The Divine Dragon [[SheIsTheKing [[AmbigiousGender King]] and protector of humanity, although an aloof and distant one. Over the course of the histories of Archanea and Jugdral, she did battle with degenerated dragons, in particular the Earth Dragon tribe, among them tribe. Naga's appointed guardian of the Table, Medeus and is an antagonist in the Archanea games, while Loptyr, and the Fell Dragon Grima, are both said to be her Naga's archrival.

There may be more then one Naga as it is the title held by any ruler of the Naga drragon Clan.

* AmbiguousGender: In-universe -- with the exception of her appearance before the Twelve Crusaders at the Miracle of Darna, she is universally assumed to be male by her religious followers. The same applied out-of-universe too until ''Awakening'', where she turns out to be definitively female. The BigBad of ''[[VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening Awakening]]''. The Fell Dragon who tried to destroy the world in ancient times, but was sealed away by the one with the Divine Dragon's blessing. While the Ylisseans fear the Fell Dragon, the Grimleal who control Plegia worship him as their god. According to legend, Grima is gigantic in size. A thousand years later, Grima is awakened when a suitable vessel is born and the Awakening Ritual is performed. This vessel turns out to be the Avatar (aka you - the player), and in the BadFuture, Validar succeeds in awakening Grima, who possesses the Avatar and kills Chrom. In the main story, the present Grima is revived once the Grima from the bad future uses his host Avatar body as a substitute for the real Avatar's, and the two fight Chrom and his army. The possessed body Grima uses is referred to as the Hierophant.

In ''[[VideoGame/FireEmblemGaiden Shadows of Valentia]]'', a young Grima appears as the boss of Chapter 6, and what it is is finally revealed. An alchemist named Forneus sought to do two things: the reanimation of corpses into obedient soldiers and creation of perfect life. Through the mixture of the blood of a Divine Dragon and the alchemist, and potentially a Dracozombie and Risen Bugs, brand new life was created - Grima. Alm and Celica travel to the underground Labyrinth in Thabes where Grima lives and seal him, though his return is a foregone conclusion.

* GrandTheftMe: Possesses the Avatar of the Future, and tries to possess the Avatar of the present.
* HeroKiller: Personally kills Chrom, Naga's mark holder, in the future while possessing the Avatar's body.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: If you choose to kill it, instead of letting Chrom do it.
* IAmTheNoun: In the final battle, when Chrom declares that he has come to end Grima, he responds "ARROGANT MORTAL... I AM THE END!"
* {{Kaiju}}: Definitely one of the biggest creatures ever seen in a ''Fire Emblem'' game. For comparison's sake, its wingspan completely encompasses Ylisstol and it itself dwarfs the royal castle. Lucina can't even come to the size of one of its ''eyeballs''. If its appearance on the world-map can be taken literally, it's ''country-sized'', with the entire final battle taking place on its back, specifically around the nape of the neck.
* KillAllHumans: Grima seeks to completely wipe out humanity.
* LevelsTakeFlight: He is the final level of ''Awakening''. Not just the boss, the entire level.
* LastOfItsKind: The ''Knights of Iris'' book speculates he possibly descended from the [[DishingOutDirt Earth Dragons]]. [[spoiler:He might've been created through an Earth Dragon's corpse, but otherwise he isn't.]]
* MakeWrongWhatOnceWentRight: More like Make Wrong What ''Just'' Went Right, since things went in his favor the first time around.
%%* ManBehindTheMan: To Validar.
* MeaningfulName: The localized name, "Grima", is a name that can link to the word "grim", and it can also mean "mask" or "spectre" in Old English. All those meanings are very fitting for this Grima.
%%* MeetTheNewBoss: Is pretty blatant clone of Medeus, being another Earth Dragon served by an evil wizard.
* MindControl: When it came back from the future, he immediately sought after the present-day Avatar, attempting to take control of their body. It fails, but leaves the Avatar with no memories save for Grima's visions of Chrom's fateful death.
* MirrorBoss: One of the very few enemies who has the Ignis ability, which can otherwise only be obtained by the Avatar and his/her children.
* NearVillainVictory: In Lucina's timeline, Grima's resurrection was [[BadFuture game, set, and match]] due to Chrom being dead and the Avatar being his vessel. History ''almost'' repeated itself in the present timeline, but the Avatar's savviness saves them both and gives them a fighting chance against the resurrected Grima.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: Hey, Grima, guess what? The human family which you imbued with your blood has finally bred a suitable vessel for you! Awesome, right? Well, it turns out that the link you two share means that your vessel -- the one ''you're'' ultimately responsible for the existence of -- is also the only person who can kill you for good. Oh, and it turns out that your ReligionOfEvil scared your vessel's mother enough for her to make off with her baby and ultimately make it so that s/he will become great friends with Marth's descendants.
** In addition, Future Grima really messed up by following Lucina into the past. His attempt to merge with the Avatar early inflicted amnesia on them (which likely allowed the Avatar to form stronger bonds with Chrom's group), gave the Avatar memories that allowed them to make the fake gemstone plan, and his being in the past allowed for a loophole that could get him Killed Off for Real.
** The truly beautiful part of all this is that Grima went back in time only to ensure his revival, not knowing how TimeTravel works in the ''FireEmblem'' verse (more Manga/{{Dragonball Z}} multiverse than Film/BackToTheFuture). He could've sat back and whether Lucina succeeded or failed, he wouldn't be affected in the slightest. In trying to ensure his survival, he put himself in the only possible position to be killed, for no reason. It's not the bonds of the Shepherds that screwed Grima, Grima screwed Grima!
* NighInvulnerability: Only Grima's own power can truly kill him. Gameplay-wise, in ''Awakening'' he possesses the "Dragonskin" skill, which reduces all damage by half. At the hardest difficulty, he also has Pavise+, ''further halving physical damage'', and is probably ''the'' most resilient boss in ''Fire Emblem'' history. [[spoiler:In ''Shadows of Valentia'', he retains the Dragonskin skill, and also gains the God skill, so only certain weapons can damage him when he's at low HP.]]
* NintendoHard: Especially in Lunatic+ of the main game or Lunatic in the Future Past arc. Ignis, Pavise+, Dragonskin, and Rightful God in the former; Aegis, Dragonskin, Hawkeye, Pavise, and Rightful God in the latter. Very deserving of the FinalBoss role.
* NoManOfWomanBorn:
** When the Avatar successfully fights off Grima's control and doesn't become present Grima's vessel, BadFuture Grima uses his Bad Future Avatar body in his place to revive the present Grima and hold him together.
** Also a victim of this; Grima can only be permanently destroyed with his own power. The Avatar, who is connected to him, is capable of using that power. [[KilledOffForReal Grima realizes this too late.]]
* NonIndicativeName: In Japanese, at least. No matter whether you go by [[Literature/LordOfTheRings Tolkien]] or Myth/NorseMythology, Gimle is simply not a demonic name[[note]](in the former, it's an alternate spelling of the name of an unambiguously heroic dwarf, and in the latter, it's described as essentially the Norse equivalent of heaven, where righteous souls go after they die)[[/note]]. This is probably why the US and European versions went with "Grima" (the name of a [[TreacherousAdvisor more sinister Tolkien character]]) instead.
* ObviouslyEvil: Black skin, {{red eyes|TakeWarning}}... yep, Grima's evil.
* OmnicidalManiac: As his description states he states to bring the world's end.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: Unlike the likes of Tiki, this one is a gigantic [[CardCarryingVillain self proclaimed]] evil dragon that wants to end all of humanity. [[spoiler:It also wasn't born, but was created through alchemy.]]
%%* OurHomunculiAreDifferent: [[spoiler:As a entity created through alchemy, Grima technically qualifies as a Homunculus.]]
* PersonOfMassDestruction: It was capable of defeating Chrom's entire army ''with a single spell'' before Naga interfered.
* PhysicalGod: Not quite. Naga admits that for all the power she and Grima have, they aren't ''really'' gods. Grima, on the other hand, [[AGodAmI fully declares its godhood]] and will smite anyone who tries to say differently.
* PsychicAssistedSuicide: Future Grima takes control of the Grimleal in a ritual making them sacrifice themselves at the Dragon's Table.
* {{Pride}}: As a Dragon, Grima has displayed a superiority complex and always looked down on humanity, especially when he rules in Lucina's BadFuture timeline, confident in his superiority and their inability to kill him, [[NighInvulnerable for admittedly good reason]].
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Delivers this to Lucina in the BadFuture and to Avatar in the final chapter.
* ReminiscingAboutYourVictims: In the Future Past, Grima tells survivors about how he killed their parents.
--> '''Grima''': Heh. You know, the man/woman who used to control this body loved your father. He/she would have died to protect Chrom.
--> '''Grima''': You're less than a shadow of your mother. If I could break her, then I'll have no trouble breaking you.
* {{Sadist}}: In the BadFuture, Grima mocks his victims over killing their loved ones and talks about how he enjoys seeing humans in pain.
* ShadowDictator: While Validar is the official ruler of Plegia after Gangrel's passing, he is subservient to the Hierophant.
* SingleSpecimenSpecies: Grima is the only Fell Dragon to exist.
* SuddenlyVoiced: In Lucina's flashback in chapter 21, one of the most chilling scenes in the game, we see that Grima can speak even without the Hierophant as a mouthpiece.
--> '''Grima''': [[EverybodysDeadDave Your mother and father... are dead, tiny one.]] [[EvilLaugh Heh heh heh heh ha ha ha ha... hahahahahaha!]] And now it is your turn... to DIE!\\
'''Lucina''': ''(blood-curdling scream)''
* SuperToughness: Has a skill called "Dragonskin" that grants them this, halving damage and negating the Counter and Lethality skills.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: Of both [[VideoGame/FireEmblemJugdral Loptyr]], and Medeus.
* UltimateLifeForm: [[spoiler:Created to be the perfect life form by an alchemist. Given that the only way for Grima to be killed is through the use of his own power, it seems that he was successful.]]
* TheUnfought: Grima himself is never fought in ''Awakening'', only the future Grima in the Hierophants body is battled.
* VillainOverride: Attempts this on the Avatar after following Lucina back in time in order to accelerate its plans. It fails due to the present-day Avatar's weaker Heart of Grima being unable to retain the massive number of memories, causing the Avatar's amnesia and Grima's own power to greatly weaken.
* VillainousBreakdown: When it is unable to take over the Avatar's mind thanks to the encouragement of their friends (and family if they get married), and when it gets defeated in the final chapter. It gets worse once it realizes that the Avatar has the ability to kill it once and for all.
* WeCanRuleTogether: Offers this to the Avatar in the final battle; to join them and become a god.
* WhatMeasureIsANonCute: Naga, its GoodCounterpart, appears as a cute majestic dragon with a Manakete form. Grima, being pure evil, is a crocodile-looking dragon with no Manakete form.

Well, it turns out that the link you two share means that your vessel -- the one ''you're'' ultimately responsible for the existence
briny beard of -- is also the only person who can kill you for good.
* NoManOfWomanBorn:
* ObviouslyEvil: Black skin, {{red eyes|TakeWarning}}... yep, Grima's evil.

The Deadlords are a collection of 12 warriors introduced in ''[[VideoGame/FireEmblemGenealogyOfTheHolyWar Genealogy of the Holy War]]'', named Mus, Bovis, Tigris, Lepus, Draco, Anguilla, Equus, Ovis, Simia, Gallus, Canis, and Porcus. They once served the Lopto Empire, and later served the empire's remnants, the Lopto Sect. Very little info is given about them in ''Genealogy'' (they show up for the FinalBoss fight with no explanation), though ''[[VideoGame/FireEmblemThracia776 Thracia 776]]'' explains that they're basically zombies created by the Lopto Sect killing people and corrupting/reanimating their corpses.

In ''[[VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening Awakening]]'', the Deadlords are reincarnated by Validar and Aversa of the Grimleal, and some of them are equipped with the Holy Weapons of the Twelve Crusaders. They are deployed under Aversa's command in Chapter 22 to help defeat Chrom, but again fail and are slain. They appear one last time in the ''Infinite Regalia'' DLC, now 36 in number, where they claim to have fallen in a battle with the fate at the world at stake. It is heavily implied that these Deadlords are in fact the parents from ''Awakening'''s BadFuture, with a ''Fire Emblem Cipher'' card stops exactly short of confirming this.

The Fell Dragon
who is mentioned briefly in several games, primarily tried to destroy the ones taking place world in Archanea ancient times, but was sealed away by the one with the Divine Dragon's blessing. While the Ylisseans fear the Fell Dragon, the Grimleal who control Plegia worship him as their god. According to legend, Grima is gigantic in size. A thousand years later, Grima is awakened when a suitable vessel is born and Tellius, the Awakening Ritual is performed.

[[spoiler:In ''Shadows of Valentia'', a young Grima

* DressedToPlunder: As a "patron saint" of pirates, he has a pegleg, which Gomer swore on, and a hook hand according to one of the stories Ricken read in his support with Olivia.
* TheGhost: Only mentioned by pirate [=NPC=]s throughout the series, and in support conversations several times in ''VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening''.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Though it's quite possible that Anna made it up on the spot given that she was desperately trying to appease a very angry Tiki at the time, apparently this guy founded an orphanage.
* SeaDogBeard: Nedata swears by the briny beard of Shanty Pete.

to:

* DressedToPlunder: As AchillesHeel: If future Grima is defeated, both Grimas can be sealed, or even killed.
* AGodAmI: Naga insists that they aren't quite gods, but Grima seems to feel otherwise.
* AlchemyIsMagic: [[spoiler:Grima was created through alchemy, so evidently.]]
* AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever: Only ''VideoGame/AsurasWrath'' bosses or Cronos from ''VideoGame/GodOfWarIII'' could possibly rival him in sheer size. For
a "patron saint" specific measurement, Lucina is smaller than just one of pirates, his eyes. [[spoiler:He's much smaller in ''Shadows of Valentia', though still much larger than humans.]]
* BadFuture: He creates a particularly nasty ZombieApocalypse kind.
* BattleThemeMusic: Not in the endgame of ''Awakening'', but in Future Past 3, he uses [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWdFG7BA_mA Id (Hope)]]. He also has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJ3bVuFME2s Monstrosity]], [[spoiler:used when fought in ''Shadows of Valentia''.]]
* BigNo: Their last word, if you kill them.
* BondCreatures: Grima needs to possess a descendant of the original human who made the pact with him long ago. In the main story, "Present Grima" is variation on this as he's able to function without possessing Robin by being controlled by Future Grima(using Future Robin's body). If the Grima from the BadFuture is defeated, present Grima is defeated as well as the former holds him together.
* BonusBoss: [[spoiler:In ''Shadows of Valentia'', where he's the boss of Chapter 6, which takes place after the storyline has concluded.]]
* BornOfMagic: [[spoiler:Grima was not born, he was created through alchemy as an experiment to create perfect life.]]
* BreathWeapon: Breathes black mist called Expiration for his attacks.
* CardCarryingVillain: He calls himself the Evil Dragon in Japan, and uses similar terms even in the localized version.
* CastingAShadow: Breathes dark fire.
* ChewingTheScenery: [[EvilIsHammy There are so many instances in which]] [[LaughablyEvil he just can't be taken seriously]].
* CompositeCharacter: Grima seems to combine traits from Medeus and Loptyr. Being a destructive surviving Earth Dragon like the former, but also using a vessel, and godguise to control cult followers like the latter.
* ContractualBossImmunity: In ''Awakening'', Dragonskin prevents Lethality and Counter for activating while fighting him. [[spoiler:In ''Shadows of Valentia'', Status Immunity prevents him from being poisoned or paralyzed. ]]
* DeadpanSnarker: In the English version,
he has a pegleg, which Gomer swore on, surprisingly sardonic sense of humor. {{Lampshade|Hanging}}d by Laurent in Future Past 3, who calls Grima out on being nothing more than sardonic quips he can't back up.
* DystopiaJustifiesTheMeans: The world it creates is nothing short of a living hell for all humanity.
* DarkIsEvil: With a pitch-black body
and a hook hand according nothing but {{red eyes|TakeWarning}} to illuminate it, Grima is evil in both intention and appearance.
* DeathByIrony: The person that he possesses is the
one that ends up killing him once and for all. If the Avatar sacrifices themselves to kill him, the spell that they use to do so is ''Grima's Truth''.
* DiabolusExNihilo: An example both in-universe and out of it. No one discusses where Grima really came from. [[spoiler:Averted out of universe in ''Shadows of Valentia'', where Grima's origin is revealed.]]
* DragonsAreDemonic: Grima is Naga's greatest rival, and is a AlwaysChaoticEvil dragon that possesses a suitable host and surrounds himself with a death cult of fanatical supporters, the Grimeal. Much like Loptyr, his plan for full resurrection involves the use of a suitable host bred for the task, in this case [[spoiler:the Avatar.]]
* DragonsPreferPrincesses: His cult sacrifices maidens to him.
* TheDreaded: Grima is a name closely associated with doom, especially to Lucina.
* DualBoss: Played with; you fight the present Grima and the future Grima (using the Hierophant) at the same time, though you only attack the future Grima.
* EnemyWithin: Has hijacked control of Future Robin's body who is FightingFromTheInside.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: When Avatar begins hearing the voices of his/her friends encouraging him/her in the Final Chapter, he is frustrated, unable to understand why his power cannot silence the voices that interfere with his attempt to take over Avatar's mind. If the Avatar chooses to [[HeroicSacrifice put him down once and for all]], Grima takes a moment to figure out that, yes, the Avatar ''will'' give his/her life for the greater good.
* EvilOverlord: In the BadFuture where he is in control
of the stories Ricken read in Risen and the rest of the world.
* EyesDoNotBelongThere: Those six red eyes of his? They're not
his support only ones. The artbook reveals that the upper part of his dragon head is actually an ''exoskeleton helmet'', and those eyes ''grow on his human-like cheeks, below his main eyes, toward the back of his head''. It's as freaky as it sounds. This can also be seen in the final chapter during his attack animation.
* {{Expy}}: Of Loptyr, and to a lesser extent, Medeus. Being Naga's old archenemy
with Olivia.
a breeding cult dedicated to creating another vessel with pure enough blood for the Dragon to possess and terrorize the world with just like Loptyr.
* TheGhost: Only mentioned FinalBoss: Of ''Awakening''. The endgame is even simply named "Grima".
* FixedDamageAttack: [[spoiler:In ''Shadows of Valentia'', Expiration ignores enemy defence, so characters who are hit
by pirate [=NPC=]s throughout it take 34 damage on Normal Mode and 36 damage on Hard.]]
* FlatCharacter: One of the least developed villains in
the series, the game delves into less backstory than his counterparts, those being Medeus, Duma, and Loptyr for example.
* GiantFlyer: The entire last stage of ''Awakening'' is fought on his back, specifically near the nape of the neck. [[spoiler:He's much smaller
in support conversations several times ''Shadows of Valentia'', but he's still qualifies for this trope there too.]]
* GodOfEvil: The Plegians worship him as if he was one however Grima is not a genuine god.
* GodsHandsAreTied: The time travel and his botched attempt at brainwashing the Avatar weakened him so much that he was forced to run off to Validar.
* GrandTheftMe: Possesses the Avatar of the Future, and tries to possess the Avatar of the present.
* GreaterScopeVillain: As Validar is subservient to it and sought to awaken it. Grima created the Grimleal to breed people like Validar.
* HeroKiller: Personally kills Chrom, Naga's mark holder,
in ''VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening''.
the future while possessing the Avatar's body.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Though HoistByHisOwnPetard: If you choose to kill it, instead of letting Chrom do it.
If its appearance on the world-map can be taken literally,
it's quite possible ''country-sized'', with the entire final battle taking place on its back, specifically around the nape of the neck.
* MeaningfulName: The localized name, "Grima", is a name
that Anna made it up on can link to the spot given word "grim", and it can also mean "mask" or "spectre" in Old English.
Well, it turns out
that she was desperately the link you two share means that your vessel -- the one ''you're'' ultimately responsible for the existence of -- is also the only person who can kill you for good.
In
trying to appease ensure his survival, he put himself in the only possible position to be killed, for no reason.
* NoManOfWomanBorn:
** When the Avatar successfully fights off Grima's control and doesn't become present Grima's vessel, BadFuture Grima uses his Bad Future Avatar body in his place to revive the present Grima and hold him together.
** Also
a very angry Tiki victim of this; Grima can only be permanently destroyed with his own power.
* ObviouslyEvil: Black skin, {{red eyes|TakeWarning}}... yep, Grima's evil.
* PsychicAssistedSuicide: Future Grima takes control of the Grimleal in a ritual making them sacrifice themselves
at the time, apparently Dragon's Table.
* {{Pride}}: As a Dragon, Grima has displayed a superiority complex and always looked down on humanity, especially when he rules in Lucina's BadFuture timeline, confident in his superiority and their inability to kill him, [[NighInvulnerable for admittedly good reason]].
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Delivers
this guy founded an orphanage.
* SeaDogBeard: Nedata swears by
to Lucina in the briny beard BadFuture and to Avatar in the final chapter.
* ReminiscingAboutYourVictims: In the Future Past, Grima tells survivors about how he killed their parents.
--> '''Grima''': Heh. You know, the man/woman who used to control this body loved your father. He/she would have died to protect Chrom.
--> '''Grima''': You're less than a shadow
of Shanty Pete.your mother.
* UltimateLifeForm: [[spoiler:Created to be the perfect life by an alchemist. Given that the only way for Grima to be killed is through the use of hiss own power, it seems that he was successful.]]

* CompetitiveBalance: As a result of their DivergentCharacterEvolution + their Smash appearance. Many of the characters in this group are fast, strong sword wielders, but have their stats (bases and growths) tend towards their Smash incarnations while their abilities trend more towards their canon Fire Emblem appearances to make each of them stand out from the others:
** FragileSpeedster: Marth. His Speed is incredible and often guarantees that he will get in double attacks, but he is often locked to swords which, alongside not-spectacular defensive stats, means he often can't take too many hits.
** JackOfAllStats: Lucina who, compared to the others, has no outstanding traits, but none of the weaknesses that can bring them down as well.
** MightyGlacier: Ike. He hits hard and gets good physical defence, and Ragnell gives him up-close and ranged options as well, but his speed tends to be low or otherwise compromised to compensate.
** SquishyWizard: Robin. As the resident caster of the group and the only one who prefers magic over weapons, he can hit from near or afar with his signature spell and against the typically lower defensive stat, but his defence against physical hits is much lower than the others.

You fight the Deadlords again in a DLC chapter, where they claim to have fallen in a battle with the fate at the world at stake; it is heavily implied that they are in fact the parents from the BadFuture, with a ''Fire Emblem Cipher'' card stops exactly short of confirming this.

[[caption-width-right:147:Anna as she appears in ''Radiant Dawn'']]
The closest thing to a SeriesMascot the franchise has, Anna is a recurring character who has appeared in every installment except ''VideoGame/FireEmblemGaiden''. Normally appearing in menus and the like, she occasionally gets story roles like appearing in villages, running tutorials, or being the owner of Secret Shops. In ''VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening'', she finally graduated into being a full playable character, in addition to maintaining the game's [=SpotPass=] functionality as the keeper of the Outrealm Gate and appearing as random merchants on the overworld map. During ''Awakening'', it is revealed that there is more than one Anna, and that the playable Anna is the sister to the Outrealm Gatekeeper and the travelling merchants.

Tropes about the ''Awakening'', ''Fates'' and ''Heroes'' versions of Anna go on those characters pages, while tropes about Anna generally go here. Tropes about both playable Anna and NPC Anna can go on both.

----
* AffectionateNickname: Calls Jake names like Honeycomb.
* AscendedExtra: One Anna finally made her playable debut in ''Awakening''.
* BonusBoss: [[spoiler:One Anna serves as this in ''Awakening's'' final Ultimate Training DLC Chapter, and boy is she a doozy. It is quite possible to [[SkippableBoss skip]] battling her, however.]]
* BladeOnAStick: As a Merchant[[spoiler:, including her BonusBoss appearance]]. The [[MagicKnight Trickster]] Annas (including the playable one) use Swords and [[CombatMedic Staves]] instead, while the Outlaw Anna in ''Fates'' uses bows.
%%* BreakingTheFourthWall
* CovertPervert: Implied with the Annas who run the hot spring and the beach resort in the Hot-Spring Scramble and Summer Scramble DLC xenologues in ''Awakening''. They try to use their Snapshot tomes in order to catch pictures of the Shepherds with little clothing on, so they can make a profit off of said pictures.
* CueCardPause: The Anna who runs Apotheosis apparently has to use a script she wrote to introduce challengers to Apotheosis. She occasionally pauses to try to recall her lines and reread her script.
* MassiveNumberedSiblings: It's stated that there are a large number of Annas, [[UncannyFamilyResemblance all identical siblings]]. This is what lets her show up in multiple ''Fire Emblem'' game.
* MemeticHandGesture: Usually seen resting her index finger on her face.
* MoneyFetish: ''Awakening'' reveals that some members of the Anna family are obsessed with money. [[CharacterizationMarchesOn The original Anna]], though, insisted on keeping her [[SecretShop shop secret]], despite others pointing out that doing so would cripple sales.
* OptionalPartyMember: Even after being PromotedToPlayable in ''Awakening'' and ''Fates'', she's an optional recruit.
* PluckyGirl: They are generally characterized as this; even if they are in a tight situation, they maintain a positive attitude.
* RandomNumberGod: Referred to as such by the [[MemeticMutation fanbase]]. Turns into AscendedMeme when [[spoiler:BonusBoss Anna in ''Awakening'' has the Rightful God skill, which makes other skills more likely to proc -- namely her ''[[LifeDrain Aet]][[ArmorPiercingAttack her]]''.]]
* RedheadInGreen: The merchant Annas in ''Awakening'' wear a green tunic and flat hat as part of their travelling clothes.
* SecretShop: Their usual proprietor. [[DiscussedTrope Discussed]] in ''Shadow Dragon'' -- Jake remarks that business isn't actually looking too good for her ''because'' of the nature of the shops. They were dropped with ''Awakening'', though.
* SNKBoss: [[spoiler:In ''Awakening'', ye Gods. Aether, Counter, Rightful God, Dragonskin, and Vantage+; this equates to [[LifeDrain Aet]][[ArmorPiercingAttack her]] activating a whole lot (Rightful God), being immune to [[CounterAttack Counter]] and [[OneHitKill Lethality]] (Dragonskin) while having Counter herself, and ''always'' getting the first hit regardless of who initiates combat (Vantage+). Moreover, she has both a Spear for ranged combat and a ''Brave Lance'' for close combat, both forged for Might and Hit Rate, on top of having absurd stats on par with Future Past Grima. While she is vulnerable to Lancebreaker, which reduces her hit rate by 50, she still hits like a truck and Counter is still a problem. However, she is extremely easily gimped by longbows due to not having Aegis+ (or even Pavise+).]]
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Her hair is always an unnatural shade of red in every single appearance.

Anna's love interest. Formerly a citizen of Grust in Archanea during the War of Shadows, he apparently accompanies Anna on her interuniversal travels, including doing a brief stint as one of Fargus's pirates in ''VideoGame/FireEmblemTheBlazingBlade''. Despite constantly ending up in combat situations, he regularly laments that he doesn't really have that much of a stomach for it all.

->'''Class:''' Ballistician (''Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light'', ''Shadow Dragon''), Pirate (''The Blazing Blade'', as a NPC), Warrior (''New Mystery of the Emblem'')
----
* AdaptationDyeJob: The games and supplementary materials can't decide on whether his hair is brown (''Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light'', ''The Blazing Blade'') or purple (official art, ''Shadow Dragon'').
* AffectionateNickname: He and Anna sometimes call each other names like Honeycomb and sweetie.
* ArcherArchetype: Averted, as he's an emotional jokester.
* AnAxeToGrind: Since ceasing use of his ballista, he's apparently taken a liking to axes.
* ChivalrousPervert: Anna doesn't seem to mind his habit of flirting with random girls too much.
* CapuletCounterpart: In ''Shadow Dragon'', Jake starts out as a reluctant soldier of Grust who starts a relationship with Anna, an Archanean citizen of the town his army is occupying.
* DependingOnTheArtist: His hair color is either brown or bluish purple depending on the game. This seems to relate to his blue haired portrait being accidentally switched with the brunette Beck in the first game.
* MyCountryRightOrWrong: He wasn't too keen on Grust's actions, but it took Anna to get him to leave the Grust forces outright.
* NotWhatISignedOnFor: Mentions as a Grustian soldier that he didn't join to kick Archanea when they're down.
* NoSenseOfDirection: During his time in Jugdral, he gets lost ''twice''.
* PutOnABus: Didn't appear in either book of ''Mystery of the Emblem''. This was remedied in ''Heroes of Light and Shadow''.
* PunchClockVillain: Was rather reluctant during his brief time in the Grust army, lamenting he wasn't cut out for the army.
* SecretShop: In ''Shadow Dragon'', Jake comments Anna's business isn't doing so well because few can find it, leading Marth to wonder why it isn't a ''Tell your friends shop.'' A similar conversation happens in ''New Mystery'' with Avatar.
* SiegeEngines: In ''Shadow Dragon''; by the time of ''New Mystery'', he's stopped using it due to the fuel source for the engines going extinct.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: He -- along with Beck, Darros, Wrys, Roger, and to a lesser extent Gotoh -- was meant to return as playable characters in ''Monshou no Nazo'', but was scrapped during development.

!!Naga ''(Narga)''

[[quoteright:349:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fire_emblem_awakening_-_naga_7558.png]]
[[caption-width-right:349:Naga as she appears in ''Awakening'']]

The Divine Dragon [[SheIsTheKing King]] and protector of humanity, although an aloof and distant one. Over the course of the series's backstory, she did battle with the Earth Dragon tribe, among them [[VideoGame/FireEmblemAkaneia Medeus]] and [[VideoGame/FireEmblemJugdral Loptyr]], and the Fell Dragon [[VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening Grima]], said to be her archrival.

While Naga eventually passed away, she left a lasting legacy on the world. Her bloodline lives on through her daughter Tiki, her reincarnation Nagi, and the royal family of Grannvale in Jugdral who received it through her pact with Saint Heim. The people of Archanea and Jugdral revere her as a legendary god, though both are largely unaware that she was in fact a female dragon. Many a hero has used holy weapons associated with her to vanquish evil -- the Falchion and Binding Shield wielded by Marth and eventually the Ylissean royal family, and the Naga tome of Grannvale's royalty.
----
* AbsoluteCleavage: Her attire in ''Awakening'' bares most of her chest down to her midriff.
* AloofBigSister: To Forseti, and to a degree to the whole of Jugdral. In spite of her sincere desire to protect it, she never was too fond of interacting ''directly'' with humanity, unless it was truly needed.
* AmbiguousGender: In-universe -- with the exception of her appearance before the Twelve Crusaders at the Miracle of Darna, she is universally assumed to be male by her religious followers. The same applied out-of-universe too until ''Awakening'', where she turns out to be definitively female. [[spoiler:Then the Future of Despair DLC Chapters imply that Naga doesn't always have to be the same person, as her daughter Tiki (who died earlier) becomes the new Naga in that timeline, making it wholly ambiguous again.]]
* DragonsAreDivine: In ''VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening'', both Naga and Grima were worshiped by Ylisse and Plegia, respectively, though Naga insists that neither are truly gods because they lack the power of creation. Tiki, the daughter of Naga herself, is worshiped in Valm as the Voice of Naga due to their connection.
* AGodIAmNot: In her own words:
-->"“But know this: I am no god. I am no creator. I possess not the powers of making or unmaking. [[spoiler:And neither does Grima. Neither of us bears the power to destroy the other utterly.]]”
* ShipperOnDeck: In ''Awakening''. Dragons can commune with Naga simply by praying to her. The entirety of the support between [[HalfHumanHybrid Nah]] and [[MommasBoy a male!Morgan]] is Naga subtly working to hook them up. (Then again, [[BreakTheCutie both kids have had]] ''[[OrphansOrdeal very]]'' [[OrphansOrdeal harsh early lives]], [[PetTheDog so]]...)
* GetARoom: In the support of [[HalfHumanHybrid Nah]] and [[MommasBoy Morgan]] in ''VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening''. After their confession of love, the two share this [[Funny/FireEmblemAwakening hilarious]] dialogue:
-->'''Morgan:''' So, uh, did Naga have anything to say about this?\\
'''Nah:''' Hold on, I'll ask.\\
'''Nah:''' ......\\
'''Nah:''' ...She said to get a room.
* GoodIsNotNice: Naga ordered Gotoh to kill Tiki if worst to came to worst and the Binding Shield (which kept Tiki sane) could not be recovered in time.
* GreaterScopeParagon: Naga serves as this in three separate ''Fire Emblem'' series:
** In ''VideoGame/FireEmblemAkaneia'', Naga was the leader of the Divine Dragons who worked hard in ensuring humanity's future in place of dragonkind, but is dead in the present, and ironically some decisions Naga made in the past ended up accidentally hurting humanity. One of her fangs was used to forge the Falchion, the weapon used by Anri to defeat Medeus, and later used by his indirect descendants Marth, Chrom, and Lucina. Due to this, her right hand man, Gotoh takes up the role of BigGood, being the one to provide Marth with the means to defeat his [[APupilOfMineUntilHeTurnedToEvil former ward]], Gharnef, one of the [[BigBadDuumvirate two main villains]].
** In ''VideoGame/FireEmblemJugdral'' Naga serves as this alongside the other unnamed Divine Dragons who blood bonded with the Twelve Crusaders in order to give them the power to take down the evil Lopt Empire. They also granted each a divine weapon to assist them on their quest. Among those weapons were the Tyrfing later wielded by Sigurd and his son Seliph, and Naga's divine weapon, the Book of Naga tome, which are the only things capable of countering or resisting the effects of [[GreaterScopeVillain Loptyr]]'s own eponymous tome. By the time of ''Genealogy of the Holy War'', however, all involved save for the Divine Dragon Forseti are either long dead or have left Jugdral, Naga in particular citing the desire to allow the humans a chance to decide their own destiny, and the Crusader's descendants are squabbling over who will rule the continent. Naga, along with Forseti, do still end up playing a part, as they possessed the wielders of their respective tomes to fight Loptyr.
** In ''VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening'', Naga defeated Loptyr's {{Expy}}, Grima in ancient days and has blessed heroic mortals with her power to accomplish great deeds. Her power also marks the royal line of Ylisse, where she is [[CargoCult worshiped as a god]], which manifests as the Brand of the Exalt. However, she doesn't get directly involved in ''Awakening'''s story, save for the very end of the main game where she grants Chrom's Falchion its full power during the titular Awakening ceremony, and in the Future Past DLC where she serves as more of a BigGood.
* {{Leitmotif}}: "Legend of the Divine Dragon God", in the Archanea games (and ''[[ShoutOut Blazing Sword]]''); the melody is shared with her daughter Tiki, with her version using harps and woodwinds.
* LightIsGood: The tome with her essence is Holy, of course.
* MissingMom: To Tiki.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: As a Divine Dragon tribe Manakete, she's able to take on the form of a golden-colored dragon with softer features, in contrast to the more reptillian forms of the other dragon tribes.
* PointyEars: Her depiction in ''Awakening'' has her sport a pair, an indication that she isn't human.
* SamusIsAGirl: Despite the AmbiguousGender created InUniverse, in ''Awakening'' she takes on the form of a woman.
* VoluntaryShapeshifter: While Naga did not come up with the idea of assuming human form, she was a firm supporter of it.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: She sports vivid green hair during her appearance in ''Awakening'', if only to reinforce her parentage with Tiki, whose hair is also green.

Naga's daughter, and the sole survivor of the Divine Dragon tribe who is still capable of taking dragon form. As one of her last acts, Naga placed her in an unending sleep to prevent her from degenerating into madness like all the other dragons, but she was eventually unsealed by Bantu. The two travelled the world for a time until she was captured and brainwashed by Gharnef. Upon being freed from the spell by Bantu, Tiki joined the Altean army and took a liking to Marth. After the war, she was put back to sleep by Gotoh, but he allowed her to reawaken for good upon confirming that Marth would be able to restore the Binding Shield, which would prevent her from degenerating.

[[VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening Eons later]], Tiki has grown up and is now revered as the Voice of the Divine Dragon in the Valmese Empire. When Chrom's band travels to Valm, she appears before them to task them with restoring the Binding Shield, and aids them in challenging the Grimleal. Has the scariest waking up face in the army. Her birthday is Feburary 28th.

----
* BlowingARaspberry: Oddly enough, she does this in ''Awakening'', in her B support with Say'ri.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Hypnotized by Gharnef in ''Shadow Dragon'' via convincing her Bantu was in trouble, and only Gharnef could protect her. She was used to guard the Fane of Ronan and by extension the Lightsphere, Starsphere, and Geosphere. Fittingly, it was Bantu that broke her out of this trance.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Green hair and eyes.
* CuteMonsterGirl: In the Archanea games, she was the youngest playable character, at least appearance-wise.
* DeepSleep: Twice, no less. The first was Naga's doing before she died, placing her in an unending sleep to prevent her from degenerating into madness like all the other dragons; this was interrupted by Bantu who subsequently adopted her. Then, after the War of Shadows, she was put back to sleep by Gotoh, but he allowed her to reawaken for good upon confirming that Marth would be able to restore the Binding Shield, which would prevent her from degenerating. And it happened again by the time of ''Awakening'', this time of her own volition, when the Shield was disassembled ''yet again''. Her downtime quotes and supports sometimes make fun of it, often portraying her as very sleepy and lazy.
* DragonsAreDivine: In ''Awakening'', Tiki is worshiped by Valm as the Voice of Naga due to being a member of the Divine Dragon tribe and Naga's daughter.
* HappilyAdopted: Tiki ''loves'' Ban-Ban with all her heart who adopted Tiki as his daughter and raised her like a normal girl. Gharnef even used to manipulate her in the first game.
* HappilyMarried: If paired with Male Avatar in ''Awakening''. Which leads to BattleCouple and MayflyDecemberRomance.
--> "I know that to love another, I must watch the world move past him. But such short years make an eternity worth living."
* HunterOfHerOwnKind: Her Divinestone deals effective damage against other manaketes or transformed dragons. In ''Awakening'', she gains the Wyrmsbane, which deals effective damage against wyvern riders and other manaketes, which is only possible through spotpass.
* ImmortalImmaturity: While she normally acts wise and aloof in ''Awakening'', her B rank support conversation with Say'ri reveals she's not as grown up as she appears. Of course, part of it ''was'' a ploy to get Say'ri to lighten up a little.
--> '''Tiki''' ''"[[BlowingARaspberry Thbbbbt!]]"''
--> '''Say'ri''' ''"My lady, I have no words. You are acting as a child!"''
** This was justified in the Archanea games, as Tiki really only had spent ten years awake despite technically being alive for far longer.
* InstantAwesomeJustAddDragons: With the aid of a Divinestone, she can take on her Divine Dragon form, allowing her to fight back against the Manaketes of Dolhr, and most human enemies.
* InTheHood: As depicted in the Famicom game.
* LightningBruiser: Give her a couple of levels and watch her wipe out an entire area.
* LightIsGood[=/=]LightEmUp: Like her mom, her breath is holy.
* LoveConfession:
-->''I know that to love another, I must watch the world move past him. But such short years make an eternity worth living.''
* NighInvulnerable: In ''Dark Dragon'', she can potentially have the second highest defense in the ''entire series'', below Bantu.
* MagikarpPower: Well, sort of. She's already good when you get her because of the Divinestone, but she has very low HP at that point in the game (HP being the only stat not touched by the Divinestone's bonuses), and even with the Divinestone's bonus to her Speed, she won't be able to double most enemies. Once you level her up a bit, her HP won't be much of a problem and she can double most of her foes with ease.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: Like Naga, she's able to transform into a golden-coloured dragon which is sometimes depicted with feathers. In ''Awakening'', her dragon form is more or less a PaletteSwap of Nowi, slightly glowing brighter than the latter.
* {{Leitmotif}}: "The Little Divine Dragon", which shares its melody with that of Naga, using much higher-pitched and eerie instrumentation.
* MercyKill: In the "Infinite Regalia" DLC chapter of ''Awakening'', her battle quote implies that [[spoiler:the Deadlord she's facing is either Marth or one of the parents that died in the BadFuture, leading to this trope]].
* TheNicknamer: Child example -- she refers to Marth as "Mar-Mar" and Bantu as "Ban-Ban".
* OverratedAndUnderleveled: In ''Awakening'', she's no stronger than Nowi and slightly weaker than Nah, despite being the daughter of a god, a potential world ender, and an adult when the other two are children. She isn't exactly weak, but does ''not'' live up to her reputation. However, this might be justified as she's been asleep for a very long time, and several of her interactions in ''Awakening'' hint that she has trouble getting accustomed again to the fast-paced world of humans.
* ParentalSubstitute: Bantu acted as Tiki's father figure when she was a "child."
* PersonOfMassDestruction: Naga and Gotoh feared that she would become this. The restoration of the Binding Shield averts this possibility for good.
* PointyEars: A clear indicator that she isn't human.
* PrecociousCrush: Implied with Marth, though in the original Mystery, it turned out to be Xane just teasing Marth.
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: In ''Awakening'', she casually mentions that she's 3000 years old. This actually helps establish just how long after ''Mystery of the Emblem'' the game is set. There's something of a RunningGag with Tiki making reference to just how ''ancient'' she is by now, especially in her shopping quotes.
* SeniorSleepCycle: She spends a lot of time napping. Technically, she's not elderly, but she is one of the oldest living things on the planet, if not ''the'' oldest.
* SheIsAllGrownUp: A few thousand years pass between ''Shadow Dragon'' and ''Awakening'', during which time Tiki matured very nicely.
* TakingTheBullet: During the second chapter of ''Awakening''[='=]s Future of Despair DLC, [[spoiler:she sacrifices herself on an attack targeted at Lucina. While she dies, she's later revealed to have taken on the role of Naga, effectively foiling Grima's plan.]]
* TalkingInYourSleep: Tiki spends most of her support conversations with the female Avatar asleep, while occasionally speaking her dreams between snores.
* ThirdOptionLoveInterest: Given that she only joins your party if you play and complete Paralogue 17 without her dying.
* TokenMiniMoe: In the original Archanea games.
* TooAwesomeToUse: She's considered one of the best characters in all four Archanea games... and she comes mid-late into both games and has very limited usability given the small, finite number of Dragonstones available. This case is slightly averted in ''Dark Dragon'' thanks to the Divine Dragonstone being an infinite-use weapon.
** In ''Shadow Dragon'', at least, give her the Starsphere. It allows all of the holder's weapons to be used infinitely -- Dragonstones included. You'll have to give up the sphere if you want Gotoh to forge Starlight, but until then, have a blast letting Tiki rip through everything! Also, she can use Bantu's Firestones if you want to save up the Divinestone.
** There's also the secret shop in ''New Mystery of the Emblem'' where you are able to recurit Tiki. You can use the Warp staff that is also obtianed in that chapter to teleport someone to the centre of the north eastern lake, an area that cannot be reached otherwise, and they'll find the secret shop holds one of each non-unique dragonstone in the game, meaning that Tiki, as well as the other Manaketes, have more weaponry and use in the process. This, however, cannot be done in [[HarderThanHard Lunatic mode]], as the warp staff is not available to use.
** In both ''Shadow Dragon'' and ''New Mystery of The Emblem'', you can use the even more limited Hammerne on the Divinestone to make sure that it doesn't run out of uses.
** Averted properly in ''Awakening'' -- though they're fairly expensive, Dragonstones and even Dragonstone+'s can simply be bought by the time she's recruitable.
* SeriesContinuityError: In Awakening Tiki is depicted as keeping the Fire Emblem separate by keeping the Starsphere on her all the way on Valm.
* VaporWear: Her red minidress in ''Awakening'' makes it clear that Tiki does not wear underwear, possibly due to the fact that she is a dragon in human form.
* WingedHumanoid: Tiki is depicted with Angel Wings in several depictions such as ''Mystery of the Emblem.''
* WhoWantsToLiveForever: Her supports with a female Avatar indicate this, [[spoiler:as she has nightmares about Marth leaving her]]. Her supports with Nah particularly revolve around this trope, as does her love confession scene with the male Avatar. Both, however, also underscore her firm resolve to not let it beat her down.
* WrongNameOutburst: As an adult, she accidentally uses "Mar-Mar" to refer to the Avatar, leading to some confusion [[spoiler:and for a male Avatar, a hint of her affections]].
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Or green, to be exact.
* YouRemindMeOfX: Hero-type towards both the Avatar and [[spoiler:Lucina]] in ''Awakening'', stating that they share his ability to [[MagneticHero build alliances and bonds among their fellow soldiers]]. [[spoiler:Also carries shades of the romantic type if she falls for Male Avatar.]]
* ZettaiRyouiki: Grade B as an adult, with boots.

!!The Deadlords ''(Dark Warlords, [[DubNameChange Seigneurs des Ombres, Todesfürsten, Resurgidos]])''

The 12 Deadlords are a collection of warriors, named Mus, Bovis, Tigris, Lepus, Draco, Anguilla, Equus, Ovis, Simia, Gallus, Canis, and Porcus. They once served the Lopto Empire, and later served the empire's remnants, the Lopto Sect. Very little is known about the Deadlords due to the fact that they are introduced in ''Seisen No Keifu'' and are fought before the final battle with little explanation of where they came from. ''Thracia 776'' sheds more info about the Deadlords. [[spoiler:The Deadlords are "born" by the Lopto Sect turning other people into them, and both Manfroy and Veld seem to have the ability to do this. This is shown by Raydrik, as well as potentially Galzus, Dadgar, Eyvel, Sara, and Lifis, being turned into Mus, Bovis, Tigris, Draco, Canis, and Porcus respectively.]]

In ''VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening'', [[spoiler:the Deadlords were reincarnated by Validar and Aversa of the Grimleal, and some of their number were equpped with the Holy Weapons of the Twelve Crusaders. They were deployed under Aversa's command in order to defeat Chrom, but again failed and were slain. You fight the Deadlords again in a DLC chapter, where they claim to have fallen in a battle with the fate at the world at stake; it is heavily implied that they are in fact the parents from the BadFuture.]]
----
* AnAxeToGrind: Tigris, as well as Lepus in ''Awakening''.
* TheArcher: Draco
* BladeOnAStick: Mus in almost every appearance, and also Equus in ''Awakening''.
* BossBonanza: Gameplay-wise, their role is to act as this. [[spoiler:''Thracia 776'' can mix this with BossRush as well, depending on what units you didn't recruit.]]
* DarkIsEvil: Aside from the name, Gallus always uses Dark Magic, while Lepus uses Staves, and Canis uses either Light Magic or Staves.
* DubNameChange: ''Awakening'', which marks their first international appearance, has different names for the Deadlords in different languages: Seigneurs des Ombres (Lords of Shadow) in French, Todesfürsten (Princes of Death) in German, and Resurgidos (Arisen) in Spanish.
* FireIceLightning: Anguilla, Equus in ''Genealogy'', and Ovis, as well as Canis in ''Awakening'', use an Anima Tome each.
* GenderBender: Draco, who is male in [=FE4=], but female in [=FE5=]. Justifed, as it is possible that a different person was used to create Draco each time.
* ForWantOfANail: Their ''Thracia 776'' appearance. The five Deadlords you face are created using the bodies of five people you should recruit during the course of the game and then either allow to die/be petrified or end up not recruiting them: [[MightyGlacier Mus]] is [[TheDragon Raydrik]] (the only fixed Deadlord, as he is a main villain in the game and thus is not recruitable), [[LightningBruiser Bovis]] is Mareeta's father [[WarriorPrince Galzus]], [[FragileSpeedster Porcus]] is [[TokenEvilTeammate Lifis]], [[TheBerserker Tigris]] is Tanya's father [[BoisterousBruiser Dagdar]], [[SquishyWizard Canis]] is [[MysticalWaif Sara]], and Draco is none other than... [[spoiler:[[TeamMom Eyvel]][=/=][[LaserGuidedAmnesia Briggid]]. Yeah.]]
** Although this could be unconfirmed, [[spoiler:Anguilla in ''Genealogy of Holy War'' is a Mage Knight wielding a Thoron spell and possessing minor Tordo blood. Meaning that adding to the insults of the abuses she suffered at Hilda to death, Tailto (or Ethnia, if Tailto died child-less) gets turned into a Deadlord. ''Ouch''.]]
** [[spoiler:''Awakening'''s Infinite Regalia DLC implies that the Deadlords of ''Awakening'' were created from the parents that died in the BadFuture.]]
* MagicKnight: Anguilla's class is this, and in [=FE4=] this comes with the Thoron spell and [[spoiler:a minor Tordo blood, meaning that it is possible that this incarnation of Anguilla is either Tailto or Ethnia. Neither is recognized as such by her kids, however.]].
* NoCureForEvil: Averted in ''Genealogy of the Holy War'' and in ''Awakening'', where Lepus possesses a healing staff to use on the others. Naturally, the players will want to ShootTheMedicFirst.
* NoIndoorVoice: In ''Awakening'', the Deadlords speak in all caps.
* OurZombiesAreDifferent: [[spoiler:As shown through ''Thracia 776'' and ''Awakening'', the Deadlords were made from the bodies of deceased warriors. They are obedient to those they serve, like the Loptyr Sect or the Grimleal, but the Deadlords in ''Infinite Regalia'' appear to have self-independence but are forced to defend the treasures while testing their robbers.]]
* ThemeNaming: In the Japanese version, they are named after the numbers 1 to 12 in the German language. In the west, they are given the Latin names of the animals from the Chinese Zodiac.

!! Shanty Pete

An obscure character of folklore who is mentioned briefly in several ''Fire Emblem'' games, primarily the Akaneia and Tellius ones, and appears to be something of a patron saint of pirates. He also apparently liked to dance on barrels of rum, according to [[VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening Robin]].
----
* DressedToPlunder: Should be a given, seeing as he's implied to be a "patron saint" of pirates, but he had a pegleg, which [[VideoGame/FireEmblemAkaneia Gomer]] swore on, and a hook hand according to one of the stories Ricken read in his support with Olivia.
* SeaDogBeard: [[VideoGame/FireEmblemTellius Nedata]] swears by the briny beard of Shanty Pete.

!!Toys/{{amiibo}} Icons ''([[VideoGame/FireEmblemAkaneia Marth]], [[VideoGame/FireEmblemTellius Ike]], [[VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening Robin, Lucina]], [[VideoGame/FireEmblemElibe Roy]], [[VideoGame/FireEmblemFates Corrin]])''

The playable ''Fire Emblem'' representatives in ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros'' as of the fourth game in the series. Since the introduction of amiibo, these five characters can appear in compatible games in and outside of ''Fire Emblem'' canon together. See character pages for their respective games, for more about them as individuals.
----
* AnotherDimension: Often used in-game to describe how amiibo work if not AlternateUniverse, the SpiritWorld, or the Outrealm Gates.
* AscendedExtra: Particularly in ''Fates'', they're more or less a more fleshed-out version of the Einherjar concept from ''Awakening''. Marth, Roy, and Ike themselves were previously available as Einherjar.
* BreakoutCharacter: ''Fire Emblem'' amiibo are generously supported in games besides ''Smash'', most notably to unlock the characters themselves as units in ''VideoGame/CodeNameSteam'' and ''VideoGame/FireEmblemFates''. This all but guarantees the characters' place in the ''Fire Emblem'' franchise. While Marth was a given, Roy and Ike were both lesser-known Lords in the series outside of ''Smash'' (due to poor sales of their games), and Robin and Lucina ended up overshadowing Chrom (the protagonist of their game).
* CanonWelding: ''VideoGame/FireEmblemFates'' shows that the versions of the characters summoned via amiibo are the ''Smash'' incarnations, although they also have memories of some version of their canon appearances. For example, Lucina and Robin recognize [[spoiler:Owain, Inigo, and Severa]] in ''Fates'', but it's made clear that they're from a different universe from the trio.
* CipherScything: While Robin was a customizable avatar in ''Awakening'', his amiibo is of the default male appearance. He always appears as such in amiibo-compatible games other than ''Smash'' with his default voice, although time will tell whether the female will appear too.
* DivergentCharacterEvolution: Sort of. Whenever Marth and Lucina have appeared together prior to ''VideoGame/CodeNameSteam'', they have been model or gameplay copies of some sort, likely due to Lucina adopting the "Marth" identity.[[note]]Marth is a headswap of Lucina in ''Awakening'' (who even uses her shorter hairstyle), while Lucina is a MovesetClone of Marth in ''Smash''.[[/note]] In amiibo appearances from ''S.T.E.A.M.'' onwards, they have completely different skills and appearances.
* DreamTeam: The most popular, Lords in the entire series. Marth is the face of the franchise and most FamedInStory of them all, while the others have all inherited dragon blood[[note]]Roy's 'canon' mother is more than likely an ice dragon, Corrin's father is a silent dragon, Robin was bred to inherit the power of a fell dragon.[[/note]], or pacts with divine power[[note]]Ike has been blessed by chaos goddess Yune. Lucina has inherited the exalt's pact with divine dragon Naga.[[/note]].
* ElementalPowers: Ike and Roy are associated with the [[PlayingWithFire fire]] element, their swords channeling blue and normal flames respectively. Robin, being the magic user of the five, can use any element through his magic tomes, but is associated with the [[ShockAndAwe thunder]] element in particular, having Thoron as his signature spell and wielding the lightning-infused Levin Sword.
* GuysSmashGirlsShoot: Lucina has a bow in ''VideoGame/CodeNameSteam'' even though her default alternate weapon in ''Awakening'' is a lance. She can only get bows by playing with the re-classing system in her home game. Inverted otherwise in regards to her and her fellow ''Awakening'' partner Robin, however: She prefers swinging swords, he prefers casting spells.
* HeroesPreferSwords: Four of them have legendary blades. The Falchion for Marth, Ragnell for Ike, the Parallel Falchion for Lucina, and Sword of Seals for Roy respectively. Averted with Robin: He is associated with the Levin Sword, but prefers spells, particularly [[ShockAndAwe thunder]] spells.
* LivingToys: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]]. All Smash fighters, including the amiibo characters, are living versions of collectible trophies in some (ambiguous) way. ''Fates'' sheds some more light on this paradigm; it seems to establish that the characters' trophy forms (in this case, the physical amiibo) summon a living version of the character in some imaginary universe (in this case, the canon ''Fire Emblem'' universe), as the amiibo characters are just like any other unit with no reference to their trophy forms.
* MerchandiseDriven: You essentially unlock optional DLC features and sidequests by buying their figurines.
* MythologyGag:
** Their skills tend to be a composite of their Smash Bros interpretation and home game. amiibo!Ike tends to be a MightyGlacier like in ''Smash'', rather than a LightningBruiser as in his own games. However, he can use sword beams and axes as in the Tellius series. This is presumably to differentiate the characters, as all of them except Robin are ''very'' similar {{Lightning Bruiser}}s in their canon appearances, while Robin's stats can vary wildly.
** In ''Fates'', their recruitment battles team them up with enemy units representing their allies from their games of origin.
* OffModel: If undressed in ''Fates'', the characters look slightly different than usual (for example, Ike looks a bit less beefy and Lucina's breasts are a bit larger).
* OneOfTheseIsNotLikeTheOthers: Robin is the only one of them to use magic, and his signature weapon is not a sword but thunder magic. He's also the only one to not wield a legendary blade, and the only one based on a customizable avatar rather than a fixed character.
* WeaponOfChoice: All of them have a weapon or spell that they clearly prefer using. For Marth, Roy, Ike, and Lucina, it is their respective legendary swords. For Robin, it is the magic spell [[ShockAndAwe Thoron]].
