Moving to YMMV Genius Bonus as Mythology Gag is specifically in-universe references to past works.

* MythologyGag:
** In ''Hades II'', she appears with weapons and white warpaint across her face - the same warpaint as Ares, which may be a reference to her lesser known Spartan aspect of Aphrodite Areia - the Warlike Aphrodite. Likewise, her weapon is shown to be a spear in reference to her epithet of Aphrodite Encheios.
** Several gods mention that even though Aphrodite looks young, she's actually a very old deity. This references the most popular version of her birth from the foam where Uranus' genitals fell after C(h)ronos castrated him, which would make her older than any of the Olympian gods, as well as the fact that she began as an adaptation of the Mesopotamian fertility goddess Inanna/Ishtar/Astarte, meaning her origins predate most of the Greek pantheon in general, not just the Olympians.

* OnlyFriend: If Zagreus gets close to her, she'll begin telling him stories of her adventures with Callisto the wood nymph, [[MythologyGag who can apparently shapeshift into a bear]]. However, there are some later implications that she and Callisto are more than just friends.

However, there are some later implications that she and Callisto are more than just friends.

* MythologyGag: Literally. If Zagreus gains enough favor with Dionysus, he will ask him if he is up for pulling a little prank on Orpheus. When Zagreus replies that he likes that idea, Dionysus asks if it wouldn't be funny if he told the musician a tall tale about how the two of them are in fact the same person. Zagreus then goes through with it, and Orpheus swallows it raw. In Myth/ClassicalMythology, Zagreus was Dionysus' name before he was dismembered and resurrected. This version of the story comes from the Orphic Mysteries, which was supposedly founded by Orpheus. Therefore, the real joke of this gag is the implication that Orpheus founded an entire religion based on a prank.

** Seemingly played more straight in ''Hades II'' as they all band together to stop Chronos and save the Underworld. Whoever's boon Melinoë picks, they express their grievances to her and earnestly tell her they'll do whatever they can to save their family. However, this could be the TeethClenchedTeamwork that results from a GodzillaThreshold; whatever petty grievances the Olympians may share amongst themselves, they pale in comparison to the return of the Titans.

** Zigzagged in ''Hades II''. She's one of the warmest Olympians to Melinoë, in no small part due to [[spoiler:Melinoë being her granddaughter and Demeter's grandmotherly relationship with Melinoë's brother, Zagreus.]] Demeter is one of the only Olympians to show genuine regret over attacking Melinoë if chosen second in a Trial of the Gods, trying to cool her temper around Melinoë .However, Demeter's indifference to mortals remains. She doesn't bother to remember the name of the mortal she loved and beared a child with years ago, only ever calling him a "mortal farm-boy". She also floats the idea of flooding the earth with Poseidon for the heck of it like a fun party trick instead of a cataclysmic event that could kill thousands of people who pray to her every day.
