* LoveMakesYouEvil: While he was at least a half-decent guy, it's revealed later in Elan Platinus his loyalty falls to Kallen more than to Schicksal itself. [[WentCrazyWhenTheyLeft When Kallen died]], he, in disillusionment, decided to [[TheUsurper usurp the archbishop position from his father]] and then purge the ([[KickTheSonOfABitch admittedly corrupt]]) nobilities controlling Schicksal at the time so he can use the organization and its resources to [[SeeksAnothersResurrection bring Kallen back to life]].

* HiddenDepths: It's very easy to misunderstand Otto's motives and misjudge the depths of his mindscape. One might assume his TheUnfettered and WeHaveReserves attitude mean he has LackOfEmpathy and falls victim to EvilCannotComprehendGood, but Otto is very much capable of forming attachments to other people (even if it's nowhere as deeply as with Kallen), he simply cuts off and disregards them in favor of what he believes to be more important – Kallen. He is also aware he is far from good; he carries out his atrocities with all the certainty of a criminal who believes nothing can redeem him and no one can forgive him. His BlueAndOrangeMorality starts to make a lot more sense when one realizes he is operating on a CrazySane morality and rationality: he has done an unforgiveable crime of causing the death of a woman she loved, so he doesn't believe he has any goodness left in him and doesn't bother to justify his actions. Even if he does good, he attributes it to honoring the virtues "which Kallen stood for", and when he does evil, he attributes it to his own malice; at no point he acknowledges himself as a source of good or a hero. This extremely warped perception of himself is the other main reason (besides his ExcessiveMourning of Kallen's death and wishing to correct it) why he is a villain, and he knows it.

** This also translates into a lack of familiarity with some modern conveniences. She's utterly perplexed by computers and fancy phones, and prefers to pay for everything with cash as things such as ATMs and card-based purchasing leave her stumped.

* MostCommonSuperPower: Like the other S-rank Valkyries, she too is quite stacked in the chest area. The thing that makes her design stick out from the rest of them is that her model is just barely taller than Theresa's who is stuck looking like a 12-year-old, making them almost come across as ridiculously large whenever she's standing next to other characters.

* WeHaveReserves: He has an extremely callous disregard for anyone's life who isn't Kallen. He released a horde of Honkai Beasts to slaughter a town as a distraction in an attempt to save Kalle, proceeded to spend the next few centuries allowing his scientists perform fatal human experiments on kidnapped children (while he himself experiments on human cloning), and treats all Valkyries not named Theresa and Durandal as extremely disposable.

* CantKillYouStillNeedYou: In the ''2nd Eruption'' comic, Otto, while wearing a a mask and dressing himself in a white suit and top hat, interrupts Welt's finishing blow on Sirin, allowing Benares to snatch her away and escape to the Moon. He reasons that he still needs the Void Queen to completely awaken so his plan can come to fruition. When Siegfried arrives at the scene and starts trading blows with Otto, the Overseer gets pissed by his hotheaded behaviour, but ultimately decides to retreat since Siegfried is also a crucial part to his plan.

An A-rank Valkyrie and the final member of Squad Snowwolf during the 2nd Honkai War. Kira somehow became a Valkyrie by joining Schicksal under the belief that she was instead participating in a talent training show. She is Cecilia's self-proclaimed number one fan.

* SurvivorGuilt: As "Perfect Performance" shows, [[spoiler: her being the last living member of Squad Snowwolf weighs heavily on her mind more than 17 years later and that the root of her insecurities lie not only in her singing voice but also in her inability to save everyone.]]

* TheBadGuyWins: [[spoiler:The animated short "Thus Spoke Apocalypse" shows Otto reaching the Imaginary Tree and creating an alternate timeline where Kallen never died.]]

* YouRemindMeOfX: In ch. 6, which takes place in the "simulation" of the 2nd Honkai War, Cecilia says that it's such a coincidence that the playable Kiana shares the same name and appearance as her child. They would later bond like a real mother-and-daughter would, including Cecilia embracing Kiana and saying "Ich liebe dich". This is also referenced in the Dorm if you put Cecilia's chibi (from the "Reburn" stigmata set) with Kiana's. The twist is that [[spoiler:the playable Kiana is [[CloningBlues the clone of the real Kiana, called K-423]], which housed the Herrscher Core of the Void and with it, [[SoulJar Sirin's soul]] - who always wished for Cecilia's warm embrace again]].

He's first shown in-story in Chapter Everlasting Memory (Theresa's side story) which takes place around 40 years before the present, then in the main story in Chapter 5 where she monitors Kiana's adventures, before showing up more after Ch. 7. He also accompanies Fu Hua in her side story "The Forgotten".\\

Kiana's mother, Siegfried's wife and Theresa's close friend. She was an S-rank Valkyie and "the chosen one" of the Schariac family. Some time after mothering Kiana, she perished during the second Honkai War when Schicksal bombarded the area where she was facing the 2nd Herrscher, Sirin, killing them both. She appears in Chapters 5 and 6 in the "simulation" of the 2nd Honkai War.\\

She first appears in Chapter 8, meeting Fu Hua, before becoming a playable character and a boss in ch. 9.\\

* AffablyEvil: Rita's completely loyal to [[BigBad Otto]], works to prevent Theresa and the others from finding Kiana in the wake of the events of ch. 9, and has no qualms about killing. At the same time, she is always polite and courteous, since she's as much a maid as she is a Valkyrie. This is especially the case in the non-Story parts of the game, where she interacts with the Captain and the other Valkyries a lot more and the maid aspect of her character is heavily emphasized. \\

Susannah is a B-rank Valkyrie who is usually relegated to gruntwork tasks. She's eager to please, but is shy and gets very nervous around people she looks up to, and tends to judge herself very harshly.\\

Released as a playable character in version 6.5. Her battlesuit is Valkyrie Quicksand (SP QUA, Physical, Bleed). Her signature weapon is Twirling Glaze[[note]]pri-arm: Twirling Glaze: Lustrous Bloom[[/note]], a Chakram that pairs as swords in the same manner as Pardofelis.

The daughter of Fu Hua's seventh disciple Qin Suyi, and the central character of the Shattered Swords visual novel. She appears for the first time in game in chapter 26, currently working as Schicksal's third S-rank Valkyrie under Otto's payroll.\\

Becomes playable in version 6.1 as Jade Knight (S-rank, PSY-type, Ice). Her signature weapon is Nocturnal Stealth[[note]]pri-arm: Nocturnal Stealth: Beam[[/note]].

In-game, he's shown in Chapter 5, set in a "simulation of the past". There he met Theresa and Kiana, and later tries to attack Sirin with his "released" Judgment of Shamash, although he failed to do lasting damage and would've died from his own attack were it not for Cecilia saving him.\\

* AwesomenessByAnalysis: An interesting example because Susannah is usually quite ditzy but because of that she makes sure to note down anything and everything she notices in her notebook which reveal she's much more observant than she gives herself credit for. [[spoiler:Her notes are so meticulous that in Chapter 38 she is able to use them to calculate her exact location in the Sea of Quanta, something that is usually borderline impossible once you get lost in it.]]

* BoobsOfSteel: She's only behind Himeko in the bust department and she's a fearsome melee combatant who slices and dices with her scythe.
