* NiceGirl: One of the most kindhearted characters in the series, with easily unmatched altruism; she really cares more how others feel than how she does herself. She's very supportive, sweet, quiet, and generally goes along with whatever her friends are doing. Umi even complains that she can be too nice, at least towards Honoka.

* TheCutie: A NiceGirl, albeit shy, who loves animals and cute things.

* NiceGirl: She's a kindhearted girl who loves cute things; she would be very similar to Kotori, if her shyness didn't hold her back.

* NiceGirl: A somewhat odd example due to the situations that happen in the series. Umi fundamentally ''is'' a very kind person, but a side that's seen often of her onscreen is that she's pretty strict (especially towards Honoka), and she isn't shy about showing her feelings of disappointment at laziness or incompetence. That said, this essentially happens because she's usually pushed too far, and ultimately it's still shown she's a very kind and loyal friend at heart, who worries about the well-being of her friends. Overall, in her behavior, she's also very polite and graceful.

* {{Tsundere}}: She can be considered a Sweet type: not naturally harsh, but gets annoyed around overly carefree and lazy people, due to her very high standards.

* NiceGirl: Quite similar to Honoka, very playful and has a mischievous streak, but she's a kind, friendly and fun-loving individual.

* AdaptationPersonalityChange: '''And how!''' Eli suffers this the most out of the girls; in the manga, she was far more approachable as the student council's president and was one of Honoka's ChildhoodFriends. In the anime, she's an IceQueen with no relationship with the other characters except for [[OnlyFriend Nozomi]] (until character development kicks in).

* BigBad: Of the "mundane jerk" varient for the anime's first eight episodes, as she constantly roadblocks µ's from achieving their goals and is the biggest direct obsticle they face. Once her FreudianExcuse and [[BeneathTheMask her actual desires]] come to light, she [[HeelFaceTurn turns around and joins the group]], landing the rest of the show sqaurely in NoAntagonist territory.

* CoolBigSis: Like Nozomi, she often has good advice for the other girls, even if she seems antagonistic at the time about it. Even more so in the manga.

* DefrostingIceQueen: In episode 8. Until then, she's a full-on IceQueen, reserved and sometimes hostile, only showing her softer side to Nozomi and Alisa. After she defrosts, despite still being one of the most level-headed girls, she's even more relaxed and approachable than standoffish Maki or shy and withdrawn Umi.

* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: She has blonde hair, and despite her initial hostile, aloof and distant behaviour, she's a genuinely kind and benevolent girl, thanks to CharacterDevelopment.

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Or rather, her CharacterDevelopment turns her from "jerk" to outright "heart of gold". In the anime's first 8 episodes, she's a rather arrogant and petty elitist who constantly tries to obstruct µ's because she thinks they and Idol Singers in general amatuer dancers. This completely goes away after Character Development sets in.

* NiceGirl: Ultimately turns out to be this through CharacterDevelopment. While she used to be an IceQueen, it was pretty much an act. It's even more prevelant in the manga, since that incarnation of her is friendly from the start and only doesn't help µ's at first because her hands are tied with her Student Council President duties.

* ByronicHeroine: Oddly enough, in a rather happy-go-lucky idol series, she's a rather brooding, aloof and cynical character with an arrogant streak, who is also introspective, prefers to work alone, and is very intelligent and multitalented. Of course, she's also very attractive.

* GoodIsNotNice: She's a genuinely good person like the other members of the group, yet she's rather cynical and grumpy, and can be prideful to the point of being arrogant.

* {{Ojou}}: Comes from a pretty wealthy family, but subverts this personality-wise. She's relatively polite, but standoffish and blunt.

* AntiHero: If there is one character to consider as this in such a lighthearted series, Nico qualifies. She's rather antagonistic at first, and when she joins (which she did in first place for self-serving reasons) she's still quite irritable and self-absorbed. However, despite her flaws, she's still an endearing JerkWithAHeartOfGold.

* EvilIsPetty: She has an outright antagonistic, childish and petty behavior towards the other members of the group before befriending them. Nico isn't evil though; she's [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold just kind of an egotistical jerk, even though she has a good heart deep down]].

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Nico is actually pretty surly [[TheFakeCutie despite her cutesy act]], and can be kind of an egomaniac and downright nasty and obnoxious sometimes, due to her self-centeredness. However, she's still a good person deep down, and is more caring than one would first think. She cares a lot about her friends and takes care of her younger siblings the best she can, also wanting them to believe she's an incredibly good idol.

* ManipulativeBastard: PlayedWith. While she is rather arrogant and egotistical, and easily bullies others to get what she wants and can be petty, two-faced and duplicitous, on the other hand she's rather naive, especially being very easy to manipulate by feeding into her AwesomeEgo and spoiling her, letting her get what she temporarily wants.

* NiceGirl: In pre-anime materials, she is portrayed her as a nice, friendly and cherful girl who helps Maki become more outgoing. The anime outright changed her personality into a [[TheFakeCutie Fake Cutie]] who still has [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold a nicer side]], and [[CharacterizationMarchesOn post-anime material has generally stuck with this characterization]].

** In her diary novel, it looks like she stopped growing since first-year, much to her dismay.
