Vision-wise, both girls form a FireIceDuo, with Ayaka being the Ice to Yoimiya's Fire; personality-wise, Ayaka is gentle and demure, while Yoimiya is cheerful and energetic; clothing-wise, Ayaka wears a conservative outfit resembling a BattleBallgown, while Yoimiya's is more revealing; accent-wise in the Japanese dub, Ayaka speaks in [[FormalCharactersUseKeigo keigo]] to denote her noblewoman status, whereas Yoimiya speaks in a more down-to-earth Kansai dialect; and combat-wise, Ayaka is graceful and dexterous, while Yoimiya is rapid and explosive.

* ElegantGothicLolita: Her Springbloom Missive outfit evokes a classic/vintage lolita style with downplayed frills visibile on her skirt and neck collar, a waist ribbon on her back, [[ProperTightsWithASkirt white pantyhose]], a pair of brown high-heeled boots, and a sunflower hat. The main dress is also a mirrored western version of her original Japanese-inspired outfit while still maintaining the oriental design characteristics of the latter, such as the Kamisato Clan emblems and the dangling oriental ropes on her waist ribbon.

** According to Itto, Ayato regularly plays trading card games and beetle fights with him. While Ayato isn't as enthusiastic about the beetle fights, he still is fond of Genius Invokation TCG, to the point he sent Itto a limited edition set for his festival.

* GameplayAndStorySegregation: One of missions in Windblume's Breath limited-time event in 3.5 required taking a photo with a playable Mondstadter; due to having an Inazuman Vision, the game [[https://www.reddit.com/r/Genshin_Impact/comments/11h8chh/not_cool_game_not_cool/ would not to recognize him as one]].

* GrewASpine: In Ayato's Story Quest, after spending much of the quest plagued with doubt and resigning herself to the whims of Matsuura and others, the last part sees her standing firm, giving Matsuura a major dressing down for his plotting and the results of it before demanding that he and his clan take responsbility for their actions.

By contrast, Itto considers her a rival, Miko tolerates her at best, Kirara thinks she's a bit intimidating, both Thoma and Ayaka find her dour and inflexible, Ayato compares her to a living weapon created by her adoptive father Takayuki, Kazuha strongly disapproves of her enactment of repressive decrees in the name of the Shogunate, and Kokomi [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking opines that she rarely employs a cunning strategy in the battlefield]]. The [[DamnedByFaintPraise one positive thing]] Sara gets from most of them (and Gorou and Yoimiya) is that, at the very least, she has a strong moral compass compared to her corrupt adoptive father.

* TheRival: Itto considers her as this after the events of the Vision Hunt Decree. Although he did take his loss well, Itto has insisted on getting a rematch with Sara multiple times through the bulletin boards. Notably, one interaction at Ritou's board shows she has stooped to Itto's level and bickered with him through the board.

** As for Takayuki, she acknowledges he doesn't see her as his daughter unlike her adoptive brother Kamaji, but nevertheless follows him all the same out of respect. [[spoiler:This loyalty is put to the test when it's revealed that he is directly colluding with the Fatui, wherein he permitted them to deceive the Shogun while feeling no need to tell Sara. She furiously chews him out on this and tries to SetRightWhatOnceWentWrong by [[CurbStompBattle (uselessly)]] fighting La Signora.]]

* TykeBomb: Although a rather lazy one. As stated by Ayato, most members of the Shuumatsuban (who deal with espionage, combat, and assassinations) are orphans who were taken in and raised from a young age in order to guarantee loyalty to the greatest extent possible, and Sayu has been raised in the Shuumatsuban since she was a child, and is extremely loyal to the organization in spite of her slacker tendencies.

* UnseenNoLonger: He finally appears physically in Sumeru City, ostensibly as a foreign attaché.

* MauveShirt: He may not have a speaking role, but he is well known for his incredible endurance, as shown where, despite having just lost a swordfight match with the Traveler, he is able to {{Curb Stomp|Battle}} not just one, not just two, but ''three'' infantrymen with no problem. Unfortunately, he goes up against the likes of [[MasterSwordsman Kazuha]] and lost his life.
* NumberTwo: He is Sara's second in command.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: He only shows up in one scene as Sara's right hand. He is defeated in battle by [[TheHero Traveler]] and then killed in action by Kazuha in a cutscene.

* TheBrute: Goemon. When he and Kinoshita are accosting a Vision holder, Goemon is the one who orders him to surrender his Vision to them.
* {{Jerkass}}: From what we see of them in their debut, they are seen harassing an innocent townsfolk into handing over his (fake) Vision. And later inside the police station, Kinoshita (alongside with another Doushin) tortures Masakatsu when he found out that he is making a counterfeit Vision. When the Traveler interacts with Goemon alone inside the Tenryou HQ, he is shown to be an ArrogantKungFuGuy who is dismissive towards them at best (although he at least has some [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold grudging]] [[StrengthEqualsWorthiness respect]] when he notices that they are an incredible swordsmen too).

Especially when he claims to have wanted to meet them since before they even arrived in Inazuma, and calling them “dreamy” in a swooning tone. Furthermore, a considerable amount of the dialogue choices available in almost all paths tend to give a heart of approval.

* ShipTease: Ayaka's Story Quest, playable-voice-overs and other interactions make it very clear she's developed feelings for the Traveler ([[AmbiguouslyBi regardless if the Traveler is Aether or Lumine]]), as well as showing a few opportunities to suggest it's not unrequited.

* InformedAttribute: His blonde hair is apparently a mysterious outlier among Inazumans according to the v2.0 livestream, despite Inazuma alone also having human characters [[{{Mukokuseki}} with pink hair, white hair, blue hair, and even another blonde]], and all except Thoma are considered {{Unusually Uninteresting Sight}}s. It could be argued that these are cases of HairColorDissonance. The official account later reveals in Thoma's character introduction that [[https://www.hoyolab.com/genshin/article/782370 Thoma is Mondstadtian by way of his mother]].

* PowerStereotypeFlip: Unusually for a [[AnIcePerson Cryo]] Vision holder, Ayaka is quite the NiceGirl, and is much more open with her feelings than people would like to think she is.

* WithGreatPowerComesGreatPerks: Part of Sayu's gratefulness for her vision is because it allows her to wield heavier weaponry, like her claymore.

* EmpoweredBadassNormal: Sayu was already a pretty capable {{ninja}} with all the perks of one, but the reason why she is able to wield her claymore to begin with is thanks to her Vision.

* {{Ninja}}: The Shuumatsuban are all stated to be practitioners of ninjutsu, specializing in espionage and close combat, and Sayu is one of the clan's current active members. She showcases this well, with arts that allow her to hide, move fast, toy with the opponent, hit hard with her [[{{BFS}} monster of a sword]] and many more (even if only a few of these skills are used gameplay-wise).

* WeaponSpecialization: Promotional material has her wielding the Debate Club (3★). Aesthetics-wise, it fits her, as the weapon resembles a ''[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kanab%C5%8D kanabō]]'', a studded war club historically used by the samurai and associated with the oni in Myth/JapaneseMythology. Gameplay-wise, it allows her to continue dealing wide-ranging attacks even without Swirl reactions through its Ascension substat of Attack (7.7–35.2%), and whose "Blunt Conclusion" passive allows its wielder to deal additional, wide-ranging damage equivalent to 60–120% of their Attack stat within fifteen seconds after using their Elemental Skill, activated at least every three seconds.

* MsFanservice: Downplayed compared to other characters, but still there. Between her ample bosom, ''bare'' legs for days, [[StatuesqueStunner tall height]], and her skin-tight outfit which emphasizes the other traits, Sara was clearly designed to be attractive.

* WeaponSpecialization: She is shown using a Hamayumi in her story appearances. Gameplay-wise, it is suited for Sara's pure offensive style, with an Attack percentage substat that can reach 55.1% at Level 90, and whose "Full Draw" passive, at its fifth and final refinement, increases the potency of her normal and charged attacks by, respectively, 32% and 24%, with an extra 100% boost to either if she has full Energy.

* WeaponSpecialization: During her Character quest she wields a Mistsplitter Reforged, but in all other promotional material uses Amenoma Kageuchi, an Inazuman sword shaped like a katana.
** The former's substat of Critical Damage (to a maximum of 44.1% at Level 90) makes it geared towards Ayaka's natural growth in the same stat, complemented by the "Mistplitter's Edge" passive which, at its fifth and final refinement, adds a 24% bonus to all kinds of elemental damage and bestows up to three stacks of "Mistsplitter's Emblem" that add a 16/32/56% damage boost to the wielder's innate element (i.e., Cryo for Ayaka) whenever her normal attacks deal elemental damage, she casts her Elemental Burst, or while her Energy is not full (the former two stack conditions last five and ten seconds, respectively). * LeotardOfPower: Sara's outfit includes a black skintight leotard that highlights her BoobsOfSteel and does little to cover her legs.

* MsFanservice: Downplayed compared to other characters, but still there. Between her [[BoobsOfSteel ample bosom]], ''bare'' legs for days, [[StatuesqueStunner tall height]], and her skin-tight outfit which emphasizes the other traits, Sara was clearly designed to be attractive.

* StatuesqueStunner: At the time of her release, Sara is the tallest playable female character, largely due to the ''geta'' sandals she wears, and between her [[BoobsOfSteel impressive bust]] and long legs, she has quite the figure to go with her height. In Itto's Character Demo, he flirts with her when they met during the Vision Hunt Decree. He's less appreciative after losing to her, though.

* OddNameOut: Unlike the other important Inazuma characters (except Gorou), Thoma's name in Japanese is spelled with katakana (トーマ) rather than kanji, which is usually how foreigner names are spelled. His name in the English localization also has an odd spelling and seems Anglicized, as the romaji for his name is "Tōma" (via Hepburn romanization), which can also be spelt as "Tohma" or "Touma." Additionally, the Chinese characters used for his name (simplified 托馬, traditional 托马, pinyin "Tuōmǎ") are used to transliterate "Thomas," which is excactly used for the French localization.

* DubNameChange: In the Chinese dub, per AlternateCharacterReading with pinyin, her name is Zǎoyòu.

Thoma's experience as retainer is reflected in his defensive combat style, wherein he generates "Blazing Barriers" which absorb damage (especially Pyro) and whose resilience can be stacked whenever a new Barrier is set up, through his Elemental Skill and Burst--directly through the former, ''Blazing Blessing'', a flying somersault which additionally bestows his attacks a temporary Pyro infusion; and indirectly through the latter, ''Crimson Ooyoroi'', a spinning slash that endows the active character with "Scorching Ooyoroi," which periodically augments normal attacks with ''Fiery Collapse'', a wide-ranging Pyro blast that also generates the Barriers whenever they connect.\\

The next time Heizou and his ex-friend met, during the following year's festival, the latter was fatally wounded after a failed attempt to rob an armed ruffian, dying while Heizou tried in vain to save him. Shocked by the injustices around him, Heizou developed an animosity towards the concept of sin, blaming it for ruining his friendship, after which he left home for a month to train himself to be a fighter for justice, during which time he earned his Anemo Vision.]]
