* DidntThinkThisThrough: Rainbow eagerly agrees to TheBet that Soarin proposes to her, where the two of them can see who between them can score the most goals in the match between the Wondercolts and Wonderbolts, and the loser buys the winner whatever they want for dinner at the restaurant of the winner's choice. * CrazyPrepared: After he snaps a photo of Sci-Twi dressed as Masked Matterhorn, he shows it to his friends but refuses to send it to any of them, to make sure it doesn't spread around the school and risk Sci-Twi breaking up
with Iron, Fluttershy plays him. Later, Sci-Twi steals his phone to delate the photo herself, but unknown to her Flash had already backed it up to his computer.
* DeadpanSnarker: He shows to be one just like her pony counterpart. Unlike Sci-Twi, who just takes the abuse she receives from the Shadowbolts, Flash engages in
a leading lot of SnarkToSnarkCombat with the Shadowbolts.
* DeathGlare: He shoots several of these at Timber Spruce when he sees him and Sci-Twi together, or when he interrupts the two of them.
* DesperatelyLookingForAPurposeInLife: Though he denies it, he ultimately has trouble finding a reason in life beyond "helping protect Sci-Twi".
* EarlyBirdCameo: He makes a brief cameo appearance in the final scene of ''Rainbow Rocks'' along with Six-Twi and the human versions of Lightning Blitz and Ruby Scarlet.
* FirstPersonSmartass: His narration throughout "Substitute" has him snarking in private, especially towards Cold Steel.
* GreenEyedMonster: He quickly becomes jealous when he sees Timber flirting with Sci-Twi at Camp Everfree, though he denies having any feelings for her himself.
* HowDoIShootWeb: Similar to the Rainbooms, he struggles to control his new magic at Camp Everfree for awhile, and distances himself from everyone until he can figure it out. Once he learns to embrace his powers though, he quickly learns how to properly control them and use them properly.

* CoolOldGuy: Like his pony counterpart, he's one of the oldest characters in the series and is always calm and collected.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: When he finds evidence that Flash and Twilight didn't ruin the upcoming Fall Formal dance, he presents it to Vice Principal Luna, saving them from getting blacklisted.
