Added DiffLines:

* SquareRaceRoundClass: Although Astolfo is a Quick-focused Servant his third skill bizarrely provides critical star absorption for his Buster cards, of which he has only one. But said skill also has a critical damage bonus and a straight attack bonus, so it's not as though it's useless.

Added DiffLines:

* MoonRabbit: Referenced in his design, as he wears fake bunny ears and the background of his art has him on the moon. Astolfo has always been associated with the moon in ''Fate'' because he left his sanity behind on it during his adventures.

Astolfo, the Rider from Fate/Apocrypha, in the Saber class.

to:

Astolfo, the Rider of Black from Fate/Apocrypha, ''Fate/Apocrypha'', in the Saber class.

Added DiffLines:

* AntiMagic: Like his Rider self he possesses the Noble Phantasm "Casseur de Logistille: Destruction Declaration", which can nullify magecraft. In gameplay it's his first skill, used to charge his Noble Phantasm gauge and remove debuffs.

Added DiffLines:

* MesACrowd: He doesn't use it in-game, but his profile describes a Noble Phantasm called "Crazy Trip・Drive Idol: Senseless Berserk Idol" that creates imaginary existence copies of Astolfo using the power of his Hippogriff. Its purpose is to avoid attacks and confuse the enemy, but according to his profile seeing nearly a hundred Astolfos all partying is also the worst nightmare for Charlemagne's Paladins.
* SonicStunner: His Noble Phantasm "La Black Luna: Magic Flute That Calls Panic", is a large horn that emits a horrible sound. In gameplay it's his second skill, affecting enemies with the Terror status effect for 3 turns, giving them a chance to be stunned on each turn.
* WhipSword: The Noble Phantasm that makes him a Saber is "Volcano Caligorante: Capturing Net of Good Fortune", a sword that unfurls into a whip. It's actually the net he used to capture the giant Caligorante, but it became a sword when he was summoned as a Saber.

Bedivere admires her ability to empathize with the common folk and kindness in her private moments. Agravain admired Altria's competence in bringing about peace and order in Camelot and having the foresight to see the big picture and act accordingly. While [[spoiler:While this version of Bedivere couldn't bring himself to fulfill Altria's final order in the Camelot Singularity since it would mean her death, Agravain's UndyingLoyalty is so extreme that he gladly continues to follow her even after she becomes the Lion King.]]

Added DiffLines:

* GameplayAndStoryIntegration: Bedivere was weaker than his peers of the Round Table, being only stronger than the average knight, hence his "mere" 3* rarity compared to his 4* and 5* comrades[[note]]until the arrival of 2* Gareth, which happened three years later after the release of the Sixth Singularity[[/note]]. His silver arm Airgetlám, however, allows him to keep with the other Knights of the Round Table. This is reflected in gameplay, as his NP is virtually much more damaging than any other NP among the Round Table. Even though he's story-locked, he's very easily available in Class banners, thus his NP is much easier to upgrade compared to his Round Table peers. Having an upgraded NP significantly increased his already high damage output with it. Gawain, Mordred and Altria have [=AoE=] [=NPs=], thus their damage pales in comparison to Bedivere's ST NP. Lancelot lacks an NP upgrade, and while Tristan has one, he is unable to boost his damage in any way, which makes both of their [=NPs=] much weaker than Bedivere's. The strength of his NP can be justified since [[spoiler:it is actually Excalibur]].

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Due to JapaneseRanguage at work, her given name has been officially localized as either "Altria" or "Artoria". In Japanese, it's phonetically "A-ru-to-ri-a" either way. Notably, it's stated in her profile that her legend is partially based off that of Lucius ''Artorius'' Castus, a Roman. As a result, her name being spelled as "Artoria" makes more sense etymologically as it's the exact feminine version of Artorius in Latin. In this game, "Altria" is used as mandated by Type-MOON, which is especially noticeable considering that other localized main Fate entries that feature her, like ''VideoGame/FateExtellaTheUmbralStar'' and [[VideoGame/FateExtellaLink its sequel]] (which came out after the mandate), have used "Artoria". She originally appeared as the corrupted form of Altria from the "Heaven's Feel" route of ''Fate/stay night''. In ''Grand Order'', she serves as the main antagonist of Singularity F: Flame Contaminated City Fuyuki and the ''First Order'' anime adaptation. In ''Epic of Remnant'', she is one of the main allies in Pseudo-Singularity I: Shinjuku Phantom Incident Shinjuku. Her [[Characters/FateGrandOrderRiders Rider variants]] are also stars in events, and she begins "Dead Heat Summer Race" in this form before switching to her more... "race-appropriate" form. She also appears in the ''-MOONLIGHT/LOSTROOM-'' OVA.

* {{Stripperiffic}}: Her outfit is a bikini, shoulder pauldrons, some boots, and a cape that isn't even large enough to properly cover her. Her top is also very loose, it's not even sticking to her chest. Her lines at her third Ascension have her stating with a blush she feels drafts rather often. ->''"Servant, Saber! Elisabeth Báthory! I have grown into a hero and now make my return! Let's work together, Mater!"''

Elisabeth has now become a Saber. With draconic power and the power of music, and the second coming of Halloween, she can no longer be stopped by anyone! Donning a white cape and red armour, with large sword in hand, Brave Elisabeth sets forth today to adventure!\\\

She debuted in the second Halloween event, "Super☆Ghouls 'n Pumpkins," as the free Servant and your main companion in the event's story.
----
* TheAtoner: Almost. She wants to be a hero to override her past, but she still doesn't quite understand what she did. Some Servants are supportive; some chide her.
* AwesomeButImpractical: Her third skill, Legend of Crimson Heroine, when maxed out will provide very powerful effects (Buster buff; party-wide ATK buff, healing, or Invincibility; ''50'' critical stars)...but not only will only ''one'' of the five buffs [[RandomNumberGod be given at complete random]], it comes at the cost of a full NP bar. The sheer unpredictability of the skill combined with the cost means the number of situations it would more practical to use it instead of her powerful single-target NP to provide more damage are few.
* BadassCape: She wouldn't be a heroine without a white cape flowing behind her!
* BoringButPractical: Elisabeth's Saber form is one of the more derided welfare Servants due to the heavy cost associated with Legend of Crimson Heroine for a randomly chosen effect. Most players opt to ignore them entirely, turning her into a 2-skill Servant. Despite this, Elisabeth meets the bare minimum that makes her a good servant overall which makes her a solid pick for the rare Single-Target Saber role. Her Saber deck cardset is extremely optimized with slightly above average Arts cards and 4-hit Quick cards and a 5-hit Extra Atack which allows her to produce a decent chunk of Critical Stars and NP Charge in a proper Brave Chain, and if required, she can activate her defensive skills aggressively to charge her NP Gauge. Her ATK is high for an SR Saber, her Single-Target Noble Phantasm ignores DEF, on top of being easy to upgrade to [=NP5=], ensuring her to have fantastic damage output. Defensively, her Mana Burst (Courage) offer as DEF buff for a turn, and she has access to an invulnerability skill, a rarity amongst Sabers. As a whole, nothing is really wrong with Elisabeth, her stats are fantastic, her Star Drop Rate is great, she has good burst damage potential, she's free, and she's decently durable with a coveted hard survival skill.
* ChainmailBikini:
** Even worse than most, as it was clearly meant for a HotAmazon of some kind and not the mostly flat Elisabeth. Her bra is about two sizes too big and only hides anything through convenient camera angles and/or lens flares. It does fit a little better in battle, at least.
** Nitocris actually ''[[LampshadeHanging calls her out]]'' on looking foolishly outdated in it and "like a hero from TheEighties". Elisabeth retorts that Nitocris can't appreciate her "retro-future chic" style.
** She also appears in "Dead Heat Summer Race" wearing the armor as her ''swimsuit''. Rider Ishtar comments that it may get rusty if she swims with it, while Nero comments that it's poorly fitted and can't comprehend the [[ShouldersOfDoom ridiculous shoulder pads]].
* CrutchCharacter: She was the second Saber event welfare Servant, and the only one currently to be a single target Buster Saber at that. With how rare that combo is, this made her a strong character for free to play players or players with poor luck, especially given her easily obtainable copies. However, due to the impracticality of her third skill, and the slowly increasing number of her type, she looses her edge as a unit, especially if someone acquires Bedivere, who has a much more useful kit and can also be maxed out. She still has her uses, but her out of date kit and time mean she sees less usage for many, especially since she comes from an event that many players may have skipped on and thus will be LostForever.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: Her modus operandi, natch, as a classic heroine. She befriends Nitocris through fighting, and eventually even helps recruit Cleopatra to Chaldea's side by the end of her event.
* DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment: The etymology of her family name means "of bátor". Bátor in Hungarian means "good hero" or "brave". So her full name basically reads "Brave Elisabeth of Brave".
* DreadfulMusician: As usual. The Player even exploit it to get Robin Hood to stop hiding by telling her to sing during the event.
* {{Expy}}: She says she's the Hero; but her appearance is closer to the [[MagicallyIneptFighter The Soldier / Warrior]] from ''VideoGame/DragonQuestIII''. Like so much that Elisabeth does; it's NotQuiteTheRightThing.
* EverythingsBetterWithSpinning: When she's not throwing her sword or just running at the target point-first, Braze Elisabeth's go-to swordplay is to swing her arm rapidly to spin her blade into her target.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: As seen in her final ascension art.
* FusionDance: She is the result of Lancer Elisabeth and Caster Elisabeth's fusion and has the Double Class skill (which does absolutely nothing in gameplay).
* {{Handwave}}: Her profile explains her existence[[note]]normally Elisabeth wouldn't even come ''close'' to qualifying for Saber[[/note]] by telling you not to think too hard about it.
* MeaningfulName: Probably the reasoning behind her name, if not her existence. The surname Báthory can be translated as "of brave".
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: According to her "Dragon Orb" Ascension material, Elisabeth isn't even aware that her registered adventurer name is actually "Elidrum."
* RandomEffectSpell: Her Legend of Crimson Heroine skill. At the cost of 100% NP gauge, it gives one random buff out of these five buffs (Invincibility/Heal/Attack Up/Gain Critical Stars/Self Buster Up). It's basically her second NP!
* {{Retraux}}: Elisabeth ''claims'' this is what her ChainmailBikini is. Nitocris (as well as the rest of the player party) doesn't really buy it.
* ShouldersOfDoom: Downplayed example. Her pauldrons are clearly deliberately silly, but they're ''still'' smaller than some Servants' shoulders that play this trope straight, especially genuine knights in armor. Still, they work to make her stand out as TheHero in her party with the shoulderless Nitocris and Robin Hood, and they're still pretty disproportionate and impractical: in her final Ascension, a squirrel happily takes up only half of her shoulder above an [[{{Stripperiffic}} unprotected, uncovered arm]].
--> '''Nero Claudius (Caster)''' [Conversation 5]: "...Though, [[LampshadeHanging I just don't understand those shoulder pads]]... They're like the plumage worn by those dancers at the carnival in Rio... I don't understand."
* SpellBlade: Her Extra Attack has her charging her blade with bright energy before slashing her foe.
* StealthParody: Of typical "do-good heroines who wear outrageously little armour during battle", because her top is clearly too large for her and the reason this Elisabeth even exists at all is essentially [[MST3KMantra "don't think about it."]]
The local authorities, working for Cleopatra at the time, even try to ''arrest'' her for indecent exposure. One wonders if the body type was supposed to be for an older version of her (i.e. [[Characters/FateGrandOrderAssassins Carmilla]]).
* SwordBeam: Her finisher in a Brave Chain. Looks like she embraces the philosophy of "Saber who doesn't use a beam is not a Saber".
* TemptingFate: She's gotten used to Cleopatra's pyramid after the initial shock and being kicked out but she'd rather not have another castle land on top of hers. Cue the third Halloween event where Osakabe-hime crashes her castle on top of the pyramid.
* ThrowingYourSwordAlwaysWorks: Her Buster attack involves a thrown sword.
* TookALevelInKindness: She is ''much'' nicer than Elisabeth is normally, even with the post-''CCC'' character development. Taking on the role of a chosen hero(ine) has made her into a fundamentally good person (even if she still doesn't quite understand the effect [[DreadfulMusician her singing]] has on people).
* UnskilledButStrong: She has no talent for swordplay and just kind of flails around with it. One attack of hers even has her just holding the sword out in front of her and running into people with it. Her sheer fighting spirit makes her a pretty good Saber, though.
* WingdingEyes: Her first appearance in this form features her in the corner of Mata Hari's bar wearing a sign that says "Please take me home!" She's so happy to see her puppy again that she goes ''starry-eyed'' (though her picture has hearts in her eyes instead).

->''"Hey, I'm a Saber-class Servant. I have been summoned at your request. My name is Fergus mac Róich. Let's see... is Cú Chulainn here?"''

Foster father of Cú Chulainn, knight of the Red Branch and former King of Ulster before being tricked out of his throne by Conchobar mac Nessa. He took Cú Chulainn from his mother Deichtine to serve as a soldier for Ulster. Later after Cú Chulainn returned from the land of shadows, Fergus defected to Ulster's enemy, Connacht, after his sons were killed. Spurring on Queen Medb of Connacht out of hatred for Conchobar, they went to war with Ulster, cornering Conchobar during the decisive battle. Fergus was prevented from killing Conchobar and was said to have redirected his rage over it upon three hills, using Caladbolg to cleanly blast the tops off them.\\\

He debuted as part of the Scáthach Campaign and is an antagonist in the Fifth Singularity: North American Myth War E Pluribus Unum, working under his spouse, Medb. In ''Epic of Remnant'', his child self is an ally in Pseudo-Singularity II: Women of Agartha Agartha.
----
* AbdicateTheThrone: He admits that he's not suited to be king because of how greedy he is: he wants the best booze, the best women, and for everyone to be happy at no one's expense even though that simply isn't possible. He eventually decides to hand the throne to Conchobar so he could bang Ness while escaping a responsibility he's not fit to hold.
* TheAce: Despite having members such as ''Cú Chulainn'', Fergus is referred to as the pride and joy of the Red Branch Knights.
* ActorAllusion: While fans joke about Fergus resemblance to [[Franchise/{{Pokemon}} Brock]] in looks and personality, Fergus certainly looks ''and'' [[Creator/TakayaKuroda sounds]] like [[Manga/HunterXHunter Razor]].
* AdorablyPrecociousChild: When deaged into his days as a prince with big dreams in Agartha, Chaldea is shocked to find that Fergus is sweet, serious, and awkward around women to the point of being unable to fight back against them. Even though he knows it's pointless, he tries his best to learn from each of the cities he visits in hopes of becoming a better ruler.
* TheAntiNihilist: Young Fergus gives one hell of a speech to [[spoiler:Scheherazade about how life is that much sweeter when facing the inevitability of death. That it's okay to live in fear of death as everyone does in someway. He then points out that if she lives every single moment in overwhelming fear of death to the point of being unable to enjoy anything, how is she any different from being dead? He then demands that they smile, since that should be easy seeing as they have the strength to destroy the world]]. He loses a couple of points as he now experiencing the libido of his grown self in his younger body, but it's still a good speech.
* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: He was once King of Ulster, after all, and likely got the job due to constant warfare.
* BareYourMidriff: His young version wears a vest that leaves his midriff exposed.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: His Final Ascension art suggest he's a really nice guy to hang out and have a good drink with, but his profile offers a warning.
* {{BFS}}: The original Caladbolg, unlike EMIYA's modified Caladbolg II, is actually really huge.
* BiTheWay: Like most other Servants he falls for the protagonist, who can be of any gender. He doesn't expect reciprocation and is seemingly content to simply love them. (Though his CE for White Day is a key to his room...)
* TheBigGuy: Relative to most Sabers in the game. In contrast to the relatively balanced attack cards of the rest[[note]]Most Sabers have one Quick card (for generating critical hits), two Art cards (to fill up Noble Phantasm gauges), and two Buster cards (for blunt huge-number attacks)[[/note]] his looks more like a Berserker's[[note]]which means he has three Buster cards and can positively hit massive damage when doing a Brave chain[[/note]].
* BoisterousBruiser: While the Celtic heroes are all varying degrees of BloodKnight, Fergus is closer to this trope. One of his battle quotes is simply a big hearty laugh, and during Scathach's trial quest his response to being summoned to fight Fafnir is to laugh and get eager about fighting him.
* BoringButPractical: As a 3* member of a usually-restricted class with a fun, easy-to-use skillset, a triple-Buster deck, and a good multi-target NP, Fergus is a popular go-to for players who lack higher rarity Sabers or good story-locked 3*s, and don't want to use the fancy tricks that make Gilles or Caesar useful.
* ButNotTooBi: While he is attracted to men, he generally prefers women.
* CovertPervert: While Young Fergus isn't obsessed with women and sex like his older self, he does find some to be attractive and even blushed at one point over potentially seeing [[WholesomeCrossdresser Astolfo's butt]].
* DelayingAction: In Scathach's trial quest, he agrees to delay Altera to let the protagonists and Scathach escape.
* DepravedDentist: Shakespeare summons him to play the part of one during "Chocolate Lady's Commotion" to scare Nursery Rhyme into giving back the remaining Choco Servants that she took. Fergus goes along with it, pretending to use his Caladbolg as a dental drill. He does a convincing enough job that Nursery takes off screaming.
* DirtyKid: Near the end of Agartha, young Fergus starts talking a lot more like his older self [[spoiler:due to melding with him by exploiting the simultaneously dead-and-alive state produced by Wu Zetian's Noble Phantasm and Phenex]]. He starts blathering about how curvaceous Scheherazade's body is while trying to make a point and tells her that she should hook up with his adult version so she could feel true bliss.
* DishingOutDirt: Fergus's Noble Phantasm, Caladbolg: Rainbow Sword, generates an earthquake that shatters the ground and pelts all opponents with massive rocks from beneath.
* EthicalSlut: He'll try to sleep with anyone, man or woman, but will not hit on underaged people and doesn't force anyone into anything, though Scheherazade assumed he would and the Prison Tower event had a twisted version of him that was more like that. Also, while he ''is'' married, both he and his wife sleep around a great deal and neither one even comments on it let alone caring.
* EveryoneHasStandards: He is ridiculously obsessed with sex but refuses to proposition Mash or the player, since in his eyes they are still children. But by the time White Day event rolls around, he seems to have changed his views on the player at least, as his event CE is a key to his bedroom...
* EyesAlwaysShut: A trait he had from his childhood as seen with his child self in Agartha.
* FountainOfYouth: He drinks a youth potion just before the start of Agartha and spends the entire chapter as a child.
* FutureMeScaresMe: His future as a man literally named for virility makes his younger self uncomfortable. He isn't even good at talking to girls at this point.
* HiddenDepths: He's a certified [[TheAntiNihilist Anti-Nihilist,]] who has pointed out that its not that human beings dying is the point of living, but making a worthwhile life to make the most of it.
* HeroicBuild: He's a large, muscular man and a Heroic Spirit that can help humanity.
* LovableSexManiac: His sexual urges in life were so big, he had to marry a goddess for them to be fully satisfied because otherwise it would take seven women to do the same job. And even after that, he became the one person who would satisfy Queen Medb's own urges alone. In fact, he admits that he gave away his kingdom solely to bang Ness.
* MeaningfulName: Straight from Wiki/TheOtherWiki: [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fergus_mac_Roich "The name Fergus (later Irish Fearghus) means "man-strength" or "virility", and Fergus is described as being of enormous size and sexual potency]]. Which gives a whole other level of innuendo to the design of Caladbolg.
* TheMindIsAPlaythingOfTheBody: Young Fergus acts exactly like Fergus did in his youth and doesn't retain the attitude or memories of his older self, much like Young Gil to Gilgamesh.
* MythologyGag: In My Room, if you have the regular Fate version of Cú Chulainn, he'll comment that he's excited to fight with him. If it is the Caster version, he's baffled to why he doesn't have Gae Bolg anymore.
* NotTheIntendedUse: Apparently what the hill-blasting of his legend was. When he actually uses Caladbolg's power in battle and not to take out his frustration on something, he drills it into the ground, causing massive rainbow-colored explosions and rock falls. This is actually mythological accurate, as some versions of the myth have his hill-blasting attack being a ''missed swing''.
* ParentalSubstitute: To Cú Chulainn. As one of his first teachers, Fergus essentially helped raise him and considers Cú to be his son.
* PhallicWeapon: In fact, ''canon'' as per the Ulster Cycle. Also the word Caladbolg means "hard blade". Make of that what you will. The fact that it shrinks down with Fergus when he becomes young in Agartha may or may not be a coincidence.
* RatedMForManly: Fergus's myth sounds like the plot of an R-rated action film--overloaded with violence and sex to boot.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: So reasonable he gave up being the Authority Figure in question. He realized that his flaws would only serve to ruin the kingdom. Plus he didn't really like the job anyway.
* SevenDeadlySins: A version of him appears at the Prison Tower as the avatar of {{Lust}}, where he attacks the protagonist and Dantès so he can force himself on Mercédes/Nightingale. He freely admits that he embodies the sin perfectly and is pretty okay with it, all things considered.
* ScarsAreForever: Has quite a few of them, on his chest, face and arms. Which makes sense considering his background as a warrior-king.
* ShonenHair: In contrast to the crew cut he has an adult, Young Fergus' hair is windswept and spiky.
* SmarterThanYouLook: Despite his jockish looks and attitude, Fergus is rather intelligent and perceptive. His A-ranked Mind's Eye (True) skill comes from the anecdotes about how he easily figured out that those two divine bulls were the cause of Medb's warmongering against Ulster, and would spell really bad news for Ireland as a whole. Notably, his younger self mentions being a ravenous learner whose teachers complained he was working them too hard and outstripping their curriculum, to Mash and the player's surprise.
* SpannerInTheWorks: [[spoiler:Scheherazade overshot the age she wanted him to have, making him an immature young man who's awkward with women instead of the unrestrained lustful man who'd wreak havoc that Scheherazade intended him to be. This results in him playing a vital role for destroying the pseudo-singularity.]]
* ThisIsADrill: Caladbolg, which looks less a sword and more of a spiral-designed jousting lance--until Stage 3, where it becomes more explicitly drill-like (and also more in line with Caladbolg II).
* UsedToBeASweetKid: Young Fergus in Agartha, he's very serious and kind without a bit of perversion.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: He puts on a vest later, which doesn't do much for covering his upper body.
* {{Workaholic}}: Young Fergus is constantly training in hopes of building up muscle to become a proud warrior. His adult version laments that he can only do it for show now that he's actually built up that muscle.
* WorthIt
** During the Scathach event, he tries to hit on her. She says she's willing, if he's willing to take her gouging attacks that have killed gods. Fergus says he'll do it, but only after they have dealt with the enemies they were summoned to defeat.
** In Serenity's mats profile, it's noted that Fergus tried to hit on her. When he was told that he would die if he touched her his reaction was 'Wow, no man has been able to last more than a single night with you? Sign me up!'
* WouldntHitAGirl: Young Fergus finds it difficult to fight women because he isn't used to seeing female warriors. He doesn't have any moral compunctions about it, though, and his adult form has no issue with it.
* YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre: Gives an almost Superman style form of this to Scheherazade at the end of Agartha. Almost because [[spoiler:he's currently in a bit of a paradoxical state and his younger and older self are merging. So he has the libido of his older self without all of the control. So he slips in a few sexual comments at her.]]

->''"Saber-class Servant! Frankenstein's Monster. It's summer, and now I'm not so harsh. Let's get along, 'kay?"''

Frankenstein, out of a desire to get that refreshing AC in her Master's room by winning Ishtar's race, has donned a swimsuit and gone through several modifications by her 'papa', which changed her class to Saber.\\\

An alternate version of Frankenstein who debuted in the second Summer event, "Dead Heat Summer Race / Death Jail Summer Escape." She's the main racer of team "Electric Steam feat. Papa", alongside Charles Babbage and Archer of Shinjuku.
----
* AnimalMotifs: She's likened to large breeds of dogs, especially those that have long hair, because of how lazy and sluggish she is in the summer heat.
* BandageBabe: She's got some bandages wrapped around her legs and her right arm... though they're arranged so artfully one would be forgiven for simply thinking they're ribbons. The one on her left leg even ends in a ''floral bow''. And by the time she hits her third ascension, she's wearing nothing but bandages and one sleeve, even picking up a second bow.
* {{BFS}}: Her sword is as tall as her. She uses lightning to make the blade even bigger.
* CastFromHitPoints: Fran's second skill, Hollow Lamentation to the Intense Heat, debuffs opponents in exchange of 500 of her own HP.
* CombiningMecha: Parodied with her vehicle in the "Dead Heat Summer Race" as it's just her sticking out of the top of Charles Babbage's head while Archer of Shinjuku minds the engines unseen in its interior.
* DifficultButAwesome: Fran has a really solid skillset at the cost of having demerits on all of her skills. Her first skill increases her NP gain up to 80%, but requires her to have 10% NP charge to waste away to even activate the skill. Her second skill inflicts attack down and cleanses buffs from a single enemy, but she must spend 500 HP to use it and can't be used if she has less than that. Finally her third skill increases her attack and NP strength for three turns but inflicts Burn on her for five turns.
* ImprovisedLightningRod: Her skill animation has her catching lightning with her horn to use the energy as invocation of the skills.
* {{Irony}}: Despite being a summer Servant and her vehicle being a steam train, she absolutely hates the heat. The entire reason she got caught up in everything was so she could mooch off her Master's air conditioning since she doesn't want to waste the electricity herself.
* MoralityChain: While still a Berserker, she managed to tap into Archer of Shinjuku's CutenessProximity for daughter-type characters and as a Saber continues to call him papa throughout the race to keep him in check. It works. She even gets him to play nice and apologize to Babbage for turning him into a train, which he actually thinks is kind of cool.
* MsFanservice: She's a lot more elegant simply by no longer being a Berserker, and she ends up wearing only bandages, and her final ascension art is very risque.
* OdangoHair: She's done up her originally messy hair in this style.
* PeekABangs: Her perpetual BlindingBangs have given way to this, since she's a bit more rational now.
* ReadyForLovemaking: Her final ascension art is risque even by ''F/GO'''s standards, outdoing even Swimsuit Altria's infamous art.
* RoboSpeak: Being outside of the Berserker class, her groans have given way to something between this and child-like speech (i.e., she only "speaks" in hiragana). Her speech still isn't ''perfect'', but she's significantly more comprehensible now. In the global version, she speaks normally, but she has trouble with certain word pronunciations (such as saying "Mass" instead of "Mash").
* SheCleansUpNicely: A bit funny, given that her original outfit is a wedding dress-like BattleBallgown, but definitely there. Said gown was still awkwardly fit, her hair was perpetually a mess, and she always looked awkward in her original pose. Here, without the Berserker class robbing her of reason, she's gotten her hair under far more control (taking it more into artful PeekABangs territory now) and her outfit, though a bit revealing due to being a swimsuit, is a lot more sensibly arranged for her circumstances; she also looks a lot more composed, and of course has the requisite agility and form for a Saber. The end result of it all makes her drop-dead gorgeous.
* ShockAndAwe: Her Noble Phantasm not only has a chance to stun enemies with her electricity, there's a new status effect similar to Caster Gilles' fear where enemies have a low chance of being stunned at the end of a turn from the electrical charge left in them by her NP.
* SpamAttack: Her NP gain is already very good, but her first skill boosts it by up for 80% for three turns on top of that just by sacrificing 10% charge. As a result it's very easy for her to fire off her NP over and over again. It helps that she has EX Riding for some reason, meaning she also gets an additional 12% effectiveness to both damage and NP gain on her Quick cards. As a result, she's generally considered to be one of the best new Servants from the event.

->''"My name is Chevalier d'Eon. I am the knight that will protect you and the royalty of France... Knight of the White Lily!"''

An androgynous soldier and writer who lived in revolution-era France. An accomplished spy who was capable of infiltrating high society. They normally dress as a man, but used to dress as a woman. No matter the clothes, d'Eon can appear as any sex.\\\

They appear as an antagonist in the Orleans chapter as the "Berserk-Saber" summoned by Jeanne Alter and is one of the two main allies in Agartha.
----
* AgentPeacock: Alongside being a spy and an author, d'Eon was also at one point a captain to the dragoons.
* AmbiguousGender: Historically, d'Eon was a transgender woman. In the story, this is part of their Self Suggestion skill, allowing them to change gender as they please. As such, they're treated as both genders and neither, depending on the circumstances. For example, on Valentine's Day, they can both give and receive chocolates and qualify for both male and female-specific quests during "Super☆Ghouls 'n Pumpkins." However, they do not benefit from gender targeted buffs such as Liz's Sadistic Charisma as they are coded as "genderless". They ask you at one point during an interlude whether you consider them male or female. Either response gets a mild 'Ah, so that's how you see me' with no correction, indicating they are fine with being considered either one. Strangely, Blackbeard's Gentleman's Love skill still affects them, despite supposedly only working on female characters. Even when they don the {{Meido}} outfit in Agartha, the protagonist ''still'' can't quite tell whether they're male or female even after peering closely, and mention it's probably going to remain a mystery.
* AristocratsAreEvil: During Agartha, d'Eon mentions how French nobles selfishly threw away things after using them once and how they were once like that.
* AtrociousAlias: Like Astolfo, d'Eon disguises themselves in a maid outfit in the Nightless City during the Agartha pseudo-singularity. When they get caught by the Nightless Assassin's forces and Astolfo declares himself as "Sailor Paladin," d'Eon has no choice but to follow in his silly footsteps as "Maid Knight."
* BareYourMidriff: In their third form.
* BetterToDieThanBeKilled: In Agartha when the party gets discovered by the numerically-superior Amazons while spying in a village, d'Eon briefly mentions that if a member of their French spy network asked them what to do in this situation, they would say to shout "Vive la France!" before taking a cyanide pill. Of course, d'Eon and the others are no mere spies, so they have no issue just fighting their way out.
* BiTheWay: d'Eon is interested in both genders. Amadeus considers them part of the group in love with Marie and they don't deny it, but they also confess their love to the protagonist, who can be of either gender.
* CovertPervert: d'Eon gets excited when Marie mentions that she believes that everything she eats will go to her breasts rather than her waist.
* CripplingOverspecialization: d'Eon's strength lies in being able to tank and survive, with their NP and skills all being designed for stalling or tanking on top of having higher-than-average HP for a 4*. However, d'Eon's offensive power is incredibly poor thanks to having nothing that buffs their Attack, which is already low amongst 4*s in general. As a result, d'Eon is really only good at tanking, and pretty bad everywhere else.
* DanceBattler: d'Eon's second Noble Phantasm, which is mentioned in [[AllThereintheManual Fate/Grand Order Material I]], is described as a beautiful sword dance. They uses it in Agartha against the Amazons.
* FlowerMotifs: After their animation update, d'Eon's attacks and Noble Phantasm have a lily motif, befitting their loyalty to the House of Bourbon.
* HeelFaceTurn: From an evil aristocrat to loyal knight of France.
* {{Meido}}:
** During Agartha, as part of the party's infiltration of the Nightless City, they quickly nab whatever clothes that fit them in an empty house, resulting in this outfit for d'Eon. d'Eon is noticeably mortified by it, as well as Astolfo's comments about the outfit's purpose when they mention they snatched it and the SailorFuku out of someone's [[{{Fetish}} bedroom]].
** They don this outfit once again in the Summer 2018 event as Gilgamesh hires them as one.
* NinjaPirateRobotZombie: Even in real life, d'Eon was a spy, writer, and knight who took on the roles of men and women to defend the royal family.
* OverlyLongName: Charles-Geneviève-Louis-Auguste-André-Timothée d'Éon de Beaumont. There's a reason it only comes up once, and otherwise d'Eon is just called by their surname.
* RoyalRapier: Armed with one, since d'Éon was born into a noble family and served the French royal family.
* SkilledButNaive: Many French Servants, including Marie Antoinette, often tease d'Eon for being too earnest for their own good. Amadeus even wonders how someone so easily swayed and innocent could be a spy.
* {{Squee}}: d'Eon does have a moment of this early on in Agartha - they grew up reading about Charlemagne and the Paladins, so getting to fight shoulder-to-shoulder with Astolfo the Paladin is like stepping into a childhood story. [[spoiler:Especially relevant, for Agartha.]]
* StarterMon: In addition to Mash, d'Eon ''was'' one of the ten available 4* Servants that can be summoned from the Starter Summon. Among the ten, d'Eon and Siegfried were the two 4* Sabers. However, in JP as of July 3rd, 2019, the number of Starter Servants has been increased up to 14 and d'Eon is replaced by Suzuka Gozen.
* StoneWall: Has very high HP, which goes well with their defense/evade buff and their taunt skill. Coupled with their debuffing Noble Phantasm, this guarantees that they'll be taunting and absorbing all enemies' attacks. That said, [[SituationalSword this is pretty much the sole purpose they have]].
* StraightManAndWiseGuy: In Agartha, d'Eon is the StraightMan to Astolfo's wise guy as the pair are the master's Chaldean-native escorts. An early example of their relationship is shortly after meeting Fergus -- Astolfo starts ''dancing'' with Fou after noticing Fou's "snazzy footwork" while d'Eon stays in the back as a proper bodyguard.
* TakingTheBullet: Has a taunt skill, which pairs with the above evasion skill to let them completely negate enemy attacks.
* UndyingLoyalty: To all members of the French royal family ([[ShipTease especially Marie]]) and to the protagonist who is treated as royalty by d'Eon.

->''"Servant, Saber. Diarmuid Ua Duibhne of the Knights of Fianna. Allow me to let you serve as a knight."''

This Diarmuid ua Duibhne comes from another world different than the world of ''Grand Order'', using his two infamous demon swords instead of his two demon lances. He is the same person as the Lancer version of him from ''Fate/Zero'' but he has a different Saint Graph than him. He made his debut with the ''Fate/Zero'' crossover event rerun with his Interlude explaining the circumstances of his peculiar summoning.
----
* AlternateSelf: He is a Diarmuid with a different Saint Graph than the one from ''Fate/Zero''. As explained in his Interlude, Saber Diarmuid has to merge his Saint Graph with the Lancer version to come to Chaldea. Holmes makes the observation that the two sharing it but having different consciousnesses is something akin to [[Characters/FateGrandOrderAssassins Jekyll and Hyde]]. During the fourth New Year event after he defeats a ghostly Musashi, he briefly reverted to his Lancer form out of exhaustion.
* BadassCape: He gains one after this third ascension.
* BareYourMidriff: He wears an outfit that completely exposes his stomach.
* BloodKnight: In contrast to the Lancer version of him, the Saber version has a greater desire to fight strong opponents like Altria as a Celtic warrior.
* ContinuityNod: In ''Fate/Zero'', during their first duel, Lancer Diarmuid said that any Heroic Spirit that cross through time would be able to tell that Altria is King Arthur because of the golden radiance of her sword Excalibur, in the end of Saber Diarmuid's Interlude, he immediately realized that Altria was King Arthur through her sword, even through Saber Diarmuid is not the same individual as his Lancer version and this was their first meeting.
* CoolSword: Both Moralltach and Beagalltech applied for this trope as they are once in possession of Celtic god of the sea Manannán, especially Moralltach, since his profile states that is Diarmuid's strongest Noble Phantasm, defeating his enemies with one strike of certain death infused with Manannán's power.
* DiscardAndDraw: As a Saber, several of his Lancer self's abilities have been exchanged for others.
** His Love Spot is sealed away, and he gains a skill that boosts his defense and NP generation.
** His Noble Phantasm can only remove defensive buffs and can't inflict curse, but it has a chance to insta-kill the enemy.
* DualWield: He uses Moralltach and Beagalltach in battle as a Saber, and in life, he used Moralltach and Gáe Dearg for life-and-death adventures and during times of peace, he used Beagalltech and Gáe Buidhe. His extra section of his profile stated that had he brought Moralltach and Gáe Dearg with him to his last hunt with Fionn instead of the latter pair, he would had lived a long life.
* EarlyBirdCameo: Was first seen in the TV trailer for the Fifth Singularity: North American Myth War E Pluribus Unum, but didn't make his debut in Japan until September 2018, over 1 1/2 years later.
* FashionableAsymmetry: He embraces this openly come Stage 3--with a fabulous half-cape that would even make his lord Fionn jealous. And let's not forget that those swords are quite unequally-sized, adding to the motif.
* NeverTrustATrailer: He is shown in the commercial for the Fifth Singularity: North American Myth War E Pluribus Unum fighting Billy the Kid, but it's actually the Lancer version who appears in the actual story.
* TookALevelInBadass: Implied, especially indicated with the increase in rarity rank. Not only are his in-game unit's stats higher, his skillset is also better-tuned to his card layout and Noble Phantasm--meaning he can cause damage and survive way better than his Lancer counterpart. Coincidentally, this trait of performing better in the Saber class (compared to other alternate classes) also characterize another fellow Saber--Lancelot (and their legends even seem to be [[PlotParallel genealogically-related]]).
* WorthyOpponent: To Abarta, one of the kings of the Tuatha Dé Danann. Inside the ''Fate'' universe, Abarta, the Gilla Dacker, and Abarta's knight [[CompositeCharacter are the same person]], so the duel he had with Diarmuid, who was using Moralltach and Gáe Dearg, left such an impression on him. His overwhelming desire for an rematch with him created a shadow of himself, and followed Saber Diarmuid from his world to the simulator in Chaldea, i.e. within the world of ''Grand Order''. Said shadow can only be defeated by a swordsman, so Lancer Diarmuid was not able to kill it, despite being stronger than it.
* YourSizeMayVary: The swords Moralltach and Beagalltach are portrayed as reasonably-sized gladius/Iron Age-type swords when Diarmuid is at Stage 1 and 2--only growing/modified into hand-and-a half/bastard swords come Stage 3. For some reason, however, their sizes in Diarmuid's sprite are consistently larger than what the in-art Saint Graph portraits suggest.

->''"My name is Altera. ...I am the hun and I am a warrior serving the God of War."''

Altera (known at the time as "UsefulNotes/AttilaTheHun") was the monstrously powerful warrior-queen of a great barbarian empire that reached from West Asia to Gaul in the 5th century. She was regarded as the arch-enemy of the waning Roman Empire, and although she failed to conquer Rome itself, the damage her armies caused to the Empire significantly hastened its eventual collapse. It was said that Altera lived on the battlefield, where her intuition, dispassionate ruthlessness and terrifying acts of power earned her titles such as "The Scourge of God", "The Divine Punishment" and "The Queen of Combat". As a Servant, she prefers to be known as "Altera".\\\

She made her first appearance in ''Grand Order'' as an antagonist in the Rome chapter, originally to coincide with the release of ''VideoGame/FateExtellaTheUmbralStar'', where she is a main character (though the timing got skewed when ''Extella'' was delayed by a few months). She later appears as an antagonist during the "All the Statesman" event in ''Grand Order''.

----
* AbsurdlySharpBlade: Her sword is described as being able to destroy "any and all existences" on Earth due to being a powerful Divine Construct wielded by an ancient god of war. It's so powerful that she's surprised during her battle with Scáthach, wondering how the latter's Gáe Bolg Alternative is able to hold up against it without being destroyed.
* {{Adorkable}}: She has her moments, such as in her second Interlude where she remembers one of her old names Etzel. If the protagonist states it sounds cute, she starts [[LuminescentBlush blushing]] while denying that, and it's so adorable even Siegfried agrees with the others about it.
* AlternateSelf: She and the Altera of ''VideoGame/FateExtellaTheUmbralStar'' are canonically different beings. [[spoiler:The difference is that she is personally the remnants of Sephyr the "Giant of Destruction" mentioned to have existed and fought the Gods in ''Fate/Grand Order'' 14,000 years ago, while ''Fate/Extella's'' is an avatar of the original that represents one aspect of herself.]]
** The version of her in the "All The Statesmen" event seems to be [[spoiler:a fully intact Velber, though how she got in the Singularity is unknown. She does help Bunyan go back with Chaldea to their timeline, though.]]
* AmbiguouslyBi: She is established to have been married to Kriemhild during her lifetime in her second Interlude, but Altera's recollection of such events are scant due to being caught up in conducting warfare and it's hard to say whether Altera actually had affection for her spouse or if it was just a purely political match with no affection.
* AmbiguouslyBrown: Much like most depictions of the historical Attila, she has a vaguely dark skin tone.
* AmbiguouslyHuman: She was found with her sword by the Huns in ancient West African ruins, she has a compulsive urge to kill people, her sword is custom-made to destroy civilizations, and she's personally intimate when she's speaking to or about Mars. Artemis even breaks character when speaking to her, calling her vile and a scourge to this world. [[spoiler:She's actually a humanoid alien superweapon which fell to Earth 14,000 years ago.]]
* ArrangedMarriage: Her marriage to Kriemhild (Siegfried's wife) was a political move arranged by her followers (and Kriemhild went along with it for her {{revenge}} on Siegfried's killers), though Altera did come to be fond of her anyway.
* BeethovenWasAnAlienSpy: She's not quite human. Even outside of her strange appearance and mannerisms, it's been said that the Huns only found her, alongside her very anachronistic sword, among ruins of unknown origin. [[spoiler:It's revealed that she's the human-sized version of an alien superweapon in ''VideoGame/FateExtellaTheUmbralStar''.]]
* BloodKnight: Subverted. She seems like it, but in truth it's because she's instinctively a warrior. She actually hates the fact she can't do anything except make war.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: She's the final boss of Septem because something triggered her robot mode. The party seems a little disappointed because she's ''almost'' rational enough to speak to, but not quite.
* BrokenRecord: She keeps introducing herself over and over as "the Great King of Destruction who will destroy the Western World" when they try to talk with her in Chapter 2. Dr. Roman believes that it's because fusing with a Holy Grail has overloaded her mind.
* CatchPhrase: She tends to describe things she likes as [[MemeticMutation "good civilization" and those she dislikes as "bad civilization"]].
* CharacterExaggeration: Since she's already a major, serious character in another game and there's already quite a few "AmbiguouslyHuman, expressionless badass" characters originating from ''Grand Order'', Altera is mostly employed as a gag character outside of a few serious moments in the main story. Even before her "All the Statesman" and Christmas event debut, she appears during Blackbeard's Valentine's Day return gift cutscene solely to 1) slice him in half, letting the protagonist make a joke about [[spoiler:Lev's fate]] earlier in Septem and 2) to make another "[[CatchPhrase bad civilization]]" joke.
* DesperatelyLookingForAPurposeInLife: Her profile claims that despite her achievements, there was an air of lack of purpose in her, such that it seems that she would want to wish to the Holy Grail to find what life is like outside that of a warrior.
* TheDreaded: She's considered a monstrously powerful Servant, being able to lay waste to multiple armies led by Servants with ease after being summoned in the Septem singularity, with later ascensions implying that the Servant container couldn't possibly allow her to showcase her full power. She's particularly feared and reviled by Roman Servants, as her arrival in Europe was a decisive factor in the fall of the Roman Empire. Artemis drops her silly act in the Moon Viewing event, freaks out at the fact that Altera is around, and immediately tries to have the protagonist get rid of her. Even Scáthach knows her as a "Great King of Destruction", only being able to force a stalemate despite being extremely overpowered in her own right.
* DoNotCallMePaul: She requests certain people to not call her "Attila", but "Altera". She has a very special reason for why she prefers to be called Altera but she's not sure how most people are going to react. [[spoiler:''Fate/Extella'' reveals that "Altera" is her true name after all, "Attila" being given to her by the Huns when they found her.]]
* EarlyBirdCameo: According to Nasu, she was created for ''VideoGame/FateExtellaTheUmbralStar'', but that game took a lot longer to develop than ''Grand Order'' did. So her crossover cameo ended up happening over a year before her "true" first appearance.
* EmotionlessGirl: Only in battle, though. Otherwise she is merely TheQuietOne.
* EverythingsBetterWithRainbows: Has a crown-like ornament made of lights in her official artwork and her rainbow styled sword.
* FinalBoss: Of Septem. She was summoned as a LastBreathBullet by [[spoiler:Lev to destroy the Singularity and the heroes.]]
* ForTheEvulz: An odd example. She actually doesn't like killing people, but she enjoys destroying things and civilizations in particular. Though this is technically [[spoiler:her mission as the White Titan]], she didn't remember this when she was 'Attila' and was seemingly motivated by a simple desire to see the world burn.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Her true nature revealed in ''Fate/Extella'' is referenced numerous times in-game before the game's reveal and release.
** Several Divine Spirit Servants are wary of her as they know what she truly is.
** Altria Alter notes that her existence is different from that of most Heroic Spirits in her second Interlude.
** The Lion King told her knights in Camelot of a [[spoiler:Giant of Destruction that attacked 14,000 years ago.]]
** Several Divine Spirits (like Stheno) show satisfaction that she [[spoiler:has grown beyond her nature as a weapon]] in Solomon.
* GenderFlip: One of the most visually prominent cases, as Attila is no longer a muscle bound man like Iskander but a {{Stripperiffic}}, [[GlacierWaif waifish]] warrior instead.
* GoOutWithASmile: [[spoiler:After she is defeated in the final battle of Rome she finds that the idea that there's something she cannot destroy a happy one and smiles before she fades away.]]
* HumanWeapon: [[spoiler:She was designed by an alien star called the Velber to destroy civilization]]. Her Hun followers basically just pointed her at the enemy and served more as handlers than subordinates.
* IHaveManyNames: There's her historical name of Attila, her preferred name of Altera, and Etzel from the Nibelungenlied, which nobody uses but was brought up once in her second Interlude.
* JackOfAllStats: Her stats are all very balanced, with the lowest being a B and the highest at A+, but her stat spread also makes her more defensive than usual. In-game, she's a reliable Saber for both single and multiple targets thanks to her [=AoE=] NP's defense debuff, her upgraded Natural Body's Star Absorption buff, and her Crest of the Stars skill which gives her critical stars and an attack buff.
* KickTheSonOfABitch: [[spoiler:Altera's first instinct after being summoned by Lev with the Grail is to bisect him from head to groin as part of her destructive impulses.]]
* KillSat: Her true Noble Phantasm is "Teardrop Photon Ray: Sword of the War God" (as seen in ''Extella''), where she uses her sword to channel a light of destruction from Mars, incinerating her enemies. She uses this in the battle against [[spoiler:Flauros in Solomon's temple]]. It's even implied at its strongest it can destroy the entire world.
* LaserBlade: Wields what can only be described as a triple-bladed lightsaber. [[TechnicolorBlade Really colorful]].
* MistakenIdentity: The three [[Characters/FateGrandOrderLancers Valkyries]] mistook her for one of their sisters and tried to link her with their HiveMind before realizing their mistake.
* ModestRoyalty: Her clothing is more for combat then being royal.
* MoodRingEyes: While they always stay red, her strange white pupils turn darker when she feels down.
* MysticalWhiteHair: She has very odd pure white hair and a very mysterious backstory. It's rather difficult to tell where her hair stops and her veil begins.
* MythologyGag: In her second Interlude, she acknowledges her marriage to Kriemhild.
* NoSell: While nearly every other Servant in Chaldea collapses from an underworld disease spread by Ereshkigal, Altera is unaffected due to a combination of her Natural Body skill and an resistance to Earth type illnesses. Unfortunately, when she class changes to Archer, she loses a lot of this resistance, meaning she spends a lot of the event with a fever affecting her personality.
* NoSocialSkills: She's very robotic in her interactions and has trouble expressing herself. While she wonders if this is tied to the mystery of what she really is, the protagonist just tells her that she's awkward. She admits that even when she was alive her allies would tell her the same thing.
* RecurringBoss: During the "All the Statesmen" event, she is fought in almost all of the parts under different identities. During Parts 1 through 3, she is there to substitute for different American figures (Wyatt Earp, Buffalo Bill and Davy Crockett). In Part 4, she is used as a host for [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbia_(name) Queen Columbia]]. She isn't fought in Part 5, [[spoiler:as Titan Altera actually comes to you and decides to help you.]]
* RedBaron: She has a few but the one that keeps popping up the most in promotional materials and in-game is "Scourge of God". [[spoiler:Her title as Velber-02 is "The White Titan".]]
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Unlike most Servants who have these because of Divinity ranks (or Mad Enhancement), she lacks either of these attributes, adding to the sense of "wrongness" about her.
* RequisiteRoyalRegalia: Her [[CoolCrown tiara]].
* SemiDivine: Although she has no divine ancestry, she has this trait because she is known in legend as the Scourge of God.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS:
** Though Altera is her ''real'' name, Attila is equally valid as a name. But she admits to finding the former name cuter in a rare moment of emotion.
--> ''Please call me Altera. Attila... doesn't sound cute."
** In RealLife, Attila's name has been spelt ''A'''t'''i'''l'''a'', ''A'''tt'''i'''ll'''a'', ''A'''t'''i'''ll'''a'' and ''A'''tt'''i'''l'''a''.
** Altera could also be Artera, Artela or Altela, though Creator/XSEEDGames, for their localization of ''VideoGame/FateExtellaTheUmbralStar'' has chosen to go with Altera and the localizers for the English release of this game have gone with this, making it the official spelling.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: She wades across battlefields in what's basically a bikini. She sheds even more of it for later Ascensions. Of course, [[spoiler:as she is not even human, she doesn't care about the amount of skin exposed.]]
* ThemeMusicPowerUp: As part of the promotion for ''Fate/Extella'', she had her theme music from ''Extella'' plays for the animation.
* ThisIsADrill: When using her Noble Phantasm, Photon Ray: Sword of the War God, the blade of her sword starts spinning like a drill, followed by a charging thrust.
* WomanInWhite: Her first ascension is the most overt about this, but her outfits involve white the most.
* WhipItGood: The Sword of Mars can be used like a whip for mid-range attacks, which was first seen in her playable appearance in ''Fate/Extella'' and was then implemented into Grand Order in an animation update for her.

->''"I ask of you, are you my Master?"''

Altria is perhaps the most iconic character of the ''Fate'' franchise, and, at least in this universe, the true identity of the legendary warrior-king Arthur, under whose reign Britain enjoyed a brief respite from the chaos tearing the rest of Europe apart. She originally wielded the Caliburn, the sword she extracted from a stone as proof of royalty, but after its theft she received her main weapon, the Excalibur, and later Avalon, from the Lady of the Lake.\\\

She appears as one of your Servants in the tutorial. She also, naturally, plays a significant role during the ''LightNovel/FateZero'' crossover event, and does briefly appear in this usual form during the first Summer event, "Chaldea Summer Memory / Heat Odyssey," before circumstances dictate she [[Characters/FateGrandOrderArchers change into something more comfortable]].

----
* AnimalMotifs: The lion, on account of her power, bravery, leadership and royalty, as well as it being a heraldic symbol of England, as well as the dragon, which was personally attached to the more-or-less RealLife Arthur.
* ArtEvolution: The ''LightNovel/FateZero'' event crossover update also gave her new attacks and NP animations.
* BadassAdorable: While more beautiful and dignified than actually cute, her sincere and honest personality is very endearing; along with that, she also has many {{Adorkable}} moments in the series.
* BalanceBuff: Her Rank Up Quest upgraded her Intuition skill to the Radiant Road skill, which charges her NP gauge on top of giving her critical stars (not unlike the Pioneer of the Stars skill--or, for that matter, Lancelot's own Knight of the Lake skill). She's now much better when it comes to farming or, if maxed, the popular Merlin/Waver support strategies, which allow a powerful first turn NP with any starting CE.
* BattleBallgown: She wears a puffy dress underneath her armor.
* BlowYouAway: She uses Strike Air in her new attack animation.
* TheCameo: Altria is always included in Fuyuki banners during Singularity Summoning Campaigns, despite the fact that she never appeared in said Singularity. However, she did show up as one of the three Servants featured in the tutorial battle.
* CharacterDevelopment: She's moved past her desire to use the Grail to either redo her reign or choose another to take her place, which was her primary desire in ''Fate/stay night'', as shown in her Interlude. She still has her regrets, but she's now satisfied that she did the best she could.
-->"My battle was not the correct salvation for everything--but I am certain it wasn't a mistake."
* CoolSword: Excalibur, of course! Forged by the fae to be the greatest of Holy Swords and the crystallization of glory itself, it is nearly unrivaled among Anti-Fortress Noble Phantasms with its combination of activation speed, firepower, and range.
* DemotedToExtra: Her alternate forms have played the role of a primary antagonist in three different forms and one as a primary ally, but she has yet to appear in her unaltered form in any story chapter. Her only appearance has been as part of a brief flashback by Bedivere. Even in events, the only important part she's played in this form has been in Face/Accel Zero Order - while the Altria in "Chaldea Summer Memory" is basically this Altria, the one we know and love, [[Characters/FateGrandOrderArchers she changes class and appearance into something a bit more fitting for the event]] and in the process [[CharacterExaggeration becomes even hungrier for food]] and sillier.
* DragonAncestry: Is infused with dragon's blood thanks to Merlin's magic. It actually gives her a huge mana supply. In-game, she and all of her alternate selves have the Dragon Trait.
* GenderBender: In her backstory, she was turned into a pseudo-male so she could get married. According to Nasu, this is where she got her sexual experience. It also contributed to her downfall, since Morgan stole some of her semen and used it to make Mordred.
* GenderFlip: The TropeCodifier for the franchise; she's the true identity of Myth/KingArthur in this universe, though she was recorded by history as male.
* GiantPoofySleeves: Blue, poofy sleeves under her armor.
* GuardianEntity: Her material profile reveals that she isn't a person that can be summoned normally as a Heroic Spirit (presumable due to being in Avalon), but the World has allowed Chaldea to summon her in order to act as a Guardian Spirit.
* HairDecorations: Her blue ribbon, which presumably keeps her PrimAndProperBun in place.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Beautiful, kind and feminine (despite what she thinks of her own physique), with golden hair in a small bun.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: Altria is one of the three main heroines of ''VisualNovel/FateStayNight''.
* HiddenDepths: As seen during Valentine's Day events, Altria is a surprisingly good confection maker, preparing the protagonist a intricately detailed crown made entirely from chocolate.
* IdiotHair: The original wielder of the mighty ahoge in Fate-dom. Saber Wars even treats it as an ''element''.
* JackOfAllTrades: On paper, Altria is this. Her Skills are built around providing a party-wide Attack buff, some stars for extra crit damage, and a powerful Buster buff to her AOE Buster NP, which compensates for her rather average Attack. Her deck is the standard QAABB deck for Sabers, and while she doesn't have many hits on her Arts cards her NP gen is sufficient that she can reliably charge it up, with her NP Overcharge refunding some of her gauge for easier access and high HP to survive long enough to do so. Altria is well-rounded enough that she can reliably work in just about ''any'' team composition available to her. The problem is the fact that [[MasterOfNone her well-rounded nature makes her very easy to be overshadowed by other Sabers whose specializations eclipse her]].
** With the release of Rank Up Quest Campaign IX, Altria's new ability to charge her NP Gauge has shifted her playstyle in favor of quick farming and clearing mobs.
* LadyOfWar: Graceful, demure and elegant master of the sword.
* {{Leitmotif}}: Her NP plays a snippet from "[[https://youtu.be/8q6uShocSFg?t=54 Excalibur]]" from ''VisualNovel/FateHollowAtaraxia''.
* LoveMartyr: She loved her knights more than they loved each other and often vouched for Merlin's character whenever his eccentricities put him in the hot seat.
* MaleMightFemaleFinesse : While her male Prototype counterpart's animations consist of a series of powerful strikes, her animations consist of graceful and elegant swordplay.
* MythologyGag:
** Her My Room dialogue has her stating that the protagonist truly is something special for being able to contract Gilgamesh, noting that his ability is without peer but his behavior... not so much. She hopes they'll have better luck with him than her.
** Her dialogue for EMIYA has her fondly and sadly reminiscing about him while [[LuminescentBlush blushing]], noting that no matter what, he'll always be fighting. It would seem she remembers well the ''[[VisualNovel/FateStayNight Fate]]'' route.
* NotSoDifferent:
** It turns out she's not that different from her Alter version. In her Interlude, she trains the protagonist by making them go through a BossRush, just like Alter's Interlude. It seems she also made Merlin release some monsters for her people and knights to fight, something that Alter often muses on doing.
** In a comical spin of this trope, the ''Fate/Gudaguda Order'' DramaCD reveals that her treatment of Mordred is no different from how ''Kiritsugu'' treated her in ''LightNovel/FateZero''. Unlike him though, she at least has the decency to tolerate Mordred and speak to her when needed, but not without a hint of subtle annoyance and complete dismissal of Mordred once the conversation's done.
* OutOfFocus: Remarkably, the only time this regular Altria appears for the entirety of the game's main storyline run in the first two years of ''Grand Order'' was in a ''flashback'' by Bedivere in Camelot. At the very least, most of her alternate forms have had more screentime than her.
* ParentalNeglect: Within ''FGO'', Altria is shown to be very cold and distant towards her child Mordred and she is sometimes depicted to outright hate her. Since she never raised Mordred and only knew about their relation in the later parts of Mordred's life, plus Altria wasn't the mother who gave birth to her, Altria feels little to no parental attachment towards her child. The fact that Mordred led the rebellion that brought Camelot to ruin and mutually killed her doesn't help at all. Most of Altria's other versions feel the same towards Mordred, with her Lily version being the notable exception.
* PerpetualFrowner: In her original life. Bedivere is driven by the memory of her smile. The ''singular'' memory.
* PowerCreep: As one of the first 5* Servants in the game, her vanilla skillset and stats made her inferior amongst her peers. Many other 5* Sabers introduced after her either could do the same things only better or had specializations or unique niches that make them superior to her. The only thing she had going on was her high [=AoE=] damage after her NP upgrade, but even her Alter form who is a rarity lower than her could beat her damage output for a lower cost. She had to wait until the tenth Rank Up Campaign to receive another upgrade, three long years after her debut. Said upgrade gave her an NP Charge skill, which significantly improved her performance as a farming Servant.
* PowerLimiter: It's revealed in her interlude that like the ''Prototype'' version of Excalibur, her sword also has thirteen seals put upon it that restrains its full potential. However, unlike the Prototype version, there's no need for a voting process as she can remove them one-by-one by herself. Her interlude focuses on meeting the requirements for the "one's comrades-in-arms should be champions" oath. She has never been able to use its full power thanks to the rather demanding restrictions.
* RedBaron: "King of Knights" or "Once and Future King".
* {{Retcon}}: Her Excalibur was never mentioned to have a PowerLimiter on it in the form of the thirteen seals, like her ''Prototype'' counterpart. Originally the only limits Excalibur has was a combination of the massive mana cost to use it, and her Master's own power to allow her to use it.
* SealedEvilInACan: Part of her Interlude to powering up Excalibur is to make the MC and Mash into "Champions". She does this by releasing some daemons and a dragon for them to fight; that she had sealed away long ago. (When Roman complains that King Arthur was never said to have the power to summon, she mentions that [[AWizardDidIt Da Vinci gave her a magic scroll for that purpose]]).
* SecretSecretKeeper: During the "Fate/Accel Zero Order" event, she figures out that [[spoiler:Galahad is fused with Mash]] simply by getting a good look at Mash's shield, but doesn't tell the party out loud.
* SeriesMascot: She is literally the face of the game as the app icon, is the most iconic Servant and TYPE-MOON character with ''eleven'' alternate versions in this game (with even ''more'' incoming), and appears the most in advertising. She shares this role with Mash, Jeanne, her male counterpart, and Fou, but she has no relevant appearance within the main story...yet.
* SoreLoser: Altria ''despises'' losing in anything, not that she'll ever admit it. It peeks out ever so slightly during her second Interlude when she mentions that Servants aren't interested in their own strength. Mash points out that she sneaked the word "very" into that statement with a very tiny voice, causing her to blush and ask Mash to keep that to herself.
In this game, "Altria" is used as mandated by Type-MOON, which is especially noticeable considering that the other most recent localized main Fate entry that features her, ''VideoGame/FateExtellaTheUmbralStar'', has used "Artoria". To throw in further confusion, [[http://fategrandorder.wikia.com/wiki/Cool-Mint_Chocolate_Bullet?file=Portrait_CE_0740.png Altria Alter's swimsuit version's]] chocolate from the next Valentine's event has "Artoria" inscribed in the case, which was later changed to read "Altia" instead.
** This is acknowledged in a bit of {{Woolseyism}}[=/=]stealth TakeThat upon the NA release of Shinjuku. In the original Japanese, a line of dialogue outright says that Saber's name Artoria is the feminine form of Artorius, and that it sounds fine and graceful. In English, her name remains Altria but is stated to be "a corruption" of the feminine form of Artorius, and that it fits a corrupted Saber, since she is Saber Alter at present.
* StoneWall: Altria's Attack is relatively average, but she boasts the second highest HP out of all the Sabers, being only beaten by Ryougi Shiki. That said, she can still put out impressive damage thanks to her Charisma and Mana Burst skills.
* SwordBeam: Her Noble Phantasm, [[WaveMotionSword Excalibur]]: Sword of Promised Victory, the franchises' definite TropeCodifier. The ''GUDAGUDA Order'' drama CD makes a gag of this trope by having Altria declaring that Sabers without beams are not Sabers and she demands from any aspiring Saber newcomer to mention the ''color'' of their beams during their (job) interview.
* ThemeMusicPowerUp: A snippet of ''VisualNovel/FateHollowAtaraxia's'' version of "Sword of Promised Victory" plays in the background when she uses Excalibur.
* TrueBlueFemininity: Her clothing choices contain a lot of blue and white, and despite what she thinks of herself, she is definitely a LadyOfWar.
* WaveMotionSword: Her Excalibur shoots a giant, golden beam that hits all enemies. Her Noble Phantasm's Overcharge effect recharges her NP Gauge by 20% to 50%, making it easier to spam.
* TheWomanWearingTheQueenlyMask:
** She alienated several of her knights because though she loved Britain, she did not allow her emotions to visibly affect her behavior and didn't show any of her flaws. As a result, Lancelot thought she was inhuman though admirable, Mordred thought she was hated for her connection to Morgan, while Tristan stormed out of Camelot after proclaiming that the king did not understand the hearts of men. All three of them regret their actions to some extent. Lancelot doesn't want to stop being a Berserker because he feels he's just a mad dog for what he did, Tristan's words are his greatest regret and Mordred seems to understand her father better, though she still wants to compete with Altria.
** Funnily enough, though, [[spoiler:this is something Agravain ''admired'' about her and is part of the reason he held her as an ideal ruler who was worthy of commanding his undying loyalty.]]

->''"...I have come in response to your summon. Are you the one who is to be my Master?"''

An alternate version of Altria Pendragon, the King of Knights. This Altria has been corrupted by "All The Evils In The World", transforming her into a heartless tyrant. She shows no hesitation in using the ancient dragon mana within her body that Altria forbid herself from using, boosting her strength significantly. From a certain perspective she could be considered a different person, but perhaps this is the true "ideal ruler" persona that Altria attempted to use as King of Britain: a god-like monarch who leads her people with absolute strength and conviction, with no hesitation or emotion to influence her judgement. Yet even the King of Knights possesses doubts and insecurities about the path she followed, and this corruption has forced those contradictions to outwardly manifest in a darkened and corrupted form.\\\

----
* AnimalMotifs: She is more strongly associated with the dragon compared to the original Altria. From her debut route in ''VisualNovel/FateStayNight'', ''Heaven's Feel'', her "alteration" was invoked by the Grail awakening her "dragon blood", which makes her more ruthless in battle and a hardier opponent than before. Her armor's corruption is subtly invoking dragon scales to make this connection. And indeed, her Bond 10 Craft Essence is basically her inner "dragon engine" overclocking her attacks and NP power.
* AntiHero: Nasu and Creator/GenUrobuchi refute the notion that Saber Alter is an outright villain, instead calling her a dark hero. This aspect of her character is ''much'' more obvious in the Shinjuku chapter and the events where her Rider versions come into play. Her final Bond level even states fundamentally her objective and ideals haven't changed, but now she simply sees things like oppression as valid paths to reach her goals.
* ArmorIsUseless: As she ascends, she loses more and more of her armor, culminating in her gothic dress, inspired by her 10th anniversary doll. Subverted as indicated by her average HP stat among 4* Servants, especially compared to her vanilla counterpart who has one of the highest HP stats in the game.
* ArtEvolution: The Shinjuku update gave her a massively updated sprite, changing her greaves into high-heel greaves and giving her substantially updated animations. It was added shortly after the release of the London chapter for the US.
* BattleAura: Altria Alter is constantly wreathed in an aura of black and purple mana.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: Her subjects wanted a more "human" king. Altria Alter is more honest with her emotions and is deceptively easier to approach as a result. She is also sharp-tongued, selfish, promiscuous, violent, and has a seething contempt for all of her knights.
* BigEater: Compared to normal Altria, she just seems to want to eat lots of junk food.
* BikerBabe: Despite lacking the Riding skill as an Alter, she shows up on a motorcycle in Shinjuku, complete with a new biker outfit consisting of a black hoodie, T-shirt, and [[WhoWearsShortShorts short-shorts]]. This serves as the basis for her second Rider version during the second Summer event.
* BlackSwordsAreBetter: Her Excalibur becomes black with a red pattern on it, and in gameplay far outshines the original version, dealing 450% damage at level 1 in contrast to the original's 300% (even Altria's NP upgrade only buffs it up to 400%). It isn't actually any stronger in lore, though.
* BreakoutVillain: Altria Alter started out as a secondary antagonist in the ''Heaven's Feel'' route, but has reappeared in ''VideoGame/FateUnlimitedCodes'', ''VisualNovel/FateHollowAtaraxia'', ''Manga/FateKaleidLinerPrismaIllya'', and other spinoffs. In ''Grand Order'' she has three variants (two of them being the same class!), appears as the main antagonist of Singularity F: Flame Contaminated City Fuyuki, a major ally role in Shinjuku, and tends to play a large role in events, either as a go-to antagonist or as one of the stars ("Almost Weekly Santa Alter" and "Dead Heat Summer Race" being the examples of the latter). She's actually more prominent than her own vanilla self, who's been DemotedToExtra.
* CanineCompanion: In Shinjuku, Altria Alter finds herself being constantly followed by a white dog she eventually names "Cavall II" after her favorite dog in life, and despite herself she starts opening up to it. [[spoiler:Even with the Singularity ending and her returning to the Throne, she still takes a moment to stay with Cavall and express regret she couldn't take it with her, stating her hopes that the dog can find a new master worthy of its loyalty.]]
* ClingyJealousGirl: She has some mild shades of it in Shinjuku, where it's fairly obvious that she's taken a fancy to the protagonist. One particular bit of mention goes to a moment where they praise Mash, causing her and Jeanne Alter to fall into envious silence. When the Archer of Shinjuku teases them about it they react violently and [[spoiler:Holmes]] amusedly suggest that he not willingly kick that particular beehive.
* CombatStilettos: For her third ascension, she swaps out her armored boots for a far less practical pair of high-heeled ones, to go with her dress.
* TheComicallySerious: Her main role in events. Whether it's as a Santa, a swimsuit maid, or some form of enemy, Altria Alter will take all the wackiness in stride and even contribute while maintaining her usual cold demeanor.
* CompositeCharacter: Possibly. Jeanne Alter accuses her of being a copy of [[http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Vortigern King Vortigern]], Altria's Uncle, an evil king who had drunk the blood of a dragon and thus became draconic.
* CoolBike: She has a black-armored motorcycle in Shinjuku that seems to take cues from the Yamaha V-Max her vanilla self had in ''Fate/Zero''.
* CoolMask: She has a mask that covers the upper half of her face, and armor in the shape of fangs that covers her chin and jawline. She loses this after Stage 1.
* TheCorruption: She is the result of Altria being corrupted by Angra Mainyu's cursed black ooze, though her profile indicates that this drew out her suppressed negative emotions. %%That the protagonist can summon her without resorting to Grail mud indicates she is a different aspect of the "Altria Pendragon" Heroic Spirit overall or that she can be summoned in a blackened state.
* CreativeSterility: Downplayed. Altria Alter lacks creativity, something demonstrated subtly throughout Shinjuku, where it is largely other characters coming up with plans that she herself cannot, the reduced rank of her Charisma, and her tendency to eat the same foods over and over. She also just renames things [X] II, rather than coming up with new ones, like naming her sled as Santa Alter "Llamrei II," or her dog in Shinjuku "Cavall II."
* DeathGlare: Her expression is almost always fixed in a stern scowl.
* DefrostingIceQueen: When her bond is maxed out, her My Room dialogue shows that she has no problem sharing her food with her master, despite the fact that there is only one piece left. She also said that it's because she has acknowledged the protagonist as her master. Her fourth ascension ever so slightly hints that she may have developed feelings for the protagonist as well; asking if they know what fate awaits them now that she's stripped off her armor for them.
* DoubleUnlock: She can only be summoned from the story banner after completing Singularity F: Flame Contaminated City Fuyuki.
* DragonAncestry: Altria was infused with the power of a dragon, something her normal self kept suppressed. Altria Alter's SupernaturalGoldEyes are a result of her dragonic power being unleashed by her blackening.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness:
** What makes her stand out among [=AoE=] Buster Sabers is her unusual high damage modifier on her Noble Phantasm. It has a modifier of 450% at [=NP1=], making it far stronger than any other [=AoE=] Buster NP (300%) even after their upgrade (400%).
** While several characters receive multiple versions throughout the history of the game, no two versions share the same rarity ''and'' class at the same time (not counting Prototypes), except Altria Alter and Altria Lily who are both 4* Sabers. As mentioned below, Altria Lily's stats are much closer to a 3* Servant's and she's mainly a 4* for aesthetic purposes rather than gameplay.
* ElegantGothicLolita: Her civilian clothes are a black and white gothic dress, as seen in her Stages 3-4 art. In the game's story, she wears it for a dance party in Shinjuku.
* EvilMakeover: Her clothes and sword turn [[RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver black and red]], her eyes turn [[SupernaturalGoldEyes yellow]], her skin and hair become deathly pale, and her prana turns black and purple.
* FinalBoss: Of Singularity F: Flame Contaminated City Fuyuki. The anime adaptation upgrades her to the ArcVillain, as she's the one who defeated and corrupted all the other Fuyuki Servants with the exception of Caster Cú Chulainn, and now leads them in protecting the corrupted chalice. [[spoiler:According to Lev, though, she should have completed the Singularity before Chaldea arrived and had already all but ''won'' with the only resistance left being Caster Cú, especially when compared to the other Singularities where resistance is far more numerous, implying that [[SpannerInTheWorks she intentionally held back]].]]
* {{Foil}}: A number of events involving her rivalry with Jeanne Alter play this up. Both are EvilCounterpart characters to major heroines, both are aggressive and somewhat crude, and both are not as evil as they outwardly seem and have something of a silly side. The difference is that Altria is laid-back, cold, and dignified, while Jeanne is loud, short-tempered, and goofy.
* GlassCannon: MightyGlacier characterization aside, she's this trope in-game with middling HP but high ATK for her rarity (she's barely in the top 10, but above even some 5* Servants), a purely offensive skillset, and a very overtuned Noble Phantasm that ''starts'' at a 450% damage modifier instead of the usual 300%, making her NP stronger than even those that have had an upgrade from an Interlude or Rank Up Quest. One consequence is that Alter's NP does almost the same damage as her higher rarity non-Alter form's despite lower base ATK!
* GracefulLoser: She takes her defeat in Fuyuki quite well, even smiling at and acknowledging her opponents as she fades away. Subverted and PlayedForLaughs in future appearances (almost always in silly events) where it's implied that she remembers her defeat and is a bit stingy about it, such as in the beginning of "Always Weekly Santa Alter."
* HandBlast: With her animation update, one of her attacks has her charging and firing a burst of dark energy from her hand in a powerful blast.
* HeadbuttingHeroes: She's constantly dissing and picking fights with Jeanne Alter in Shinjuku, forcing the protagonist to break it up before they actually start going to town on each other. At the end of the event, though, it's suggested that Altria actually does care about her.
* HeWhoFightsMonsters: Altria Alter remarks on the irony that she was born to overthrow her tyrannical uncle Vortigern, only to become a tyrant herself. To add to the parallel, Vortigern had black armor and dragon blood.
* InstantArmor: In Pseudo-Singularity I: Shinjuku Phantom Incident Shinjuku, she's seen instantly putting on her armor like her normal counterpart.
* MightyGlacier:
** In comparison to plain Altria, her armor is much heavier and denser, which greatly penalizes her Agility stat but makes her a far more implacable and strength-focused fighter. In-game, this translates to having a lower-ranked Charisma and Instinct, but a higher damage modifier on her NP.
** In comparison with other 4* [=AoE=] Sabers, Altria Alter is the slowest when it comes to filling up her NP Gauge. While her NP hits harder than the others and her face cards also hit quite hard thanks to her high ATK, her lack of charge skills or NP Gain buffs makes her slower compared to her peers, due to her average NP Gain stats and only having two hits on her Arts cards. Siegfried and Altria Lily have skills that increase their NP Gain, the former has it even on his NP on top of his skill, Nero and Suzuka have NP Charge skills, Lakshmi Bai's Quick-orientated deck and higher NP Gain stats make it easier for her to fill up her gauge compared to Altria Alter, and even Gawain with his triple-Buster deck has an NP Charge skill.
* MundaneUtility: Altria mentions that she never learned to dance in her life, but she's able to use her Intuition skill to figure out how to do it on the fly when she dances with the protagonist in Shinjuku.
* MythologyGag:
** Her being a BikerBabe in the Shinjuku chapter is a reference to a comment Nasu made in the TYPE-MOON Ace 7 magazine.
--->'''Nasu''': Then after defeating [Saber] Lily in battle, Alter would jump on a motorbike in the last scene and ride off into the sunset.
** Her new animations came from ''VideoGame/FateUnlimitedCodes'', with her Extra Attack updated to "Vortigern: Hammer of the Vile King".
* NobleDemon: She's still evil-aligned, but she'll serve you faithfully as a Servant.
* OhCrap: In ''First Order'', she has a frustrated realization that she severely underestimated her opponents as the Excalibur Morgan beam is reflected right back at her.
--> "It can't be! That shield is..."
* PaintItBlack: Her armor and sword turn black and red as a result of her blackening.
* PerpetualFrowner: Altria Alter's expression is nearly-always a constant disapproving scowl.
* PetTheDog: Despite her corruption, once in a blue moon she does display hints of her old self through the anger and coldness. Her second Bond level even states that deep down she still is the same person, but her Master has to dig deep to reach it. Happens almost literally in Shinjuku, where she befriends an actual dog. The end of Shinjuku also has her, after spending an entire event of sniping at Jeanne, suddenly showing great concern when it seems like Jeanne might die.
* PretenderDiss: During her Interlude, she calls Jeanne Alter a mere shadow of the real Jeanne d'Arc. Jeanne Alter fires back Altria Alter is nothing but a clone of Altria's "cowardly" uncle King Vortigern.
* RedBaron: Tyrant of Knights or the Dark-Tainted Tyrant.
* RedOniBlueOni: The Blue to Jeanne Alter's Red. In any situation where the two are interacting, it's almost a given that Altria Alter maintains a calm and collected air (even while throwing insults) while Jeanne Alter will be shouting about something while barely holding back her anger (usually at Altria Alter's passive-aggressive taunts).
* SecretKeeper: Her Interlude implies she already knows [[spoiler:the Heroic Spirit Mash is bound to is in fact Galahad, as she states that he would have enjoyed relishing the fear of death]], but she just doesn't feel like telling them.
* SexyBacklessOutfit: Her gothic dress is this, though it's hard to see in her battle sprites and is only really obvious in her final Ascension art.
* SNKBoss: She's the hardest Memorial Quest Boss from Part 1. She has two Break Bars, each of her three health bars have far more HP than any other boss with break bars (especially those bosses you need to deplete all of their health bars), her attacks do serious damage, she can debuff the your Servant's DEF with her attacks and she's eventually able to charge her NP Gauge multiple times.
* SocialDarwinist: Alter hates weak people. She especially hates people whose minds are weak, because if their mind is weak then they simply have no good use in them. That's why she can't comprehend the protagonist, who is weak but capable of summoning her. After all, if they can summon her, that means they're strong, right? She eventually decides that the protagonist is strong, they just need some training.
* SpannerInTheWorks: Implied after her defeat in Singularity F: Flame Contaminated City Fuyuki, as [[spoiler:Lev notes that she kept the Singularity going for longer than necessary and her own words to Mash and the Protagonist imply she ''wanted'' them to defeat her]]. Doing this is [[spoiler:ultimately what would allow you & Mash to ''save all of mankind'']]. Makes sense given that Altria, even as an Alter, still values mankind, so letting mankind be wiped out clashes heavily with her as a being. She also helps Mash understand her powers as a Demi-Servant better, and it thanks to her that Mash first awakens the use of her Noble Phantasm, even if not the full power of it.
* SpellBlade: Her updated sprite spams Vortigern: Hammer of the Vile King, a technique where she wreaths her sword in dark mana but doesn't fire it, instead using the increased range and power to cause more damage.
* TheStoic: Altria Alter is aloof and callous in her mannerisms and speech.
* SupernaturalGoldEyes: Altria Alter's eyes turn gold instead of their normal green, due to her Dragon Blood awakening as a result of the violent nature forced upon her by The Shadow.
* SwordBeam: The power of her Noble Phantasm, Excalibur Morgan: Sword of Promised Victory, fires a blast of dark prana from her sword. After her animation update, it gets the same "pillar of light" appearance as Altria's Excalibur, albeit a "[[PaintItBlack pillar of darkness]]".
* SwordPlant: After her animation update, every time she uses her skills she plants her sword into the ground while releasing a burst of dark prana around herself.
* ThatManIsDead: Claims that she is no longer King nor Knight, only the Servant of the protagonist.
* TinTyrant: Altria Alter is both a BlackKnight and a [[SheIsTheKing king]]. Her moniker is even the "Dark-Tainted Tyrant".
* TokenEvilTeammate: Prior to Suzuka Gozen (released during SE.RA.PH a bit before the second anniversary of the game) and Queen Medb's Summer version (another year later in the third Summer event), she was the only Saber in the game who had the Evil alignment. Downplayed greatly whenever she's actually a playable ally (granted, often in silly events) where she rarely ever does "evil"; she's more like token snarky aloof ally and in Shinjuku is probably the most blatantly heroic ally ([[EvilDetectingDog as signified by Cavall II]]).
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Hamburgers. She asks for them in My Room. It's to the point where the chocolate she gives for Valentine's is shaped like a hamburger and she specifically sets up base in the basement of a hamburger chain restaurant in Shinjuku.
* TranquilFury: Altria Alter is usually depicted as being filled to the brim with Angra Mainyu's murderous rage and hatred, masked behind stern, callous apathy. However, suppressing this bloodlust decreases her Charisma. As a player-summoned Servant without a direct connection to Angra Mainyu, this aspect fades ''somewhat'', but she's still very cold and stern and does not suffer fools gladly, even for a moment. {{Lampshaded}} by Jeanne Alter in Shinjuku, where her most common insult towards Altria Alter is "ice bitch queen."
* UnholyHolySword: Excalibur is a sword that was crafted by faeries of both good and evil natures. As such, when wielded by Altria Alter, it takes on its darker form - Excalibur Morgan. She still refers to it as a holy sword. Jeanne Alter makes fun of this fact in her My Room lines, as she finds the idea of a pitch-black holy sword weird.
* WhenSheSmiles: It's ''very'' rare, but she does give the protagonist an approving, satisfied-looking smile at points as a playable Servant and during Pseudo-Singularity I: Shinjuku Phantom Incident Shinjuku, and getting them feels like a moment of triumph every time.
* TheWorfEffect: As powerful as she is, she's taken down in moments by [[spoiler:Galahad, who reflects her Excalibur Morgan back at her with his Lord Camelot]] in the ''-MOONLIGHT/LOSTROOM-'' OVA.
* WorthyOpponent:
** She seems to view Mash and [[PlayerCharacter the protagonist]] as this by the end of their battle during ''First Order'', [[spoiler:even giving them a hint about the "[[ArcWords Grand Order]]" before completely fading away.]]
** In her first Interlude, she views Jeanne Alter as this as well, which is specifically why she brought the protagonist there to fight her. In her second Interlude, she views Altera similarly... or more specifically, her [[CoolSword Sword of Mars]] as such, desiring to see which of their Noble Phantasms is stronger.

->''"It is nice to meet you, Master. Since I am still in training, please call me Saber Lily. I look forward to working with you in the years to come."''

The younger version of Altria Pendragon, who has just drawn out Caliburn, the sword of selection, and is just embarking on her journey to becoming the King of Knights. In contrast to her older self, she is lovely, innocent, youthful and idealistic... and still a tad half-baked as a knight.\\\

She was the game's pre-registration prize, and was later the main companion and free Servant of "Saber Wars".
----
* ArmorIsUseless: Like her Altria Alter version, as she ascends, she loses more and more of her armor. Also subverted like Altria Alter, as Altria Lily's HP stat is on the lower side of the 4* spectrum.
* AscendedExtra: She first appeared as an alternate look for normal Saber in ''VideoGame/FateUnlimitedCodes'', but wasn't given a backstory beyond jokingly being suggested to be the result of Saber succumbing to Caster. ''Fate/Grand Order'' gives her a BelatedBackstory and makes her into one of the main characters.
* BadassAdorable: She's not as strong as her 'adult' form and tends to be more timid and inexperienced, but she's still superhuman with a powerful sword, though it's quite fragile.
* BalanceBuff: Her Rank Up Quest upgraded her NP damage while also increasing the healing value of her Overcharge. This makes her much more viable for farming, but not much else. Altria Lily is also the first free event Servant to receive a Rank Up Quest.
* BelatedBackstory: In in the TYPE-MOON Ace 7 magazine, Gen Urobuchi suggested that Saber Lily was a LightIsNotGood counterpart to Saber Alter Altria, an alternate version who sided with Caster in ''Unlimited Blade Works'' and embraced her femininity after being 'broken' by Medea. It's later shown that she's simply a version of Altria who has just drawn the sword from the stone but hasn't matured enough to be king yet.
* ADayInTheLimelight: She is the main character of the "Saber Wars" event.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness:
** In the series of welfare Servants of 4* rarity that are given for free for limited-time events, she's an artifact of her time. First, she was distributed to players as a promo Servant who pre-registered into the game before ''FGO'' was launched, but with only one copy for a level one Noble Phantasm until "Saber Wars" ([[LeaningOnTheFourthWall which is lampshaded during the event]]). Her stats are too low for a 4* Servants and are much closer to a 3* Servant's and she's also the one of two welfare Servants to have different looking Ascension stages like regular Servants, whereas every other welfare Servant keeps the same appearance, and having non-exclusive Ascension materials like any other Servant -- the other exception being Paul Bunyan. She's also the only welfare Servant to be re-released in a different event since her premier ("Saber Wars") which also gives five total copies of her so players can upgrade her to max NP level by the end of the event even if they didn't pre-register (and giving other players their first spare welfare card).
** While several characters receive multiple versions throughout the history of the game, no two versions share the same rarity ''and'' class at the same time (not counting Prototypes), except Altria Alter and Altria Lily who are both 4* Sabers. As mentioned above, Altria Lily's stats are much closer to a 3* Servant's and she's mainly a 4* for aesthetic purposes rather than gameplay.
* FantasticallyIndifferent: At the beginning of "Saber Wars," she's much less phased by [[InsistentTerminology a meteorite (or more accurately spaceship)]] falling from the sky than Mash and the protagonist.
--> '''Lily''': "It appears to be a meteorite. It must have fallen from the sky. No need to worry. I don't detect any radiation, killer viruses, or any other variety of dangerous substances. You two really overreacted. This kind of thing happens all the time, and is completely harmless."\\
'''Protagonist''' [dialog option]: "What's going on? This kind of thing happens a lot!?"\\
'''Lily''': "Well, yes. The other Servants say that it doesn't, but when I'm alone it happens pretty often."
* FlowerMotif: Lilies. They're prominently featured in all of her ascension art, and even in her April Fool's art.
* GroinAttack: Caliburn's beam hits a spot on the enemy that tends to be the same height as their groin. [[AscendedMeme Acknowledged]] in "Saber Wars", where most of her training with Caliburn consists of repeatedly shooting poor Blackbeard in the balls.
* ICantDance: Humorously, in My Room she mentions she's dances great with women, but can't do the same with men for the life of her.
* IdiotHair: Like her older self, but is more notable by her childlike innocence.
--> "By the way, what is Altrium?"
* InSeriesNickname: Her name is shortened to just "Lily" during the "Saber Wars" event.
* LeaningOnTheFourthWall: In "Saber Wars," Lily is implied to have canonically joined Chaldea near the very beginning of the story just like she would have joined players' rosters at the start as part of the pre-release campaign. "Saber Wars" finally lets her upgrade her Noble Phantasm, and starts with her mentioning that hers is completely unupgraded, just like the one welfare copy received during the campaign. She and Mash have formed an "Unenhanced NP Alliance" since Mash hasn't progressed in the story far enough for an NP upgrade either.
* LighterAndSofter: She's an innocent and feminine alternate version of Altria who is still a novice swordswoman. The original Altria wasn't anything like that, even before she drew Caliburn from the stone.
* MasterOfNone: She's considered the worst 4* Saber in the game due to her very low stats for her rarity[[note]]since she's from the game's early period when free units were going to be "weaker", her stats are more like a 3*, but because she has those stats at level 80, even Grail Ascension can't help her because she has fewer levels to grow with[[/note]], iffy skills and a Noble Phantasm that is only somewhat valuable because players can get it to [=NP5=] for free.
* MoralityPet: Despite hating all Saberfaces and vowing to kill all Sabers, Mysterious Heroine X becomes touched by Lily's innocence and refuses to attack her, instead training her. Ultra Heroine Z even accuses X of becoming soft for this.
* SwordBeam: Her Noble Phantasm, Caliburn: Golden Sword of the Victorious, produces a ray-like beam from its tip that causes a barrage of explosions upon striking.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Altria Lily is the Girly Girl to all other Altria variants and Mordred. Altria Lily is by far the most feminine version in terms of personality. This is especially notable when compared to original Altria, who in her youth didn't act feminine at all.
* TwoGuysAndAGirl: During her early adventures, she was accompanied by Merlin and Kay.
* WomanInWhite: To represent her pureness before she was burdened as the King of Knights.
* YoungerAndHipper: She is very chatty and prone to smiling and blushing. Compare this with her "older" version (vanilla Altria).

->''"I am Saber. A servant- who will protect you, protect the world."''

The King of Britain, Lord of the Round Table, and the Once and Future King, and wielder of the holy sword of the planet. His true identity is the King of Knights of a parallel universe, who reached this world chasing after a certain powerful antagonist. He is a completely different person from the Altria Pendragon whom he shares similar, if slightly different, pasts and legends with.\\\

Originally called Archetype Saber, he is the version of Saber that was to be used in the original ''Fate''. He then became the main character for ''Fate/Prototype'' and ''Fate/Prototype: Fragments of Sky Silver'', the reimagined versions of the original drafts for ''Fate/stay night''. He debuted for White Day 2017 as a limited Servant.
----
* BadassCape: Just like his comrades of the Round Table, he has one after his third ascension.
* BalanceBuff: His Instinct was buffed via Interlude to Dazzling Journey EX. The buff now doubles the amount of crit stars he drops, and he gains a 30%-50% crit damage buff. This makes him incredibly strong damage wise now, because 30 crit stars is usually enough to get someone enough to land crits, so as long as he doesn't have someone with a high crit star absorb rate on his team, he can soak them up and deal high crit damage.
* {{BFS}}: Excalibur ''Proto'' is ''quite'' a bit bulkier than the large in length claymore that is Altria's Excalibur, and its equal in that regard. However, a fair bit of the additional bulk ''does'' come from the Restraints of the Round Table.
* BigEater: He loves to eat, but he's also good at cooking, or so he claims. It turns out to be true, as revealed in his Valentine's Day return gift.
* {{Bishonen}}: ''Of course.''
* BlowYouAway: Just like Altria, he utilizes Invisible Air to conceal Excalibur for his first stage. He also releases it as his Extra Attack after a Brave Chain.
* DavidVersusGoliath: He literally has this as his third skill - it applies a Special Attack against "Super Giant" enemies (such as dragons, Calydonian Boar-type pigs, Demon Pillars, or other enemies that are too big for the screen normally). This is because in life, he fought against giant monsters like Vortigern to protect his people. Most of his comrades can't keep up with him when he's fighting enemies like these, hence the lack of Charisma in his skillset.
* DeclarationOfProtection: Just like in ''Prototype'', when he's first summoned:
--> "I'll protect you. I'll protect the world. I'm your Servant, Saber."
* DimensionalTraveler: In his Trial Quest, he stumbles upon the protagonist after hopping dimensions. This is how he met Dr. Roman before the events of the game. He also knows he has to achieve certain requirements before he's able to travel to the next dimension.
* FriendToAllChildren: Gets along well with Nursery Rhyme and Jack as both reveal he likes to tell them stories and is even okay with Jack climbing up on him without getting mad.
* GameplayAndStorySegregation:
** Lore-wise, his Excalibur has several seals that prevent him from using the SwordBeam function. In game, one of said seals automatically unlocked is Bedivere's, which only happens when fighting against opponents more powerful than him. Yet, in gameplay one can use Excalibur Proto against even the weakest of foes.
** In his artwork and sprites, Excalibur Proto loses its sheath/seals by Stage 3/4. Yet whenever he uses his Noble Phantasm, [[DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment the animation restores it before unlocking it again]].
* GratuitousEnglish: He shouts, "Yes, my Master" upon activation of Excalibur in his White Day outfit.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: One of the main characters of ''Fate/Prototype'' and ''Fate/Prototype: Fragments of Sky Silver''.
* HunterOfMonsters: He's not actually from this universe, but seems to be dimension hopping in pursuit of one of the Beasts. He also deals bonus damage against "Super Giant"-type enemies such as dragons or demon boars.
* IAmNotLeftHanded: Excalibur Proto differs from its ''stay night'' counterpart in that there are 13 restraining seals for its full powers.
* IdiotHair: Can't be King Arthur without one in the Nasuverse (unless you're Saber or Lancer Alter).
* InTheHood: His default art.
* IneffectualLoner: Downplayed compared to some examples out there, but it's revealed in Arthur's first interlude that he's basically this. He's friendly towards everyone in Chaldea, but he makes a point to never truly get close to anyone because of his mission to hunt down the Beast VI takes priority and that he'll eventually have to leave once it's done. He eventually grows out of this however thanks to the Protagonist's influence.
* KnightInShiningArmor: He meets all criteria of this: handsome, wearing (literal) shining armor, and very chivalrous. His profile states that he would be the kind of hero children dream about and Takeuchi has referred to him as the ideal protagonist of the '90s era.
* MaleMightFemaleFinesse : While his female counterpart's animations have graceful and elegant swordplay, his animations consist of an array of powerful strikes.
* MustMakeAmends: ''Materials V'' states that, specifically, he feels responsibility towards Brynhildr and Jekyll's situations, and in particular their unstable Spirit Origins. He has a similar view towards Ozymandias, though in Ozymandias's Second Interlude, it's revealed that the exact reason Arthur's avoiding him is regarding his situation making him privy to sensitive information he can't yet divulge, and knows Ozymandias won't appreciate that -- and, if the pharaoh felt slighted enough to pick a fight, Chaldea would likely end up destroyed.
* MyGreatestFailure: He is reluctant to reunite with any of his former opponents from his very first Holy Grail War due to how he helped facilitate their deaths for what he thought was a noble cause only to find out that he was grossly deceived and that they and all their Masters were killed for nothing. Said foes and allies don't actually begrudge him for that, but Arthur has a hard time forgiving himself, going so far as to disguise himself when joined the third Nero Fest because he knew that Arash, Ozymandias, and Brynhildr would be present at the Event.
* MythologyGag:
** He confuses Altria's voice with Merlin in My Room, because in his world, Merlin is a woman who has the exact same voice.
--> "I just heard a voice. Is Merlin here? Eh? Altria? So that wasn't Merlin? Their voices were very similar so I thought it was her."
--> "Merlin is here? Oh my, this world's Merlin is male. I guess that kind of thing happens."
** In his Trial Quest, he reminisces about Ayaka Sajyou. It is implied that Arthur comes here after the events of ''Fate/Prototype''.
** He has several comments for his fellow Servants from ''Fate/Prototype: Fragments of Sky Silver''. He refers to Jekyll as Berserker since that was his class in ''Fragments of Sky Silver''.
** He looks happy when seeing a fellow member of the Round Table, even if they're from a different world. For Mordred though...
--> "This world's Mordred sure is cute."
* NiceGuy: The most striking difference between him and his counterpart. Arthur is unerringly chipper and supportive in contrast to Altria's more reserved nobility. This is because of his interaction with a young Ayaka during ''Fragments of Sky Silver'' where talking to her made him realize that there was simply ''no sense'' in spending his days mourning Camelot when the world his kingdom left behind was still there to protect, something he carries into ''Fate/Prototype'' proper and a realization Altria sadly had no equivalent of in ''Fate/Zero'' until her interactions with Shirou in ''Fate/stay night''.
* OlderAndWiser: Physically at least he's several years older than Altria and has a corresponding increase in maturity.
* OneHeadTaller: Compared to "vanilla" Altria, he's exactly one head taller.
* OneManArmy: The reason why he isn't packing Charisma is because he would simply rush to the front lines whenever there was trouble and wipe out the entire enemy army before any of his knights could get a swing in. In his interlude, he takes on Proto Cú, Mordred, Hassan of Serenity, Jekyll, and Arash on at the same time and has plenty of strength left over to fight off Ozymandia's sphinxes and Romulus.
* PowerLimiter: Arthur in ''Prototype'' cannot use Excalibur outright, as the sword has twelve Restraints of the Round Table placed upon it. Each seal has a specific condition to unlock it based on the battle it is being used in, with a greater number of seals unlocking more of Excalibur's power; at least six must be unlocked to unleash his WaveMotionSword attack. In-game, leaving out Gareth's seal which is currently left unstated[[note]]Sir Kay, Gaheris, Palamedes, and Agravain have been confirmed as people who placed seals in other material; presumably, they are not included due to their current absence from the game[[/note]], the others seals released are:
** ''"The battle must be against an opponent stronger than oneself."'' - Bedivere
** ''"The battle must not be against an elemental."'' - Lancelot.
** ''"The battle must be against evil."'' - Mordred.
** ''"The battle must not involve personal gain."'' - Galahad.
** ''"The battle must be to save the world."'' - Arthur.
* RazorWind: Invisible Air, the very same one that Altria uses herself.
* SetRightWhatOnceWentWrong: Much like Altria, Arthur desires to save Britain. But as revealed in the prequel novels, the way he goes about it differentiates the two. Whereas Altria initially wishes to redo her rule and later changes it to wishing someone else had become king, Arthur desires to create "an eternal kingdom of peace where the people no longer have to suffer"... which carries over as part of the Lion King's motivation in Camelot. [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]] in that in his first Grail War, Arthur determined that the present day and its future were far greater causes to fight for, thus he abandoned his wish to change the fate of the Britain he knew.
* SharpDressedMan: White Day 2018 gives him an outfit change, setting him up on an immaculately white suit. He also wears a different, black-color tuxedo in the "[[https://grandorder.wiki/images/5/5b/Portrait_CE_0764.png Star of Camelot]]" limited Craft Essence.
* SheathStrike: In his Second Ascension, Arthur fights with his unsheathed sword.
* ShoutOut: Should you have him and Ruler Altria, Arthur is unnerved by Altria's bunny motif, telling her that "You are definitely misunderstanding what a rabbit is." He leaves without saying anything else and is implied to be terrified, referencing [[Film/MontyPythonAndTheHolyGrail Rabbit of Caerbannog]].
* SuperPrototype:
** [[JustForPun Pun from his home storyline aside]], Arthur has higher Strength, Endurance and NP than Altria (with lower Mana and Luck and equal Agility), and his version of Excalibur is multi-hit [=AoE=], also carrying with it an automatic NP damage buff. Altria's standard version from ''VisualNovel/FateStayNight'', by contrast, deals flat damage--and only her Alter version can deal multiple hit-damage, with no buffs at that.
** Lore-wise, he's also this. His Excalibur has a difficult activation rule: he must undo its Restraints of the Round Table every time he fights. While in a normal clash or at lower undone seals Altria's Excalibur is superior, if he manages to undo 7 of the 13, his Excalibur becomes an ''EX-ranked'' NP that can defeat an Anti-World Noble Phantasm.
* ThisLooksLikeAJobForAquaman: Arthur has an [=AoE=] Noble Phantasm, but his third skill significantly boosts his damage against "Super Giant" enemies (which usually take up the entire screen and enemy formation as a single foe at a time); the ideal situation where he's preposterously strong instead of average with a situational niche rarely ever occurs. Thus this trope has blatantly happened a few times:
** In his Trial Quest to promote his limited-time arrival, the final battle is against ''two'' Super Giant Demon Boars at the same time.
** The second Challenge Quest of the first Summer event rerun pits the party against ''seven'' giant boar enemies at once. This is basically the only time since his Trial Quest that multiple Super Giant enemies have been seen in a single map and all of them are Berserkers, one of the two classes he has an advantage against. This is about as subtle as adding a flashing neon sign above the quest reading ''USE ARTHUR HERE''. They only way to telegraph it harder would have been to make them Lancers.
* UnfinishedBusiness: During his Trial Quest it's revealed that Proto-Merlin has sent him on a quest across the multiverse to hunt down the City Eater, a being that Arthur had defeated twice in the past (implied to be either Manaka or the Beast of Revelations) and is currently trying to revive once more. Naturally, this has also led to a lot of speculation about what might be in part two of the ''F/GO'' story.
* VaguenessIsComing: Arthur is on the hunt for the Beast of Revelation, with Proto-Merlin strongly hinting that his quest is tied to the [[TitleDrop Grand Order.]] What it entails for the game in the future is anyone's guess.
* WaveMotionSword: It wouldn't be King Arthur without ''[[PunctuatedForEmphasis EX...]] [[CallingYourAttacks CALIBUUUURRRRR]]!!!''
* WellDoneDadGuy: As outlined in his ''Materials'' entry, this seems to be the state of his relationship with Mordred. He's fully aware that she's not strictly ''his'' child, but he "can't ignore her" and is said to speak to her often.
* YouAreNotAlone: During his Interlude he ends up on the receiving end of this from the Protagonist and several of his acquaintances from his home series as they remind that he doesn't have to face the Beast VI on his own and that they're ready to assist him when he needs it. Arthur takes this to heart and in turn begins to open up more to everyone in Chaldea.

->''"Saber, Bedivere. Henceforth, I shall become your Servant. I believe that is for the sake of my king."''

The longest-serving Knight of the Round Table, having seen service from its early days, having worked as steward of the royal court and Altria's caretaker, to its tragic collapse after the Battle of Camlann, having attended to the mortally-wounded Altria. He was the only normal human among the knights of the Round Table, an excellent general who possesses superior sword skills, despite only having one arm.\\\

He debuted as the main ally in the Camelot chapter, given as its free Servant upon completion.
----
* ArtifactOfImmortality: [[spoiler:Excalibur kept him physically alive for 1,500 years. However, while his body survived, his soul slowly burnt out under the strain.]]
* ArtificialLimbs: His right arm is clearly artificial and made of silver, and according to his profile it makes up ''10 kg'' (a little over 22 lbs) of his stated 88 kg weight. [[spoiler:It's the hidden form of Excalibur which was transformed into a form that Bedivere could use, the arm itself being based on Airgetlám, the silver arm used by the war god Nuadha of Myth/CelticMythology]]. His April Fool's art turns it into a spiked PowerFist, and Mordred in her updated My Room lines expresses enough interest in it to want to "borrow" it.
* AscendedExtra: He only appeared in the "Fate" route's ending and Garden of Avalon alongside all the other Knights of the Round Table and became one of the main characters for Chapter 6.
* TheAtoner: [[spoiler:In the sixth singularity, he states that he is fighting his former comrades-in-arms as penance for having failed to throw Excalibur back into the lake, just like in the original myth, and felt ashamed for failing to fulfill his last duty. Plus, said failure also caused Altria to fall victim to the power of Rhongomyniad.]]
* BadassCape: Just like the other Round Table Knights, as he ascends, he gains a fabulous cape.
* BadassNormal: Unlike the rest of his peers of the Round Table, his excellent swordsmanship is his sole feat and he doesn't have any special powers. [[spoiler:For the entirety of chapter 6, he ''isn't'' a Heroic Spirit incarnated as a Servant, he's the actual Bedivere taking on Phantasmal Beasts and Servants. At the end of Camelot, when he's given to you as a Servant despite it not being possible because his soul completely eroded away, Mash speculates that it's because he managed to become a Heroic Spirit for all of his feats that he accomplished in the singularity.]]
* BalanceBuff: His Noble Phantasm was buffed via Interlude. The base damage was upgraded as well as the Overcharge effect now giving him slightly higher Buster damage. Both of these combined means that a hypothetical NP 5 Bedivere if Overcharged to max, deals a an extra 200% base damage, with a 20% more powerful Buster buff, allowing to deal very high amounts of single target Buster NP damage.
* BattleButler: Bedivere was not only Altria's general, but also her majordomo and valet. [[AllThereInTheManual Character Materials IV]] even states that his original design was modified for FGO in order to make him appear more butler-like.
* {{Bishonen}}: One of the prettiest Knights of the Round alongside Tristan.
* BoringButPractical: Considered by many to be one of the best Sabers in the game due to having a not super flashy, but very practical kit overall. He has a Noble Phantasm damage booster, a Noble Phantasm generator that buffs his already solid Magic Resistance upwards of 50% at max, and a team wide defense boost that also increases his own debuff resistance again, on top of a Noble Phantasm that buffs his Buster damage for a turn, and deals heavy single target damage. Use his Noble Phantasm during a Buster chain alongside his Noble Phantasm damage increase skill, and you have a very strong Saber who can cut down most foes with no difficulty. He also has the highest attack among 3* Sabers, meaning he hits very hard naturally. Most people agree that he is the best 3 Star Saber because of all this, and he has a spot in many players teams as a result.[[note]]The amount of single target Buster NP Servants for Sabers is fairly low outside of the 5 Stars. Rama is the most readily available non-event 4 Star Saber but his strength comes from his Anti-Demon niche. This means Bedivere has a niche that is very hard to fill and thus he can punch above his rarity because his main competition for his playstyle are 5 Stars.[[/note]]
* BreakoutCharacter: Prior to his appearance in ''Grand Order'', he was only really shown briefly in the ''Fate'' route of the original ''VisualNovel/FateStayNight'', where he really only had a few lines. The Camelot Singularity turned him into one of the most beloved Sabers in the game afterwards for how well handled his role in the story was handled and how good he is gameplay wise. He might not be as popular as characters like Jeanne Alter or Ereshkigal, but he stands as an incredibly popular Saber thanks to his role in Camelot.
* CastFromLifespan: Each use of his silver arm in Camelot gives him incredible power, to the point he can match the power of the other Knights of the Round Table despite their own blessings empowering them, but each use takes its toll on both his body and soul. [[spoiler:It had been doing that for hundreds of years before this point, but its repeated uses accelerates the process dramatically.]]
* ChickMagnet: His good looks, competence and demeanor made him very popular in life.
* CompositeCharacter: For most of Camelot, we are made aware that Bedivere as he appears with his odd artificial arm is ''not'' how he was in life. (For reference, [[https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/typemoon/images/c/c3/Bedivere_front.png/revision/latest?cb=20130531223623 this is how he looked]] within the closing pages of the original ''VisualNovel/FateStayNight'''s ''Fate'' Route). The arm he carries (and hence, his Noble Phantasm) isn't even from his own myth: ''Airgetlám'' comes from the eponymous silver arm of the mythical Irish god-king Nuadha. The reason the in-game summoned Bedivere still looks like this is actually related to the next trope.
* CessationOfExistence: [[spoiler:Merlin warns him at the beginning of the Camelot chapter that his soul, spirit and body have been so eroded by his travels that they'll completely disappear after finishing his journey to return Excalibur to Altria. Then, his silver arm [[CastFromLifespan further erodes his soul]] so he can never be summoned from the Throne in ''any alternate universe possible''. It's his heroism in the Singularity that created a "legend" of Bedivere who's summonable.]]
* CouldHaveAvoidedThisPlot: [[spoiler:After his final defeat, Gawain claims that had Bedivere come to the Camelot Singularity sooner than he did, he could have convinced Goddess Rhongomyniad to abandon her plan and prevent all the death and destruction that had occurred throughout the Singularity. However, considering that Goddess Rhongomyniad had no idea who Bedivere even ''was'', this is debatable.]]
* {{Determinator}}: [[spoiler:He wandered around for centuries with Excalibur, being unable to return it, to the point where his soul literally almost burned out when he used it to keep moving his body when it collapsed from exhaustion and he still kept on going.]]
* DoubleUnlock: Can only be summoned from the story gacha after beating Camelot (and is also given to you for free after completing it.)
* DudeLooksLikeALady: Often joked about him being the one ''male'' Saber-face (game mechanic-wise, he is not). He actually had [[Creator/MamikoNoto a female voice actor]] in the original ''Fate/stay night'' anime, suggesting even Creator/StudioDEEN got fooled. It doesn't help that he wears his hair in what are essentially pigtails.
* EmpoweredBadassNormal: His abilities have been enhanced by his magical right arm, [[spoiler:which is Excalibur fashioned by Merlin into the form of the silver arm of the Irish god-king Nuadha.]]
* ExcaliburInTheRust: His first Ascension art has his silver arm caked in rust and wear. Later Ascensions restore it to its proper glory. [[spoiler:The arm itself ''is'' Excalibur in a transformed state thanks to Merlin as well, making it a literal example of the trope.]]
* ExplainExplainOhCrap: PlayedForLaughs if he receives chocolate from the protagonist on Valentines, with him asking why they just gave it to him and, upon being told it's Valentine's Day, notes he's aware of the holiday's origins and customs. He gets to the part where he states it's "a day for lovers" before he goes silent in realization and has a bit of a panic attack.
* ExtremeOmnivore: Bedivere has questionable standards of what constitutes an acceptable meal and is quite happy, if not oddly eager, to eat anything from dragon eyeballs to the tentacles of {{Eldritch Abomination}}s. Both Mash and the protagonist find this tendency a bit unsettling.
* {{Foil}}: To [[spoiler:Agravain. Both of them are extremely loyal to Altria and what she stands for as the most suitable king of Britain, but for completely opposite reasons. Bedivere admires her ability to empathize with the common folk and kindness in her private moments. Agravain admired Altria's competence in bringing about peace and order in Camelot and having the foresight to see the big picture and act accordingly. While Bedivere couldn't bring himself to fulfill Altria's final order in the Camelot Singularity since it would mean her death, Agravain's UndyingLoyalty is so extreme that he gladly continues to follow her even after she becomes the Lion King.]]
* FrontlineGeneral: He was known for leading knights into battle despite his seniority as a Knight of the Round and one of the king's closest confidants. In fact, all of his personal skills, Military Tactics, Calm and Collected, and Oath of the Protector affect his ability to command groups.
* GirlishPigtails: Bedivere wears two low ponytails in a similar style to [[Manga/{{Naruto}} Tsunade's]], but it is not obvious in most of his artworks. They are more visible on his sprites and in animated form. They make him look very feminine, which might the reason why he was initially voiced by a woman back in 2006.
* HandicappedBadass: Despite having only one arm, he was still considered a perfectly capable knight and general.
* HumbleHero: He will always be the first to note compared to the other Knights of the Round he's just a normal knight with no truly special powers, and during his Valentine's event he'll even express surprise the protagonist thinks he's worth giving chocolate to.
* ILetGwenStacyDie: In his Interlude we learn that once when a princess called Helena was kidnapped by giants, he went to rescue her with the help of Altria and Kay. Unfortunately, they arrived too late and found that the giants had already killed her. Bedivere was so distraught that he [[HeroicBSOD did nothing]] while Altria and Kay killed the giants. This failure still weighs on him even to this day.
* KnightInShiningArmor: Even amongst the members of the Knights of the Round Table, he's a shoo-in for this trope, being unfailingly kind and loyal with radiant silver armor.
* LightningBruiser: One of his [=NPs=] boosts his abilities from a fit but ordinary human to being on par with the other Knights of the Round. He has an A in Strength, B in Endurance, and an A+ in Agility, allowing him to clash even with the likes of Lancelot and Gawain.
* MyNameIsQuestionMarks: The first two times he appears as a support Servant, all information is replaced by question marks, his picture doesn't appear as an icon, and he's called "Unknown Servant".
* MythologyGag: When he first meets the protagonists, he uses the name Lucius Tiberius because he doesn't trust your party. Lucius Tiberius is a Roman general from Arthurian legend and one of the people that Arthur had fought, which was depicted in ''Fate/Prototype: Fragments of Sky Silver''.
* NervesOfSteel: So much so that he has a skill, "Calm and Collected", that allows him to suppress his emotions in battle in order to issue effective orders no matter how many soldiers he's pitted against.
* NiceGuy: He's a really cheery guy with nary a mean bone in his body. In My Room, he admits he can't think of anything he actually hates, seeing even the monsters he fought to protect Britain as just enemies to be defeated, not hated.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: [[spoiler:In the world of the Sixth Singularity, Bedivere did not throw Excalibur into the lake. This had repercussions that eventually led to the majority of the sixth singularity happening in the first place.]]
* NotSoAboveItAll: Bedivere's UndyingLoyalty is his main characterization, and most of his My Room conversations reflect that talking about his past and present as a knight under Altria. Still, when asked about his likes, he says his favorite food is steamed vegetables... before backtracking and saying that he has dedicated his entire being to his king.
* OvershadowedByAwesome: While he had three times the exploits of any normal knight, his adventures still paled in comparison to that of Gawain or Lancelot. As such, he didn't qualify as a true Heroic Spirit until the Camelot singularity. Afterwards he functions as an odd sort of exception.
* PowerGlows: Airgetlám glows a silvery-white upon reaching Third Ascension and flares gold when using its full power as a Noble Phantasm. [[spoiler:The gold color is a hint that it's actually Excalibur in disguise.]]
* RazorSharpHand: His Switch On Airgetlám: Seize the Sword, Silver Arm, where he uses his magical silver arm to slash his enemies apart.
* SimpleYetAwesome: He's basically the budget version of Miyamoto Musashi, as both have a Buster-based, Anti-Unit, single-target Noble Phantasm. While Musashi's quirks puts more emphasis on punishing targets that heavily rely on buffs and invulnerability (as well as a skill that gives an Extra Attack on her basic cards, synergizing well with any Buster crit teams with [[GameBreaker Merlin]]), Bedivere puts more emphasis with party-wide buffs which synergizes well with any Noble Phantasm chains. His NP is also relatively easy to max out due to him being in a lower rarity, especially in certain gachas when he is rate-up. Under the right setup, he even outdamages most 4* and even some 5* Sabers with his Noble Phantasm.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: There's actually two official spelling of his Noble Phantasm. There's Airgetlám which is used for the NA released. However the Camelot film uses Agateram which was also used in a promotion pre-release in NA.
* TheTeamNormal: He was the most normal of the Knights since he didn't have any special powers or weapons. It was merely his swordsmanship that gave him prestige and allowed him to become a Round Table Knight.
* UndyingLoyalty: He's endlessly loyal to Altria, who gave him a seat at the Round Table for his kindness and devotion rather than the sheer martial prowess of his peers (though he was still three times as great as any normal knight without having any of the special perks or benefits the others had). [[spoiler:He kept going during his 1,500-year quest purely out of a combination of his guilt and loyalty to her]]. Mordred even calls him an "honor student." However, he averts MyMasterRightOrWrong, turning against the Round Table to defend Camelot's citizens from the Lion King.
* WalkingSpoiler: His profile contains massive spoilers for Camelot, which is presumably why he's only rollable after beating the chapter, is obtainable only from the story gacha, and has only shown up in a few gacha rate ups since its release.

->''"Welcome to the Enma Pavilion. I am delighted to meet you, honorable guest... is not how it goes, right. Servant; Saber. The Tongue-Cut Sparrow, Benienma. I have come here to offer my services. Please take care of me from now on."''

The titular character from the Japanese folktale ''The Tongue-Cut Sparrow''. She makes her debut as the main charater of the fourth New Year campaign event.
----
* AngelUnaware: The story she's from is this. Neither the old man nor his wife knew that the sparrow was actually one of the judges of hell.
* AnimalMotifs: Sparrows, in reference to the folktale she's from. She has a sparrow head on her hat, clothes covered in feathers, and her sword even chirps when unsheathed.
* ChefOfIron: While most of Chaldea's cooks have it as a hobby, she's an innkeeper first and a warrior second. And she can get ''[[DrillSergeantNasty nasty]]'' [[SeriousBusiness when it comes to cooking]], to the point that the "''Series/HellsKitchen'' Benienma Edition" is an actual in-universe thing.
* CompositeCharacter: Of both the sparrow found by the old man in ''The Tongue-Cut Sparrow'' as well as the sparrow's wife who treated the old man the same way a good innkeeper would.
* TheDreaded: Tomoe, Kiyohime, and Caster Tamamo are ''terrified'' of her, having gone through a Home Economics course under her in the Throne of Heroes. This is a ContinuityNod to Tamamo's first interlude, where she spoke about how the three of them had enrolled in said course.
* EarlyBirdCameo: No pun intended. She has been [[https://www.reddit.com/r/grandorder/comments/ab9b5t/benienma_had_been_mentioned_from_fgo_material_ccc/ mentioned]] in FGO material books, and Tamamo's interludes in ''CCC'' and ''Extella''. An even older reference to her exists in the ''[[https://twitter.com/gisinanki501501/status/1036227017505570817 original game]].''
* GameplayAndStoryIntegration: She's actually mute because she has no tongue, but because she's such a good ventriloquist (and has the Ventriloquism EX Skill), it sounds like she can talk regularly. In game, this means her skills cannot be sealed. In other words, she cannot be [[{{Pun}} silenced]].
* HandicappedBadass: She is an expert chef despite having no tongue to taste food.
* HappinessInSlavery: The 'beloved master' variant. In her Bond Four line, she finds the idea of getting a day off the highest luxury, having been in service since she gained awareness, but serving the main character makes her happier.
* {{Hell}}: She is from [[{{UsefulNotes/Buddhism}} Buddhist]] Hell, specifically, which is designed to purify sinners before {{reincarnation}}. The process is long and not pleasant, but it is not eternity. Much like her cooking classes.
* IaijutsuPractitioner: Most of her fighting style. Lots of chirping ensues.
* ImprovisedWeapon: She clearly wasn't expecting to be called here as a warrior, and her first ascension has her wearing her apron and tearing people apart with a rice spoon. Later ascensions give her honest gear from back when she was a guard for the Enma.
* TheJudge: Not only her critiquing cooking, but as her name implies, she is an [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yama_(Buddhism) enma]], [[CelestialBureaucracy one of the judges in hell]]. Please note that the lack of a capital letter is important as ''an'' enma is not nearly as important as ''the'' Enma (aka King Yama), who is the boss of all of them.
* TheKnightsWhoSaySquee: Despite being a feared chef in the underworld, she does have some shades of this. If the player has Tawara Touta in their servant roster, one of her My Room dialogue lines shows that she's excited to see Tawara and would love to use one of his arrows in her exhibition.
* NoSell: Her Ventriloquism EX skill grants her immunity to Skill Seal, making her the third Servant so far to have a debuff immunity as a passive skill (the first two being King Hassan and Summer BB).
* {{Oni}}: A Hell Oni as opposed to Earth Oni like Shuten or Ibaraki. However, she doesn't have the typical physical traits of oni, going with a [[AnimalMotifs sparrow motif]] instead.
* PalsWithJesus: Originally, she was a human girl who died absolved of sin thanks to her final deed in life, and as a result she became an assistant of [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datsue-ba the Datsue-ba]], then the ward of her husband the Enma, who oversees the Underworld's administration. From there over the eons, she achieved RankUp until she became a lesser enma herself. At Bond Five, she promises to advocate for the main character to the point of causing chaos in the courtroom when their soul eventually goes to the afterlife.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: If you have Kiyohime, Tomoe, Osakabehime, or Caster Tamamo, she'll ruthlessly tear into each of them about not only their cooking styles, but how they seem to view relationships. For example, she criticizes Tamamo for effectively trying to groom her ideal husband, and flat out says Osakabehime should be killed so she can be reincarnated as a better cook.
* SituationalSword: Her Noble Phantasm's overcharge effect has her do extra damage to Servants with Chaotic and/or Evil alignments. Against Servants like Kiyohime or Ereshkigal she can get an immense 80%+ Power bonus on top of the normal class modifier.
* SizeShifter: Is able to shrink herself.
* SquareRaceRoundClass: She has five passive skills, including Presence Concealment and Independent Action, which are usually present on Assassins and Archers. As noted above, she isn't really a fighter.
* UnderestimatingBadassery: Looks down on Sasaki Kojirou and his Tsubame Gaeshi, calling him unremarkable. Then she finds out that [[RealityWarper Tsubame Gaeshi]] [[BeyondTheImpossible warps dimensions to strike at 3 unavoidable weak points simultaneously]]. As an AnthropomorphicPersonification of a sparrow, she is shocked that he developed this power to cut down swallows, calling him a deviant. To her, sparrows and swallows might as well be the same.
* VerbalTic: Prone to chirping. She also says "dechi" in place of "desu".
* YearInsideHourOutside: Her "Two-Hour Cooking Class" transports everyone in the classroom to her personal demiplane in Hell where they study for 6 months.
