Added DiffLines:

* LovableCoward: He'd apparently formed a friendship with one of his captors "by constantly acting the fool and pleading for my life", which led the captor to free Abd when they were ambushed.
-->'''Abd al-Hazir''': As he screamed his last, I swore his death would not be in vain! Sadly, I was soon captured by the Khazra and was unable to avenge him. Well, we can't cry over the past forever.

* ToBeLawfulOrGood: As seen under the previous entry, this was a debate he'd had with himself, erring on the side of Good rather than Lawful.

* {{Bishounen}}: The male Wizard is quite pretty looking.

* {{Bishounen}}: The male Wizard is quite pretty looking. He used to be even prettier in his initial design, which led to complaints of him being too effeminate.

* StatusBuff: The Wizard is notorious for their heavy damage per hit and one of the biggest reasons why is they get so many passive damage buffs and they also top that up with active damage buff abilities like Sparkflint Familiar and Magic Weapon.

** Rather averted, the Wizard is actually a tank-mage. She's not really that effective at avoiding damage because she has so much cool-down to deal with. Instead she's strong in soaking damage as she has a number of skills that passively create overlapping force-fields to soak damage for her and a few skills that will reduce the damage she takes. Even on the Torment levels, she can take a beating depending on skill choice.

Added DiffLines:

* LinearWarriorsQuadraticWizards: Though there are attempts to alter this and it's not nearly as extreme as in other games, the melee classes tend not to be able to keep up with the magic-users (Demon Hunter included) as they keep improving in level. Wizard is the queen of raw damage and unusually tanky, Demon Hunter and Witch Doctor have fantastic DPS. Meanwhile the Monk can get bogged down with a lack of ranged options, Barbarians can have issues with keeping up wrath levels and the Crusader has jack of all trades, master of none issues.

* FreudianExcuse: In the ''Reaper of Souls'' expansion, it is revealed through Adria's journals that she came from a noble family in Kingsport. Her father was self-absorbed, and cared more about the names in books and paintings on the walls than his own living daughter. She also tries to justify her deeds in the previous acts by claiming she was persecuted for being a witch. This might be more effective if there was ''any'' sign of such persecution anywhere in the series.
** There is a completely missable conversation with Haedrig the blacksmith in the third game, prior to the expansion, where he tells the player that he first met his future wife when she was about to be burnt as a witch.
** Also such persecution is weirdly specific, as magic users of nearly every stripe are running around in Sanctuary. Even Necromancers just get some extra side-eye from locals. It is never explained how being a witch is different from an ordinary mage.

* [[spoiler: FaceHeelTurn: Well, she quite helpful during the first game, helping a lot of souls in search for answers (though mostly to the Sorcerer/Summoner). And it seemed that way in the third game when she's first encountered... until suddenly it's revealed that after the first game ended, she already made herself a servant of [[BigBad Diablo]] and it goes downhill from there.]]

** [[spoiler:Adria's journal in the Blood Marsh out and out confirms it. Not only did she join Maghda in leading the Dark Coven, but she murdered her own father.]]

** She also gave the excuse pre-battle that [[spoiler:she believes that the Angels are so rigid in their rules that they want to control humanity and then destroy them because they slight the Angels, thus she prefers Diablo's more 'loose' mastership. * NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: The Witch Doctor has one of the highest damage per second rates out of all the classes. While they do have a few limited, MoreDakka rapid-fire attacks, their main method of dishing out pain is to have all their pets gang up on the enemy and pound them, while the Witch Doctor offers support-fire with spells like Acid Cloud.

Indeed, the Wizard already has abilities not only falling under the [[FireIceLightning three standard elemental categories]] ([[PlayingWithFire Fire]], [[AnIcePerson Ice]], and [[ShockAndAwe Lightning]]), but also [[BlowYouAway Wind/Force]], [[PureEnergy Arcane]], and even [[TimeMaster Time]].

Furthering their claim to archmage status, there are two legendary items canonically made by the female Wizard, the Twisted Sword and the Fortress Ballista.

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: By all accounts, the Demon Hunter is a less-than-tactful hardass who does not tolerate cowardice or show any pity for those who would surrender to destruction. But they show a very protective side when it comes to the innocent and bear a certain amount of sympathy for those who have lost family, especially to demons like they have. They also are concerned with Templar initiation methods making people lose their humanity, as they're fight against the demons is as much saving humans as getting their revenge on demonkind.

* SummonMagic: This is the Witch Doctor's niche in particular, but ALL of the character classes naturally have the power to summon supernatural allies into battle. It's just that the Witch Doctor has the most variety and generally the most useful of summons.
