put down, a civil war in the Zhcted Kingdom in an attempt to raise her reputation, and status, for when the time comes to take the throne for herself.

Urz is often mentioned amongst his living friends such as Bertran and Marthus as a means to help Tigre grow into a person as strong as his father was. Tigre also shows his deep connection with his father by using his name as a replacement when he came across Mila during the assault on her castle, and when Tigre ended up with amnesia; Urz being the only name he could remember.

* TheChessmaster: Controls Brune, and the people who follow him, from behind the scenes.

Marthus takes on the mentor figure for Tigre to ensure that he would make his father proud; teaching him the skills he will need to become a man as great as Urz once was. He also becomes one of the solders in the Silver Meteor Army as a means to continue looking after Tigre.

Liza is the victim of her predecessor's success. Liza's predecessor left Lebus prosperous and the office of the Vanadis fully staffed, giving Liza very little room to put her personal mark on things. Her first independent act is hiring Urz, who comes under extraordinary pressure and scrutiny as a result.

** Also, don't suggest you're going to take Urz away from her.

* LovableAlphaBitch: Despite her high and mighty personality, she's equal measures sweet and protective of what she considers hers (Urz).

* MistressAndServantBoy: The mistress to Urz's servant.

* TheRival: Liza is Elen's heated arch-rival, [[spoiler:others being Mila]], as she would go lengths to surpass her, [[spoiler:including having Tigre (Urz) as her own subordinate.]]

* WhatBeautifulEyes: She thinks the sentiment is shallow. Urz telling her they remind him of a cat is the first time she's felt someone was being honest with their impression.

Similar to Lim's development, Naum is skeptic about Tigre (Urz at the time) being chosen as Liza's servant due to the possibly of it putting a damper on his lord's reputation, but starts to come around after seeing Tigre's work under Liza's guidance. The two eventually begin to trust one another as Naum discusses to Tigre about Liza's past, and her history with Elen.

Like Naum before he befriended Urz (Tigre), Lazarl questions his lordships favoritism towards her new servant, and the possible feelings of animosity that will come of it amongst the soldiers of Lebus.

* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: Didn't think Urz would complete his task as a mediator, or that Liza was more cunning then he thought.

* OutGambitted: He does his best to make sure that Urz doesn't get over-rewarded for his previous accomplishments. He succeeds at first, but ends up getting played by Liza which resulted in Urz getting a high reward anyway.
* UndyingLoyalty: To Liza to the point that he tells her straight out that he will always be there or her. Later Urz as well after coming around to accepting him, even willing to help Urz if he decides to live in Lebus despite the feeling of jealousy/animosity that the people of Lebus have towards Urz.

* BigDamnHeroes: Saves Tigre (Urz at the time) from a group of bandits the moment they were trying to kill him.

* OddFriendship: Despite being his enemy, he forms one with Urz (Tigre) who Damad admits that it's nice to have someone to talk to, and shares his life experiences in Muozinel with him.

* WorthyOpponent: What Damad sees Urz (Tigre) as after realizing that his initial skirmish with Urz wasn't going to go anywhere.

He is actually a frog demon that knows about the black bow Tigre wields. Vodyanoy tries to kidnap Tigre to learn more about the man who wields the bow, but ends up losing in a fight against him and Mira; forcing Vodyanoy to retreat. He returns later on to act as a roadblock to keep Elen away from Baba Yaga's fight with Liza and Urz (Tigre).

* DevilInDisguise: A demon that takes the form of an elder woman. She reveals her true self when she decides to get serious in a fight with Liza and Urz (Tigre).

* [[spoiler:KilledOffForReal]]: [[spoiler:Near the end of Volume 10. After escaping, weak and battered, from possible death against a newly awakened Tigre, she runs into her fellow demon, Koschei, who finishes her off in order to eat Baba for more demonic power]].

** CharmPerson: Is capable of mind manipulation; forcing 15 Lebus soldiers to fight for her. However, it can only be done on the WeakWilled such as said 15 soldiers who were jealous of Urz interacting with Liza.

The son of King Faron who led the Brune army against Zchted at the Battle of Dinant. Regnas however, fell in battle; resulting in the king's mental state collapsing, and initiated Brune's civil war.

At first, Lim is distrustful towards Tigre due to the belief that sheltering him could cause a rift between the Brune and Zchted kingdoms, but she begins to warm up to him after Tigre saves her life from an assassin's poison. Lim has, since then, begun to teach Tigre the Zchted culture, and the means to become a competent general for the Silver Meteor Army he will be leading into battle.

A dear friend of Elen's, Sasha is considered to be the strongest of the Vanadis, despite suffering from an incurable genetic disease that leaves her bed-ridden to conserve her life-force. Sasha's territory ends up attacked by the fellow Vanadis, Liza, to force Elen to come to Sasha's aid; splitting her up from Tigre as he continues his rebellion in Brune. Later on, Sasha decides to make a stand against Torbalan when it is discovered that he has brought a legion of pirates to invade Zchted through her territory.

* FreudianExcuse: Her territory is in straits very similar to Alsace back at the beginning of the story. Unlike Tigrevormund Vorn, however, she can't simply go round up an army and attack the threat directly for several reasons, the most prominent of which is that the King of Zchted is silently in collusion with those that want to bring harm to her people and seize her territory, out of greed and jealousy, and she knows it. She's faking illness to avoid being sent on a UriahGambit because she's well aware of the king's near paranoid fear of the Vanadis, and their power, her territory becoming too prosperous for the king's taste, and her neighbors hasn't helped. Becoming the High Queen is basically her only option to protect her people.

Due to her young age, Olga would often run away from her territory, and travel the world, as she doesn't feel ready to rule her land. One such adventure brought her before Tigre who had been tasked by the king of Zchted to carry out a secret mission related to the Asvarre civil war. Olga herself hopes that Asvarre might have the answer shes looking for, and together, the two end up traveling to Asvarre; becoming involved in its war soon after.

!!King Victor

After his army's defeat by Zhcted's Vanadis Eleonora Viltaria, Tigre becomes her first ever prisoner of war after impressing her. He refuses her every attempt at recruitment, until Duke Thenardier launches an attack on Alsace as the opening move in Brune's civil war. To defend his home, Tigre ''hires'' Ellen and her army as mercenaries, and soundly defeats Thenardier. Together with other petty nobles, Tigre forms the Silver Meteor Army, which he leads to victory over both other factions of the civil war, as well as an invading army. During the course of the war Tigre develops into an excellent general, wins the admiration of enemies and allies alike, discovers Brune's secret heir, kills several dragons, fights off a demon, and discovers his AncestralWeapon has a secret destructive power linked to the goddess of death.

* HappinessInSlavery: Well, prisoner of war, but Tigre does enjoy considerable perks as Ellen's prisoner.

The wielder of the Dragonic sword of wind, Arifar, and the lord of the Leitmeritz territory in the Zhcted Kingdom.

Strong-willed and determined, Ellen is known for taking her enemy head-on at the front of the army. Ellen meets Tigre during the Battle of Dinant as bitter enemies; facing off against each other in combat. Ellen defeats Tigre, but she acknowledges his skill with the bow, and turns Tigre into her "prisoner of war" to not have his abilities go to waste. Alongside Tigre, the two lead the charge of rebellion under the banner of the Silver Meteor Army to end the Brune civil war.

* BerserkButton: Harming Tigre, or taking him away from Ellen, will make her quite upset.
* BettyAndVeronica: The Veronica to Titta's Betty, for Tigre's Archie. Ironically, she's the Betty for most of Tigre's other love interests.

At first, Rim is distrustful towards Tigre due to the belief that sheltering him could cause a rift between the Brune and Zchted kingdoms, but she begins to warm up to him after Tigre saves her life from an assassin's poison. Rim has, since then, begun to teach Tigre the Zchted culture, and the means to become a competent general for the Silver Meteor Army he will be leading into battle.

One of Ellen's generals, and the greatest archer in her ranks before Tigre came along.

When Tigre became Ellen's prisoner of war, Rurick initially gives him a hard time, but ends up at a loss for words after witnessing Tigre's true skill with the bow when the latter fires down an assassin from a far distance. Rurick ends up shaving his head, and swears loyalty to Tigre; becoming one of his closest friends, and strongest servicemen in the Silver Meteor Army.

* ImportantHaircut: Used to have very long hair until he shaves himself to show his loyalty towards Tigre after he shows him his skill and sparring his life from Ellen.

Despite her loss, and proclamation of neutrality to stay out of the Brune civil war, she returns later on to help Tigre fight back the invading Muozinel forces; becoming part of the Silver Meteor army.

Due to her dislike for violence, Sophie plays the moral guardian as a means to keep the peace amongst her Vanadis colleagues. However, her strong friendship with Ellen causes her to sometimes break away from this character; fighting alongside the Silver Meteor army on several occasions. In addition, Sophie is tasked to act as the messenger that relays the Zhcted Kingdom's goals, and wishes, to possible allies...a job that ends up getting her involved in the Asvarre civil war.

A dear friend of Ellen's, Sasha is considered to be the strongest of the Vanadis, despite suffering from an incurable genetic disease that leaves her bed-ridden to conserve her life-force. Sasha's territory ends up attacked by the fellow Vanadis, Liza, to force Ellen to come to Sasha's aid; splitting her up from Tigre as he continues his rebellion in Brune. Later on, Sasha decides to make a stand against Torbalan when it is discovered that he has brought a legion of pirates to invade Zchted through her territory.

Figneria was a former mercenary prior to her becoming a Vanadis, earning the moniker "Finé of the War Blade". She has a history with Ellen, having once befriended the girl's mentor Vissarion who was the head of the Silver Gale mercenary company.[[spoiler: Unfortunately the two found themselves fighting on opposite sides and ultimately it was Figneria who cut him down, causing the disbandment of Silver Gale after their leaders death.]]

* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Despite looking out for Sasha, he allows for Ellen to talk with her due to their past friendship.

!!Elizavetta Fomina

She is very antagonistic towards Ellen, whom she wants to surpass in every way. To keep uphold her connections with Duke Thenardier and Ganelon, Liza initiates hostilities against Sasha in a successful attempt at splitting the Silver Meteor army up. Later on, Liza, allies with Sasha in the fight against Torbalan's pirates.

* UnknownRival: Ellen knows that they don't get along. What she doesn't know is that [[spoiler:Liza looks up to and admires her, and is trying to surpass her for personal reasons]].

Similar to Rim's development, Naum is skeptic about Tigre (Urz at the time) being chosen as Liza's servant due to the possibly of it putting a damper on his lord's reputation, but starts to come around after seeing Tigre's work under Liza's guidance. The two eventually begin to trust one another as Naum discusses to Tigre about Liza's past, and her history with Ellen.

* IknowYouKnowIKnow: She suspects that her deployment with Tigre and Ellen in Volume 11 is more than King Victor's usual UriahGambit.

Despite being king, Victor allows the Vanadis to do whatever they desire so long as they keep Zhcted's well-being first and foremost, and to keep the Vanadis users happy due to the fear that the power of their Dragonic Tools could be used against him if one is treated unfairly. However, how much a Vanadis can get away with comes to question when he learns that Ellen has invaded Brune to protect the territory of Alsace from its own people, and is only convinced otherwise when Ellen offers him new land, and better relations with Brune, should Tigre's revolution succeed.

He is actually a frog demon that knows about the black bow Tigre wields. Vodyanoy tries to kidnap Tigre to learn more about the man who wields the bow, but ends up losing in a fight against him and Mira; forcing Vodyanoy to retreat. He returns later on to act as a roadblock to keep Ellen away from Baba Yaga's fight with Liza and Urz (Tigre).

* OlderThanTheyLook: When he meets Tigre and company, he is described to be old and wrinkly despite his youth.

* MoralMyopia: She's no stranger to Thernadier's methods, and history, yet sees nothing wrong with any of it, including the attempted razing of Alsace. Yet, she considers Tigre killing him in a duel, demanded by Thernadier himself, no less, which, under Thernadier's own laws, makes Tigre, the rightful successor, she considers it an unforgivable crime, and swears vengeance, starting with open rebellion and treason against the rightful Queen, by blood.
