* AtLeastIAdmitIt: Adria's journals explain that the citizens of Tristram decried and ostracized her as a witch, but whenever there was a plague that needed human experimentation to cure or a bastard child that they wanted to disappear, they went to her ''first''.

* TookALevelInBadasss: As powerful as the Nephalem already is, with the introduction of Kanai's Cube, the Nephalem becomes even more godlike. Kanai's Cube allows the Nephalem to have up to 3 special powers from legendary items. For example, your character could have a small gang of demonic suicide bombers, a semi-regular fireball blast and the ability to absorb arcane damage, all without having equipped any of those items.

* CreepyGood[=/=]DarkIsNotEvil: Even more so than the Necromancer from ''II''; they look scarier, but the Necromancer has AntiHero traits, while the Witch-Doctor, according to their dialogues, are surprisingly nice despite their creepy appearance and powers. They are actually one of the friendliest and kindest characters in the playable classes.

** AnIcePerson: Ray of Frost, Frost Nova, Blizzard and Ice Armor are all based on cold, and the passive skill Cold Blooded increases the damage done to chilled or frozen enemies.
** BlowYouAway: Wave of Force, which pushed both enemies and projectiles away.
** ShockAndAwe: Shock Pulse and Electrocute are two of the Wizard's primary attacking skills (which cost no mana) based on lightning, and Storm Armor summons a thunderstorm that follows the Wizard, striking enemies around the Wizard with thunderbolts.
** PureEnergy: Arcane spells such as Energy Twister, which summons a tornado made out of pure energy. Energy Armor, meanwhile, summons a energy barrier around the Wizard that translated to a considerable increase in armor.
** PlayingWithFire: Meteor deals fire damage, while Shock Pulse and Explosive Blast can be upgraded with runes to deal fire damage instead of lightning and arcane damage, respectively.
** TimeMaster: Comes in the form of Slow Time, which summons a stationary bubble around the Wizard that slows enemies' moving speed, their attack speed and the speed of enemy projectile attacks.

* {{Badass}}: Sure, all player characters in Diablo were this, but these ones especially stand out as being the first to [[spoiler:get a real victory against Diablo, not to mention actually get him into a VillainousBreakdown]].

* FiveManBand: The classes are first just five, then grows to six. Surprisingly, the members fit a pattern too:
** TheLeader and TheBigGuy: The Barbarian, being not only the most brutish class, but also the 'poster class' on Diablo, also the returning one from ''II''.
** TheLancer: The Demon Hunter, being the only class that uses extremely dangerous emotion, hatred, and has the coldest personality.
** TheHeart: The Monk, attuned with their spiritual prowess and can be a supportive member.
** TheSmartGuy: The Wizard, very smart and fragile and quite full of themselves. Also characterized with a desire to seek knowledge.
** TheChick: The Witch Doctor, exemplifies DarkIsNotEvil and one of the nicest characters in the game, also utilizing pets in their magic.
** TheSixthRanger: The Crusader, the class that is included only in the expansion and also contrasts well in close range combat with The Barbarian. With their charisma, they might also fit in TheLeader role.

** TranquilFury: [[spoiler:However, they carried out their revenge with Adria without ever raising their voice, letting their beating do the talking. They didn't even bother to grace an angry remark to how Adria boasted how she offed Leah.]]
** CatharsisFactor: Considered an in-universe version. [[spoiler:They know that they face the danger of killing Adria too prematurely would compromise their quest to investigate Malthael's whereabouts (fortunately they avoided that by arriving just as Adria was conjuring an image of the Pandemonium fortress), and maybe killing her would be exactly what she wanted, as she's so obsessed in humping Diablo's behind so she'd probably take joy in getting united with her master. But the pent up rage over Leah's fate is too much to contain even in TranquilFury and they consider killing her as 'letting some steam off', as their journey commented that it was ''so'' satisfying killing her.]]

to:

* TheBigGuy: The largest of Of the six classes, and the largest human character in Barbarian specializes the game. You tower over all other [=NPC=]s.most in physical combat.

* GameBreakingBug: Using the Barbarian's ''Charge'' ability right into a cinematic (''Ghom and Cydaea's boss battles'') will loop the ''Charge'' ability on the Barbarian to remain permanent. Any of the rune power-ups for ''Charge'' can get stacked on the exploit, but the 8% life leech that originally comes with ''Charge'' is the biggest part of the exploit because it works with ALL your damaging attacks after activating the exploit. The insane life-regeneration, increased damage and even the possibility of PERMA-STUN turns the Barbarian into an unstoppable juggernaut that borderlines GodMode. You will only truly die if you just simply stopped trying to fight.

* [[GunsAkimbo Crossbows Akimbo]]: The Demon Hunter is the only character in the game who can dual-wield hand crossbows.

* FiveManBand: In its original form, at least. There's been lots of... mobility, as of ''Diablo III''.
** TheLeader: Malthael, Archangel of Wisdom, who guided the policies of the other four by remaining neutral and considerate of all possible points.
** TheLancer: Tyrael, Archangel of Justice, who was generally the proactive one, willing to lead the others and get his hands dirty when Malthael was busy, [[ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight screwing the rules if necessary]]. Notably, he's the one who has the largest presence in the series.
** TheSmartGuy: Itherael, Archangel of Fate, able to see into the future with his book and guide policy based on a full knowledge of possible consequences.
** TheBigGuy: Imperius, Archangel of Valor, who is the mightiest fighter and tactician, as well as the most hot-tempered and quick to judge... and unfortunately making him [[LeeroyJenkins more prone to ruin even the angels' plans]] [[HairTriggerTemper if his temper is touched.]]
** TheChick: Auriel, Archangel of Hope, who keeps everyone else motivated and [[TheHeart grounded in basic morality]].

* {{Badass}}: Whenever we see him in battle, he handles himself well.

* BlueOni: To Imperius' Red. The two are friends and share something of a temperament, but Imperius is HotBlooded and quick to judge, while Tyrael is more reserved, as a result of CharacterDevelopment during the ancient Sin War.

* LinearWarriorsQuadraticWizards: Though there are attempts to alter this and it's not nearly as extreme as in other games, the melee classes tend not to be able to keep up with the magic-users (Demon Hunter included) as they keep improving in level. Meanwhile the Monk can get bogged down with a lack of ranged options, Barbarians can have issues with keeping up wrath levels and the Crusader has jack of all trades, master of none issues.
