Though he doesn't take to a Valkyrie himself much anymore, he has lost none of his skills, and is an excellent tactician. He and Miria are currently separated, but still legally married.

The commander of a rogue, uncultured Meltrandi fleet that encounters Macross 7 in deep space. She used to know Miria, and is confused as to why Miria seems entirely disinterested in their rivalry anymore.

The main protagonist of the series, Basara is a young rock musician looking to leave his mark on the world. Despite overall being a pretty laid-back guy, his focus on his goals can lead others to see him as self-centered, and he's often frustrated when people do not understand his motivations. When the Protodeviln attack, he begins flying his Valkyrie into battle to sing at them, hoping to replicate Minmay's feat of ending conflict through song.
