* ChekhovsSkill: His soldier training allows him to survive in Helheim and gives him the will power to resist the fruits psychic lure.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Deconstructed. Oren's lack of common sense and tact makes him an unwitting, and somewhat cruel, villain.

* HiddenDepths: Toward the end of #25 we see that his "training" of Junoichi does seem like he's truly more interested in helping him to become a better person than just relishing the chance to punish someone he thinks is a young punk. In addition, he seems to genuinely believe the accusations that he makes against the Beat Riders; eventually, he begins to see there really might be more to the story of the Inves than the Beat Riders releasing them into Zawame.

* HonorBeforeReason: Turns down a major advantage against Gaim because it would have interrupted a customer at his store, and because it would make their battle unfair.

* KickTheDog: All of #18 was him finding new ways to ruin the Beat Riders lives.

* LockedOutOfTheLoop: Bravo and Gridon haven't been kept appraised of the latest plot developments (well, Kouta tried but Bravo refused to listen). In #25 they start getting a clue that they're about twelve episodes behind.

* ObliviouslyEvil: Oren doesn't seem to get that his campaign to stop those punk kids makes him engage in crimes like intimidation, threats, malicious slander, and assault. He also genuinely had ''no'' idea what was actually happening.

* PoorCommunicationKills: The main reason why Oren is a villain is because he constantly jumps to conclusions and refuses to listen to what other people have to say.

* PsychoForHire: He becomes Takatora's psycho, to be exact. Though it's in part because he has a crush on Zangetsu who works for Yggdrasil (though he didn't know ''who'' was wearing the mask.

*** It is to note however that when Sid was reviewing his profile, and when he was playing DrillSergeantNasty to Jonouchi, the beret was green,.

* ShooOutTheClowns: Disappears from the plot when it's dealing with the more serious storylines.

* VillainDecay: Bravo started out as a major antagonist, rivaling Zangetsu as the strongest Rider of the series. But as the threats ramped up, Bravo... just stayed the same. He's still stuck on bullying children because nobody's told him otherwise about the situation. He's still pretty badass against normal Inves though. Eventually he fights alongside the heroes once he learns what's really going on.

* {{Expy}}: [[Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica If Ryoji is Mami Tomoe, Yoko would be Kyoko Sakura]].

** He is also similar to [[VisualNovel/FateStayNight Shirou Emiya]]. Both of them are inexperienced [[{{Determinator}} determinators]] who [[TookALevelInBadass took several levels in badass]] while having [[ChronicHeroSyndrome heroic tendencies]]. And just like Shirou, Kouta is [[BewareOfTheNiceOnes not above using violence when provoked]].

* PsychopathicManChild: Has shades of this. Micchy doesn't seem to care about anyone or anything else beyond what he personally wants. [[spoiler:He's even willing to kill his best friend and threaten innocent people if it helps his goals.]]

* TheSociopath: [[spoiler:The way he drastically changes his views of his loved ones at the drop of a hat is very much abnormal and sociopathic. His willingness to kill Kouta is due entirely to jealousy and anger, even though Kouta is acting heroically and saving peoples' lives. He also shows absolutely no reaction or angst about his brother's apparent death, as if Takatora doesn't even register in his mind anymore.]]
** He doesn't seem the least bit bothered by [[spoiler:working with Redyue, even though she's planning a full-scale invasion of Earth.]]

* {{Expy}}: Knows European language? Check. Veteran Fighter? Check. SupremeChef? Check. Has a father-son relationship with another Armored Rider? Check. The only thing he needs to do is saying [[Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica "Tiro Finale!"]] while landing a deathblow.

** Since he's [[ManInWhite "the white]] [[EvilCounterpart Armored Rider"]] and [[NecessarilyEvil the boss]] [[AuthorityInNameOnly of Yggdrasil's R&D]], Takatora plays the role of [[Manga/PuellaMagiOrikoMagica Oriko Mikuni]] to Kouta's Madoka Kaname.

** Her role as Ryoma's [[TheDragon Dragon]] (until #32) and Micchy's {{Foil}} makes her similar to [[Manga/PuellaMagiOrikoMagica Kirika Kure]] without any [[PsychopathicManchild psychopathic]] AxCrazy tendencies.
** She can also be compared to [[VisualNovel/FateStayNight Rider]], since both of them switched their loyalties to another Armored Rider/Master.

** Played for laughs in the ''[[ResshaSentaiTokkyuger ToQger]]'' crossover. He doesn't even notice a giant robot/monster battle outside of his office window.

* AlienKudzu: Played for horror - more than usual anyway. Most uses of this trope have it as a symptom of an alien threat; Helheim ''is'' the threat. It's an unfeeling force of nature, and NatureIsNotNice.

* OrcusOnHisThrone: It would probably take a lot less than ten years for Helheim to overtake Earth if the Overlords were leading its invasion, yet they seem content to just sit around doing nothing, letting the forest do all the work. On the flip side, they also don't care to restrain Helheim either. Justified, as Roshuo doesn't ''want'' to take over Earth.

* ImplacableMan: In all of his fights he's fought multiple Riders in succession and keeps going even when his opponents tag out or have had a chance to recuperate while he hasn't.
* {{Jerkass}}: Deemushu is a rude, vicious, violent thug and that's all there is to him.

* NiceJobFixingItVillain: His RoaringRampageOfRevenge against Kaito caused Takatora to be aware of another way to save humanity causing him to support Kouta.
* OmnicidalManiac: His social Darwinism reaches this level. He just wants to have people hurt, subjugate, and kill each other until there's only one last man standing.

* WarIsGlorious: Holds this mindset and its used to show how horrible a person he is.

* VillainTakesAnInterest: Yet another villain that finds Mitchy interesting; this will ''not'' end well.

* AntiVillain: Isn't really evil anymore, having long abandoned his SocialDarwinist philosophy. He doesn't so much want to destroy mankind as think giving them what could save them would be a wasted effort, as he believes they're no different from his kind and would only destroy themselves with it. Even then, he's willing to give them a chance to prove him wrong.

* [[spoiler:GoodIsNotSoft: He's easily the least malevolent Inves in the series and was nice enough to save Takatora's life and let him stay with him, and generally tries to keep his minions in line, and even offered Sid a chance to just leave with his life. But when Sid didn't take it, Roshuo killed him. Brutally.]]

* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: [[spoiler:When Zawame takes over, she tries to flee and just leaves a note behind for Kouta.]]

* FaceHeelTurn: Subverted. He started out ChaoticNeutral, but after Taketora hires him, he appeared to have become a straight up villain, but ultimately his own standards still often shine through, and like most of the other characters, he still has his own personal agenda, these factors have gotten directly in the way of him being properly evil at least once.

* HiddenDepths: Toward the end of #25 we see that his "training" of Junoichi does seem like he's truly more interested in helping him to become a better person than just relishing the chance to punish someone he thinks is a young punk. At the end he even begins to see there really might be more to the story of the Inves than the Beat Riders releasing them into Zawame.

* LightningBruiser: He hits hard, moves fast, and can tank some serious damage. According to his stats, he's actually the most powerful off the normal Armored Riders, being even stronger (though less skilled) than Zangetsu.

* SpannerInTheWorks: Takatora fears that he could become this for Yggdrasill's plans due to his past as a soldier. Happens in an entirely different way in #17: he derails Micchy's plan to steal Kouta's Driver because it would have involved interrupting Akira (Kouta's sister) as she dined at Charmant.

* TookALevelInJerkass: Oren was always a {{Jerkass}}, but he takes his douchebagery to new and exciting extremes in #18 by being a bigger dick in that episode than all of his previous appearances combined.

* TheWorfEffect: He has actual combat training and the most raw power out of any of the non-Yggdrasil Riders, but then Zangetsu hands him his ass in #11 (not in the way he probably would have preferred, but still) to show much even Oren's outclassed by him. Since then he's become the show's designated punching bag to show how Kouta and Kaito make a good team when they have a reason to fight on the same side, or how Kouta's Jimber Arms stack up against the ordinary Armored Riders. As of #25 his descent into pure comic relief seems complete. At least [[RedemptionPromotion until he turns good.]]

* EvilCounterpart: To Bravo (well, Evil-er Counterpart). Unlike the other Armored/New Generation Rider comparisons, they don't share an armor theme, but they both enjoy antagonizing others and especially picking on children.

** Originally, Sid distributes the Sengoku Drivers to Beat Rider teams because of how easily manipulable and accepting they are of power given to them for free, while 'adults' like Sid will question this. [[spoiler: This comes to bite him in the ass in #31, as he was easily tempted by the forbidden fruit offered by Redyue, getting him killed. Micchy knows that it is a trap and decides not to follow him.]]

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: The TV-Nihon fansub initially Romanized his name as "Cid."

** [[spoiler: In that same scene the Redyue pretty much confirms he's not human when she asks if he's "assuming their form now?"]]

* EnigmaticMinion: He's proving to be even more enigmatic than Sid. [[spoiler: He might be Roshuo's minion but that's still up in the air.]]

* FairPlayVillain: [[spoiler: The reason why he's giving Kouta power ups is because he wants the fight for the Forbidden Fruit to be as fair as possible and he thinks that Yggdrasill started the game at an unfair advantage. Maybe, Sagara has shown himself to be an ''excellent'' liar.]]

* MysteriousBacker: [[spoiler: He decides to become Kouta's benefactor after being impressed by his inner ubermensch.]]
** [[spoiler: He is the one that gives Kouta the Kachidoki Lockseed. What's more, Ryoma doesn't recognize it as one of his projects.]]

* He's this to [[spoiler:Ryoma, in terms of development. Both started out as loyal friends to another Rider (Micchy to Kouta, Ryoma to Takatora), but they each became jaded when the object of their loyalty acted out of altruism instead of selfishness or ambition (Kouta wants to save innocents whenever possible in defiance of Micchy's scheming, while Takatora has no desire to rule over the world like Ryoma does).]]

** This becomes a plot point in #33, where [[spoiler:Bravo identifies him as an imposter because he's not as skilled as Takatora is.]]

** And another in #33 after [[spoiler:Kouta foils his plans again by pulling yet another powerup out of nowhere.]]

** [[spoiler:His actions as Zangetsu Shin II. He makes several attempts to brutally beat Kouta (taking obvious pleasure in doing so), all while tricking Kouta into thinking he's really Takatora.]]

* WrongGenreSavvy: [[spoiler: In #29, Micchy's plan to kill Kouta hinges on Kouta being an AllLovingHero who would be willing to die to keep a fragile alliance and tries to use that to kill him. This plan falls apart because he forgets to figure in that Kouta has a sense of self-preservation unlike most {{All Loving Hero}}es and will use violence for self-defense.]]

* BreakTheCutie: Gets hit with this hard after [[spoiler:finding out that he unknowingly killed Yuya. He gets better.]]
* BreakTheHaughty: Doesn't even want to touch his Driver after a particularly bad beating by the hands of Zangetsu.

** In #29 Kouta makes a speech about how he would have never gotten as far as he did if he didn't trust his friends. [[spoiler: He's saying this to Zangetsu Shin II, who is secretly Micchy, the person he considers his best friend. The person who is abusing his trust to try and commit first degree murder.]]

* AntiVillain: He has been shown to have standards, loves his brother, is genuinely well-intentioned, and is the only member of the inner circle that hasn't gone out of his way to be a dick in some way.

* TheMessiah: Shows signs of this.

** He is also similar to [[VisualNovel/FateStayNight Shirou Emiya]]. Both of them are initially portrayed as inexperienced [[{{Determinator}} determinators]] who [[TookALevelInBadass took several levels in badass]] while having [[ChronicHeroSyndrome heroic tendencies]].

** By the time Helheim invades, he's asked whether [[spoiler:Kota]] used to be an ally, to which he replies that his allies are the ones who ''follow orders''. And after [[spoiler:Kota pulls ''another'' new Arms out of nowhere]], he's LaughingMad.

** And another in #33 after [[spoiler:Kota foils his plans again by pulling yet another powerup out of nowhere.]]

* TookALevelInBadass: Is in the middle of taking one, as [[spoiler:he took the bullet for Kouta and Oren in #25. The level is fully taken in #32, where he fought alongside other Riders against Deemushu and his horde of Inves. To further point it out, back nera the beginning of the series, Hideyasu had trouble even with minor, common Invess, but now he went up against stronger ones, among them a red Lion Invess, which was first seen when Kota had to use Jimber Lemon to fight it.]]

** As of #32, she can be compared to [[VisualNovel/FateStayNight Rider]], since both of them switched their loyalties to another Armored Rider/Master.

** Played straight in #26 where Mitsuzane, Kaito, and Minato manpipulate him to find the Overlords.

* BrainsAndBrawn: When working with Kouta, he's the Brains. While Kouta is a better fighter, Micchy is the one who comes up with the plans. Unfortunately, Micchy's conviction that he's the "smart one" leads him to become angry with Kouta when the latter doesn't go along with his plans.

* ForegoneConclusion: The opening scene of #1 implies that he will eventually ally with Takatora; this becomes true in #16.

** Eventually, it becomes clear that "their happiness" is really just an excuse for his own happiness and desires: for example, [[spoiler:he uses Inves to sabotage Mai's attempt to warn the city of Yggdrasill's plans due to his own desire to keep her out of the conflict, even though Mai wants to be involved and is trying to save innocent lives.]]
** [[spoiler: As of #33, he's joined forces with a rogue Overlord and personally leads the invasion of Earth, all for his own selfish desires.]]

* [[spoiler:{{Satan}}: Has some traits of this.]]

* LockedOutOfTheLoop: Mitsuzane is dead-set against telling Mai that Yuya's dead, preferring her to be happy and ignorant; and he's convinced Kouta to keep from telling her as well.

** She, along with Kouta, are this to Micchy, since one of his primary motivations is to keep them safe. [[spoiler:Unfortunatley, neither of them realize this, and Micchy degenerates into a ManipulativeBastard and PoisonousFriend as the series progresses.]]

* MissionControl: Downplayed. While not terribly important to the story, everyone is often seen eating or relaxing at Drupers.
