** Cell smugly lets Kenshiro do his Hokuto Shinken on him, thinking he was just tickling him. Cell proceeds to mock his technique only for his upper body to explode. Cell regenerates but it's the first time that something has actually managed to hurt and legitimately piss him off. When Kenshiro asks if he can eat Cell's severed arm, an infuriated Cell lets him have it as a last meal, because after that, Kenshiro's a dead man. Kenshiro reminds Cell that he's the dead man... and Cell explodes again.

** Has one when Kenshiro manages to actually hurt him ''a lot''. He goes from a SmugSnake to sheathing with rage.

When #16 flat-out says they're not friends, Cell cries out "I'm trying!" in frustration, implying that his chummy attitude towards the android is completely genuine.
** Also as Semi-Perfect Cell, he is interrupted by the people on the islands he's hovering over while trying to get Android 18 to come out and is quite civil towards them trying to give him advice (They think Cell and 18 are a couple and having relationship problems as he tries to explain what's going on) before losing his patience and blowing them all up except the one 18's on.

** In the Cell Vs. saga, Cell's pretty chipper and typically allows his opponents to leave the ring when they realize they're outclassed. The exceptions are Kenshiro and Light Yagami, on account that they can actually hurt him, and Ken and Ryu, because they actually try to fight him.

** After assimilating #17, he doesn't immediately go after #18 because he wants to admire his new lips. He then starts making motorboat noises for fun. He was hell-bent on reaching perfection in the previous episode.

* BerserkButton: Implying he isn't a threat sets him off, if Deadpool vs. Cell was anything to go off of.

** Even ''[[{{Muggle}} Bulma]]'' can feel his power level at his Perfect form. After that, in one of the Cell Vs. shorts, he {{No Sell}}s the [[DangerousForbiddenTechnique Raging]] [[DraggedOffToHell Demon]].

** In the Cell vs. saga, Cell's on the receiving end when [[Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar Kenshiro]] does this both figuratively and literally.

** He tried to do this to Android 18 in Episode 48 using Android 17's voice [[spoiler:but fails horribly because he doesn't know either of them well enough to properly trick 18]].

** The entire Cell Vs. saga is this as everyone who steps up to fight Cell is either beaten or forced to retreat, realizing how out of their league they are! The ones who avert this are [[Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar Kenshiro]], who puts Cell through his ''Hokuto Hyakuretsu Ken'' attack and causes him to explode ''twice'', ComicBook/{{Deadpool}}, who regenerates from all of Cell's attacks, cuts off Cell's arms, and then gets called away by the X-Men, and [[Webcomic/OnePunchMan Saitama]], who's ready to fight Cell and anyone else who shows up on the day of the Cell Games [[spoiler:but has to cancel his entry because there's a sale at his supermarket the day of the Games and he can't afford to miss it, telling Cell he'll fight him the next day]].

* FriendlyEnemy: While his moments of civility are usually insincere, he seems to genuinely like Android #16, losing his temper after one rejection too many. He and [[Webcomic/OnePunchMan Saitama]] actually bond a bit during their short, first over [[spoiler:watching Genos get [[RunningGag stomped]]]] and saying the exact same thing, and then with Saitama actually following the rules set in the tournament to wait [[spoiler:plus feeling disappointed when Saitama had to leave in order to get to the Sunday sale at his supermarket]].

This also extends to their reactions to Goku. Freeza shows nothing but disdain and frustration with Goku's idiocy. Cell enjoys Goku's presence and openly states he loves him for his simplicity. Cell appears to even lust for Goku's presence and has a sexual desire to fight the Saiyan.

The ones who avert this are [[Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar Kenshiro]], who puts Cell through his ''Hokuto Hyakuretsu Ken'' attack and causes him to explode ''twice'', SelfDemonstrating/{{Deadpool}}, who regenerates from all of Cell's attacks, cuts off Cell's arms, and then gets called away by the X-Men, and [[Webcomic/OnePunchMan Saitama]], who's ready to fight Cell and anyone else who shows up on the day of the Cell Games [[spoiler:but has to cancel his entry because there's a sale at his supermarket the day of the Games and he can't afford to miss it, telling Cell he'll fight him the next day]].

*** The Kenshiro fight sours Cell so much that it seems to alter his attitude for the rest of the ''Cell Vs.'' series. When going up against [[Anime/YuYuHakusho Yusuke & Kuwabara]], [[Anime/YuGiOh Yami Yugi]], [[VideoGame/StreetFighter Ken & Ryu]], and [[VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog Sonic & Knuckles]], Cell seems more amused by the prospect of people challenging him early, and he almost never loses his cool due to the severe power gap between him and everyone else (the closest exception up until then being when he was thrown off by Ryu being consumed by the Dark Hadou). After being made a fool of by [[Anime/FistOfTheNorthStar Kenshiro]], Cell grows far more impatient with all of the future challengers and is a little less open to playing around with them. He's very quick to threaten [[Anime/DeathNote Light Yagami]] with death when he enters the ring, quickly gets annoyed with [[Anime/{{Pokemon}} Ash Ketchum]] thinking that he's a Pokemon, and expresses some weariness with [[SelfDemonstrating/{{Deadpool}} Deapool's]] [[BreakingTheFourthWall fourth-wall breaking schtick.]] It doesn't help that, by this point, Cell starts [[LampshadeHanging lampshading]] that all of these fighers seem to be ignoring that he set an ''actual date'' for them to challenge him on. It's to the point where he's actually relieved that [[Anime/OnePunchMan Saitama]] announced that he just planned on waiting for the tournament to start, as it made him the first person to follow the rules Cell set.

* ArchEnemy: While he playfully mocks everybody else, he considers Goku and Tien to be this in opposite ends of this trope.
** He views his bout with Goku [[FoeRomanceSubtext like it's a sexual attraction]], constatnly flirting with Goku. This is not unlike how Joker views his relationship with Batman, considering him a WorthyOpponent that completes his existence and actually appreciates his [[IdiotHero simplicity]]. He is legitimately pissed off by Goku giving up their fight and having his son fight him.
** By contrast, he utterly ''despises'' Tien for blasting him with Kikoho over and over. See SitcomArchnemesis below.

** In general, in his Perfect form, Cell is very nice and friendly to everyone he meets... right up until the moment he learns that they can actually threaten him. At that point, any hint of friendliness ''vanishes'', replaced by horrified fear (in the case of Vegeta's Final Flash or Goku's Kamehamehah), pure rage (Kenshiro blowing him up), or cold but instant annihilation (in the case of Light Yagami).

* EvenEvilHasStandards: He, [[HorrorHunger of all people]], calls Goku eating sick Yardrats disgusting. When Goku points out the hypocrisy, Cell acknowledges it. But unlike Goku, he's a monster, [[ItsWhatIDo of course]] ''[[ItsWhatIDo he]]'' [[ItsWhatIDo eats people]].
