* DemotedToExtra: Surprisingly inconsequential in ''GT'', despite Goku's intention to [[PassingTheTorch have him take his place as Earth's guardian.]] [[note]]Though the ending of the manga and Z states that PassingTheTorch to the next protector of Earth was mostly lip service on Goku's part as he admits to Uub that the real reason he wants to train him is because he wants to fight him someday (Since Uub is the result of Goku's wish for Kid Buu to be reborn as a good person so he could fight him again). Uub being OutOfFocus in GT is in line with the idea that Goku views him more as yet another strong guy he wants to fight than his successor as the protector of Earth.[[/note]]

* DemotedToExtra: Surprisingly inconsequential in ''GT'', despite Goku's intention to [[PassingTheTorch have him take his place as Earth's guardian.]] [[note]]The ending of the manga and Z does provide an explanation for this: Goku admits to Uub that the real reason he wants to train him is so he can fight him someday (Since Uub is the result of Goku's wish for Kid Buu to be reborn as a good person so he could fight him again). Right before this, Vegeta suggests that PassingTheTorch to the next protector of Earth is mostly lip service on Goku's part, which Goku pretty much confirms to Uub in the following scene.[[/note]]

* WorldsStrongestMan: In the original ''Z'' series and ''GT'', he's by far the most powerful Earthling around. Of course, since he's the reincarnation of an nigh-immortal demon, it wouldn't be fair to compare him to Krillin or Tien. ''Dragon Ball Super'' Chapter 46 establishes that he inherited the Grand Supreme Kai god power too. [[spoiler:The finale of the arc shows that even a ''young'' Uub possesses more god ki than ''all the Z-Fighters combined'' and is enough to turn the tables on Moro when given to Goku.]]

Edited to remove the oxymoron. Plus Buu is never stated to be immortal.

* BrilliantButLazy: Not to the point of Frieza, but Buu is shown to be capable of near-instantly copying certain moves and was second only to Beerus and Whis in power in Universe 7 initially. However, he never really trains or tries to improve. That is until the Universe Survival Arc where he actually ''does'' train. For two hours. The result is him gaining a Super Buu-like form and increasing his speed and strength immensely. ''Two hours''. Judging by the Moro Arc, this power boost seems to have stuck even after reverting back to his fat form.

And because of the very nature of his StoryBreakerPower, Buu in some story arcs will be shown falling into a deep sleep so that he doesn't get involved in fights where he could potentially steamroll the enemy to emphasis his laziness.

* PayEvilUntoEvil: Super Buu kills Smitty by liquifying his body and [[OrificeInvasion forcing himself down his throat]], [[PopGoesTheHuman expanding inside Smitty's body until he explodes]]. While this scene is used to demonstrate that Super Buu's sadism and brutality (to the point that Mr. Satan and Bee are understandably horrified), it should be noted that Smitty willingly joined Van Zant in being a SpreeKiller, came to enjoy murdering people despite his initial reluctance, and is also partially responsible for Super Buu coming into existence, so Smitty isn't exactly worthy of sympathy.
