A blonde-haired boy under Froyletia's command who joined the maintenance battalion so that he could become an Object Engineer. Despite being a civilian student attached to the unit, Qwenser is frequently on the front lines even though he can't carry a gun.

* AnguishedDeclarationOfLove: Qwenser confesses that he's "interested in" Milianda to stop an enemy terrorist faction from throwing suicide bombers at her. [[spoiler: It works.]]

* BreakThemByTalking: He's been on both ends of this. In episode 24 of the anime, he was on the receiving end from Honeysuckle, and pulled off a very effective ShutUpHannibal in response. In the lightnovel, when going up against MIB's Object, and listening to them proudly broadcast that the pilot is not an Elite (because the Object is so superior that it doesn't even need to move to win), he deliberately taunts and provokes the pilot into killing himself by doing maneuvers that only Elites can survive. Qwenser's best friend, Hevia is the heir to a noble family looking to make a name for himself in the military. Despite being listed as a radar analyst his skill with a rifle and role in defeating the Water Strider see him constantly assigned to the front lines.

* BigDamnHeroes: A lot of times, Qwenser barely gets away with his life cause Hevia either arrives just in time or he finishes the job Qwenser told him to do.
* BrainsAndBondage: He's fairly intelligent and outright admits to enjoying it when Froyletia beats him up.
* ChivalrousPervert: Just like Qwenser. He greatly appreciates the "female form" and will proclaim it loudly to anyone, and everyone.
* ColdSniper: Hevia has no issue shooting enemy soldiers and even shows little hesitation when it comes to shooting [[spoiler:a rogue Qwenser]].
* TheLancer: Whereas Qwenser is the expert in Objects, Hevia stands out in military combat. He's more down-to-earth in the battlefield, always analyzing the enemies positions to properly react and ensure their survival, but is more lecherous and easy going than Qwenser as well.
* LovableCoward: Downplayed in he's the more likely of the pair to call it quits if things look impossible. But he'll stick with Qwenser till the end.

* MrExposition: When it comes to the politics of nobles, Hevia's usually the one giving a detailed explanation. He also gets this sometimes with non-Object military tech as Qwenser is only interested in Objects.
* VitriolicBestBuds: With Qwenser.
* ScreamsLikeALittleGirl: When his fiance videochats him and sees the DVD cover of a porn he found and was watch, Hevia throws the cover off as he gives a ''very'' shrill scream.

!"Princess" Milinda Brantini

* ActionGirl: She's a skilled pilot who has racked up several Object kills, often with minimal or no help for Qwenser. She was captured twice in the first volume but both instances were calculated gambits to protect her fellow soldiers.
* ACupAngst: She's very insecure about her body image, and gets wildly jealous when someone with a bigger chest comes along, especially if Qwenser notices that girl. The only exception seems to be Froyletia, but that seems to be because Froyletia is her military commander and direct superior.

* TheBigGuy: As the Elite, Milinda has the biggest firepower out of the main cast usually. Usually Qwenser and Hevia weaken the enemy Object so Milinda can finish the job.

* ClingyJealousGirl: She has made it quite clear on several occasions that she doesn't like Qwenser mingling with other women, often by pointing the Baby Magnum's cannons at him. [[CluelessChickMagnet He still doesn't get it.]]
* CripplingOverspecialization: She can pilot the Baby Magnum, and that's it. Qwenser and Hevia usually have to make up the difference to give her the edge she needs to win.

* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Unlike most of the brass, who want Qwenser and Hevia dead, she will go out of her way to keep them alive, no matter how big a headache they give her, and she is more than happy to reward them well if they succeed better than expected. She is often seen "running interference" on their behalf.
* ShamelessFanserviceGirl: She is not above erotically showing off her "assets" to Qwenser and Hevia if it will "motivate" them into doing what she wants. She even engaged in a bit of pole-dancing on one occasion.

* TheTease: When she's not being a DrillSergeantNasty, she's this. It's how she keeps Qwenser and Hevia in line. Most of the other officers of the Legitimacy kingdom fail to realize this... Until the Lost Angels arc.
