!!General Tropes For The Karakuridouji
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yamato_3148.png

org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_lbw60pKSQe1qa36cxo1_500_7005.jpg

The main hero. He's known mostly Karakuridouji - "Mechanical Boys" - are robots created by all of this friends (and enemies) for being Dr. Dustan. They're "robots designed to learn", meaning that they must choose a huge idiot loudmouth and for his unusually tall height. In his past life, he was a bandit who later gained recognition with the people for his heroic, Robin Hood-like actions against the corrupt government. He is the master to guide them into finding out what is truly good or evil (This will probably lead to a few FaceHeelTurn & HeelFaceTurn in the future). Besides from what they've learned, the robots have no human emotions.

These are tropes that every (or most) Karakuridoji has. Tropes that only ''some'' (as in, three or less)
of the greatest Good doji, Ultimo.doji have should be moved to them only.

Tropes associated with Yamato:
* {{Adorkable}}

* BeingGoodSucks
* BerserkButton: Even mention destruction anywhere remotely close to where Sayama is, and Yamato will lose it.

** Chapter 25 shows that in his past life he used to peek on Sayama (who was [[{{Lolicon}} much]] younger back then) undressing.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Typically Yamato is just the normal IdiotHero, but if you push him too far or [[{{BerserkButton}} mention Sayama,]] he'll sport a SlasherSmile and start a fight.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow
* DidYouJustFlipOffCthulhu: Yamato jumps at Vice, motivated by the desire to protect Sayama. This causes Ultimo to remember that Yamato's personality and values are the same as they were nine centuries ago, and he takes the opportunity to attack Vice, albeit being broken in half in the process.
* DisappearedDad: Yamato's dad.
* DumbIsGood
* DumbMuscle
* {{Expy}}: His past self looks like Amidimaru and/or Silva from ShamanKing.

* SelectiveObliviousness: Yamato, about Rune's crush on him.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: Ultimo and Yamato play this straight with their appearances, and their personalities in general. But, they also subvert it with the fact that Ultimo is a fighting robot, and obviously a lot stronger.
* ShirtlessScene: After {{Shirtless Scene}}, after {{Shirtless Scene}}, after, [[{{RunningGag}} well, you get the point.]]
* ShowerOfAngst: Yamato has one in chapter 4 when Sayama mistakes him for being a child molester.
* SingleGirlSeeksMostPopularGuy: Inverted with Yamato and Sayama. He's a dorky single guy that has a crush on (possibly) the most popular girl in class.
* SingleTargetSexuality: He really seems to only have an interest in Sayama.
* SpeedStripes: Yamato has these whenever he's running.
* TakeAThirdOption: His plan is to fight or meet all the Doji masters before the Hundred Machine funeral.
* TeensAreShort: ...compared to Yamato.
* TooDumbToFool: Yamato immediately thinks there something fishy about Iruma's offer in chapter 5, though knowing him from his past life does help.
* TookALevelInDumbass: BeyondTheImpossible, but yes, he really does seem to get dumber and dumber each chapter.
* TooSpicyForYogSothoth : In Act 18, when Jealousy reads his heart, he sees a army of Sayamas surrounding him and Yamato, making him realize that he'll die if he tries to perform the pledge with him. Unfortunately, this causes him to notice [[spoiler:Kodaira.]]
* TheWoobie: At first all his [[{{ButtMonkey}} bad luck was pretty funny,]] but then {{It Got Worse}}, and kept getting worse, until he fell into this category.

!!Rune Kodaira

Yamato's best friend since the fifth grade. He had a rather insecure, yet empathetic personality before he met Jealous. Afterwards he seems to display much more confidence, but also cruelty. His family is apparently rich, as he has a huge mansion (in ''Tokyo'', no less). In his past life he was [[{{GenderBender}} a princess]] who married Yamato, before [[spoiler:Ultimo slaughtered her because of her status as a noble.]] His [[{{StalkerWithACrush}} undying love]] for Yamato that has carried onto the present lets [[{{TheCorrupter}} Jealousy]] convince him to become his master.

Tropes associated with Rune:
* AxCrazy: Is venturing into this territory.
* AdjustingYourGlasses: He starts to do this after his turn to TheDarkSide.
* AllLoveIsUnrequited: Rune loves Yamato, but Yamato doesn't love him back.
* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: Is Rune a [[{{TheWoobie}} heartbroken avenger]] for [[spoiler:his past life's fate]] that has a good reason to kill both Ultimo ''and'' Yamato? Or is he an [[{{AxCrazy}} insane, twisted]], selfish mindfucker who doesn't deserve redemption?

Yamato's best friend since the fifth grade. He had a rather insecure, yet empathetic personality before he met Jealous. Afterwards he seems to display much more confidence, but also cruelty. !!K

A 32-year-old unemployed man who wishes to be called "The Vice Master". You'd probably only remember him for his ugly appearance. In his past life he was the Emperor. Note that all {{Badass}} tropes associated with him will be subverted because really, would you consider this guy to be cool?

Tropes associated with K:
* BadassBiker: Subverted, though it is a cool bike.
* BadassLongcoat: Subverted.

* ButtMonkey: Both in-universe and within the fandom!
* CatchPhrase: "God Dammit"
** [[{{Bowdlerise}} "So Crazy"]] in the English translation.
* CombatPragmatist: Because of how Vice is built, K's cowardly poses are able to completely defend their combined form from most attacks.
* CoolBike: Where did K get it, did he just do a wheelie, is it hovering in the air? WHO CARES?!!
* CoolCar: K or to be more precise, Emperoro Kotsutsubono's Violent Type Milk Harvest Countack: A Three Ox Powered, Flat Heavy Treaded Wheeked SUPER OX CART! It has an overwhelming presence, [[{{Catchphrase}} god dammit]].
** It is shown in chapter 16 that he has a whole collection of these [[{{CoolCar}} super ox carts]]. One of them is even made by a person named Enjo [[{{ShoutOut}} Ferari]].

* TheEmperor: Subverted, as he was more blindingly incompetent than outright evil.
* EvenBadMenLoveTheirMamas: K worried about what his grandmother would think if he were evil.
* EvilIsPetty: Hopes his Doji will get him out of work, and mentions that one of the major benefits of killing all but a billion people on Earth is that he won't have to wait in line as long.
* EvillyAffable: He controls the strongest Evil robot in the manga and wants revenge on Yamato for all the humiliations he's suffered; but can barely afford to pay the rent, frets about worrying his grandmother, and cooks hamburgers for Vice.
* FanDisservice: In Icon Mode. [[{{Squick}} Oh god...]]

* LaughablyEvil
* {{Lolicon}}: ''Ultimo Ulate Part 2'' showed he had a crush on ''Sayama''. Who was 11-12 at the time by the way.
* MotiveRant: Does one in chapter 12.
* {{Narm}}: As mentioned above, when {{Badass}} tropes are associated with him, they automatically become subverted. His appearance, his terrible personality, ''everything'' about him screams that he's a loser.
* NotSoHarmless: He might be built like a stick, looks like a geek, and he's unemployed, but K wasn't chosen by Vice for nothing.
** K's shortcomings actually make him the ideal master for the douji of ultimate evil, because he's emblematic of everything that is wrong with humanity.
*** Also since he is so easy to push over, Vice can literally do whatever he wants. That includes slicing his own teammates in half.
* {{Squick}}: See {{Narm}}.

* TheSmartGuy: [[spoiler:Or TheLancer, based on the current situation in the manga.]]
* SuperCop: It is mentioned numerous times that in the future the police modify their bodies; Murayama is no different. Bonus points for the fact that he traveled Dustan back to the past and is trying to stop the Hundred Machine Funeral from happening with all he's got.
* TookALevelInJerkass: He seemed relatively polite up into chapter 12. Not so much now.
* TrappedInThePast: How will Murayama [[{{FridgeHorror}} get back to his own time]] after he stops the Hundred Machine Funeral from happening?
* UngratefulBastard: Subverted; he generally thanks Eco for all that he's done, but refuses to acknowledge Yamato for saving his life by pressing the ResetButton and returning him to the day before the Hundred Machine Funeral.
* WhenHeSmiles: He gives a genuine smile to [[spoiler:Sayama]] in Chapter 25.
* YouCantFightFate: Murayama comes from the future, and his goal is to stop the Hundred Machine Funeral from happening. He fails the first time, and considering how Dunstan is always meddling with events, he probably can't stop it from happening.

[[folder: The Karakuridoji]]

!!General
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_lbw60pKSQe1qa36cxo1_500_7005.jpg

The Karakuridouji - "Mechanical Boys" - are robots created by Dr. Dustan. They're "robots designed to learn", meaning that they must choose a master to guide them into finding out what is truly good or evil (This will probably lead to a few FaceHeelTurn & HeelFaceTurn in the future). Besides from what they've learned, the robots have no human emotions.

These are tropes that every (or most) Karakuridoji has. Tropes that only ''some'' (as in, three or less) of the doji have should be moved to them only.
----
* AbsurdlySharpBlade[=/=]{{BFS}}: The doji's gauntlets can transform into this.
* AchillesHeel: The only way a doji can die is if you crush their spirit sphere, which is located inside of their chests.
* AlwaysMale: Subverted, as the doji ''are'' just robots. Karakuridoji does means "Mechanical Boy" however.
* AnimeAnatomy: Ultimo and Vice have this in the prologue, as they're robots. Let's just hope this carried over to the main manga...
* BadassAutomaton
* BareYourMidriff
* {{Bishonen}}
* CallingYourAttacks: Both in normal and mecha form.
* ColorCodedForYourConvenience: The doji all have a theme color (e.g. Ultimo's is scarlet, Vice's is green and iron, Jealousy's is blue and pink).
* CreepyDoll: Subverted by the doji, as they're robots. But yes, they are ''very'' creepy.
* DoAnythingRobot
* DudeLooksLikeALady: '''Most of the doji.'''
* EstrogenBrigadeBait: Most of them.
* FetishFuel
* GoodEyesEvilEyes: The Good doji, such as Sophia, have wide, child-like eyes in contrast to some of the evil doji's narrowed eyes.
** Jealousy has black marks under his eyes, giving him a [[{{EstrogenBrigadeBait}} shadowy look]].
*** [[{{RidiculouslyHumanRobot}} Or maybe he just needs to]] [[{{CompletelyMissingThePoint}} take a nap for once.]]
* HumongousMecha: The doji in Icon form.
* NoGender: Given that Karakuridoji are actually advance robots from the future/past/it's complicated.
* NonHumanSidekick: To their masters.
* PullingThemselvesTogether: The doji can do this pretty quickly, as long as they have a master.
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: Milieu has said that Dunstan dropped them all off around the same time... 900 years ago. Ultimo's weary appearance when Yamato encounters him in the antique shop suggest that the doji have been waiting for their masters to reincarnate since then.
* RidiculouslyHumanRobot: Just ''look'' at them. Why Dustan would give them hair, clothes, the ability to eat and sleep, and to basically be ''children'' is very wanted information.
* RoboFamily: Some of the doji have refered to Dunstan as their father. Jealous has also called Ultimo his brother.
** Which causes some amount of {{Squick}} when you remember Chapter 12. Avaro molesting/raping Service would be considered BrotherSisterIncest.
* RobotKid: A hundred of them.
* SevenDeadlySins: There is a set of mechanical boys based on the Sins. They are the strongest under Vice.
* SevenHeavenlyVirtues: The strongest under Ultimo are the Six Perfects of Buddhism. They oppose those based on the Sins.
* ShapeshifterWeapon: The Karakuridoji are capable of transforming their gauntlets into various oversize weapons. They can even transform their entire bodies.
* SlidingScaleOfRobotIntelligence: Subverted. While some of them do exhibit emotions and knowledge of human nature, [[{{TheStoic}} the]] [[{{LackOfEmpathy}} others...]]
* {{Stripperific}}
* SuperRobot
* TechnicolorEyes: Although it's hard to tell on some of the doji, if you look close enough, you can see that their pupils are a rather bizarre color. (Ultimo-Green Eyes and Red Pupils, Jelaous-Pink Eyes and Blue Pupils, ect.)
* TinMan: Subverted with the doji, as they have no human emotions but embody the characteristics of their particular virtue/sin.
* ViewerGenderConfusion

http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/viceisawesome_4473.png

Just as Ultimo is the greatest of the Good doji, Vice is the ultimate form of Evil. You can pretty much guess what his [[{{AxCrazy}} nature and personality]] are from that fact. His master in the present is K. It is currently unknown if, in the past, he even had a master.

An Evil doji that embodies envy of the SevenDeadlySins. He is the second doji Ultimo and Yamato (not to mention the reader) are introduced to, both in the past and in the present.
