** In a flashback of episode two, it's implied he was Geass-commanded [[spoiler:by his brother]] to die, and Akito ''resisted it completely'' he is the first person to ever completely resist a full command from a geass, and he was ''four'' at that time! [[spoiler:Although his brother might not have commanded him to die, after all.]]

It's only because of Leila's AntiMagic he finally resisted it completely.]]

* AxCrazy: A relatively mild example - he's reckless to the point of being [[DeathSeeker suicidal]] ([[spoiler:his true goal anyway]]), [[BloodKnight enjoys battle a little too much]], can be very cynical and ruthless, and when he ''isn't'' any of those things, [[EmptyShell he's borderline emotionless]] who tries to hide it with [[DeadpanSnarker sarcasm]]. All that coupled with the fact that [[spoiler:he sees dead people]], all definite signs that he's mentally unstable to a degree. How mild or severe depends on what happens in future episodes.
** Elevated in the second episode, where his BloodKnight tendencies rub off on the delinquents ([[spoiler:though that's heavily implied to be the result of an unspecified Geass order used on him]]). More so than anything else however, is the look he gave Leila when he swore he'd kill his brother. The poor girl was frozen stiff.

* CharacterDevelopment: He slowly undergoes this in episode 3, where [[spoiler:reuniting with his brother]] and a few talks (and a fist fight) with his new comrades and Leila seems to change his mindset a bit. He is still a DeathSeeker AxCrazy, but he does appreciate people around him more.
** And in episode 4 [[spoiler:he is now freed from his brother's geass command completely, he becomes a full-fledged hero, no longer with his AxCrazy brutal killing method and even willing to befriend a former enemy]].

* DeathSeeker: [[spoiler:He's under an unspecified Geass command that seems similar to what Lelouch did to Suzaku: ''Do not Die''.]]
** [[spoiler: Averted. In a flashback, it is shown his older brother kept using his Geass on him, repeatedly telling him to die. Akito ''didn't'', so his BloodKnight tendencies and suicidal behavior are probably the Geass trying to force him to die.
