* HopelessBossFight: If you decide to fight him in CCC. Note that it technically ''is'' winnable, but only if you're either cheating or have some very broken New Game+ outfits equipped.

* HiddenDepths: This was one of Nasu's intentions for Gil's depiction in this game. According to WordOfGod, his personality is affected by the era in which he's summoned to. This is why he was such an insufferable douche during Fate/Zero. However, the era he's summoned to in this game affects him more positively, which is why he's more of a JerkWithAHeartOfGold here.

* JerkassHasAPoint: A lot of the things he says, while cruel, are pretty much spot on. They way he calls out Gawain for putting his king on a pedestal is spot on, but because Gilgamesh is a jerk nobody wants to listen to him. If you voice support for his position, though, all Hakuno does is defend Gilgamesh, not his statements.

* LoveHurts: He likes the kind of love that is and has a potential of being cynical, the love that also has an ugly side beside the good. That's why he somehow respects {{Yandere}}, {{Narcissist}}, and MyMasterRightOrWrong kind of people; they love so openly to the point of unsightliness, and that kind of love will surely become either their downfall or salvation. * SlapOnTheWristNuke: A subdued example. Brahmastra Kundala ''hurts'', but much like Gawain's Excalibur Galatine it's entirely possible to survive it. In the latter case, it's an Anti-Army Noble Phantasm and a sublime existence on par with Arthur's Excalibur. In the former, it's a ''God-Level Anti-Country Noble-Phantasm'' declared to be the Noble Phantasm equivalent to a ''nuke'', not to mention the fact that its Apocrypha counterpart would have killed Ruler despite her damage immunity. Somewhat justified by his subpar Master, but still...

* HeroicSacrifice: In CCC True End, holding back Moon Cell's [[AdvancingWallOfDoom Advancing Firewall of Doom]] as your Servant tries to clear the path out of the Labyrinth, complete with an AnguishedDeclarationOfLove.
