What he didn't know was how deep Naminé's powers can penetrate: when she erased Sora and co.'s memories, the journal entries were erased too (just like at the beginning of COM, which Jiminy probably should have remembered, but didn't). However, Naminé made a mistake too: in restoring their KH1 memories, the previous journal should have been restored as well, but something went wrong.
