* ThePromise: She made one [[spoiler:with the Kotori Obake]] to [[spoiler:protect Suga from her]].

* ThePromise: He is indicated to have made one with the Kotori Obake, although the details are not clear.
* ShooTheDog: He tries to be mean to Shiori so that she will leave the village and not fall victim to the Kotori Obake or remember the [[DealWithTheDevil promise]] she made with her.

* SinsOfOurFathers: Is the last known descendant of the first Ogami-san, which gets him the contempt of the Kotori Obake.
* TheSpeechless: Due to the [[DealWithTheDevil promise]] he made with the Kotori Obake, he lost the use of his vocal chords, and writes on his memos to communicate. He does manage to call Shiori “Shii-chan” in the GoldenEnding, but goes back to his memos afterwards.

* BigDamnHeroes: In every ending, she and Mochizuki [[spoiler:open the well and rescue Shiori (and Suga, if he is with her) just when the Kotori Obake and/or the Child spirits are after them]].

The forest spirit who serves as the primary antagonist. She makes promises with children who enter the forest, then absorbs them inside her when they fulfill their promise.

* TragicMonster: She lost her whole family to the first Ogami-san, then was locked up and raped by him for years. When she finally became a {{Youkai}}, she had gone insane, and her murdering of children is a severely misguided attempt to find children to replace hers.
* VengeanceFeelsEmpty: Is completely obsessed with avenging her family and her cruel fate even though Ogami-san is long gone. In the 2022 remake the White Child says that no matter how much she tortures the Ogami-san's descendants and absorbs children, she'll never be satisfied.

* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: Back when she was an ordinary woman, [[GreaterScopeVillain the first Ogami-san]] had [[{{Yandere}} fallen in lust]] with her, [[MaliciousSlander tricked the village]] into viewing her as a monster, had her husband, child, and unborn baby killed, and kept her imprisoned as his personal plaything. This caused her to go insane and turned her into an evil {{Youkai}} who kills children to fill the void left by her own lost children.

The “children” of the Kotori Obake. Made up of both the people inside the dungeon who the Obake killed and the various children who were victimized by the Obake, they serve as her minions.

* UndeadChild: They are the spirits of the children who were warped by the Kotori Obake into becoming her “children”.

The son of the Kotori Obake. He was murdered by the first Ogami-san prior to the events of the game, and is repeatedly encountered as a white spirit who wishes to reunite with his mom.

** In Ending 3, when the spirits of the dead children tear the Kotori Obake apart, he tries to save her only to be killed by them as well.
** In Ending 1, Shiori and Suga are forced to use the glowstone to ward off the spirits of the dead children. The White Child is aware this not only will result in the Kotori Obake and the ghost children forgetting about their grudges, but she and him will forget about each other. All he can do is to wish to be reunited with his mother in the next life.

* SuitWithVestedInterests: He wants to shut down the museum/old mansion in order to make way for new developments, and dismisses Suga-san's desire to keep it open as clinging to silly superstitions and the old ways. He also calls the Kotori Obake and Ogami-san bogus tales -- specifically dismissing the latter since the Ogami-san used to be well respected in the village.

The first of the Ogami-san line, a generational line of heroes who protect Azakawa Village from the Kotori Obake. Though revered as a hero, he is in fact the one who indirectly created the Kotori Obake.

* GreaterScopeVillain: He is the one responsible for turning the Kotori Obake into an evil {{Youkai}}, as he killed her family, falsely accused her of crimes, then imprisoned and raped her.
* MoreHateableMinorVillain: He is the GreaterScopeVillain responsible for turning an innocent woman into the [[BigBad Kotori Obake]], as he had her imprisoned on false charges, killed her whole family, and raped her. This marks him as far more hatable than the Obake herself, who is a TragicMonster.
* PosthumousCharacter: He is dead as of the actual story, but his creation of the Kotori Obake remains.
* RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil: His rape of the woman who would become the Kotori Obake marks him as a total scumbag.
* VillainousIncest: According to [[http://tosiaki7.blogspot.com/2014/01/selected-translations-from-stardust.html?m=1 these notes]], the Kotori Obake, whom he raped and tortured, is his sister by blood.
* VillainWithGoodPublicity: The whole village reveres him as a hero, both back when he was alive and in the present day. However, he was really a tyrant who [[SinsOfOurFathers had the wives and children of criminals sold into sexual slavery]], and the Kotori Obake was one of his many victims.
* WalkingSpoiler: He is portrayed in the picture book as a hero of old and the BigGood- his true nature as the GreaterScopeVillain is not revealed until the end.
* WouldHurtAChild: He made even children into his slaves and would murder them when they became inconvenient. The son and unborn child of the Kotori Obake were two such victims.
* {{Yandere}}: He lusted after the Kotori Obake souls much that he slaughtered her whole family to get to her.

* {{Jerkass}}: In his one scene, he establishes himself as a jerk by needlessly antagonizing Suga, Sakuma, and Shiori, and he represents a group that intends to tear down the museum to make way for new developments. In the 2022 even after his plan is cancelled, he decides to find other ways to get profit.

* HeelFaceTurn: The 2022 remake reveals his plan to demolish the museum failed because the buyers realized it was in the middle of nowhere. He's okay with this, and admits he's come to love the village.
* {{Jerkass}}: In his one scene, he establishes himself as a jerk by needlessly antagonizing Suga, Sakuma, and Shiori, and he represents a group that intends to tear down the museum to make way for new developments.

* TookALevelInKindness: In the 2022 remake after his buyers call off their contract, he decides to quit his white-collar job and start a new life in the village, admitting he's come to love the place.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: In the Bonus Scenario in the 2022 remake, even though he's regained his voice, he hasn't talked in 10 years and he's pretty shy himself, he's more comfortable using memos.

* MoreHateableMinorVillain: He only appears in one scene near the beginning, but establishes himself as a SmugSnake nonetheless. In said scene, he informs Suga, the manager of the local museum, that the government plans to demolish the museum to make room for land development. He proceeds to be rude and disrespectful to Suga, outright telling him he does not care if Suga ends up jobless, then when Sakuma objects, he tells her that her father would support the demolishment. Finally, when Shiori tells him that she is the heir to the museum and can shut him down, he rudely expresses disbelief before storming out in a huff.

* SmugSnake: He wants to get rid of the museum and is nothing but unpleasant, telling Suga that he doesn't care if that leaves him without a place to live.

* HateSink: In his one scene, he establishes himself as a jerk by needlessly antagonizing Suga, Sakuma, and Shiori, and he represents a group that intends to tear down the museum to make way for new developments.
