* LaResistance: Along with Barret and Tifa (and to a lesser extend, Cloud), Jessie is a part of Avalanche. In fact, her entire Lost Chapter almost exclusively revolves around this fact, with one cutscene even having her discussing with other rebels such as Lilisette, Snow, Locke, Paine, and Ashe about whether or not Avalanche is really making a difference against a juggernaut like Shinra.

* DeathFromAbove: Vivi is part of a rather long line of characters who use meteor-themed EX abilities. His LD, Doomsday, is a giant meteor that actually attracts other meteor-sized chunks to it before falling down on enemies. His FR, Our Journey, has Vivi combining his might with Sazh, specifically following up the gunman's barrage of bullet-fire with the spell Comet, casting smaller meteor chunks at the enemy.

Sephiroth is capable of massive melee damage with Fervent Blow and Octaslash, the latter of which also debuffs enemies and raises his own speed with his unique indefinitely lasting and stackable Jenova buff. His EX Ability, Black Materia, is an 100% area of effect HP damage attack that gains its BRV via absorbing the enemy targets' BRV before unleashing the attack, and grants a unique stackable buff Reunion which increases his Max BRV with BRV regen based on the stacks (up to a total of 5); using his Black Materia also gives him a single free use skill cost on his next turn.

* SealedEvilInACan: Kadaj is a remnant of Sephiroth's will, basically a "larval" version of Sephiroth himself, as such with enough JENOVA cells Kadaj could literally turn into a new Sephiroth. This doesn't come into play in the story itself, as the real Sephiroth seems to have no desire to have a second version of himself, however this can be seen in Kadaj's EX and Burst Finisher, in which he seems to call on Sephiroth's cruelty for powerful attacks.

** His Intersecting Wills chapter has him trying to resolve non-blood familial ties and how they could be as strong as his own with his brothers, whom he shares a telepathic connection with. * CharacterDevelopment: Kadaj gets one of the strongest redemptions in all of ''DFFOO'' (up there with Kuja, although his started more strongly in ''FFIX'' and the original ''Dissidia''). In ''Advent Children'' Kadaj was laser-focused on his reunion with JENOVA in order to bring Sephiroth back into the world, and only gets a sort-of DeathEqualsRedemption at the end after Aerith cures his Geostigma. In ''DFFOO'' he openly sees Cloud as one of his 'brothers', eventually allowing Zack close to him as well, and finds himself wanting to protect and befriend Aerith. Come Act 4, Chapter 4, Part 2 not only does Kadaj come to terms with the fact he cannot have his reunion with his 'Mother', but he finally opens up to the hero party and starts to consider them as his allies, and gives Aerith a genuine apology for hurting her, things he would never have done before his growth. He states he will put his obsession behind him and start living for himself.

He states he will put his obsession behind him and start living for himself. This development just keeps going during his Intersecting Wills, where he learns about friends considering themselves 'family' with no blood relations, and how to form bonds with those he is not telepathically linked to.

* InterfaceScrew: When Kadaj uses his EX Ability Divinity, the screen is filtered in green static for a moment, similar to the visual effect used in ''Advent Children''.

to:

* InnocentlyInsensitive: During his Intersecting Wills he insults both Firon and Guy's adopted brotherhood as well as Class Zero's camaraderie, stating that what they have isn't really a "family", its just a group of people who live together. At first, Zell and Prishe are mortified at how rude Kadaj is being, before realizing he isn't being malicious on purpose, he just doesn't understand brothers who don't have a natural bond like the telepathic one he has with his own brothers. He does, however, eventually learn better and how to form bonds without being in each other's heads, something he is thankful for so he can get closer with Cloud whom he also sees as a 'brother'.
* InterfaceScrew: When Kadaj uses his EX Ability Divinity, the screen is filtered in green static for a moment, similar to the visual effect used in ''Advent Children''. The effect is used against during his Burst Finisher.

Added DiffLines:

* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: Is a bit too clingy with Cloud, eventually having to be asked to go do his own thing and try and make friends with the other party members so Cloud can have some time to think. While Kadaj feels bad about being a burden on his "brother", he does get better and learns to give Cloud his personal space to sort things out.

* MommasBoy: As is obvious from the name of his event and that a good number of his battle quotes involve his crying after his Mother, he has a serious case of this. A variation of this also functions as his main gameplay mechanic: his fixation on a single thing over everything else takes the form of a stacking debuff that gains more stacks as long as he keeps attacking the same enemy, and if he switches targets, the stacks drop back to 1, although he can thankfully gain maximum stacks instantly and thus switch targets with no penalty by using his LD or Awakening Ability.

Added DiffLines:

* SpamAttack: With maximum Fixation stacks, Kadaj's attacks are followed up with Geophagy which deals multiple HP dumps worth of damage to the target, and with his Burst buff active, Geophagy triggers after every party turn when targetting an enemy with maximum Fixation stacks as well as triggering a second time after Kadaj's own turn, and his Fixation stacks don't go down when changing targets, allowing it to trigger after every party turn without targetting restrictions.
