** Also, don't make fun of Palutena in his presence as his reactions range from shock to a very understandably all out rage. When Hades makes jokes or unhappy comments regarding Palutena, Pit understandably goes mad. It's better shown when Hades comments that Pit may have to kill his Goddess in the Chaos Kin Arc and Pit calmly yet in a rather scary tone tells Hades to shut up. Later on when he's performing the trials to obtain the Great Sacred Treasure, Dyntos puts Palutena to sleep and pits a copy of her against Pit. Pit suffice to say is not pleased at all and ends up calling Dyntos out for this act. Thankfully his concern about this copy being the real comes to an end when the copy shows 'her' real face resulting in Pit being happy that he chose to attack. His victory taunt also shows how unimpressed he is with Dyntos for making a copy of Palutena, Dyntos was probably just amused.

* ToHellAndBack: As mentioned above, his job pretty much takes him all over the world. From Skyworld, to the Overworld, to the Underworld, to outer space, and even different dimensions.

Against Pit, Thanatos fights the strongest fighter that Palutena has and continues fighting by alternating between different forms despite the continuous damage he sustains without slowing down. He then takes this even further when he fights Phosphora in Chapter 14 where his opponent is ''much'' faster than him and possibly just as powerful despite the the fact that he's a god and she isn't. To make up for a lack of speed to match, he appears to be absurdly durable as his fight against Phosphora lasts for nearly 80% of the entire air battle at the least and he just [[Determinator doesn't give up]]. Pit even comments that Thanatos is much faster than ever before and as it shows, the God of Death is able to keep pace with his opponent. In the end, the entire fight arguably worked out for Hades (being able to weaken the Forces of Nature by defeating their commander) since Thanatos can be revived by Hades, Phosphora is now at quite a disadvantage being heavily weakened since she has to retreat to recover. To put it forward, Thanatos fought Phosphora in an [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown intense match]] where they both fought with everything they had and he was just about the only counter that Phosphora possibly had at that point and managed to inflict enough damage to make the Forces of Nature weak enough to be defeated. Pit would later fight Phosphora when she was still critically weakened and not even at her best and win due to that factor although Phosphora knew that she wouldn't have the best time.

** It's more justified in ''Uprising'' since Pit is on of the three strongest characters in the series[[labelnote:*]]Hades exceeds him without the Great Sacred Treasure and Dyntos exceeds them both. Along with everything else in the series, apparently.[[/labelnote]] and Palutena is a GlassCannon at best. Brought to horrifying clarity during the Chaos Kin battle, where Pit can kill Palutena '''on accident''' because she was between him and the Chaos Kin.

* MultiMeleeMaster: In ''Uprising'', most of his clubs are used for melee attacks..

* PersonOfMassDestruction: A heroic and lighter example than most but still prevalent. Anyplace Pit enters will inevitably be destroyed. Lampshaded by Viridi in chapter 12.

* ParentalAbandonment: They were allegedly run over by Hades on accident, although it's unclear if that actually did happen.

* ForGreatJustice: He has a delivery, and its return address is '''JUSTICE'''!!! Subverted in the end, when it's revealed he plans to take control of the Aurum.

* SuperSentaiStance: He does one when he first fights Medusa in Uprising, [[SoBadItsGood and it]] [[SoCoolItsAwesome is awesome.]]

* {{Flower in Her Hair}}: A purple one, that matches the one on her dress, because {{Purple is Powerful}}!

* GenreSavvy: Very much so in ''Uprising,'' to the point where he kind of expects what happens next. And even when Magnus tells him not to open a chest because it's a trap, Pit simply says [[BreakingtheFourthWall he can't help himself.]]

** SimpleStaff: Staves have [[SniperRifle excellent range]], but [[CripplingOverspecialization are less-than-impressive at close range.

In ''Smash 4'', the others still actually call him "Dark Pit" when merely talking ''about'' him, but use "Pittoo" to his face, possibly to get a rise out of him (such as Pit greeting him in Dark Pit's codec conversation, and [[{{Troll}} Palutena's]] victory quote against him.) Even the crowd calls him Pittoo when cheering for him.

* EveryoneHasStandards: He's absolutely ''disgusted'' with both the Chaos Kin and Hades for desecrating and eating souls, explicitly describing Hades' usage of souls to create monsters as "the sickest thing [he's] ever heard.

* {{Foil}}: To Pit. The two are on opposite ends of the SlidingScaleOfIdealismVersusCynicism. Pit is the optimistic idealist who believes in the good of everyone, human and gods alike. Dark Pit, however, is fully aware that humans are bad and the gods are just as worse. Also, while Pit is extremely loyal to Palutena, Dark Pit holds no allegiance to anyone but himself.

* AttackDrones: The Orbitars, rotating robots that act as additional firepower for Pit.
