* DontCelebrateJustYet: [[spoiler: Halfway in "Headshot", Boyfriend celebrates by posing a VSign, but Evil Pico takes that opportunity as a chance to have Boyfriend shot. Although Boyfriend protects his head with hand, he gets his health drained in the fight.]]

* CerebusCallBack: Back in ''VideoGame/FridayNightFunkin'', Boyfriend sings a string of notes in the tutorial, which acts as an easter egg to throw off new players. In "Deathmatch", Evil Boyfriend sings the same string of notes as a way to flaunt his victory over Daddy Dearest.
* CruelMercy: [[spoiler: The Corruption's dialog in "Discharge", has it state that it kept Boyfriend alive because of the latter's loyalty and how his life is owed to the Corruption.]]
* CurbStompBattle: With the exception of Pico and Senpai, Evil Boyfriend has easily dominated Skid and Daddy Dearest in their weeks.
** For Skid, he lacks any notable abilities or skills that can help him beat Evil Boyfriend in a rap battle. Along with Skid being outnumbered by three corrupted opponents, Evil Boyfriend easily overpowers and corrupts Skid in the week. "Chiller" in particular has easier note patterns for Evil Boyfriend to sing, practically giving him an easy victory against Skid.
** Daddy Dearest at first is doing quite well in fighting back Evil Boyfriend and can actually keep up the entire army of Corruption victims. Unfortunately for Daddy Dearest, having to face Mommy Mearest among the horde proves to be too much for him. Once Daddy Dearest crossed the DespairEventHorizon, Evil Boyfriend easily beat Daddy Dearest in the second half of "Deathmatch".

* FlunkyBoss: Downplayed. The other corrupted victims that Evil Boyfriend uses to fight Daddy Dearest aren't minions, but bosses themselves. Despite being bosses, it is clear that Evil Boyfriend is the one taking the lead and sings the most in rap battling Daddy Dearest in "Deathmatch".

* InvincibleVillain: As Evil Boyfriend, he is portrayed as an InvincibleVillain that can defeat any uncorrupted victim that chooses to oppose him. While Pico got close to uncorrupting him, Evil Boyfriend reverts back into his completely corrupted state in the last song and gets Pico corrupted by the end of their fight. Despite Senpai and Spirit's attempts to kill him, Evil Boyfriend successfully transfers his soul inside their game, eventually acquiring the admin commands to delete them. Although Daddy Dearest was indeed stronger than him, Evil Mommy Mearest is what breaks his will to fight forward, allowing Evil Boyfriend to overpower the last victim. Soon after the Corruption of Daddy Dearest, Evil Boyfriend is proven to be NotSoInvincibleAfterAll, with Boyfriend making his appearance to take regain control of his body once again.
* KarmaHoudiniWarranty: Evil Boyfriend is constantly dominating all of the characters who have attempted to resist his corruption or have tried to free him. In the end of all his battles, Evil Boyfriend emerges victorious and is never punished for his actions. Not even Daddy Dearest, the last victim is enough to stop his rampage. [[spoiler: Thankfully, Evil Boyfriend gets what's coming to him, with Boyfriend awakened from his mind to confront the Corruption possessing him. Boyfriend and Soul Boyfriend's rocking is successful in eliminating all of the Corruption in their body, thereby preventing Evil Boyfriend from reigning free on their body.]]

Upon first appearing, he and Girlfriend are shown to be fighting off Pico as their first victim to corrupt. Boyfriend rather than battle his opponents to prove himself worthy for Girlfriend, is now instead rapping his foes as a way to have them infected with the Corruption.
