* VicePresidentWho: ZigzaggingTrope. During the Schlatt administration, Quackity had little to no actual political power and his main role in the cabinet was to "have a fat ass". This is due to Schlatt's desire to consolidate power onto himself and himself alone, which he lampshades before his resignation, and Wilbur even calls his position "pointless" in a conversation with him before the Festival. The constant disrespect played a big part in him defecting from Manberg, and even now he hates being told what he can and cannot do. Under the Tubbo administration, Quackity regains his role as VP after Tommy's exile, and wields a lot more political power than he did in the previous cabinet, being able to assemble and unofficially lead the Butcher Army.

** Since Mexican Dream once mentioned that he hates the fact that Sapnap was dating his cousin, it implies that he and Quackity might be cousins.Alternately, M.D. could be referring to Karl, but given character-Quackity and Mexican Dream are played by the same actor who's Mexican in real life, one would wonder.

* CloudCuckooLander: He has a tendency to act extremely strangely, such as speaking in silly accents, trying to sell 'drugs' to people, adopting one of his many weird alternate personalities, and stripping down to his underwear any chance he gets. His idea of couple's therapy is essentially a divorce court where he decides whether the couple should stay together or break up.

* ColdBloodedTorture: He inflicts this on Dream over the course of about two months in Pandora's Vault using various implements like Sam's Warden's weapons, a pair of shears, and potatoes; while his motive begins with obtaining the revive-book, it shifts towards some combination of revenge, catharsis, and lashing out by the tail end. It's argued that the only reason he hasn't crossed the line by this point is because Dream is an authoritarian, child-abusing serial killer, and an all-round terrible person who makes Quackity still look good in comparison.

* CruelAndUnusualDeath: Getting a pickaxe in the head to the point of post-respawning disability isn't exactly a good way to go out. In fact, it motivated him to hold a months-long grudge on Techno to the point of attempting to kill him in the same way, as if it were a twisted form of poetic justice.

* DesperatelyCravesAffection: PlayedForDrama, in a sense. Quackity's IJustWantToBeLoved desire to belong has contributed to many of his character arcs, from his wish to become a part of L'Manburg before the Election Arc, to everything he did as part of the country, to arguably his various romantic exploits. It doesn't become prominent until the Las Nevadas arc... which isn't all that surprising, since the arc got kick-started by him being unintentionally abandoned by his loved ones. It eventually culminates with Quackity suppressing his own empathy to try to gain the respect and security he's wanted all this time.
** This might also be implicated through, among other examples, an ambiguously-canon bit during the Election VOD, here Quackity picks up a piece of pink wool that says "You matter ♡ — Eret", and is stunned for a few moments, then immediately declares that he thinks he's in love. This results in a hasty 'marriage subplot' that ends rather poorly. In the same VOD, he also talks about how he fell in love with a girl after she looked at him a couple of days before the election...

* ForgetsToEat: Especially during Season 1, many of Quackity's non-canon deaths can be partially attributed to him taking damage, then forgetting to eat to heal up, then taking more damage to the point of dying (non-canonically, obviously). This isn't acknowledged in canon much, and thus there is no canonical given reason for this.

* MirrorCharacter: With Wilbur, both as this and as a foil. Both of them started out as Wide-Eyed Idealists who are more skilled with words than with weapons and have broadly good intentions for the server, but eventually went through a TraumaCongaLine which caused them to take a level in cynicism and go into a mental spiral to become a WellIntentionedExtremist. It is heavily implied that Wilbur saw himself in Quackity, then a NaiveNewcomer, during the elections, and therefore advised him that becoming a WellIntentionedExtremist was the only way to gain power to truly help the people around them, because he didn't want history to repeat itself; and Quackity's message to Wilbur after the latter's passing indicates that he is consciously deciding to follow in Wilbur's footsteps. It is also all but outright stated by Quackity out-of-universe that his character arc was meant to Character Wilbur's, and throughout their respective spirals, both of them have low opinions of themselves formed from their respective Trauma Conga Lines (whether it's implied or outright stated) and are highly prone to PsychologicalProjection onto others. In a lore stream in late May 2021, Wilbur goes as far as to claim that he and Quackity were like yin and yang, which goes to show that Wilbur as a character believes that they are foils to each other. However, Quackity does actively carry out 'violence over diplomacy' thing unlike Wilbur, who just talked the talk but never quite walked the walk (the explosion of Manburg/L'Manburg was not designed to kill anyone but himself, for one); and though both characters' spirals stemmed from trauma, Wilbur's struggle is more closely related to a fear of failure and what contemporaries call "gifted kid burnout", while Quackity's likely stems from relationship trauma, a fear of abandonment and being forgotten, and a desire for a sense of belonging.

* MrFanservice: In-universe. Other than being Vice President of Manburg, this was technically his role in Schlatt's cabinet, as he was told that he "just ha[d] to sit there and have a fat ass" and essentially be Schlatt's trophy fiancé. This eventually becomes PlayedForDrama when this causes friction between him and SchlattTo be more specific, Schlatt started to insult his looks, i.e. implicating that he's worthless and ultimately culminates into a source of insecurity.

* RevengeBeforeReason: One of Quackity's core traits is his hatred of injustice -- Quackity ran against Wilbur in the L'Manburg Elections because he feared Wilbur would've been a corrupt ruler, and the El Rapids plotline was kickstarted by Quackity wanting to stand up to Dream for suddenly denouncing George's kingship. However, some of his actions -- and especially those taken during his spiral -- are driven more by revenge then justice, like his torture of Dream and failed attempt to kill Technoblade in the prison. In general, the violent methods he uses to try to get even often just cause more problems, yet every loss just makes him all the more desperate to get revenge.

In his earliest appearances, he also claimed he was in juvenile prison for 10, 41, or 43 years.
** In hard-canon, though, the only confirmation towards Quackity's canonical age is that he's younger than Wilbur, as Wilbur referred to him as "that fucking kid" in his 15 March 2022 stream.

* AdaptationDyeJob: A mild example. Even though his skin doesn't have any hats, Quackity is almost universally portrayed with his iconic beanie, similar to his real-life appearance.
** Actually Trope. In Quackity's first perspective stream on the SMP, he confirms his Minecraft skin either has a beanie or a "really fucking shitty mullet", and is inclined to interpret it as the former.

Mildly and weirdly played with. In Quackity's first perspective stream on the SMP, he confirms his Minecraft skin either has a beanie or a "really fucking shitty mullet", and is inclined to interpret it as the former. However, while the fandom doesn't think he wears a hat in his Minecraft skin, he is still almost universally portrayed with his iconic beanie, similar to his real-life appearance.

** Early in Season 4, it is revealed that many things leading up to Dream's imprisonment, including the Disc War Finale and even the subsequent escape, had been staged by Dream and Punz. Quackity had accomplished his goal of winning the L'Manburg Election, but he was only able to do so by teaming up with Schlatt. That one action ended up up costing him any influence he would've had as Who and started this chain of misfortunate events. During his entire tenure, Quackity was powerless and abused by his fiancé, was forced to watch Tubbo be executed right in front of him, saw a build that meant so much to him torn down without remorse and was mocked for caring about it, fought in a war and failed to stop his friend Wilbur from blowing up L'Manburg, and shortly afterward, Wilbur would lose his final life. In the following two seasons, he was unable to prevent Dream from pressuring Tubbo into exiling his friend Tommy, failed to kill Technoblade and instead got killed by him, was powerless to defend New L'Manberg from Dream, Technoblade, and Philza during the Doomsday War, watched his good friend [=BadBoyHalo=] get corrupted by a supernatural force, would lose another friend when Tommy was killed by Dream in prison, and was seemingly abandoned by his best friend and fiancés -- the only three people he felt like he could trust and one of the few positive aspects of his life.

* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: Throughout the Election VOD and all of the early Manburg era in general, Quackity's allegiance of being supportive towards and against Manburg and Schlatt's reign seems to flip-flop depending on the moment. For example, one time Niki confronted him about how Schlatt changed the country and would take everything away from them, Quackity's apparent allegiance changes at least 3 times in 5 minutes alone--initially defending how it was legal under the Constitution for Schlatt to change the country's name to Manburg, then lamenting that he was trying to be the moral but ultimately powerless voice of reason, and then switching to alerting Schlatt of their location in Ze Haus where they had the conversation and ordering to have Niki arrested after she accidentally killed him (non-canonically), and then freeing her from imprisonment in secret after Schlatt said his reason for doing so was because he (Schlatt) found it funny.

** To Dream. Both men are very manipulative and good at controlling arguments, with Quackity often being able to keep up Dream in verbal confrontations. Though when it comes to actual fights Dream is leagues better. Both aren't afraid of doing horrible things to get what they want, such as Dream threatening to kill Tubbo in order to control Tommy and eventually killing Tommy to prove he can revive the dead, and Quackity torturing Dream for the knowledge on how to resurrect people. At the same time, like Dream, Quackity isn't afraid to manipulate those close to him, he's easily able to put aside personal feelings when it comes to business as shown when he manipulated Awesamdude by striking at his guilt over Tommy's death, and later with him targeting Fundy's insecurities to convince him to join Las Nevadas. However, Dream believes that force is the ultimate method to controlling the server, while Quackity relies much more on forcing people into relying on him; Dream was once attached to his friends, but ultimately cuts off the attachments in order to keep himself from being controlled, while Quackity openly cares for his friends and gets easily attached to his builds, and is deeply sentimental even when hiding it. Morever, in terms of manipulation itself, Dream more often than not does it ForTheEvulz and outright lies many times, while Quackity genuinely believes in the beliefs he speaks of, especially in the Las Nevadas arc, and is heavily implied to be projecting his own trauma and insecurities through it. Interestingly, they also both are associated with smiley-face emoticons, albeit slightly different ones (":]" for Quackity, ":)" for Dream).

** To Tommy. While both of them are determined to achieve their goals, share a hatred towards Dream, and have broadly good intentions for the server, Quackity is power-hungry in that he wants the knowledge of resurrection for himself and vengeful towards Dream for his misdeeds. Meanwhile, Tommy believes having the knowledge to resurrect others gives people too much power and thus wants to have the knowledge destroyed, as well as wanting to move on and get closure with Dream so he can properly heal. It also helps that both of them were frequently placed in powerless positions on the server, but developed contrasting opinions on power because of their history. Furthermore while Tommy had a HeelRealization about the kind of person he was becoming in his pursuit of the discs and chose to be better Quackity is aware that the person he has become is not a good one yet continues to follow the same path Wilbur did in his desperate attempt to achieve his goals. However, Charlie's influence would later lead to Quackity re-evaulating himself and his actions, later advising Tommy to not fall down the dark path he himself had undergone.
