* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Not as extreme as Motes', but his name can be rendered without the extra "u".

One of the first composers to appear alongside Beethoven. Nicknamed "Motes"(see SpellMyNameWithAnS below).

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: His nickname can be spelled as either Motes or Motz in English. The official Crunchyroll subtitles went with the former.

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Hashie's name is sometimes spelt with two Ss.

* HumanityEnsues: Downplayed, as he has an AnthropomorphicPersonification of sorts (a blue-haired butler-looking {{Bishonen}} with PeekABangs), but only in {{Cyberspace}}. Sousuke identifies the human Pad-kun like this:

* SenpaiKohai: He admires his "Beethoven-sempai".

* SempaiKouhai: He admires his "Beethoven-sempai".

* HotScientist: [[spoiler: She was initially a highly-praised "young genius" (in regards to her work in artificial intelligence) who was assigned to Kyougo Otowa for Arhke research.]]

* ACupAngst: Worries about her bust size in episode 2. Her friend tells her it makes her swim faster but ends up incurring her jealousy when she shows off her breasts. The issue comes to a climax when Motes presents her with a breast-shaped cake, causing her to give him an ArmourPiercingSlap.

* BalefulPolymorph: He transforms people into fish and other aquatic wildlife with ''Die Forelle'' [[note]]The Trout[[/note]]. In the episode this is unveiled (episode 13), Schu-san becomes both a realistic trout and a more cartoon-like one.

* EverythingsBetterWithSpinning: Seems to enjoy riding the robot vacuum in episode 10, to the point where it doesn't complain about being spun rapidly on said robot vacuum due to Musik.

* CoolHat: Wears a big hat that is similar to a rasta cap. Even when he goes through the TransformationSequence, it doesn't disappear - it just goes a few shades darker.

* BlindingBangs / PeekABangs: His hair covers his eyes most of the time, except for a select few moments when he makes eye contact with someone else.

* LongHairedPrettyBoy: He sports a long braid, and his hair is shown to reach RapunzelHair levels when unbraided. He's also the most feminine-looking male character in the show, bordering on {{Bishonen}}.

* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: In this case, bubblegum pink.

* HumanityEnsues: Downplayed, as he has an AnthropomorphicPersonification of sorts (a [[YouGottaHaveBlueHair blue-haired]] butler-looking {{Bishonen}} with PeekABangs), but only in {{Cyberspace}}. Sousuke identifies the human Pad-kun like this:

* MulticoloredHair: Has a red streak in her black hair that can often be used to identify her.

* PetTheDog: When Beethoven and Mozart come to her for a job, she sets them up with legitimate interviews with a local school looking for music teachers with no strings attached.

* MeaningfulName: One kanji of his surname, when paired with the "Oto" of "Otowa", becomes "ongaku" or "music" in Japanese. (Oddly enough, [[{{Irony}} the other means "god"]].) His first name involves the kanji for "to play/perform (with a musical instrument)".
