* BadassOnPaper: He feels he has this going on. People look at the successes of the Tea Party and all the awesome gear he has and think he must be a total {{Badass}} to have all that. But he says that a lot of it was due to luck or other people covering for his failures and that he, when you get down to it, wouldn't have accomplished anything on his own.

* BadassOnPaper: He feels he has this going on. People look at the successes of the Tea Party and all the awesome gear he has and think he must be a total {{Badass}} badass to have all that. But he says that a lot of it was due to luck or other people covering for his failures and that he, when you get down to it, wouldn't have accomplished anything on his own.

* {{Badass}}: Certainly; [[spoiler: she's the first one of Shiroe's party to figure out how fighting works.]] And boy, does she make it look awesome. Shiroe particularly notes that she's a "good" assassin. Considering Shiroe's knack for strategy and his own status, it's reasonable to draw the conclusion that if Shiroe calls her "good", Akatsuki is ''really'' "good".

* {{Badass}}: [=DTP=] alumni and as such, is recognized in-universe as a formidable adventurer.
** It's worth mentioning that Nyanta doesn't have any Phantasmal Class gear and his only Artifact Class item is a pair of boots that boost his inventory size. Despite this, he was ranked just behind Isaac and Krusty in 1v1 [[PlayerVersusPlayer PvP]] before the Apocalypse putting him in the top 3 on the Japanese server. Nyanta is just that good at the game.

* {{Badass}}: When you realise that he's [[spoiler:a Lander and thus only receives 1/4 the EXP of Adventurers, you realise that for him to reach the mid-20s is a feat that would probably land him somewhere around the 60 mark if he hadn't been held back by his Lander identity.]]

* {{Badass}}: He takes down a boss that was using an exploit to increase her HP, when earlier she wiped out a huge 96 man raid. ''By himself''.

Nureha is the last of the three "main heroine" concepts Mamare created, but was passed over for Akatsuki, likely due to her rather serious backstory as well as the overlap between her and Shiroe's character classes.

!The Knights of Odyssea

A guild initially native to Akiba, since the Catastrophe they have decided to not tie themselves down to a single Main/HubCity, and instead travel the countryside fighting whatever foes they could find. They firmly believe that, if they die enough times, they can return back to the real world; to this end, they carry around a portable resurrection shrine, with not only facilitates their nomadic nature, but gets them back into the fight quickly when they die.

Unlike the city-dwelling adventurers, the Knights continue to treat their existence as a game, and have no qualms of treating Landers as {{NPC}}s, to the point of not even seeing their deaths during encounters as collateral damage, a fact that infuriates the junior members of Log Horizon.

to:

* DeathSeeker: They all deliberately want to do this, as their leader tells Touya that every time they die, they can see glimpses of the world they came from, and try to reach closer to it as much as they can.
* DestructiveSavior: Sure, they sort of saved the town from the horde of wyverns in episode 20, but unfortunately they destroyed much of it in the process. They then leave to go to another area shortly after the fighting ends. Unlike Log Horizon, they don't even ''offer'' to help rebuild.
* LeeroyJenkins: Their modus operandi. Every single one of them tries to provoke and aggro as many monsters as they possibly can, with the intention of getting killed so they can see the real world. However, this disturbs Touya and the others when they witness this first hand.
* RealityIsUnrealistic: Inverted example. They think Elder Tales is a game and want to get out as soon as possible. They refuse to accept that they're stuck there in a world where they can't stay dead, nor do they grasp that their actions ''do'' have real consequences.
* WalkingTheEarth: Unlike many other adventurers, they're not tied down to one city, and instead travel from place to place, carrying a portable resurrection shrine with them.
* WhatMeasureIsANonhuman: Because they treat their situation like a game, the knights aren't too worried about collateral damage. Even if it means Landers accidentally getting killed or their town getting trashed by the monsters in the process of the fighting. Touya in particular gets rather angry about their blase attitude.

** She feels like this at times. While she is extremely skilled herself, she's in complete awe at watching the former DTP members working together, such as when Shiroe and Nyanta teamed up against Demikas. They were able to coordinate their attacks so well without even having to talk to one another that she felt a bit useless. Fortunately for her, Shiroe values her contributions as well, such as when she takes out enemy mages and healers. The reason is because she restricts her playstyle and avoids raids, groups and certain quests due to her roleplaying, because ninjas are supposed to be lone wolves. This not only means a lack of experience in group combat, but she's also under-geared because the best equipment comes from raids/dungeons. In WorldOfWarcraft terms, she's a max level Rogue wearing nothing but auction house green/blue equipment.

* {{Ninja}}: She calls herself one, but technically she's an assassin. During the Eastal Ball, she performs such function when Shiroe tells her to spy on the Landers.
* NoSocialSkills: Both in RealLife and the ''Elder Tales'' game. In RealLife, the woman playing as Akatsuki has always been cursed with extremely short stature and a childlike appearance, meaning that people her own age avoid her, but she's too old to identify with children. Because of this, she has never been on a date or even had a close friend. The reason she started playing the ''Elder Tale'' game was because there, being high-leveled was the only thing that mattered. People were bound to respect you if you had a level high enough, although this only allowed for superficial acquaintanceships. However, meeting Shiroe and joining Log Horizon allowed her to meet her very first TrueCompanions that accepted her for who she is.
* OlderThanTheyLook: She looks like a little kid, but is actually twenty. In the novels, it's stated that even in the real world, this is her eternal curse; she's never had a close relationship (platonic or otherwise) because when she was in high school everyone thought she was a grade schooler, and when she entered college, they thought she was in middle school. The only men she attracts are either too young for her... or pedos.

* TheRival: She has a minor BSOD when she realizes she's competing with a middle-school girl for her love. Akatsuki is a grown woman, but to her extreme dismay, she has never been able to break out of being treated like a child due to looking like one (even in RealLife). Now that problem has followed her into her fantasy life as well.
* TheRolePlayer: She role plays a ninja, even after she became trapped in ''Elder Tales''. She's so good at her role that Shiroe noted that when ''Elder Tales'' was just a game, you couldn't even tell if she was a real player or an NPC.

If he tries to say "panties" around her, she will immediately send him flying with a kick to the face; if she's not with him but is within a mile or two, she will somehow know when he tries to say it, use her Assassin/Tracker skills to teleport and kick him, then teleport back and act like nothing happened; if she's too far away to sense the word and teleport, then something will happen that nearly kills him.
