First mentioned in a [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/941757179/5132583010 Drabble]], Cato is a Human researcher who joined the Codex Equus project following Humanity's mass return to Equus in the 'Human Exodus', and is very weirded out by how strange and insane Equus and its people are compare to what he is used to.

* InSpiteOfANail: Inspired by Researcher Mirthful, whom he befriended, he became a researcher for his world's Codex Equus project after finally returning home.

* EvenEvilHasStandards: Implied and PlayedForLaughs. Apparently Pekel (like everyone else) found ''"[[{{VideoGame/SuicideSquadKillTheJusticeLeague}} Omega Sanction: Wipe Out The Paragons]]"'' so objectionable he [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/1027819039/5120959090 organised]] a 'game-burning' session where anyone with a copy could join in to have the game burnt en-masse in a hellish bonfire (with Nebes purifying the remains for good measure).

** Mirthful was horrified upon realising his '[[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/932007147/5081828053 Planar Fission Device]]' concept - weaponising Planeshift spell for devastating effect by planeshifting a target in such a way that [[TeleFrag they would be torn apart between planes of existence]] - has the potential of being a WeaponOfMassDestruction when it turns out the effect he was expecting rips apart matter on an ''atomic'' level, resulting in nuclear explosions. [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere He immediately terminated further research on the concept]]. This gets even worse when he and his Planeswalker counterpart were both [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/932007147/5081889917 informed]] by an older Planeswalker that had [[MikeNelsonDestroyerOfWorlds they done it a little bit wrong]], it could had been a ''[[{{ApocalypseHow/ClassZ}} whole lot worse]]''.

* BadassOnPaper: Mirthful's accomplishments and acquired powers over the course of Codex Quest(s) are impressive and formidable, but in reality (and Mirthful himself believes) much of it could potentially be chalked down to both [[AccidentalHero luck]] and his accumulated [[PowersDoTheFighting tools, weapons and powers]] rather than genuine skill or ability, and is fairly convinced he'll be quite ineffective without them.

Featured prominently in ''"[[https://www.deviantart.com/brutalityinc/gallery/85885053/codex-quests Codex Quest(s)]]"'' which depicts him, Jade Shell and Sherlock's adventures and SliceOfLife experiences.

* ASharedSuffering: Part of what caused him to have a close bond with Rongoa was Rongoa finding him in the middle of a panic attack and, after staying with him until he calms down, understanding how it feels to fear being ostracized for a mental problem (though Rongoa's depression wasn't a chronic type, unlike Sherlock's Anxiety Disorders). While not having autism himself, Rongoa also was understanding due to having a daughter with it.

* EyeScream: {{Downplayed}}: Due to defects resulting from his cleft palate, his eyes, nose, and mouth are all structured strange. This can result in not only liquid coming out of his nose as per usual, but his ''eyes'' (something Godzillawolf also has).
