!!Duke Stuart
The young king's guardian and uncle, he is at first glance simply an arrogant man who seeks glory for himself and the king, and believes that the ideal king would rule with a mix of love and fear, mostly fear. However, underneath it all, he desires what's best for the kingdom, despite not always showing it.

Has a rivalry with a mix of love and fear, mostly fear. However, underneath it all, he desires what's best for the kingdom, despite not always showing it.Lotus Marsh's sorceress, Marisala.

Added DiffLines:

* BerserkButton: Don't call her old, or even hint at it. She won't take it well.
* CharacterDevelopment: Initially, she's quite mean to the player, and outright mocks them at some point after Gerrant's death. , when Duke Stuart attempts to charge you for failing the kingdom Kaylinn is the first to immediately step in and defend you, a far cry from the lady she was initially.
* HiddenDepths: She was taken in by Kasarana as a child, who noted that she was quite different from the other sorceresses. This turns out to be one of the reasons behind her icy personality, and is the reason she sympathizes with Sidel after Kasarana's death.
* Jerkass: She IS a sorceress.
** JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She later comes to respect the player later on in the story.
* Tsundere: Again, she IS a sorceress.

* BrattyHalfPint: The younger Gerrant is quite annoying.

* AmbiguouslyEvil

to:

* AmbiguouslyEvilAmbiguouslyEvil: On one hand, he did kidnap Rose. On the other hand, he needed her power to get revenge against the Dragon Cultists, who themselves are absolutely horrible. Not so ambiguous in the current story, where he's pulled a HeelFaceTurn.

* CriticalHitClass: The Sniper, oh so much, to the point where her skills boost critical hit damage.

* LightIsGood: The Silver Hunter uses light-based arrow skills, and is just as heroic as the other characters.

* DifficultButAwesome: The Lencea is the second class to be labeled under the Expert difficulty, and for good reason. On promotion, she gains a skill which greatly boosts her final damage and overall speed, at the cost of making her lethargic if used for too long. You really do not want to become lethargic, as not only are the boosts negated, you slow down and start losing a percentage of your health very quickly. Learning how to manage this mechanic is crucial to success with Lencea.

* DifficultButAwesome: Easily one of the most mechanically demanding classes to play, mastering Machina requires a knowledge of where she will land with her skills, and learning how to link her skills together with combos. Once mastered, she is a beast to play against, dishing out incredible damage and darting from target to target very quickly.

He can become either a Priest (and later a Saint or Inquisitor) or a Paladin (and later a Crusader or Guardian).

He can become either a Priest (and later a Saint or Inquisitor) or a Paladin (and later a Crusader or Guardian). He is stated to have a special class tree known as the Arch Heretic.

* DifficultButAwesome: He is the first class to be labeled under the Expert difficulty. Though not quite to the extent of the Lencea and Machina, he has shades of this early on. Early game, his damage is pretty low and his only saving grace is his high defenses, not to mention his lack of mobility compared to the other classes. But once he promotes to either Paladin or Priest, that's when he really starts to shine.

* DifficultButAwesome: The Valkyrie shows shades of this. Her damage output comes from having to use a skill which turns her SwordBeam into homing attacks, dealing a lot more damage than usual. The problem? Said skill only hits one target, and if you miss or hit the wrong target, it results in a loss in damage. If you can aim it right, the Valkyrie easily beats the Dragoon in sheer damage.

** The
Valkyrie shows shades of this.(and the magic skill tree in general) becomes even more difficult mechanic-wise and gameplay-wise. The magic skill tree's damage is awful at lower levels, and requires more investment than the physical skill tree.
